Out caching with B12 & C10 on a sunny winter's day. Can see effort gone into making this cache; worthy of finding in its glory days.
Still there albeit in terrible shape
Out for a day of caching around Darlington, Mundaring and the surrounding areas to cleanup the huge number of caches around these parts that have evaded us for a while.
A lot of bush caching today with some nice finds through John Forrest National Park, which I’ve always wanted to explore, but never got around to. The highlight of the walk apart from some great caches, informative signs along the trail, beautiful bridges, nice trails and great scenery was a walk through the Swan View Tunnel, which was absolutely awesome.
The other major walk of the day was around the Boya Quarry which is simply amazing for people that have never visited (I know many attended dark energy’s event out this way when his earth caches were still active in the quarry) beautiful views in particular from the top of the quarry and looking up the beautiful cliffs throughout the area.
We collected a bunch of other caches around the dam in JFNP, central Mundaring, and the Boya areas.
An amazing day out that finishes finding two old archived caches that have seen better days but would have been amazing to have seen in their heyday.
Thanks to all of the local COs for a great days caching, we had lots of fun. Thanks

Reading the logs over & over for this cache, I was confident that it would still be there... I had made some notes to help me with the search, so with the long weekend upon us I decided John Forrest park was our destination for Day 1 I bribed the kids by saying that they had to help me find this cache, or we would not go for a walk in the tunnel...
After leaving the herds that were walking the trail, we arrived at GZ to scan the layout before us... Hooley Dooley, you're not kidding when you say Rock Garden From the photos in the gallery I initially got the 2 trees wrong as they are alot bigger now than from 15 years ago, so after searching for a little while in the wrong spot, I changed my idea & begun searching elsewhere... The kids were a little more to the east than I, & right in the rock zone, when DangerMouse09 was yelling out that he could see something blue He was reaching in with his whole body in the air trying to reach it, then he arose very happy with himself & holding the cache up high! Well Done, little mate [:X]
After browsing through the contents & taking a couple of snaps, we placed the cache back with a bit more ease than the retrieval method before heading back the way we came... We then ventured on through the tunnel, before seeing what other caches we could tackle whilst out here

Was going to replace cache container today but after falling on the way down the bank to the cache and cutting wrist on a rock then spending half hour looking for the cache. I decided to call it off. the original cache seems to missing so rather then replace it i will just archive it.
thanks

Out with the family for a walk and we decided to head down the hill side for this one.
I took some finding and the spoiler pic led us astray somewhat, but we found it in the end.
The cache contents moldy with a lot of water in the bottom of the container, we did not go further than the log book on top and the TB that we took to move on as we did not have any suitable bag to carry the mess out in. Cache lid is cracked and could do with some TLC by the cache owner.
Thanks for the climb

This one took some hard scrambling to get to but it didn't take too long to see a glimpse of blue from the cache once I was looking from the right angle. Picked up TB Dropped TB TFTC
Found it after 20 minutes of spider webs and dead tree branches. Cache is VERY waterlogged and needs maintainance.
No joy here ... didn't ahve any trouble getting to or leaving GZ, but didn't find a cache while I was there. Thanks for the hide rayozzy. I will be back.
There's been a fire here recently and I think a tree has fallen on where the cache is. The owner might need to take a look.
Found it after quite a bit of clambering over the entire rock pile !! Definately watch out for all the spiders !!
Detour on the way back from a sensational Eagle View walk. The spiders helped that black rock to protect the cache:). TFTC and the adventure.
No luck for us here today. Searched everywhere but there are just to many black rocks!
A very nice place to go for a cycle though...

We (Papa and Detour Junior) looked for about a quarter of an hour before giving up when Mama and Nano got bored back up on the track. Plenty of possible hiding places here, but no luck this time!! TFTC anyway
Fifth and final find of the morning on a hills cache run with The Machman. Spotted the cache after about 5min of hunting. As others have mentioned its a few metres east of the GZ. TFTC.
An early mornings Caching run up in the hills with Spatial Riq.
Some great walks and stunning viewpoints can be had from all over this area, however we seemed to miss most of them, spending our time bush bashing, clambering up steep hills and down slopes and gullies, going from WP to WP, trying to clear up some ancient multi's and Puzzles in this part of the John Forrest.
Certainly was fun, I'm just glad its not mid summer.!!!
We took a very hard route to this, cutting across the hill and down the valley from a previous find.
It may of been shorter but i don't think we saved much time !!
Anyway, the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks for the adventure !!

This is my 1st ever find! Nice to put a difficult one as a first under your belt.
This was my 3rd attempt at this site and had to line up the trees from previous photos before I found it.
According to my device GZ was 7.5 m away from the find.
TNLN signed the log.
Good location but be wary of loose boulders!

Thanks for the challenge as suggested the waypoint is out a touch. Lots of fun - watch out for the ants
Found during a 4 hour bush walk round the park. Took a wee while to find this one as it was a bit away from where the GP said. Almost gave up but after a wider search found the cache.

Found this cache whilst on a walk with our Dutch visitors. Was a bit of a task having to climb over all the rocks, but thankfully I didn't take too long to find the cache. TFTC. TNLN.
Groan, one of our favourite locations (not) for a cache - a pile of rocks. We worked in tandem from the bottom on the pile going back and forth. Was so relieved when geo-hubby called that he had spotted the container. However it was 9 mts from where our gps wanted us to be. Thanks rayozzy.
The challenging search was well worth the buzz on finding this cache. The two trees photo is helpful, only now there's only one tree. Took a geocoin. TFTC rayozzy!
Addled.one found this one after half hour of us looking and some help from previous logs. TNLN. TFTC.
Fourth cache search of the day with grevus.in oz and so far only one find. Took a fair bit of rummaging and couldn't have done it without the previous logs about the coords being out, but we did find and had a ball. TNLN TFTC!
Try as we might, and despite six pairs of eyes, we just couldn't find this cache. Beware the ants...they bite!

Found it after widening the search area (6m) from GZ (based on our GPS device).
Best to work from bottom of rocks upwards.

Had a go at this one the other day without luck, started at the bottom today and found it this time without drama. it was a bit further down the pile than my GPS wanted us to look. Nice tidy cache and a nice spot. TFTC.
joined forces with mr and mrs marmalade and kids.. great spot with a creek running through close by.......
TFTH - nice scramble over the rocks with Greenmount Andy & Geokids

We were joined by Fangorn4 and their newbies but still no luck. Our hungry tummys needed lunch and we left the others to it, great to hear you had success Fangorn4.

Found after long search. Other newbies gave up search, hope they come back for another try! Fangorn4 and newbie caching friends.
Wow! Pretty tricky spot, just as hard to retrieve... Took nothing, left army men. TFTC
Luckily I stumbbled upon this quite quickly which was good because it was raining at that time. Cache is still nice and dry.

Spent far too long on this one. The stench of dead kangaroo wafting up the valley drove us away empty handed.
It amaizes me that a cache owner can leave a trackable showing in their cache for months when it is obviously missing. Please mark Mischief's Crew's March Madness Geocoin MISSING.
I looked at the notes and thought "How hard can it be to find something hidden under a black rock?" Well it's amaizing how many things you can find under a black rock before you eventually find what you are looking for. It was easy enough to slip in for a look but getting out with a hundred mozzies chasing you is not that easy.

Found on a day out with duncdonut73 and andmart. Not the easist find as the coords were 10m out on both my GPS and iphone, but didn't take too long. No sign of the TB's. TNLN TFTC
Out today with Mr and Mrs stevekellyxley, Andmart and Miss potential newbie. Didn't spend too long looking, and our newbie found it in the end. A few muggles looked over at what we were doing but didn't seem to think too much of it. On our way out, I was the only one that opted to go the long way around, avoiding the 5-star climb straight up the hill that everyone else tackled - wish I had a good camera to capture that! TFTC.

Our 4th cache on our Kal to Perth trip.
Oops took the very steep "shortcut". Found by Carl [a non geo-cacher].
Left cards took TimberWolf GeoCoin [CPVQ5C].
Woo hoo our first geocoin.
Definitely not recommended for those with babies or children unless someone is willing to wait with them.
Thanks for the cache.
Brad, Kirra and baby Jayden.

Well after searching the GZ twice today with my friends I have to say this one beat me but I will be back.
Arrived at the on this scorching 40 degree day and disturbed a huge red boomer resting under the trees. I took one look at the rocks and had one thought..... Snakes...!
Luckily in my travels up and down....and up again, all I spotted was a couple of butterflies. The co-ords from the iPhone were all over the place so resorted to the photos and logs which proved very helpful. Still took me two trips up to find it. My tip is forget about the "black" comment.... Left The Rat TB. Took nothing. Also noticed that there was only the Persistance Geocoin in the cache... TFTC!!

Wow, this one was well worth the visit... After driving around the winding streets and realising it wasn't going to get us any closer, Froglet and I trekked over to it... almost stepping on a lizard on the way. Took a bit of hunting, but the views around the area are spectacular.
Finally found a worthy place to leave the Persistence of Caching GC.

Finally after my 3rd visit I found it. Not too far up either. Phew. Left one of my International Figures; a lady from Rome @ 1ad. SL. TFTC. & i recon it was 39 deg up there. Twas still hard to find using the photos. I recon lining up with the centre tree is best.
Quick visit with the kids, didnt use the extra clues or user logs, but should have!!!
Found on a pleasant Sunday afternoon outing with the Trackka kids.
It was safe enough for kids - you just need to approach it from a sensible angle.
Took: apple stress-ball, Simpson tazo
Left: toy, Hello Kitty watch

Had a fair bit of a climb all around the rocks, but the photos helped.

We had a great day out cache hunting in JFNP. It was a beautiful day with lots of people but the place is big enough to share. I recommend the visit. Found this one afte a few minutes of hunting around. Two heads are better then one in these situations. Grabbed the three TB's (Clowing Around, $100 TB and Blazing Sun & Fun) We signed the log and left a stress ball, balloon, coin and our calling card. Great spot. TFTH and TFTC
We had been up here Sunday night rock hopping in the hope of finding the cache. However in the fading light it wasn't going to happen. So we returned in the light of day and found the cache a short distance from where we had been looking. TNLN. Thanks Rayozzy
Found this one on the way out after doing a couple of others out here. Such a lovely area, thanks to Geocaching it brought us out here. Taken Blingg's Travel Express Geocoin.
found with out gps only by map site my son found it had a ball kids loved it looking forward to next one
Nice way to enjoy Australia day: we spend the afternoon on the bike along the Railway Heritage trail. Hopped off the bikes to climb the rocks, a bit awkward with our cycling shoes. Found the cache with a little help of the spoilerphoto, there are 'some' rocks in various shades of black.
We left geocoin Japan Summer 2008 for the next cacher.

Not as easy as you may think, took me about 1/2 hour.
Disapointed as I went out there to get the TB, Mischief's Crew's March Madness Geocoin, that wasnt actually in there.
Location of TB needs updating.
Cheers

There were four of us looking for this one and I think we were also pretty lucky that one of us happened to look in the right direction at the right time! as there were lots of potential hiding places. Also lots of spiders around to make the hunt even more challenging. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache. Mog
Thre of the 4 drongoes spent 1/2 an hour here, and couldn't find it!!
There are so many black rocks... lol

Had a lovely walk through John Forrest NP on a drizzling day, made even more enjoyable by the caches along the way. It was a little daunting on approach to GZ, but was quickly unrocked using 3BlindEye's coords. Swapped GCs otherwise TNLN.
Thanks for the hunt, rayozzy.

I don't know what Calebreckers are on about...would have found it just with my Geosense, who needs a GPS??!!
[Australian Branch] New Geo-friend was hunting around with his "Geo-sence" with no clue that i was standing over the GZ with my GPS...let him find it anyway, more fun that way! Took laces, left bead necklace.
After coming from one DNF and then having to go straight past another cache because it was swarming with muggles, we thought this too was going to be a DNF after searching for half an hour. Out with the PDA and read the logs. One said they found it at the following co-ordinates........ . Of course the rest wasn't on the PDA, so a phonecall home and luckily someone was there to look up the logs. Plugged in these co-ords and found the cache in under 60 seconds (but I'm sure we'd looked there before!). Retrieved Psst, Infidel TB and dropped off Coast Guard GC. Thanks Rayozzy. It was a good hunt.
Forgot to drop the Coast Guard GC when we wrote the log. The GC wanted to go to a difficulty 4 cache and this is a 3.5, but it may be a while before we get to a 4 cache.
A nice way to start winter with a good walk through this beautiful park. Was about to give up the search when I finally found the cache. L: Psst Infidel TB. TN. TFTH.
We were on our way back from "Meet you halfway" cache with "usual useful gear" when we did this one. (can't be specific on the gear bit cos it would give it away for the other cache...) Anyway to cut a long story short, we found this cache easily and started heading back to the car, when i realised that my son who was carrying the cache bag, had inadvertantly left behind the "usual useful gear" item and so we had to back track to retrieve it. It was a nice day for a walk though, so didn't mind too much.

A recent bushfire came pretty close to the cache but it escaped unscathed, and so did we. Found the prize and signed the log, no swaps. Thanx for the hunt.
Got this one on my second attempt. You definitely need to use the co-ords listed in the logs below if you want to find it in less than 20 minutes.
It was a pretty warm day and the heat was just beating off the rocks. By the time I had found the cache and scrambled back up to the road, I was absolutely dripping!

Not the first to log a DNF, and i have the feeling i wont be the last! Came stright from work today, and walked past the "turning" point on the old railway track, and came to a reasonable track leading down. As it was late afternoon, the sun lit up every spider web in the area, by the time i got to the rockpile i was fairly covered in web!
Had the chance to look around for about 20 mins before a group of people decided to stand above me and admire the view..no doubt wondering what the heck i was up too..they in turn attracted a crowd, who were also interested in this guy sat below them amongst a pile of rocks..After about half an hour of just sitting there..(couldnt continue searching could i?) I gave it away. I must admit..i have now read all the logs below, so my next attempt "Should" be more rewarding. I came into this one with just the co-ords, but will come armed with clues next time.
