My heart sank when I saw all the flax but actually it was an easy find, TFTC.
My brother worked on the farm down here at Omaui when he first left school; I used to visit and explore the area including the Mokomoko.

Our last day in Southland before heading north again.
A trip to Bluff and some more local ones completed our caching in the area.
Thank you to all cache owners for placing your caches.

Our last day today and spreading our wings a bit. The weather played its part and a good number of finds was achieved. Thank you to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches.
A nice quick find thankfully. The road was a little soft, but a pretty good surface though. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee drive to Invercargill and back. Today we cruised around Bluff and South Invercargill, in the rain to start with them overcast skies.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

#10,467. My last day in Southland before flying back home to Wellington. Its been raining this morning but the rain has moved on from Bluff after I got here. I drove south to do the adventure lab and now decided to pick up a few caches down here before I head back to the city. This was one of them. Parked close by and wandered over to GZ. Again lots of long wet grass. Flax hides are not my favourite places to search. But eventually spied the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Popmac for hiding it here.
26 October 2021 12:54 pm as soon as MacPacDad heard the clue he said MacPacMum could find it, even though he found the last synk one. Tftc Popmac (maintained by pipedream)

Not Mokomoko near us in foothills of the tararuas,
I probably would not have driven along this road to locate these caches except they had been put in by a local P N cachers so i set off along the road and found all three with relative ease.
i was in invercargill for several days before moving on to Roxburgh and then the cycle trail there and finally heading to dunedin for a reunion so over these weeks i managed to locate quite a few caches
thank you B for these three caches down here

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 45th of hopefully many ... we had been down to Bluff to walk part of the Foveaux Track around the base of Bluff Hill ... on our way back we decided to take a detour, as you do, to grab this cache ... a quick find, sign the log & replace ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,779 for us.
#18912. Knocking off another missing minute was the reason for this side trip. Made a quick find and then headed back to SH1. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our first full day in and around Invercargill. With rain predicted for the next few days, we decided to concentrate on caches which needed walks.
Another missing minute found, so time to turn back and head for our accommodation. TFTC.

Easy find with a few nice trinkets. Traded a couple out, we walked from end of Mokomoko rd, probably wouldn’t recommend that - not the most interesting walk but the area is lovely!!
Cache 45 quick park and grab, If you can find a dry area to park that is, road side was a little soft today. There is current bushes growing in the area around the cache so just be aware you may get a little scratched up grabbing it . Nice dry log with a bit of SWAG. Rock bug added to cache T4TC
Yah found this one hopefully the next person finder enjoys the treat in the container
Luckily a quick find in the first hint item otherwise I was going to hop back in the car and onto the next one. A bit thorny in there but cache all good. TFTC

On the way to Omaui for a walk along the coast with the dogs thankyou for bringing us out this way! and tftc
Ten days off in a row for the price of two leave days, how fabulous! Packed up the whanau for an adventure and headed south. Our original plans were slightly thwarted by water, but we made the trip into an adventure tikitour with a few caches along the way. Signing the logs as Team Polak or TP for brevity. Great fun, thanks to all the CO’s for the entertainment!!
We found an invers painted rock and are rehiding it in bluff the cache was a fun one.
A Dad day out going for a drive to Omaui. Stopped and checked out the newly positioned hide in a good dry place, the cache was in good condition. The pole has had it's number called for replacement like hundreds of other poles affecting other LPC caches in the southern area. Not too obvious eh for a quick easy find.

*Found 10 Oct 15 Log was a little damp, bags were not sealed. Found wee pencil on road side of the carpark, thought it might belong in cache; it got sharpened, replaced bags and re hid cache with a rock. Dday TFTC Popmac*

Cache in good shape, has trade goods, easy find. Left gold coin, took wood marble
Down to visit my brother and judge Dahlias at Bluff flower show. Had time for a maintenance check while down this way, all OK.
A quick find, which I was pleased about as campers were leaving Omaui Camp. However the container was too wet not to do something about it so spent a bit longer. Am sure I got some looks bring parked here.
Container is now dry and contents are in a new small snap lock bag. Seals look OK, so not sure why so much water in, it's not been that long since the last find.
Thanks for the smilie.

After a few days of very intense work activities, I had one last full day free in Invercargill before I head back home to Nelson tomorrow. I headed off early for a full day out caching to see how many caches I could find. The weather was threatening but apart from a cold wind and occasional drizzle it really wasn't too bad. I spent a while checking the wrong hint object before I checked the right one. TFTC, Biggles.
Day 6 of our south of south NZ caching blitz, having returned from stewart island, mr and mrs chosen1978 are back on the job of escorting around the local area. Traversing the country lanes, lovely countryside. Tftc
Quick stop on our way to the beach. Few cars passed while looking for the cache. TFTC.
When arriving here there were a couple of stock trucks parked nearby. Decided to carry on to get another cache further on hoping the trucks might move on. Came back a few minutes later and they were just departing. Parked up and quickly retrieved the cache. All in order. TFTC
Made a quick detour on our way back from Bluff to look for the ones out toward Omaui. This was a quick find on the way. TFTC
I had a free transfer-a-car booked from Queenstown to Christchurch, so obviously I decided to head back to Christchurch via Invercargil to get a few "must have" caches. Teamed up with mrdan01 for this trip.
At the CO is my father-in-law I would have been in the "bad books" if I didn't locate this cache while in the area today.
Now, off to Dunedin!
Thanks for the cache

Day one of a weekend road trip with 2wombles. He had booked a free rental car between Queenstown and Christchurch, and was nice enough to invite me along for the ride! Naturally we decided to take the scenic route - via Invercargill and Dunedin, but unfortunately, we had to cut out the Catlins due to a flight delay at the start of the trip. I really enjoyed getting out to this part of our country that I don’t get to see very often, and there were plenty of laughs along the way too! TFTC (3507)
Read the recent posts and found the cache in a grassy hide well hidden. It was almost buried. Some grass was caught in the seal and we gave the cache a wipe out. The little woman went looking for a rock big enough to hide it while I remade the temporary hide. The poles are slowly getting replaced along the line, and it may only be a matter of time before the old chipped one's time is due. Went down to the estuary for a look before tea and were soon joined by farmer-muggle stopped for a quick chat. SL tftc
Quick find. Watched little red car drive on wrong side of road approaching hill towards Omaui. Bloody tourists!
With work on power poles in this area, the cache has been moved about 5 metres - see hint. Thanks Lions.v.Lambs for notifying me.
Its day 14 of our journey with another week to get home. With Rakiura Walkway, my objective bagged, its around Invercargill today. Heading back towards Bluff first.
Another one snagged and tagged. Cheers

Today we made a trip to Stewart and Ulva Island. We had a great time on the islands and spotted a lot of different birds. On the islands and on our way back to Invercargill, we searched for some caches on the way and explored nice tracks and locations because of these caches are hidden at these places!
Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining these caches.

Just as we had hopped back in the car, a local came walking around the corner. Found with debsnz
A visit on a free morning before lunch. Still gets a bit damp in there. Dried con and replaced ripped open bag. Log coping with conditions. Hide loaded with stones to provide some levitation and drainage from depths.
Been visiting Southland to pick up the 2001 caches that I need for the "Old School Challenge - South Island GC31YPP" and gathering a few others while going about it. Log is a bit damp.
