Out and about enjoying the hidden gems of our country. On a cool Central Otago morning, no fog or frost, making the most of the new Matariki holiday. Never have I driven around this side of the state highway, but MrF has done lots of deliveries to this area so knows it well. TFTC

Not many horses about, but did find the cache. It looks like this weekend will be the bit horse meet, so this place will be very busy!We will be leaving Cromwell by then, and miss all the excitement.A fun find, thanks mcmanis1 for the hide

An easy find and another of my hidden dates logged, TFTC. I’d never been up this road before.
Managed to pick this gut up on a random drive around Cromwell and district. No issues, thanks for the cache.
G'day from Australia!!!
Stumble Trip had been in NZ for the past 6mths, working on the Milford Track. Stumble's Mate flew in to meet up with her and we spent the next 2wks traveling the beautiful South Island in a camper. Whilst the weather wasn't favourable for the first week, we had an awesome time and travelled some 3,200+kms, seeing some beautiful sites and staying in just as beautiful campsite along the way.
Thanks to all the CO. Unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.

When we last visited this cache three years ago, we were unable to look for it, as there was some sort of show on, and the gate was a hive of activity. Today it was deserted, and the cache didn't take too long to find, although we did search a number of spots before looking in the obvious one. TFTC
I'm staying in Clyde for a couple of days. Headed into Cromwell early this morning. to have a look around and find a cache or two. No worries here. TFTC

Today was set aside to do a geo caching day to Cromwell if the weather was unsuitable for skiing which is was , so we set off early at about 8.30 and finally arrived home about 5.30 with approx 41 caches in total including the adventure lab , so we were very pleased. we took a muggle who have been intro' to geocaching briefly on a few days before and so today was a big geo caching experience for her and as i had 2 GPS's with me she was able to use one quite independently by half was thro the day.
we enjoyed spending some time at the historic Cromwell area which none of us had actually explored before and where we had lunch at the Grain cafe.
we only had 2 DNFs and both were of puzzle style caches which we had solved but there was nothing at GZ.

On holiday staying in Wanaka and decided to check out a town we haven't visited on previous trips and today it was Cromwell. Had a good time exploring the town including the museum which is near the cafes in the town centre area and then some caching - a perfect day really!

We are out and about in the area finding some caches and enjoying exploring and revisiting other areas again.

We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. We scored 3x nights at Rotary Glen with max occupancy of 10 vans. The plan was just staying 2 nights but it's just to nice here. We never explored Cromwell, just raced through so we're going to make the most of it. The wind is already picking up and growing into a decent storm as the day progresses. We were doing the fruit caches but muggles spoiled it for a bit. So a hop and a skip till the coast was clear. Brought back memories of Walk for Life at Cromwell racecourse with lovely people. A cache in the middle of the little fruit series Tftc
Had a friend who was one of the horsewomen. She was told not to loise the beard she had to wear. Was worth about 2 grand.TFTC

Cache 304 I was trying to be a thorough breed and speed to find this cache but I ended up being a Clydesdale but got there in the end, cache in good shape

Out for the day doing the Little Fruit trail and a few other ones on the same route. Mr S found this one. Horses. Not our favourite animal. Too high off the ground. Lol.

Had a great time finding caches today as we journeyed back to Gore from Queenstown, took the long way via cromwell. Was a lovely mild winter's day, and although we found a few around Cromwell, I think we might have to come back and get the rest! TFTC
I wonder what fruit horses eat. Jude_E and I spent last night in Arrowtown and are planning on finding the fruit series, doing the lab cache and other geocaches in the Cromwell area. It is our final full day on this Otago Road trip.. Thanks mcmanis1 for creating this hide. It was find 8713 for me.

An early start for me this morning....out on a bike ride loop of Cromwell township to grab a pile of the fruit series caches. We are staying in the nearby campground for a week so plenty of time to explore the local area.

The box was full of earwigs!! Found it after a short search of the obvious places. TFTC
There was a moment of hesitation here until we realised there was an obvious hiding place. Interestingly once I knew where it was I could actually see it!
Today we made a nice little tour in Cromwell. Found a lot of fruit and some other nice caches. Thanks to all the CO's for maintaining the caches. TFTC.
We decided it was prudent not to attempt this cache today, as there was a major event on, with cars queued up at entrance.
Out to get some caches today before we head for Queenstown and the flight home. TFTC
Found at my first NZ Dog Agility Competition. over 4000 dogs, what a fabulous event organised by zone 5. Thank you for having us Cromwell. Found with Fumblebugs and Kathryns first cache. I think she could be easily hooked.
