Day 380 ( Saturday 12th ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Loxton today. A total of 17 for the day and 6765 the trip. A grand total of 16,733 caches. TFTC
As I am getting older and running out of time, I have decided I will take off on my own to cache in different areas of our vast country as my NGW (Non Geocaching Wife) has no interest in caching.
I have been in Loxton for five days of full on caching with suscoe, au.fait and Phetlern but suscoe and Phetlern have hit the road for home so that leaves only au.fait & the ageing Bushfire to head out to do the wandering heroes Fishy Tales and a few other caches.
I am afraid that for the next few days my logs are going to be a lot of cutting and pasting but that does not take away the effort that the owners have put in to provide these caches for us to find so please accept my thanks. With close to 200 caches placed I know how much work is involved with not only placing them but the ongoing maintenance.
Very cold morning but we kept plodding on cache after cache until the day warmed up.
Thanks, River Dolphins for placing this cache.

That building certainly had us mystified as to its true purpose Both Phetlern and Suscoe headed for home early this morning so Bushfire and I headed off to see if we could land a very big fish. We were very successful at this, much more so than catching those wet and slippery ones. We were so successful that we also had time to find many more caches around the district too. Another great day with the ever helpful Bushfire even if I did nearly freeze early in a bitingly cold wind I have much to thank him for as he provided the vehicle, did all the driving, provided fruit cake, and a big warm jacket which saved my life, to say nothing of his good company TFTC River Dolphins
What a strong building nearby! I wonder when it was created? The cache was spotted from the car and we were happy to add our name to it. Thanks for placing this here, we would have never discovered this area otherwise!
LiB & I were doing a few more caches after completing the "On Your Bike" series before heading home...

Nice time with the boys after church. They didn't take too long to find it!
An interesting structure overshadowed by what looks like some sort of tower on the hill, pity we could not get a closer look at it, cache was quickly found today
Out today with 2beez on a geoing mission. Firstly to pick up some interesting caches while on holidays but today's mission is #1000 for Crack'n'LeeLee!

Found myself in SA for other reasons this month, and McPhan agreed to join me for the trip back. The main purpose was the Yorke P geoart, but we finished these faster than planned, so had a relatively leisurely day around the Riverland heading east. We'd been though here several times over the years, and had largely cleaned the place out. Some great caches today, the product of an active caching community.
Sorry for the relatively generic logs, but after 900 caches in 6 days, I'm largely relying on the GPS record.
Thanks River Dolphins for the cache.

10062 and 51st of 90 found today.
Apologies for the generic logs. I usually try to write at least something different for each find but with 900 finds in 6 days there are a lot of memeory gaps.
I appreciate the efforts put in by all hiders and the maintenace as well. The efforts of South Australian cache hiders is why this is our 5th SA Odyssey - you keep putting them out and we'll keep coming over. (Power trails help to okay [:o)])
Riverland is a great area and having friends in the area helps too - and many thanks to Steve and Michelle for putting us up.

Adelaide trip September 2015. I spend five days driving to Adelaide taking some more remote routes across the river land area and exploring new places along the way. Day 3. More outback travel along the Murray from Lock 8 to Moorook finishing the mail route and visiting Berri and Loxton.

Today is day three of our trip away. We set off for Berri to spend 3 days caching the Riverland area, joined by earthlight and Gwen from The X-Trailers. This was a good opportunity to find (or DNF) caches while trialling out our new tent and camping accessories, gearing up for when we head off to the QLD Mega at the end of March. We started out in temperatures of 38ºc before that first evening brought light showers, although not enough to dull the 41ºc temp for day two. Day three was a much nicer day as the day cooled down to a nice 28ºc. We managed 200+ finds on this trip. On day two we found caches in 3 states in 1 day being SA, VIC & NSW, that was quite a highlight. No snakes were spotted, guess it was too hot for them but we had one roo bound slowly across the road in front of us. Next trip back here will be with the boat, there are plenty of river caches to hunt for and naturally all the ones we didn't have time for. We found this one not where we had GZ but expanding the search area soon had cache in hand.TFTC

After reeling in the mysterious bluefish with our caching friends Suscoe, there was time left to collect a few more smilie faces before heading to a special Birthday lunch for Mrs S. We are more familiar with Pyap being the name of a paddle steamer - perhaps there is a connection.
Thanks to River Dolphins for the hunt.

Suscoe was headed out for a day of caching wandering eventually to the North West of Loxton in the good company of Phetlern. We were heading to a special lunch for Mr.S's birthday.
This was our 45th find of the day.
It was a beaut day with loads of sunshine, a gentle breeze keeping things pleasant and lots of fun.

Well I ended up in Pyap this morning, looking for a place to abandon geomobile and go for a bike ride
Nowhere to abandon geomobile here, but I had passed a place nearby
So I headed in for a quick cache find, before getting on with the rest of me caching day

After a couple of failed visits previously was nice to walk straight up to the cache this time! Was amazed to see a family of roos just sitting on the road nearby for several minutes. Took ball chain, left a pretzel. Cache #1,950.
Good to see Pyap has a cache now. Well done.
Found with the WAFF group - teams [blue] Waldron & Astro, four-fun and Freddo [/blue] on a weekend full of fun, dust, plastic, and clear blue skies. The boys used their combined geo-skills to locate and carefully replace this cache and some of the others nearby.
Thanks to River Dolphins and clear skies from TeamAstro.

Touring the Riverland and hoping to tackle some caches. Headed out from Loxton today and started at the Banrock station winery and then worked backwards to camp.
Enjoyed some great Wattle seed scones, jam and cream at the winery before retracing our steps.
Then to find some caches to continue our geostreak whilst exploring the area before returning to our caravan and cat.

Yep, as Mrs B noted it was down to "Moneydorks" coordinate update that we found this one. Original posted co-ords are way, way off! But we found it and that's all that matters. (The area looks a bit feral these days. I was half expecting "Dualin' Banjos" to start up!

You are too clever for me. Based on the coordinates, terrain and diffiuculty ratings, and in the absence of a clue, I decided it was up high, so drove home to get a ladder. This proved to be a waste of time. I did briefly investigate the spot that was about 20 metres away, but given the distance and the many possible hiding spots decided to give in for now. Just read Moneydork's log, so now know that this is probably where I need to look and will return again at some stage.
PS don't think that my friends who live at Pyap, know that it has been abandoned.
