Warwick Mall in Rhode Island has this Atlas standing outside what was once a restaurant. The building seems to be empty for years and Atlas is being over taken with plant growth.

The Myth of established Sisyphus why life must be lived. Because the man can exceed the nonsense of his fate by its lucidity, its firm revolt against the condition.
This statue is near Agen in the western South of France

For me it is the world which is represented. This world is carried with the shoulders of Sisyphus

To bear the world on one's shoulders can be a heavy burden. Here the world rest on a monument dedicated to those who have served their country in a time of war, dedicated by the Northampton Veteran Council. It is located in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

This one is located at the court of a school in Mayen / Eifel / Germany.
Because Faithwalker & DaMama said, that the World is a very heavy place,
they took the world from his shoulders, laied it aside and made a climbing-toy for the school-kids out of it ...

Went to this museum hoping to find another locationless cache and spotted this sundial in a display cabinet. What a bonus as statues of Atlas are very rare around here! Apologies for the very dark images, but flash photography is prohibited in the museum.
The descrition card reads:
GLOBE SUNDIAL WITH STATUE OF ATLAS
The shadow from the small iron stick falls on the sphere to give the time. Althoughdates 1568, the dial has been put together from various parts at a later date

6.30pm. Coming across this one was a stroke of luck! Situated in St. John's Str. Cape Town near the Holocaust Museum and Parliament.

We spotted this guy while going after a traditional cache. It sits outside a storage company located in Chula Vista, a suburb of San Diego. Thanks, Faithwalker & DaMama, for this locationless. We'll sorely miss them when they're gone.

The coordinates are to the front door of this Rainforest Cafe on Galveston Island Texas.
We were very excited to post this photo. Oh, the food is excellent too!

This is the Spirit of Detroit statue. It is holding the world in it's hand.

I don't know if this person is really Atlas with the world on his shoulders, but he has significant similarities. He is located on top of a building in the center of Vienna (Austria).

We were on our way to a cache this morning in Tucson, Az. and I couldn't believe my eyes. I actually saw this guy and girl carved out of a tree. It was definetly a work of art. Thanks for the cache.

Found this in Austin, TX. on a business trip.

I never dreamed I would find this cache! As much as the cache write up says this guy is common and easily found I am from Newfoundland, Canada and I have never seen anything like him....

I was visiting Las Vegas with a group of girlfriends and I happened upon this guy! It is inside and my shots are not real good ones but I have tried!

SPAZ and Lady D were with me when I got this one!

He is in the Rain Forest Cafe at the MGM Hotel on the Las Vegas Blvd and he is great looking. I was very excited to see it for sure.....

The Blvd offers and array of things to see and the Rain Forest Cafe is but one of them. Add to the fact its a nice place to eat and the prices are reasonable!!!

Nice to be able to log this cache - Thought this one was reserved for the folks in the bigger cities!!!!

While searching unsuccessfully for an other cache my eyes fell on that roof figure: the man holding the world on his shoulder. I only have a 3-time zoom, I hope I got it close enough for a good view. I found it in the first district of Vienna, Austria.

8:35 am - I love locationless caches and am sorry to see their demise. It just won't be the same.

I had stopped at 200 of them figuring that was a nice number. But I had been looking for this one for a long time, found two months ago but they were logged. So when I saw this one on a cache run this morning I couldn't resist. As you can see from the pictures, the figure and the globe are modern in nature. The artist is only shown as GN on the baseplate with the year 2002. The sculpture is located in a shopping center in Union City, CA. TFTC!

This night tried to make some locationness caches but was out of luck. All the ones i've prepared were already logged . But i saw this sculpture and remembered that it was also a cache.
This one is near the "padrão dos descobrimentos" it's from the 1960 to remember the portuguese discoveries.

Atlas in Miyoshi Park, Miyoshi, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. This is an inverted Atlas holding up the Earth, and there is also plaque describing the the idea behind it.

Well, it is not exactly on his shoulders, but inhis lap. THis is one of four chinese cherubs showing the arts, his being books and maps.

We found this wooden sculpture of a man carrying the world on a walk on a sculpture trail around Oescheninsee lake high up in the Swiss alps.We were at 1595m above sea level.

We found this big man while on holiday in Paphos , Cyprus. He's located at the old port there.

This Atlas is located on top of King Ludwig's Castle, Linderhof, in Germany.
