T-Tech and I are staying with Brother Colin in Toowoomba for the weekend, and today's plan is to attempt all of the SSE caches in one day, as well as get 120 finds in one day. Happily all was achieved.
We took a detour out to Oakey for a lunch break and to visit the two caches here. However, both of them were DNFs

If there is such a thing as geo-foreplay, this particular piece of machinery would be feeling very happy today, hehehe. A small group of us searched for quite some time, covering what I am still sure was sure was every inch of its body... pushing, poking, prodding and stroking... to no avail. I guess some caches are just less responsive than others!?! LOL Oh well, we didn't find it, even after trying many geo-sutra positions. Perhaps next time... if there is one... I don't have much love for these types of cache.
Seriously though, TFTC, and I will try again some time. I might need to put a parental advisory warning on my logs by then too....

Too good for us, but the object in question has a very nice, shiney, newish, unblemished paintjob, and its obviously missing its hubs/wheel assemblies. With al.ist 2 months since the last find, has this work been done since then?

The plan for today was to meet up with vennfamily, in regions west of Toowoomba, in the hope of securing a FTF on a SSE cache that had previously eluded us & then continue on radiating out towards Dalby & Cecil Plains to see what our caching 'country cousins' had on offer.
Having successfully completed our SSE missions it was time to focus on the 'locals'!
A nice quick find for Geo-Mamma here.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

A visit with the new man and his dog Lyla. An extra pairs of eyes helped me find this one, and a few extra dog kisses in the process. Tftc
Heading north for the Alice Springs Event at Easter we explored this area using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment

I'm trying to fill in my geocaching calendar so it's time to clean up all these random caches I haven't gotten around to yet. I decided this would be today's target. Parked in the side street only to be confronted with three blokes painting the war memorial wall. Great!! There wasn't a whole lot of work going on so I sat and waited to see what they would do...I was egged on (by text) by a fellow crazy who has the same geo-goal as me to "be bold and go for it!" Ummm...No! More waiting and eventually two headed off towards the buildings and one drove off in the truck. I moved the car onto the main street closer to GZ and headed over. I have deliberately avoided this one as I usually have no luck with these. Using a tip I read in a log only last night I soon discovered what I came for...Amazing!! Well...it was not in the first place I looked and it was not the nasty container I had suspected. No sooner had I got back in the car then the two painters returned and wandered around the corner of the memorial near GZ...talk about good timing! TFTC Scarlet Devil.
We stopped to have a look at Bernborough's statue and realised we were very close to this cache. We meandered over and our hearts sank when we saw what awaited at GZ - so many possibilities in these things. However, today was our lucky day ... found it in second place we looked.
Thanks heaps Scarlet Devil.

This was a sneaky little bugger. Livnit decided to sit and troll. She came back with advice and after a short search came away with a smiley. Thanks for this tricky one

These types of hides have not been happy hunting grounds for us in the past so I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the first place that I looked. TFTC.
Went for a very quick lap of Oakey. Parked up nearby and saw the cache nearby. After a quick look around the cache was found. Great hidey spot. Said a thank you to our fallen soldiers. Signed the log and replaced. Thanks for the cache!
Just heading to gz when young bloke walked over to sit at table in full view of our search. We opted to join said young bloke who quickly moved on leaving us to our search. Thanks Scarlet Devil.
We thought we were going to be muggled out because as we arrived, a young muggle escaped some kind of gathering in the cultural center and can to sit nearby with his iDevice. We sat at the same table and de-grass-seeded our socks and he soon left . This left us to search in peace, and with the help of a mirror we soon spotted the geocache. A bit of floundering while we tried to reach it but managed to grab it and sign it safely. But then The Marble got bitten by an ant and we had to rush off to find somewhere safe for her to check she'd killed it, so we weren't able to look at the rest of the area. TFTC, Scarlet Devil. =^.^=
Out on a geocaching holiday with magpiecottage. Nice to find a cache in this spot

Oh no, it is one of those. But we are pleased to say we found a nice size container within a short time. No cobwebs were harmed in the finding of this cache. SL TFTC
We decided to spend the day as a family together caching and having a bbq lunch for our 500th find at 'Dragon's Lair'.
I love where caching takes us. The memorial still had the flowers from Remembrance Day, the canon generated a lot of interest from the 8yr old, and it was a good opportunity to talk to the kids about the past, the horrors of war and what we can do now.
Thanks for the cache today - usually we dread military equipment, but thankfully it didn't take too long to find today!

Never been to Oakey before. It was very pleasantly surprising!! .Thank you Scarlet Devil for placing this cache.
Checking out Oakey as the other half grew up here.
Nice place to stop and found quickly by geodaughter.

WOW! If I could turn back time in this town!!!! Put me back a decade or two and I would be a small child remembering my Uncle who was highly involved with the army barracks. I remember one Oakey Army day where we all got taken up in the choppers and aircraft. Being only very young it was AWESOME!!!!! I don't think that happens anymore
Happily, I managed to not look like Cher while I hunted for this one today A quick grab on my nostalgic run of town... Cache found, mark left.
Thanks for the cache and memories.... Scarlet Devil

Easy find after I had GeoHub down on the ground... Thanks Scarlet Devil
Wombat the Anthus laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runciple's Grasshopper, a tassie trekkers pathtag, a sweet - sour pathtag, a grannysmith path tag, a geo achievement 500 caches award, and an f14 Tomcat and a scotch and soda, oh, and a bundle of keyrings that I have collected since caching in WA in August 2013 (current count is 24)

Visiting family in Aubigny, we stopped by here on our way.
Mr Parko grew up in Oakey, so was lovely to find some caches here.
After a short search Mrs Parko found what we were looking for.
Thanks for the hunt Scarlet Decil

Helpful hints from previous finds had this one quickly in hand! Nice location, tftc!
Wow very good hidey spot here, took awhile but after getting on the ground finally found with Blossie TFTC
Nice early morning find on a Sunday, would be a hard one to do on a weekday with muggles everywhere! Had to do some bending down for this one! TFTC
great hidey spot. took a while to find with 5 kids in tow.
Cache seems in good order after YoungGoldFella repaired it. There is a small magnet lying around elsewhere - great decoy . TFTH

From reading the other logs I came prepared and I replaced this one as close as I could to the given co ordinates. I hope the CO is OK with this, if not let me know and I will recover it and amend my log. Very busy at this intersection as school was just about to finish for the day. I did have a really good look ad could not locate it. TFTC
looked for half hr with Kededn1 and all we found was the magnetic don't think this can be classed as a find,
Well let's start the size is obvious not selected to confuse. But I thought it would be the size I looked for. Once found I signed log and the magnet fell out. 30 mins later still not found so the cache has now got a bit if blue tack in it to hold it may pay to replace and put a bit of glue on next magnet. Sorry and TFTC
I think I get the official *FTF*.
Out and about today and on my way to the Bunya Mtns.
Just could not go past a couple of new caches.
This little series by Scarlet Devil I helped put together quite some time ago. At this spot all I did way get the coords using my GPSr. We did not place the container on the day So I had no idea where it was eventually placed.
So today I stopped by and looked under, over, crawled under and poked about in all sorts of evil places.
Eventually I phoned the CO's husband and got a vague sort of hiding spot (which turned out to be wrong anyway ) but it did give me an idea. A bit of a sit and think and then started the search again and eventually I oh so gently touched it with a finger tip in passing .. and about a full second later the brain registered that something moved back there. So a quick retrace of the hand movements ... and BINGO. And it is grey. nasty indeed.
I do like the difficultly rating but think the terrain rating can come down to a 1 as this one is accessible by someone in a wheelchair. Another fav point.
Thanks for the cache.

WOW difficulty rating looks accurate. We searched for half an hour yesterday morning without luck Lots of nooks and crannies - I never seem to have much luck with these. Thanks anyway Scarlet Devil.
Our last stop for the day and light was fading fast. It didn't look at all suspicious that geo hubby was searching the whole area by torchlight but alas nothing was found. Another day perhaps. ... Tftc anyway. Oakey is a lovely town.
Found this as part of angloj's amazing birthday race last year! Oh did we get a photo here angloj?? TFTC Scarlet Devil
Found this as part of my geocaching race. It will say FTF, but I found it last year. The official FTF is still available! This one took me forever to find.
Thanks for an amazing birthday present Scarlet Devil!
