Heading North and taking a couple of planned detours. Have been eyeing up this plane series for a long time but never gotten around to it before. Today I took flight and knocked a few of them off.No lid but remarkably dry. Thanks for the cache.
Heading north, I made a diversion to pick up a few caches around Ohakea. This was one of them. I pulled off the road, and soon spotted the hide. Extracting the container took a bit longer, but eventually it came free. Unfortunately, the tin has seen better days, bent out of shape and lid gone. Log inside is still ok, though. Tftc!
It was good to find another one in this series. No lid on cache, and I didnt have a spare container, so I added a ziplock bag to hopefully keep the log dry.
I was in the area for work again so took a late night 6hr/26km stroll.
Easy find here. I may have replaced the paper.

Need to get out to receive our milestone of 600 finds. I texted Oliver to see if he wanted to come and you already know what he said.
We ended up finding 10 caches with 100% find rate! And got to our goal of 600 finds!
I wrote in the log and placed the cache back as found. TFTCSL, Thanks spudnz for this Traditional cache and keeping the game rolling. We are now one step closer to our next milestone of 600 finds.

Good little park and grab. The cache isn’t in the best condition though rusted.
Thanks spudnz for the Traditional cache! I replaced the cache back to its original spot.

spudnz probably needs to stop by and give this cache some attention.

Last time we came here some road works were going on so we had to pass on by. No one around today so good to sign it off. Another quick find by GigiEV ! Needs some maintenance as cache is very damaged with no lid. Thanks for placing
A car had gone through the cache location. I retrieved what was left in the cache an placed in the nearest location matching the hint, still in the triangle. TFTC!
Day 11 on our holiday in New Zealand. Today we are in the area and surrounding area of Wellington, and then we go to Ruapehu. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.
***T4T$ - Many Thanks to spudnz for hiding and maintaining of this cache *** ️

Not the hint item we started looking at initially. So widened search to next hint item, found cache but unfortunately it looks like it’s been involved in some kind of accident.
Widened the search & found the cache. It looks like it's been in an accident. Co-ordinates out a bit. Tftc
Competing in the World Blokart Champs at Sanson and Ohakea this week.
Have wanted to pick these up for years and I finally took the opportunity to grab this before heading home.

On our way to a car club meeting and taking the oppertunity to find a few caches on the way. Nice quick find. TFTC.
Decided to go for a drive for my birthday, the day NZ goes to red under traffic lights framework. I haven't cached for a while, so what better way to explore the country side. Thank you for the cache and information on the Strike master, I do enjoys learning about the history when i dwell deeper. Thank you for the cache, just managed to grab log, i forgot to put the tweezers in the car before i left home.

In Sanson Finding a few caches today. Thank you for the history lesson on planes and the placement of the caches
A nice and easy find by Master 4 this afternoon. All quiet out here on these roads - we’ve never travelled this way before so it’s a nice change.
TFTC spudnz!
TFTC spudnz!
Another quick park 'n' grab find. All good here. Normally I'd write a more interesting log, but really, I can't be bothered. I remember now why I only got a few of this series of geocaches six years ago. TFTC
Traveling up to Wanganui today and left myself enough time to do some caches in this area. No trouble here, TFTC
On our way back to Whanganui after collecting most of the Shield caches. Still had a bit of time and energy to collect some traditional caches. Not the red arrows but more like a smiley arrow. Thanks.
Another great aircraft type and must cost a bundle in fuel to operate it. Thanks CO for the cache
It was well wedged in there but very easy find and quick sign. Good parking and had 5 little black planes fly over in formation right as I pulled up. Very cool!
One of 30 caches located today in the Sanson/Ohakea/Bulls vicinity. Worth the special drive up from Wellington! I needed more than 25 to ensure this month’s total breaks my previous monthly record. Almost all quick finds, as was this one. #3139. TFTC.
Quick find, good parking here. All good in the hide, plenty of air traffic today. TFTC
Nice easy find. Decided to take a little detour and find some caches and get away of the holiday traffic coming into Bulls. TFTC
Another good aircraft...enjoying this little series ...thanks spuz..appreciate your efforts
Passing here a year later and Mcjandals reminded us that we had got these Apologies for not logging them sooner This seems to be our area for Labour weekends So much fun with Team BOP So many road trails down here Thanks for putting them outTFTC
Driving past here today and noticed I haven't logged these caches. I found them last year on way home from Mega with McJandals and a few others from Teambop. Tftc
Heading down Tangimoana Road to boost my numbers for September. This was the last find for this stretch as this brings me up to 250 finds for September and qualification for a now-archived challenge (but I had pre-signed). Parked up in the suitable spot and headed for the obvious location. Spotted the cache quickly, signed the log, and replaced. All good here. Decided to stop for now as we wanted to get to another location before it closed, but it turned out that it was not the end of my geocaching for the day. TFTC
We are wandering around in the camper, from Rotorua to Marton to Wellington and back, taking our time and geocaching on the way. No wonder it’s cold there is lots of snow on the ranges to the east. It's supposed to be spring. Feels like winter.
Thanks spudnz.
Thanks spudnz.
I had been wanting to have a crack at doing all these tempting caches around the Ohakea Airforce Base for some time now, and thanks to the great weather and a free afternoon, today became that day.
I apologise for the generic posting but generally I found all the posted co-ordinates and associated Hints to be good, the containers themselves to be ok and the logsheets to be either fine or at the very least (if a bit damp) still signable.
I've found a few like this hide before so it was a nice quick find at GZ. Thanks for setting this series up.

We had finished our days plan early so thought this little power trail would fill in the afternoon nicely. Think we did it the wrong way around as most of the caches were on the other side of the road but as it was so quiet it proved to be no problem. TFTC
Day 3/9 of our New Years trip up to the North Island. This was find #60/100 for the day and #129/526 of our trip.
Today was a numbers run of mostly PnG caches. We started in Palmy and set off to see if we could Spell, then headed up to Bulls and after that rounded up a few Smurfs, Herbs, Airplanes, Railway stations and anything else along the way until we came in to finish the KAS trail we started in Oct 2016. A nice easy find and nice and dry so we left our new signature item, a Rainbow Beadtail. Thanks for the effort involved in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy.

Found while out and about around the Manawatu on a caching expedition with Flowerydaze.

On a caching day out with Talla64 in very pleasant weather. We enjoyed the aircraft power trail, lovely countryside; in fact an area we have not been before. Thanks for all the caches.
Today was part two of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier, taking me from Taihape to Wellington... with time to find a few caches along the way, of course. Apologies for the cut and paste logs... I really enjoyed driving around this trail finding all the aircraft related caches. Interesting descriptions too, now that I've had time to read them. TFTC, Biggles.
Out with popmac
Last time I was here, I got a few of the plane-caches, but due to bad weather and bad legs, I only got some.. today was a perfect day for getting the rest.

Decided on doing a few of these drive by caches whilst on my journey. Most were easy finds with the caches in good condition. TFTC.
This day just gets better and better, a light breeze, some sun and lots of caches.
Its running around the back roads of Palmy for drivebys to get The Seagnoid his 10,000th cache.
The Strikemaster has been snagged and tagged. Cheers
Day 12 - Tuesday - Desert Road to Palmerston North.
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are on another epic caching adventure for the next two weeks, starting with the Wellington Mega, then East Cape, Tauranga, Waihi, Rotorua and back to Wellington. Its been an awesome journey, over 2500 klms later, visiting many amazing places. Thanks to all COs

I prefer these to the aermacchis. Not sure why. But I can go and visit one at work whenever I want, so maybe that's part of the reason .

Day 12 of our Mega trip: Desert Road to Palmerston North, doing this series to get the last few to tip me over 10,000 cache finds. Two weeks of travel with Taybeedragon, from Blenheim to the 2018 mega event, then on to my mum's eightieth birthday in Rotorua via the East Cape and Tauranga and the hole in the ground that is Waihi. Dropped the dragon off in Wellington while I continued on to Motueka for more family time before at last arriving home. We may have only found 230 caches over that 3000 km, but I qualified for 4 badge upgrades, hit the 10,000 cache mark, and even have a missing month ticked off! Throughout most of the trip we targeted special caches - earth caches, virtuals, wherigos, etc, although there were a lot of traditionals too. On the cache maintenance side about eight caches were replaced, and many more logs were added to or replaced. Many thanks to everyone who made this an awesome trip.

It’s Day 5 of our 2018 WENZ MEGA crusade (the last day) and Team BOP were well represented by McJandals, NZFlossy, TNXPro, Davidson Clan, FapAndGap & Squirrel nutcase and myself.
We had a huge hit list for this affair so it was a little manic. We’ve signed our logs either individually or as ‘Team BOP’ for expedience (depending on log space, size or condition). A special thanks to all the CO’s and those who have helped keep these caches in good order.
This trail of caches I'd almost forgotten to log as I'd twisted both my ankles in Wellington and I was high on pain killers. Well they're logged now - cheers tommygun9, TFTC

Up for the Mega for the week, had a great day in the Bulls and the sunrounding areas many thanks to the cache placer's - Bitsprayer
Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, Philip Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
My bag, jacket, and food have been stolen the day before from the car, but thanks to Popmac I had batteries and some cache to keep myself busy until the flight in the evening. So that's what I did! I decided to find as many as possible with the petrol I had and driving without the driver side window. It did rain and hail some in the morning, but then it cleared up and it was all good except the wind! Thanks for all the caches along the way that helped me keep my sanity TFTC!!
Knowing full well that there's not a hope in hades that I'll get all the way to the 100-cache end goal of the current souvenir promotion, I'm trying to get a few more finds to get at least half way (to earn the second-to-last souvenir).
As of this morning, I need 11 more to get half way, and this circuit around Ohakea had 19. Sounds like a great morning out with the kids to me
I'm over the 50 mark now, so any more are now bonuses!
Found the container in the hint location but the lid has Broken off.
Replaced container (and log-book) in the same location.

In the Manawatu for the long weekend as Sunday will be spent heading up Rangiwahia Hut to get Ruahine for the Old School North Island Challenge. Saturday was spent exploring and collecting caches along the way. Did the circuit of Ohakea Air Base as other half spent time her when in the air force. TFTC
Our last cache of the day due to the heavy rain. Hopefully we will return to get the rest another time. Thank you for this series. # 601
#3817. I had the day off work so decided I needed another road trip to wrap up a very busy month (of geocaching). I am working on the DGSC challenge and foolishly decided to go for the bulk find elective which needs 1500+ cache finds in the year. But one month needed 300+ finds and I was close enough to that target in March so went for it today to get the remaining 61 caches I needed. And so onto the Sanson power trails. Quick find and sign here. All good and replaced as found. This is another aircraft I have seen in various display flights over the country. Thanks for the cache.
