Nice track along the river here! On my way for a longer mtb adventure. Quick find thanks to hint, tftc!
Thanks drawp for the cache. Its #1772 for us. We found your cache on 12 November 2023. Disturbed a mother duck and 5 ducklings sheltering under the bush. Hopefully theyll return once weve gone.
One of a few caches we located on our bike ride from Albert Town to Lake Hawea (and back) this afternoon. As a previous logger mentioned, this one turned out to be more like 5m rather than 2m from the hint object. It contains two separate logsheets. I signed the first one I came across, not both. #6119. TFTC.
The last time I was here there was an event on so kept on driving. Today there were just half a dozen having fun on the standing waves.
I found the cache at least 5m away from the bush.
Cheers for the cache.

Epic day biking/caching from Alberttown to Lake Hawea and back and then to Wanaka and back!!! Found with Conbat. TFTC!
Was hidden pretty good! I put a Pokemoncard in becaus i didnt have a pen on me :3
Hi there drawp - nothing much to do today, so with caching in mind I planned some of the more awkward caches for today. More awkward means caches that my better half is unable to accompany me to. I found your cache at 1151am after a short search - and the container and log were both found to be in good condition unless noted in the Fieldnotes below. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to drawp for this cache - the 3rd of 8 finds for the day.
FieldNotes: The cache and log were both found in good condition. Cache trash removed to the rubbish bin

A nice quick find thanks, once I widened the search area.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. Today we cruised around Wanaka, Hawea and Cromwell. There was a stong nor'wester wind and some lovely lenticular clouds, but it did stop biking and caching.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

I also found a pile of rocks in the logical spot and couldn't find hide nor hare or a cache anywhere. Read past logs and also couldn't find the rabbit hole streetwalker referred to in his log. But when I widened my search everything all fell into place. TFTC # 18,018
Thanks for the cache. Didn't have a pen so took photo. Previous logs were helpful
I feel like I found found the spot it was meant to be but there was nothing there
This cache took a while to find. The GPSr took us to a shrub (manuka I think) which had a SPOR at its base, but sadly no cache was under them. We searched further afield without luck then back to the shrub for a more thorough frisking. I was resigned to our first DNF for the day, so suggested we head back to the air conditioned car (it was hot work searching in this sheltered spot).
StreetWalker thought he'd give another likely spot another look- it was a deep rabbit hole which had been covered with a flat rock a few metres north of the shrub. Poking with his walking pole turned up another rock, but no cache. More vigorous and even deeper probing, and I thought I heard the thunk of plastic being hit. So he bravely put his arm in right up to his shoulder and pulled out a systema container! Much rejoicing. It seems even cache containers are going deep down rabbit holes these days .
Unfortunately, the log book is wet and manky looking, so we took a photo instead of writing in it. Put a couple of stones in the hole to stop it falling down again. TFTC!

#20462. This one was looking like a DNF. However, we'd expended a bit of effort to get here (in the hot sun) so persisted. In the end I decided to do a better search of a deep rabbit hole with my walking pole as a probe. One suspicious clunk turned out to be a decent size stone. Probed deeper, and Troodles thought she heard a plastic impact. Hmmm. Checked depth on pole against my arm---should (just) be able to reach it. Put my arm all the way in ... and pulled out a cache. Phew! Put a couple of stones in the hole, then the cache, the put the original cap stone back over the hole. TFTC.
4. cache today on my bike trip. Few days ago I moved to Luggate so could start a loop there, find another cached in area. Finally I finished in John Creek due to strong wind + pain in lower back + a small snack .
Found it! Its still under a rock buuut moved a a little heh but not too far! goodluck
Didn't spot the wasp nest mentioned in the previous log. Log is VERY wet and I didn't have anything to replace it with. TFTC.
We passed a nasty wasp nest near here but made a nice quick find. A kind of rabbit colditz existed here where rabbits had made loads of tunnels under the rabbit proof fence to feed on the new native plantings. Tftc
*Another good find.
Nice day going from cache to cache with woolwood9.*

Great hide! Quick find left a lego . Found with the one, the only , Winston Furchill! Tftc
2020 wasn’t the best year for geocaching for a number of reasons. Trying to make a concerted effort to do one cache a day on average this year. Out today playing catch up already.
Thanks for helping us achieve our goal.

Nice stroll on a nice day. Quite a few cyclists around. Found was out in the open.
Log soaked so took the time to go back to car and grab a bagged log sheet, these are the times wish I could ride a bike! tftc
Second day in Hawea and Wanaka. Always happy when the family let me squeeze a few caches in on our holiday. Enjoyed the walk along the track. Cache found but logbook soggy. Tried to sign but pen stopped working. Have photo of cache if required. Tftc
Cache was in bad condition. Log was soaked and when i went to write on it the paper ripped. Needs urgent maintenance.
Our last day in Wānaka and we hired cycles and rode from Hawea to Wanaka. All caches were quickly located thanks to good coordinates and great hints. Great views along the trail on a hot sunny day.
Cute spot. Log book is soaked. Looks like water has gotten into the bag so I've left the bag open in the hope that it'll dry out a bit
Up in Cromwell for the week and it's the start of the museum Mystery challenge and this is one of the caches I need to find. TFTC
Found and logged on a wonderful bike ride along the Hawea River Track from Wanaka to Hawea. TFTC
Found on a cycle ride around Hawea and through to Alberttown. A lovely sunny day with snow low down on the hills. We needed to scrape the frost off the bike seats before setting off. TFTC
Hi from Tauranga. Staying in Wanaka for Easter and gathering some smileys as we cycle the Hawea trail. Easy find. Cache is all good. TFTC
We did a bike ride from Lake Hawea back to Wanaka. A local company dropped us off at the start point with bikes, helmets, maps and instructions. It was a great day. Beautiful views and weather. BART and Lisa spotted this one while waiting for the slow pokes on the bike path. TFTC.
Half way there! Still a few more caches to grab. Makes our ride much more enjoyable to have these caches to look for. TFTC.
I spotted the likely hiding spot as I made my approach on bike from the swing bridge.
Didn't even have to get off the bike for this one! Now an uninterrupted ride through to the swingbridge.
Walked to here from Camp Hill Road, the sun had come out and it was getting quite warm now around the middle of the day. Spotted the cache as I approached. Signed log, TFTC
