The 3 Stooges are hitting Yorkes Peninsula again, WayneAPN, weredunn4 and myself, looking to knock off more of the Gone Fishing Series.Any other caches of interest will be tackled along the way too of course I had to check this out Friday night, but its been 13 months since we last tackled this series as a grouptoo long Our trips away are always a bundle of fun, ranging from abundant dad jokes, banter, hatching plans of future trips, crap being thrown around about weredunn4s 2 minute loo (I mean poo) stops , baked bean talk and the list goes onSuffice to say, these are always great trips away All caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC

We are now making our way back to Adelaide for the leap day mega tomorrow. Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie are signing our logs as SPBINZ or sometimes SPINZ as BT has done a large number of caches on the Peninsula. TFTC M's Piggy (Babe)#16048

Caching as team SPBINZ: Sidewaze, Paddlechick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie from Nelson, New Zealand. Having had one record day caching (430+) and then another quite full on (200+) were a bit more laid back today, taking our time for a good look around, several AdLabs some earthcaches and generally a more laid-back sort of a day.People sometimes ask how you can see much of the scenery when youre so busy caching but I find I see more than the average tourist who keeps to tar-sealed roads and drives from town to town. So, another awesome day exploring rural and small town South Australia.Greetings from the Shaky Isles across the ditch and many thanks for the hide.

Found as part of the SPBINZ team (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ, and Nanzie) however Bullertrout has found this one on a previous visit. Today we're taking a slower and more scenic route as we head back towards Adelaide for the main event tomorrow. Staying a couple of nights in Ardrossan for a geocaching trip in multiple towns across the Yorke Peninsula, with a few new hides along the way.

Day 2: The main day of Goldy's trip gaining some smileys in southern Ardrossan, then visiting the towns and localities of James Well, Pine Point, Port Julia, Port Vincent, Yorketown, Minlaton, Curramulka, Sheaoak Flat, Tiddy Widdy Beach, Paskeville, Willamulka, Alford, Kadina and Cunliffe.

Goldy's first multiple day trip for the primary mission of finding and hiding caches was a good one. 63 caches found by 26 different COs, 875+ kilometres driven, 21 towns visited and 14 caches hidden.

Great singer and performer.

Cache quickly located here today.

Signed with stamp.

Caches found with assistance from Goldy's geocaching box, containing various items such as tools of the trade, containers, spare log books and zip lock bags of various sizes.

Tweezers, torches and a magnetic grabber tool are always on hand for necessary cache retrieval.

As well as a first aid kit and gloves for when things get messy.

A quick pull over here today. The cache was easily found and is all in good order

A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.

Thanks for the cache

I have driven past this one so many times, but usually had a car to close to allow me to stop. Today I got lucky, and it reminded me of Geraldton (the shape of the trees). We visit Stansbury often, and we have renamed it Winds-bury. There is a very good reason for those wind turbines..... Anyway, while the cache and contents are dry, the container is cracking, and I didnt have anything to help out, sorry. Thanks for showing me this spot though.

Huge weekend with heaps of finds on the Yorke Peninsula! Loooong day on fishing line followed by geoart, A planned weekend with great company- Munja and Davewazza and Kiwis mar1sa and the Seagnoid.

Tried to complete as much of the geoart as possible, and not under time pressure for as yesterday. WE started later then completed Fishy Tales (FT), Fish, Jellyfish, Sally Starfish, and Sammy Starfish and the straggling caches from the Anchor. We had a great dinner in Yorketown.

Spectacular scenery along the coast great and replacement containers almost finished. A number of sections did need attention so we did what we could to keep the caches viable. most were brittle/cracked with wet logbooks, and animal damage animals. Caches signed as KaA (Kiwis and Aussies). TYFTC SLTNLN amazing effort fave

07-Oct-19
A long weekend with a massive amount of geocache finds in the Yorke Peninsula! The weekend was filled with a loong day of the fishing line power trail, followed by a subsequent day of the geoart at the peninsula bottom. I managed to squeeze in a night scuba dive, and then it was a slow return home finding a few geocaches on the way. An unexpected enjoyable weekend than what I thought it would be, with great company from locals Munja and skuzzybear, and visiting Kiwis mar1sa and the Seagnoid.

The original plan for today was to continue/complete the geoart at the bottom of Yorkes, but I think everyone had had enough with the monotony of getting in/out of cars with little scenery and ongoing repetition, that we decided to take it slowly back up the peninsula. It was an early-ish start from 8:00 hr, as we wanted to beat the crowds back heading home from the long weekend. Geocaches were collected along the main coastal road (or just off it), with a small detour visiting Black Point to collect those caches and having a FTF. I then said goodbye to the team as I drove skuzzybear back to her car in Kadina, and then collected a few strategic oldie caches on the return back to Adelaide. Unfortunately I was waiting in heavy traffic for a duration of 30 min at the dreaded Port Wakefield turn-off due to the time spent in the morning collecting caches, but otherwise, the return drive back went without incident. The weather was kind to us with an enjoyable morning, and then raining (and cleaning!) my car once I had arrived home.

A quick driveby geocache along this coastal road. Once we were at GZ, it didn't take long to make the find. The container has a few cracks showing, so it may be prudent for the CO to check and perform any necessary maintenance. Thanks M's Piggy (Babe) for the placement.

07-Oct-19
The end of the Kiwis and Aussies trip on the York Peninsula had finally come to an end and rising early we began to make our way back to Adelaide. Like any good caching trip, we slowly cached our way home. Despite the greying weather it was a good drive back home, with traffic not presenting us with too much of a problem. An enjoyable and relaxing way to finish what was a fantastic trip. All logs were signed as KaA (Kiwis and Aussies).

TFTC Smile

Wow that tree is amazing. How did it happen?
After spending the night in Stansbury after a couple of over-the-top days in the Yorke Peninsula targeting the geoart, Team KAA are heading north - the rush is on! To relieve a cache of its empty logbookness. Got that, now heading back to Adelaide. Thank goodness for the cooler weather! That 42 degrees we had earlier was just too much.
Team KAA (Kiwis and Aussies) are Skuzzybear, the Seagnoid, Munja, Mar1sa, David and Kris.

As this is a generic log comments relevant to this cache will be placed at the end. On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. Thank you all the cache owners who have put so much effort in placing and maintaining these caches. Heading back home and doing a few caches on the way. Well named cache. Great photo opportunity! Giving it a Favourite for all the work that must have gone in to finding this place. Kutgw

05-Oct-18
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.

Today was the last day of our caching holiday and so we headed from the Yorke Peninsula this morning back to Mildura for the night, before heading to Canberra the next day.

We found the cache quickly so we all took a bow, but I missed the photo opportunity with Shirley - dang it! The container has had a couple of holes chewed into it and a few little cockroaches had got in. But I prefer them over spiders, so all good for me there. The rest of the contents were fine. Tftc M’s Piggy (Babe)!!!

19-Sep-18
Once more we set off to explore the Yorke Peninsula and grab as many caches as we can on our way. The weather gods have let us down a bit today, lots of short sharp showers interspersed with times where the sun is fighting its way thru the clouds. We have come to love this area in the weeks we have been here, and shake our heads at the times we have just driven straight past on our way to somewhere else. What a waste!
It makes you wonder what quirk of nature made it grow in this shape. Straightforward find.

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.

My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience. Smile

09-Sep-18
After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.

We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days Surprised!

Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process Big Grin.

After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!

The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!

Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

TFTC!

09-Sep-18
This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.

We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.

Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.

Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.

As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.

We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.

Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!

Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!

Cheers

Was travelling past for work and needed a driving break and this was the ideal spot for a stop to make the find. Had tried this one previously and struck out so today I was determined to make the find. Parked nearby and wandered over to GZ and started the search. Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
