#8248Back o Bourke road-trip the way homeWeve been on a road-trip chasing some LGAs we need between Coonamble and Kyogle, via Bourke. The car is packed with TOTTs and snacks and we are prepared for long drives and short walks, hoping to gather the required LGAs, hopefully finding fun caches that contribute to various challenges and goals we are working towards.Cool, weve found a few like this around the country Getting into and out of the rest-stop heading south was a concern, a case of 'don't do this on your driving test one day mate!'.....TFTC!
#8248Day 5 of our Northern/Western NSW Roadtrip.Armidale -> Newcastle (home)The final day of our LGA hunting trip, and no more LGAs today, just the way home now, grabbing good DTs, high favs and overall just cool looking caches to break-up the drive. end of copy paste A nice find, seen similar before so it was a relatively quick find. Nice construction and all in good condition. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache geono.
#6249Today's journey took us from Gunnedah to Armidale and finding some caches along the way. This was one of them. Thanks for the geo-fun. I really like the idea of this one so adding my FP to your tally. Great work Geono.
Made a quick detour on the way to an event and quickly had our hands on this one. TFTC from Ferg49&54
We drove back down the highway after lunch to find this one - and later realised we'd turned around only just up the highway to head back to Thunderbolt's Rock. We had the place to ourselves and wandered over to GZ to make the find - another well-crafted cache by geono ("wingaap of the west" - those from around Brisbane will understand the reference). Many thanks for your great hides.
Tyfc at first I thought it was the possum box thought bugga Ill give it a as the grass was low enough to see the ground hint - NOT the possum box
Another beautifully executed cache by Geono. We have enjoyed lots and been defeated by some as well. Spotted this one quickly and then collaboratively worked out how to sign the log.A favourite from us.After an enjoyable stay in Armidale with some great caching, it was time to move on so we traveled to Tamworth, again caching where it was possible on the way.We spent much of the day catching up with jobs and relaxing before heading out late in the afternoon for some shopping and a few caches and Lab points.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache geono..**SKI Pair****
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Making our way to Broken Hill for Mundi Mundi Bash. Before leaving Uralla we headed out to tackle some caches in town, before returning and hitching up the van and heading to Tamworth. The roadworks seem to have claimed the sign for the rest bay so we of course went 300mts past with the caravan on.... A U turn across 3 lanes and we were back at the rest bay and wandering off to GZ.We found this cache today. TFTC geono.
Stopped by here on the way to Tamworth. Missed the turnoff first time around and had to do a Uturn when safe and back to the parking. Walked up and identified the container, worked out how to get it open and signed the log and replaced.Fav pointTotal Caches Found 16018TFTC geono.
LGA hunting this weekend This was close to the border to another so we thought why not. Caching with my partner SemikWhat a great hide. Dont understand the clue till we found it. Thanks for the cachegeono.26 April 2024
Caching with Oddiewan with the Cache Crusader in tow. Were picking up caches in new-to-us LGAs in northern NSW on a four day weekend. I wasnt quite sure what we were looking for but when I saw it, I was fairly certain we had it. Sure enough we did. First of this MO for me!Thanks for the fun, geono.
Reperio 14:04Day 2 of our tour of Tamworth caching trip, and Master Vitruvius and I decided to head out towards Hillgrove and Wollomombi. With lots of drive by caches, most the finds were nice and quick, with a few nicely crafted caches thrown into the mix. The most pleasingly part of the day was that nearly all the caches were available and found. The cache hide was obvious, but it wasnt until you looked under the hood did the cache reveal its true nature and design. Well done on creating such a fun surprise element. Gratias geono. As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
After nearly 7 weeks away visiting Adelaide for The Great Leap Forward and Canberra for the MEGA and as many other places and LGAs as possible we are on the last leg. Stayed in Tamworth last night before heading to Warwick so we can complete our list of wanted caches. Quickly located and signed log as Q3 before replacing as found. TFTC
On the road today. Signing logs as Q3.Nicely hand-crafted cache. Favourite point for the effort.Log signed and cache replaced as found on April 9, 2024. TFTC, geono.
Day 2 of the last phase of our journey now towards home. Tamworth to Warwick with a few LGA stops on the way.Good one.Caching with and signing as the group 'Q3' and having a great day.TFTCache geono.
An afternoon trip to Uralla for some caching. I had about 2h and thought I would clear out the town but there are lots of good caches, including some short walks, i took it leisurely, enjoying it a lot, went over time and ended up getting about 2/3 of the caches around. Well, a good reason for another visit maybe next year. This cache was a pretty awesome construction. Will not be muggeled I am sure. Was the host already here? i looked closer at the constitution and it is pretty cool how well things fit together. I scared a backpack me thinks. I am sure she could make no sense of a guy with a red car stopping here and walking into the woods, a friendly wave didn't help, was gone when I got back, fair enough what we do look's scratchy most of the time. Thank you geono. for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
What a great hide. Signed the log but didnt have any items to add to the cache.
Hahah no surprises this is another favourite for us. Nearly missed the turn in for the rest area. Short stroll to the obvious spot then the cleverly designed cache was examined. Thanks for making our time here so much fun Geono. Tftc
A nice hide but a few spiders have made this cache their home! Thankfully I pulled the cache out of its hiding spot slowly or Id have some on my arm. Tftc!
Second stop for today on the way to Coffs. Nice little walk through the bush and a very creative hide. TFTC.
Work is progressing but as the rest area is a works depot it's still closed to the public. It looks like roadworks will continue for a while yet.
Sorry, forgot to update... The roadworks are still underway. This is a fairly big job and it looks like it will be continuing for months. We regularly pass this way so will keep an eye on how things are progressing.
Roadworks still in progress. The upgrade covers a lot of kms.. it will take some time to complete.
**Mon, 06 Mar - 09:46**
This area is closed off due to roadworks. Perhaps it needs to be temporarily disabled by the owner until the works are finished!

Our route today, Tamworth to the coast, along with the amazing changes in elevation, there were many "stretch the legs" stops for caches such as this. No luck here. See N. M. log.

After having been to the QOGM 2022 in Murweh/Queensland, we went on a caravan trip in NSW as far down as Canberra.
Now we are heading home to North Brisbane, caching along the way.
Thanks to all COs who put caches out.
We enjoyed here our lunch! A fav point for the awesome hide.

Chilly morning when we pulled up here but braved the cold and made my way to the cache. A few seconds later I figured out what was required and soon had cache in hand. Tftc
Instead of heading mega north to Townsville for Easter, Seffnjarah and I planned a long weekend road trip doing some bushwalks whilst targeting puzzles, EC's, unloved caches, high favourite points and some higher elevation caches.
After a night in the swag in Armidale, today we planned on heading west through Invergowrie before turning south, and then returning via Uralla to clean up a long list of caches in Armidale.
Lots of favourite points here, so this one needed investigating. A short walk and about a million more prickles in the pants and we found the cache. Following the instructions, we soon realised that the cache was not intended. It was in pieces, with parts stuck in the tube. After lots of fiddling, we managed to extract everything, sign the log and replace it as intended.
Many thanks, geono.

Crookedpete and I were given leave passes from our respective families for the Easter long weekend for a geocaching road trip. I suspect that this was our families' Easter present to themselves to have a weekend alone without our company .
As members of The Bromance geocaching collective, we are a rather contrarian bunch, so while the main geocaching action was apparently up north over Easter we decided to instead head south from Brisbane. Our main focus was on caches with lots of favourites, good DT combinations, high elevation or sitting sad and neglected with no visitors for an extended period.
After finding some other off-the-beaten-path caches, our route back to Uralla brought us past this cache. No one else in the rest stop at the time so we wandered off through the scrub to GZ. Note sure if the cache had been replaced as intended by the previous finder but everything seemed to come apart as we extracted the cache, with most remaining down in the hide. The logbook, trinkets and a pen were extracted (the pen proved trickiest of all) and then we managed to extract the lid which was still down there as well. After signing the logbook we put everything back together and replaced the cache so that it should stay intact for the next visitor. TFTC

My wife and I had enjoyed a week in Mudgee trying wines, buying wines and drinking wines and we were on our way back home. Normally when you are on the return leg of a trip away you just want to get back home and only stop for caches you can reach from the car.
I decided to limit our targets by only picking caches with more than 50 favourite points. When a whole bunch turned up we knew this wasn’t going to be a quick trip. Thankfully we had planned a stop over in Glen Innes and so had the time to stop in for these awesome caches.
When we pulled into the rest area there was a gentleman emerging from the bush so we thought they had the same idea as us. We haven’t checked the logs so he either found the cache as well or we stepped through his pee to find it. Another awesome hide and a favourite point added to the pile. tftc

I had to use chopstick motion with nearby sticks to get the log out and not sure if this was the intended configuration. TftC.
Found but as I lifted off it broke away and is now down there. Need owner attendance.
Had to swing in here to satisfy the need for a cache and another good one to,TFTC
Making slow progress on the trip back to Tam. Too many distractions and car keeps swerving into side roads
Mobi signal was all over the shop for some reason, here. It was adding and deleting 20 metres randomly. Took a while to settle and then relieved to see the numbers going down. Sweet hide and soon back on the road.

Stopped at the rest stop on our way to Tamworth. Found our way to GZ. Followed instructions and found the cache and the HUGE huntsman spider guardian. Another great cache. Deserves a fav point from us.
#7091 Day 5 of our "Dayboro Plan B" trip. mtrax & myself, having decided to ditch the mega came up with a last minute re-route using some of the accommodation we'd already booked and find some interesting caches. To this end we were very selective and only chose caches with sufficient FPs along the route. Today we headed out of Armidale down towards Tamworth. Only a short trip of 150km or so, but with sufficient geostops to fill out the day. Highlights for today had to be the geono caches around Uralla and Uralla itself. We bumped into "The Neighbs" along the way and had a chat. They were heading up to the Mega too, but had to divert.
Another cool and clever hide. I looked straight past it at first.
Thanks geono.

A great little stop on our drive from Adelaide to Brisbane with Davidwazza! TFTC!
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled from Tamworth to Port Macquarie. Our first major stop was Uralla, and along the way, we targeted high favourite point geocaches, of which there were a few in the area. After completing the Uralla Adventure Lab, we made our way to Walcha, where we enjoyed a nice river walk whilst completing that Adventure Lab too. Finally, we took the windy road through Cotton-Bimbang National Park, and stopped at Ellenborough Falls. We hadn't realised how far away these were, but we did enjoy the walk and views of the mighty falls whilst completing that Adventure Lab. We then made it into Port Macquarie in time for dinner and a few evening geocaches.
This was a targeted geocache due to the high Favourite Points (FPs) awarded, with 78 FPs at the time of this log.
We stopped off along the highway, and stumbled through the bush to GZ, whilst trying to avoid the various spider webs inhabited by golden orb spiders. Once we arrived, we instantly knew where the cache would be, and unpacked the outer camouflage to reveal the well put together cache hide. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A very cool cache, and even found a cache guardian climbing out, which was a huntsman spider. Thanks geono. for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

#16812. Our second day on the road with the new camper travelling homewards from Uralla to Mudgee. A long day - smoky and the land is so dry and desolate and soul-destroying. Gathered a few caches along the way as they popped up on the radar.
I was right on the money for this one but didn't sort it out straight away. Doh! Finally did get it all sorted and loved it. A favourite point once again. Picked up a TB here to move along.
