Greetings all the way from Gladstone, Central Qld Geowife loves a cemetery cache. Thank you for sharing this beautiful part of the world with us
Find# 12170Nice quick find. We do love a cache in a cemetery. It's a shame we didn't notice this traditional cache while doing the Adventure Lab.We are on a two-week driving tour of Tassie. We're based in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney NSW.TFTC 2y'stassies
Thanks for the Cache 2y'stassie,Nothing I like better than poking around a Cemetery, you never know what you might dig up.Regards from Victourer
The Kings Birthday long weekend caching trip to Stanley is now in the second day. Today we found your cache whilst cleaning out the areas around Stanley and Smithton. An early start for us today and we found this cache at 12:00. Thanks 2y'stassies for placing AWGS: Explorer - Henry Hellyer 19 for us to find today. This brings my find count to 4899.
Swampy and I decided to visit Stanley with the aim of adding Pine Nut (GC52EF) to my list of oldest caches found. After an excellent trip, visiting the Hydro Power Trail along the way, we continued heading North West caching as we went. We found many different type of hides, cache containers and conditions. We fixed what was needed and replaced as found. What they all had in common was getting 2 geeks outside for some exercise. This find, AWGS: Explorer - Henry Hellyer 19, brings my total to 1678 and was found at 12:01 on 8/6/2024.Thanks 2y'stassies for playing the game and giving us another reason to visit this area. Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Came to the cemetery for a stage of the Adventure Lab so this was a bonus. TFTC
Today we have finally arrived in Stanley to explore and climb the Nut. Its been a bit grey and windy today so we decided to just do the AL and wander around the town. A really pretty quaint town. This was our first find whilst doing the AL. Quick find and sign TFTC 2ystassies
During a maintenance run today, a new logbook was provided to replace the full one. All ready to be found again.
Thanks Hellyer19. Was a bit tricky. Needs a new log now its full though. Im new to this but I think I should have some logs on me for this reason. Cheers
Tftc. Cemetery are usually quite serene. Despite the howling wind this one feels that way. The pine trees are beautiful.
A quick find while completing the AL that passes this point. Thanks for the hide 2y'stassies.
It was a lovely, fun filled week with good friends as we explored Tassie and its many delightful treasures. Definitely a holiday, but a holiday with that type of friend that steps up when needed, so they were very supportive of my need to detour or disappear occasionally for a cache. 'Are you loitering again?' as they called it... my loitering at trees, bushes, walls, signs, bridges, statues... well, you know!We had a great time exploring the Cemetery. What a beautiful place by the calm waters and the towering nut in the sunshine. In our wanders, 1845 was the oldest recorded burial we spotted. I'm sure there are others just it was interesting to see. I've always loved the stone masonry and history found in cemeteries, this is the first I've seen evidence of penguins!
A scenery not to be missed, nestled in a quiet place of contemplating. Very breeze So many people around.
Nice easy find. Did not have a pen, but took picture of log of proof is needed. Loved reading the history on the headstones here.
Thanks for the cache. A quick find before the sunset and arrrival of the penguins. Greetings from Finland!
The rain has stopped but the wind is howling. The cache is dry and in good condition.
After a stroll along the penguin viewing boardwalk, just to look at the area, we were delighted to spot a small wallaby nearby. Then a visit to get an Adv Lab answer and look for this cache as well. Thanks for the interesting history provided. Cache found well hidden and in good condition. Thanks for bringing us here.
Easy find. Interesting headstones showing so many died very young in years gone by. TFTC
A short search through this historic place and we had the prize in hand.
Thanks for bringing us to this place and the cache
Cheers

The same group of little muggles from this morning are running around the cemetery like it is a playground! Managed to find cache and sign it incognito
The mini muggles who we'd seen while geocaching on the Nut, had moved to the graveyard!
Between the game of tag, we managed to spot this one.
Thanks for maintaining the cache

I really enjoyed my visit to Stanley and the walk around The Nut. Thanks for the geofun.

Very windy today - great spot and quick find. Felt a little like a scene from Glitch, the ABC series. Caching while doing the heritage walk. TFTC
Cold and blustery day. Beaut cemetery with interesting headstones made from a variety of stones. Tftc
A lovely place for a hide and as with this CO, a great little hide. We were shocked that so many people buried here had short lives, lots less than 40 year old. Must have been a hard lifw here, difficult to imagine now.
Found with The X-Trailers after a great morning exploring this great little town. TFTC
Out n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
I was getting worried that we’d have a nasty blue dot, but she made the find where I’d already looked!
Thanks for the hide & 2y'stassies

Came here to do the AdLab and missed the trad, shame! So we came back after our Nut jaunt. I actually found the mint tin lid and worried about the replacement cache, but found it soon after. Many thanks for placing and replacing this cache!
The cache has been replaced in the same location. Please ensure that the covering rocks are in place after returning the cache and that fronds from the Norfolk Pine are added to give more natural camo.

To log a find, the minimum requirement is that the logbook must be signed. If there is no logbook, it is not possible to claim a find. Finding a lid (which may or may-not be the lid of the former container) does not constitute a find.
The appropriate action is to log a DNF, not a Find.
Cachers who have found part of the container only will have their logs deleted.

Found where the cache should be, including the lid of the cache. However, the container itself is now missing.
