Sadly couldnt find, but we found this string on the ground with a pipe on it.
Hunted around for quite a while, found nothing. Last successful finds were over two years ago and they said the cache was broken. then. Is this cache still active & in place?
Did a naughty and skipped the ‘track closed’ fence to give it a go as it hasn’t been attempted in a year, super muddy at GZ so decided to not give it a go. Would be nice to attempt again when the track is ‘open’ and we know the cache is there and ready to go
Couldn't find and reading previous logs this could need maintenance/be missing.
A few friends were keen to get our fitness up for a big hike coming up. Did not expect to go caching today but I really should have known better since I was going with Keylev! We were getting these caches for me whether I wanted to or not, and you know what, I ain't complaining!
I found the cap for this cache and it was well destroyed. I couldn't find the rest of it so definately need maintenance

Out for a walk today with a few other team SEAC members whom had found these caches on another vist.....Had just missed a massive down pour of rain, which we later discovered was the edge of a mini tornado that swept through Papatoetoe/Manukau....luckily missing us.....
With the rain clearing to reveal an awesome day for a tramp/walk and to clear up the caches along this trail.....
A little searching, then found by Mrs stik-a-crane. might need some TLC as we found not as it should be and much easier to sign in....

Took a few minutes to locate, but we found it without much issue.
Cache no longer requires water to sign. Pretty normal cache now.
We signed and tucked back away.
Thanks!

Out on a walk with some of Team SEAC enjoying the weather and getting our fitness up for a planned Tongariro Crossing next year.
Decided to leave this one for the way back as we were not sure we had enough of the required tool and didnt want to run out. Finished the walk, stopped for lunch and headed back. Got to the right spot and found we didn't actually require any of the tool after all! Not sure if its slightly broken?
Thanks for the cache.

Some member of Team SEAC are in training for the Tongariro Crossing and were organising outings around hikes in order to prepare for the trip. This was one of those hikes, a 10km return walk from Point View Drive to Shelly Beach and back. Of course, you can't just do the walk and not grab a few caches that are on offer along the way.
This cache might need a little bit of maintenance. When we got to the cache, one of the members of our party was able to just reach in and pull the entire cache out freely. Once that was done, all we had to do was tip the inner container out in order to retrieve the log. No water required. Anyway, the log was signed as Team SEAC in order to save log space and the cache replaced where it had come from.

Out with some of TEAM SEAC doing some training walks in preperation for doing the Tongariro crossing. It didn't take long to find this. One of our team was able to easily remove the container from where it's located and tip out the inner container. The inner container is broken and certainly not water tight. We suspect that some maintenance might be needed on this cache. The log was a complete sodden mess. We replaced the log and then signed it. TFTC.
Had been here before with no luck. Came along today, Saturday afternoon, ventured off the path into a great little watery area, and soon found. Not attached, and the inside tips out, so sadly not working as initially intended. Log paper is mush, as others have noted. But I wouldn't have ventured here if not for the cache, great place to explore. TFTC

Great hide — thank you for placing this for us to find on a beautiful day.
Found with TeamCacheventures but logging now.

Eventually got there needs some maintenance. Cool spot and Mr 7 did lots of exploring while we were here
Came prepared with plenty of water anyway, only to find the cache, horizontal, and able to be tipped out. Log is mulch. TFTC, it would be awesome if it was up and flowing again.
Yeah found it but needs maintenance. I'm not sure it's where it originally was placed as the coordinates seemed off. Will send pic.
Yay! What a nice cache to find while with the Geodog today on our walk! Well done to all that has happened this year in 2018!
At GZ, we could actually get the container out with no water, hmmmm.
But still a cool cache to find! I’ve seen lots of these ones on YouTube but never found one!
Well done with your efforts put into this cache!

My Geolad and myself have been visiting Auckland together for the first time in 10 months, and today was our last day before he flies back home so wanted to do something we hadn't done before, so ended up walking the Mangemangeroa Walkway.
It was a lovely day, and a very pleasant walk to GZ. I hadn't planned our journey, and it was only as we walked towards GZ that I was reading the description for the first time.
Hmmmm, no spare container on us. But maybe a way to achieve the result differently. OK, so got to GZ and there were 2 water containers lying on the ground nearby. Woohoo, we can do it properly after all! After a few minutes of searching I had located the cache, but was a bit disappointed to see that one didn't need to make any effort to remove the container, and that once removed the container itself is quite damaged and the contents very damp.
But managed to sign the log and replace all exactly as found ready for the next cacher.
Thank you for placing this cache.

I think the whole idea of this hide is no longer there at GZ. But find it anyway. Log wet. Thanks
Took a small amount of searching and ended up getting rather muddy on a wet night out here but one of the more enjoyable finds I've done. TFTC.
We signed the log meetup. Meet Sophia (yorkshirekiwi83) at the meetup GZ , and were joined by 2 newbies wanting to know more about geocaching. It was a hot day and my new camelbak was defiantly handy. Its actually a nice walkway, and I enjoyed walking it and grabbing caches.
The newbies grabbed this one, I was getting pretty tired by now lol

Cool cache contents a bit too wet to sign but lovely location thanks for hiding it here. Tftc.
GPS all over the place. After reading activities the penny dropped and the cache was soon in hand. Taping was disappointing as I'd carried my bottle of water all the way.b Picked up TB to help it on its journey.
In the area to run an errand and decided to collect some geocaches and get some walking in. Found GZ easily and even with the rain there are still containers out there to help with the task. Great spot and container. TFTC
Cool design but may need some repair work. Perhaps people not retrieving correctly. Great hide tftc
There are plenty of containers at GZ, any more and the area will be in need of a CITO. Mechanism worked perfectly. TFTC
5.25pm -Today was a numbers day for us with hopefully most of them being drive by caches.
I worked out a route plan, met the Squirrel at Te Poi and made South Auckland our target.
Many interesting array of finds and tasks to collect caches with the odd one not a drive by.
At first we thought this cache might be a drive by but not to be. We took the direct route, bit of a search and we found it. We knew what we had to do and quickly had log sheet. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Short term goal: reach milestone 6000th find... It' all about the numbers, baby!
Another diversion from the Scenic Route... This turned out to be less of a park and grab than we first thought. Since it was described as a water cache and we had the materials, we decided to give it a go... Gap found a convenient park, and we went for it...
It didn't take too long to execute, and our third water cache was high and dry in next to no time... TFTC.

Although I used the ingenious water method somebody has scratched the tape on the lid so the container can be pulled out which is disappointing considering all the work the cache owner has put into this

Decided to venture to this area to round off the year and pick up one of the oldest caches in Auckland. Lovely walk to GZ , after a few false starts we found the hide. Thankful that it has been dry recently as we were not suitably foot attired As the retrieval instructions were being read kiwiscot pulled the cache out making life so much easier. Condition all good. TFTC and the effort put in to its placement.
Didn't need tott to retrieve this one. Nice big cache container for trade items. Lovely little grotto.
What FnJax said... lovely little grotto Thanks for taking me here and thanks for the clever and generously sized cache. Favourite from me
Took advantage of a fine sunny day before it gets too hot. There were three muggles sitting on the board walk so we pretended to read our phones. I then jumped into the bush for a quick peek. No nothing. The muggles then left. I asked them what they had been picking and it turned out it was a Chinese herb. Once they had gone jumped back in up the bank - shit lost my phone!! Finally found it breathing a huge sigh of relief and luckily had only just stopped from landing in the sloppy mud. Finally located the cache and made a quick sign. The log has disintegrated (very wet) so I have left a small piece out of my notebook in the meantime.
A good day collecting caches while Granny helps with two week old grandson who lives nearby. A well made cache in a nice spot. Thanks.
Out with SN and M58 enjoying a mid-week walk. M58 came prepared for this cache - however when the cache was located we did not require any of her TOTT. Loved this little waterfall so close to the track.
Great idea but shame we couldn't do the water thing ! Pleasant secluded area a little off the track!
Thanks TeamHaining !
Thanks TeamHaining !
Luckily I had sussed that we may need something to hold water here and came prepared but Jag50 spied the hide and was able to access the cache easily without us having to use any. A great little hide by a cool little waterfall
Quick find. Glad we didn't need any water! Log could do with replacing as very wet. SL TFTC
Having previously visited the top of the track on Saturday Morning, and as today is my day off, I decided to return to the Mangemangeroa Walkway to pick up a few of the caches that are on the map. So after parking at the top, I made my way down onto the track under the watchful eyes of local puckeko, sheep, and alpaca. I am very familiar with the track as I run here often, (in fact I think it is one of East Auckland's best kept secrets) but it was only on Saturday that I became aware that there were caches here. Anyway, after passing under the traffic bridge from the top of the track, it wasn't too far to GZ. Thank you TeamHaining for this cache as even though I am very familiar with this track, I didn't know that this small but serene area existed. I also loved the creativity around this cache. The log book was quite wet, but I put it back carefully and so should survive for a while yet. So after a couple of muggles had gone past, and after the rain had stopped, I got back on the track and was on my way.
Found while exploring this trail with Bennett24. Really pretty area, great cache, thanks!
This one took way longer than it should have done due to an incorrect GPS position. After plenty of bush bashing in all directions Mrs B checked on the phone and that didn't help either. She then read back the previous logs and twigged onto something that pointed in the correct direction. Eventually cache was found. As mentioned you no longer need water for this one, which is a good thing as we were not prepared. The log is wet but still could just be signed. Tinytree rescued the TB which has been there for sometime. TFTC.
A favourite one for us, love the location and the inventive cache. So many people walk past here every day without realising they are so close to this little haven. TFTC
Didnt find this at first but got it on my way back. Dont know how I missed it. Neat little waterfall. No longer any need for water or air. Fingers did the trick. Still a great cache though. TFTC
We are staying with friends in Auckland towards the end of our Northland holiday. The kids are were content to puddle at home today so I headed out to do the Mangemangeroa walk. First use of my geocachi kit box as a bucket! This is the third one of this type I've found. TNLN SL TFTC!
Nice location. Wouldn't have visited this beautiful area if it wasn't for the cache. A pity the water wasn't required after after all. Thanks to teamHaining for the cache.
Cool little secret area, my kids loved it especially the tiny waterfall coming down. The container attachment is broken so water is unfortunately no longer needed but a great cache none the less, TFTC!
I had a few hours to spare this morning before I had to head to the airport and home. I decided to try and walk the Mangemangeroa walkway from here as far as the R2D2 cache and back. It took me a bit less than 3 hours car to car and I really enjoyed the variety of caches I found along the way. As per previous logs, the water retrieval method is not required to access the cache. In fact I'd actually advise against pouring any water into the outer container as the inner container is cracked and fragile and its contents would get soaked. Very nice idea for the cache anyway. TFTC, Biggles.
As per previous finder we were able to retrieve without water. Nice wee spot to stop and have a drink ourselves though when the sun finally decided to show its face for the day
TFTC. Out with pricefamily6 exploring the mangemangeroa. What a clever idea. Shame the tube is broken.
Out with Biartch79 and Drulisa, doing some caches along the Mangemangeroa track. We thought this was a lovely area for a cache. Unfortunately, the inner container was split, and the outer container looks as though it needs to be reattached too, as it was kind of hanging, which meant that we could literally tip the cache out. This one needs a bit of TLC.
Inner container split both sides needs to be replaced lid came off easily no need for water did tighten the cache In place so woudnt get lost for you
Found this lovely little area only to be disappointed by not having to use the water this cache looks great plan to be back when matinance has been performed to see how it works. Logged with Drulisa & Newlynfam. Tftc
Brought water with me but there was a good supply nearby.
Took a long time to find the container but then soon had the cache
As already listed this cache needs a new internal container.

Out this way this afternoon for a walk and a couple of caches. Having been here before a couple of years ago we headed to this one first. Took a few minutes to figure out where the cache was as for us, the coordinates were a little out. Once at GZ, we soon had the cache in hand. Cache needs some TLC as it has a hole in it but the logbook is still nice and dry. A nice spot, TFTC!
Since I already dragged to bottles of water on my back to all the other caches (why did I not think of starting here??), I continued along the path further in this direction,. GPS would have had me jumping in the mangroves, but common sense prevailed, and I was soon at the right gz... Very cool spot and nice idea for cache!! The container needs repaired though, the inner part is broken and may not work as intended... TFTC!!!

Found ... Mrs McMike2012 & I decided we'd try a few more caches out East today ... parked nearby & after a bit of a downhill walk ... we were soon at GZ ... luckily I had my water bottle with me & soon had the cache in hand ... signed off & returned. The inner plastic container (tennis ball tube?) has split up the side & I'm not sure how much longer it will last. Deserves a Favourite Point from us. Took a TB:LN:SL. TFTC. #739 for us.
We were caching along this walkway yesterday and realised we didnt have the required tool (pays to read descriptions first!). So returned this morning for an early walk along the mangroves and to complete some of the other caches going the other way towards Shelley Beach. Approached GZ and Mr NZT, armed with a 2L milk bottle from the recycling bin (never one to do things by halves!!!), completed the formalities and signed the long.
We dropped off Whiskers TB and picked up the honeymoon TB to take south with us later this week. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely walkway, which we have often passed by, but for geocaching, would never have stopped to enjoy! Noted tha the outer cache container was a little damaged, could use some TLC, but everything was dry today TFTC!

A nice secluded spot, dribbled by and soon had it flushed out, always enjoy these types of hides, thanks for the water works cache.
As with a few caches we found on this day, it took a while for the gps to settle. Cool little spot and cool cache!

Easy find once found the right place. I took tb and sharmander put one in to move on that she has had for a while. Very well designed. Tftc
What a great cache on one of our favourite walkways. Walked from Shelley Beach and picked up a number of new caches. TFTC
I understood the description being close to the dripping 'waterfall' which was correct but some how I passed right by it without seeing it and so searched far and wide; coming back to my senses and the description I finally saw the flamin' thing, I had passed it within inches earlier!! Had my required amount of water with me plus a little more just in case. I agree with earlier comments that the fragile plastic container which holds the cache has a long crack along its length, a potential water leak! I can see that the twisting required to undo the lid has caused the crack. But I love the work that has gone into this, a fav from me.
Nice little cache. We had water on us so only took a second to retrieve the log. The internal containet is cracked right down one side. Did not impact on its operation but may let in water over time. TFTC.
Thanks for all the positive feedback. Had a report that it was cracked - can anyone comment on this.
With some mates taking a stroll on the walkway (or a skip depending on your preference had a wee look around then reread cache description and hey presto..what a simple but cool idea this cache is and such a nice gz too ! Thanks
out with Alligatornz and lochnessmonsta. nice one... love the site and the engineering. i am trying my new GPS and that gave me a great way to practice using it. TFTC
its reputation invited us to GZ, little bit of wandering signal had us in circles, but then the one who was mucking around on their phone found the inviting zone of acheivement.... mmm seems we watched the same videos.. ha ha... really must get on with the more evil version of this that ive been plotting... wonder how many mouths have tried the pnuematic method.. that must be like kissing lots of strangers? lol
How cool! Took a photo to share with friends. Figured it out. A clue as to the rough whereabouts of the cache would have been handy, but tracked it down. Here with my girlfriend who is about to sign up for caching too. Thanks! Gets a favourite from me.
After finishing up work down south this afternoon I decided that some caching was in order. In with the great sunny if cool weather a trip into the country and along the coast seemed just the ticket. I was not wrong and was rewarded with some great views today. I took a few minutes to find the cache. Read the cache page and all was soon revealed. I proceeded to see if the pneumatic method would work. No dice. And I'm afraid that the engineering praise was a bit premature as the contraption is not securely attached and came away. On further inspection I found the cache itself to have a very long crack. Might need a little work back in the shop. Lovely little spot. Cheers for the cache placement!
