Need for maintenance noted, needs a new container. I will attempt to get there in the coming weeks, and will update here. If any cachers are passing through, though, who have a spare container of about lunchbox size that they are happy to part with, I would be very grateful, as my situation has changed such that I am in this area less regularly now, and when I attend it will be a special trip. Thanks for understanding!
found this cache it was a good hide. couldnt log it on phone so im doing it now im on my laptop since you can log premiums on a PC. didnt have a pen i have images of the cache on my phone tho. lovely spot great view definetly worth the hike. you have to go a little off track but not too far found it with Antony 3400.
Sixth cache on our recommended clockwise walk of The Nut! Was a little bit out in the open and the lid to the container has broken, needs a check. Beautiful spot with the flowers. TFTC
Clips for the lid have all broken off resulting in the lid easily coming off, and the cache itself may not be in the correct location.
Saw a Pademelon close by this one Im not its in the correct hidey place anymore, still a nice bit of off the track bush wacking, TFTC
TFTC. This one had me running in circles for a bit and I was losing light as well as it being blizzard conditions. I stopped at the GZ coordinates, took a couple of deep breaths said to myself one more look then Im calling play off due to poor light and then there it was incredibly accurate coordinates for such an oldie.
Thanks. Little side trek off the track. (Containers clips all broken, still water tight so far)
Swampy and I decided to visit Stanley with the aim of adding Pine Nut (GC52EF) to my list of oldest caches found. After an excellent trip, visiting the Hydro Power Trail along the way, we continued heading North West caching as we went. We found many different type of hides, cache containers and conditions. We fixed what was needed and replaced as found. What they all had in common was getting 2 geeks outside for some exercise. This find, Pine Nut, brings my total to 1671 and was found at 10:26 on 8/6/2024.Thanks Shagzter for playing the game and giving us another reason to visit this area. Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Super frustrating as hint required logging into Geocaching.com which cant be done at this [email protected]://www.instagram.com/maccas.tracks?igsh=MWhpNzJzejhnbzNoYw%3D%3D&utm_source=qr
Lived in Tasmania for a number of years now however this is my first time North West Tassie. Driving around the area for our 30th wedding anniversary. What an adventure. Went up the chair lift & headed off with clouds but sun around. Half way along the loop, it bucked down & we got drenched. But it was fun & we had a good time.As I was soaked to the bone and with my husband who really is not into caching I had a quick look but did not find. Just another excuse to come back. Thanks for the adventure.
Relocated a small scorpion who had taken up residence in the cache. Clips on cache were broken and already inside but log book still in great condition. TFTC
[9006] Holidays on Tasmania, day 8. Today, we had to move again, from Smithton in the Northwest to Cradle Mountain. It became mainly a coastal experience, with quite a few geocaches more or less close to the ocean. And it became my jubilee tour, as I logged my 9,000th geocache on the road. We enjoyed a walk on The Nuts and found some rather fresh geocaches as second or third team. This geocaches also contributed its share to another beautiful day in Australia! TFTC!
Thanks Shagzter for hiding this cache and giving us some fun chasing it down This was find number 1,059 for us We are traveling Australia full time in a Coaster Bus and of course grabbing some caches along the way. [Feel free to follow our journey HERE...](https://linktr.ee/SalandAnth)
#2696 This is my day 255, and the longest physical cache find streak so far. I want to see how far I go. I am on a family vacation in Australia, and Tasmania road trip is our main highlight. Today, we roamed around Stanley, got some seafood, and found some caches while walking around The Nut.Took us a while to identify the correct tree. It ended up being right in front of us.Thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan @ February 14, 2024 16:20:29
Feels nice to come back and log this cache. Came back and searched, coordinates are way off.TFTC
Today we headed out for a walk up the Nut and then to find the caches at the summit. We wrongly thought it was a tough climb to the summit but we seemed to be there in no time at all. We really enjoyed all the walking and finding all the caches. We had a great day for it.Found this one exactly where the hint said it would be, great to find a golden oldie. The box is suffering a bit please future finders please please put the log book back in the zip lock bag to ensure the longevity of this cache. TFTC
Wow man I spent 1 hour 43 mins and no luck, btw I think you just need luck because I spent time getting the hint and all, I think it needs a better hint, plz help.DFC
A very quick find for Mrs Shifter while walking around the Nut.Thanks for the hide shagzter.
I nearly missed this one, but another read through the description saw us making a bee line for the right spot. What an amazing pine tree. Thanks for the cache
Very distinct tree, like others have said, clips are broken but contents still dry! TFTC
#729 ~ Ventured off the track & located this cache at home among the gum trees I mean the pine trees a sheep or two or a kangaroo Oops I broke into song . Found with Krossbo. The side clips have broken on the container. The contents are dry at this stage. TFTC Shagzter!!
Found Dad went almost 100 meters out The pen doesnt work so did what the last guy did Thankyou
TFTC!Walking in circles before I actually found it!The pen does not work inside the cache box, so I got creative and etched then smeared a bit of dirt to sign the book
After a long scratching around, looking everywhere except the location it resides, but finally after expanding the search area quite a lot, found it

Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
Todays adventure started with a sunrise walk around The Nut in Stanley before a road trip to Launceston via some country stops.
I had this oldie on my target list and set off to find a way in to GZ. My access path meant I missed it altogether and was searching all the wrong things. I turned around and there it was right in front of me!
Thanks Shagzter for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Pine nut, gum nut, you would have to be a silly nut to walk to the top of this nut!
There are some amazing views from up here.

Was a bit worried walking in back quick find. Shame I forgot to bring the trackerabkw that I picked up in Strahan good size container to leave it in
GZ about 5 metres off, but an easy find.
The container has a broken lid, so it was a bit wet inside.
Favourite point for location!

Out n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
Not sure I should have wandered this far off the real track but glad to make the find, the lid is starting to deteriorate, might be a good spot for an ammo can.
Thanks for the hide & Shagzter

Reached our destination for our first day in Tassie, had targeted the climb to the Nut.
This cache took some finding as the GPS was out a bit and the hints were not very accurate.
Currently the cache is residing under a eucalyptus so maybe gum nut may have been a better name.

Family Holiday in TAS: It was interesting and scenic loop walk. Surprised to find so many trees in contrast to the track along the coast. Quite impressive for the tree entrance. It was fun to locate the cache. A bonus point for the trip. TFTC
Great Cache
Found this cache after going to Apple Isle Moot on my post tour.
I’ll be in Tassie till the 29th of January
I’ve may have added one of my moot pathtags for the next person to find (physical locations that will fit a pathtag only)
Happy finding
Thanks Shagzter for the cache

On my fantastic family holiday to beautiful Tassie with TT016, PrincessAria1 & LittleG00sE.
We arrived at Stanley mid afternoon so by the time we arrived at The Nut, it was 4pm. We took the chairlift up then ran around the top of the nut collecting the caches. We did stop for views & photos. We made it back to the chairlift at 4:55pm (5mins to spare). I wouldn't care if I had to walk down but we had young children with us who were tired by this time.
This cache took up a lot of our time, trying to get the GPS to settle under the trees. Eventually the cache was found, signed & placed back as found.
Thanks for placing the cache for our enjoyment, Dabs and Shagzter

Found on our quick walk around the Nut with hevwalker little goose and princess Aria
Walking around the track and starting to think that someone was lost when they placed tis. Then came across the area with a table or two and realised it was not right by the track like the previous ones. Okay, to work, wandering amongst the trees avoiding and snakes and/or spider webs as I go. Wife and kids have bailed - they do not like either...
Got there in the end, found the cache which is in good condition.
Now signed and returned.

Went past the pines but saw the forest. I would normally eat these for breakfast but cannot afford a mishap. Left for safety sake, and for another time
On a 10 day trip to the Apple isle. Grabbing a few caches along the way. Thanks

Glad to get this cache after walking in off the track. I popped my water bottle on the ground and started checking the area and was coming up empty. But guess what? It ended up being right next to where I’d placed my bottle TFTC
