As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
OK, so the moral of our story was that one should read the log comments. We searched the surrounds, but pretty obviously were in the wrong place. A bit of a bummer for our first home-town cache. Luckily, the walk was lovely and it was a lovely day, so we'll happily try it again. Best 4x4xQuarter will have to wait for another weekend to continue the journey north.
Took some time off from work and went out on my own.Took a wrong turn and ended up following pipeline down to the water then followed the riverbank back to the right track.Gps showed 30metre to go when I turned around to find another way down when I saw the cache.Left frisbee Took game
Found it eventually after looking under the wrong burnt but living eucalypt for 10 mins
Entered via Chesterman Cres. in Davidson (despite the advice from Richard Ames). GPS showed 350m to GZ so Dopex and I thought it would be a nice little tramp. 45 minutes later we approached GZ very dirty and scratched up from some very unforgiving bush/shrubs. GPS showed GZ as being 25m off (see above co-ords). Took the easy way home via established trails.
Swapped lonely red shoe for apple fridge magnet.

Went with barnesy. would be hard to find with out the hints due to a georeferencing error of ~20m.
took the magnetic apple , left the lonely shoe.

Walked right up to this one and found it within 20 seconds in the first place I looked... I've been meaning to do this one for quite a while, but due to park closures and more pressing engagements, this was the first opportunity I've had...
Great walk and views...
I think that the cache container could do with upgrading... It was dry inside, but something had been rusting at some point. I think its suffering from extended UV exposure...
Swapped marker fluid (which may be handy for forthcoming caches) for a Doom CD

Armed with daylight, clues, alternative co-ords and my mother, I finally managed to find this one, tackling it from the wrong direction.
Swapped in a bell and took the inflatable neck pillow.

Yes we found it,we took an Indian figure and replaced with a whistle/Ball blow toy.

Tried this one as the twilight was waning last night, with Shorty and KitPie. With only 2 LED keychain lights low on batteries (I managed to leave the huge Mag light in the car), we got to GZ with a tiny amount of light left, knowing none of the clues. Searched around for a few minutes to no avail and gave up, concerned about the lack of light for the hike back to the car.
We'll be back soon with new clues and alternative coords, 'twas a nice walk anyway.

Yes, used AlternateRoutes co-ords and found it in no time. You will be about 30m above the creek at this point. The interesting thing was that when I was on the creek, my e-Trex told me I was 47m ASL!! A curious thing. It then went down as I went back up!! How some cachers report GZ at the creek crossing is a mystery, unless they have come from the other side. Took the night shades and left a bouncy ball.

Alternate Route and myself were out caching for the afternoon. Great walk, though the co-ords appear to be out by about 20 mtrs, finally found the correct living but burnt tree and swapped an inflatable neck cushion and an apple magnet for Tic Tac's and a snow dome.

It was just like Scubadoo said.
Reckon co-ords are closer to 33 44.667 151 11.267
I had actually been close to the lcoation previously on 2 night bushwalks years ago. It looks different with the lights on.

The Geckos second and final for the day
After a short stoll along the wrong trail (my word! that's a big pipe you have there)We realised that we were in for some bush push. (I really should invest in more maps after today)
we left the pipe and headed down the hill and found a trail, crossed that and headed for the water..(really should of listened closer to what Hounddog said about this one, spent an hour looking...and not reading the clues....Mrs gecko started back without me in disgustthen calls out come over here and check this one for me!! And low and behold look at what I found!!!! we must of bush pushed past it about 20mts further along..... Top Spot worth the effort in the end..
Took the ChaosCash (only need $100 more[:(!]Would of had it if I had been allowed to raid my own cache for it...) and a tape measure...left tictacs

No. 4 for the day. 2:55 pm. Not sure what the temperature was today, but probably somewhere in the upper hot to low sweltering range or so it seemed. Been pushing it a bit hard today and was glad to have a bit of a rest under some shade for 5 mins. Took a bit of time to find this one but succeeded in the end. The elevation clue is good I think. Also I think it is best not to push your GPS under any ledges while you are climbing down (like I did) as this will put your co-ords out. When I eventually found it (more by the clues) my co-ords where somewhere between Richard's and Jezza's. I think Jezza's are probably closer. Took the starburst snakes (a poor substitute for water I know, but you can't eat a step motor) and left a tape measure and some Chaos Cash. Anyone contemplating joining a gym should do Sweet 16, Lover's Jump and R&R1 in one day first as it will give you a good idea what you will be in for. Thanks Richard from The Ginger Loon.
Well, buccos....With the fires at Pennant Hills racing down the Lane Cove River, we raced to the stash (1st mate & cabin girl). The ferocity of the attack was far worse than any fire.
Thanks Jezza, as your co-ordinates were good. We landed right on the stash, quickly exchanged a singing guitar key ring for nice juicy Starburst snakes, and retreated before the threat of the approaching fire column.
Ahoy....Good one, Monsieur Ames, but what does “R&R 1†meanâ€

This was our hardest one yet. Took a wrong turn on the Bungaroo Track, and ended up following the pipeline. Big mistake. Spent the next hour bushpushing after tags. Made it all the way to the creek, then had to climb back up to unofficial coordinates. Found easily under the burnt tree.
Liberated the electrical tape, and deposited a diary.
Gratitude to Richard

We have no idea were the elevation comes into it, the only elevation of that height was far away.
Found the burnt eucalypt tree and searched the various rock ledges under it to no avail, even though the eTrex told us we were a good 20m away.
We were confused, got bitten and scratched, and had to go so we left in disgust.

Nice and easy. Thanks. We were stumbling about in the bush and realized we had gotten onto the wrong track when we came across the right one.

A long overdue return visit to this cache for the monkeys. We took a short diversion from decoding a new cache, as we were only 800m from this cache at one stage. Made sure we had the co-ordinates pages this time, which helped us find it without problems. We realised that last time here we were only meters from the cache when we gave up! ugh! We were only one rock ledge too low. Looking under the wrong trees! Doh! Grabbed the cash and added it to our cache cash account. Taking the mouse for a test run, left some cd blanks, and some personal refreshment, needed on these balmy winter days.
An interesting cache. Found it without too much trouble. But to create an even more exiting adventure. I went down to the river and then BushPushed my way straight up the cliff to the cache. (The trail of mayhem and destruction blazed through the undergrowth will bear testiment to this. And the abrasions on the palm of my hand will bear witness to this for the next few days) The alternate coordinates are definately closer than the published ones. The BushPushette chose the easy way and climbed back up the trail to the cache after I had located it.

Found by Ray and Maya (Nomads) at 2:20PM on Saturday, June 23, 2001. Here we go again, another fine and sunny day, and a long and strenuous walk in the bush. Fortunately, having done some preliminary research, we were able to select the correct track and save ourselves some extra walking. We found the general area of the cache with the GPS and located the cache by the description given. We took the eraser and left a roll of insulation tape. We gained energy for the return trip by enjoying the space food bar from the Barrel-O-GeoMonkeys cache we found the previous night. Thanks for the challenge. Ray and Maya - Nomads.
Well, this was an interesting cache to find. Thought I'd have a go at my first international cache and I had to take this one to introduce my friends to geocaching. After wandering around for almost an hour - up, down and all around, we had narrowed down roughly where it was. I concur that the listed coordinates are out by probably 10-20m or so. As to the clue of the burnt Eucalyptus, pthoey! Hehe. Nearly every Eucalyptus was burnt! Anyway about to pack out defeated and we thought we'd try one more tree. And whattaya know? There it was. My friend Julian nearly fell down the 20ft fall below the cache getting down to the same level, but managed to grab onto some grass and hold fast till he could steady himself and crawl back up! Hoots of fun anyway. Seemed appropriate for Julian to take the No Fear keyring, and we left a couple of NZ $1 coins, and a Eucalyptus flavoured lolly. Seemed somewhat fitting. Cheers Gavin, Julian and Carla [11]

Not sure if we have time to do this one, but ran down the track anyhow. The original GPS readings are not much help. Found it easy by the description. Liked the gloves and left a toy computer. Then back to the car to get to a family party. Final cache for the day. (5 out of 5)

3 very wet GeoMonkeys, NO cache! After a confidence booster this morning at Lane Cove cache..we decided on some R&R. We took the scenic route, to take in the bridge, and waterfalls, yes there are plenty of weaterfalls, when you go bushwalking in the rain! We Slipped back across the river, and stood atop the cache, or so we thought. Our eTrex read 0.03m, and yet we still couldn't see the cache, we climbed, as only monkeys can, sheer wet rockfaces to get closer, to no avail. Unfortunately it was at this stage we found we'd left the logs for this cache back at Base camp, Doh! so after a good hour or more of searching it was..with heavy hearts, and wet heavy clothing, that we relented and returned to base.
This is agreat place to come, but we recomend doing it in the dry weather. And check the tide charts before you go. P.S. if anyone wants their cache checked to see how its handling wet weather, call GeoMOnkeys, Every attempt we have made, has been in the rain, we weill know for sure!
Houndog is not a happy puppy at the moment.
I found this cache after about 20 mins of bush bashing and tricky readings. Then, just as I spotted the blue container, crack!!! whoosh!!! a tree I was using for support gave way and I fell 30 ft to the next rock ledge below. Very lucky.... not badly hurt, a scrape and a sprain, no blood no broken bones. Hardest part was figuring how to get back up to the cache. Got there and still glad to have found it though. Took the can of Spam and left some cash and some gloves. Now resting and licking my wounds like a good hounddog should.

Found it using the alternate set of coords.
I made location S33-44.668 E151-11.264
Noted that there was no pen so took my own and left it behind, took the CDR and left a mouse. The altitude clue is good I made alti 40m so don't go all the way down to the creek as you will just have to come back up like I did

We managed to find it after about 15 minutes of circling it. We had a mini break before continuing to search and when we finally found it we realised the cache had been watching us all along.
We found the coordinates were off a bit so we've taken some which appear steady at the time:
S 33° 44.667
E 151° 11.262
Interesting stash, took the skeets and put in blank CD-R and 'No Fear' keyring.
AWESOME FUN - was our first! Great view!

Found it on our second attempt. There is no pen in the stash so we could not write in the log book! My advice - pay more attention to the clue than your GPS when searching for it.
Took the wrong track at first but got there in the end but still couldnt find it. Position is just off the rock crossing in the creek. Spent about a half hour looking to no avail, clue about the 40m no help either. Gps said 0m to waypoint but still couldnt find it !!

Found it using WGS-84. No problems except that we initally took the wrong track! Swapped a fine Star-City keyring for some Olympic-ish memorabilia. -- Ideology Geocaching
We couldn't find it either. The zero distance point is right at the end of the Bungaroo Track, about 5 metres from the water - not 40 metres above as the clue says. We searched for over an hour up and down the cliffs without success. Can the stash setter please check the published location is correct? Is the location in WGS-84?
Failed to locate.
Found what appeared to be the correct general area, spent a couple of hours scrambling along cliff faces. Could not make sense of the elevation clue.
