I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
I no longer live in Auckland so am not able to make it to Orakei to check if it is still there. There are a number of DNFs so I am assuming it is no longer there! Next time I am in Auckland I will go and check it out.
Just like the last 3 could not find the cache, looked on every magnetic (and non magnetic) object here but could not find
Pretty sure I know where this one should be but did not find today. Neighbours where on the other side of the fence so had to be very stealthy.
Ah was glad this was where it was and not where other metal things are nearby. Was worried the neighbours would see us too but all good, got this one in no time. Tftc
A nice quiet little street. Was a pretty quick find. There was some water in the cache but the bag was doing its job.
Doing lots of caches around Orakei this week as we are having a school holiday house swap. Found this during our walk this morning. It is a sad piece of history and we can only hope that there are ways to prevent this type of desecration happening in the future. Great peom preserving this history and very well interesting to come across in this way.
Today was a dot day so decided to come to the Orakei basin to pick up a few caches. Passed the cemetary on the way to this one. I was quite uneasy at GZ due to the proximity of houses and windows looking down right over GZ, but luckily it was an easy find so a quick in an out, TFTC!
Collecting a few caches in Orakei today between showers. Cache was spied on our approach. We made sure none of the neighbours were watching as we retrieved the cache and signed ourselves in. Surprised to see that we weren't the first to visit this cache today.
What a piece of history regarding this street. It's sad but I guess it would be more sad if the history were lost. Came here to kill time whilst AKL traffic tries to solve its own self out haha TFTC!
Was nice to see this one reinstated (thanks Rusty) so detoured round here this morning to grab it and to continue my daily streak. TFTC
Thought this one was gonna be a quick PnG cos it's magnetic and there are only two magneticable objects there....but there was no eclipse tin.
Out for a stroll this afternoon collecting a few smileys on the way.thanks for bringing us to this nice little neighbourhood.an easy find.log very damp so was hard to sign.we also have drained some of the water out and put it back upside down
A quick find today. The log is very wet but managed to write part of my handle on it, replaced the cache upside down to try and stop it filling up with water again. TFTC
Needed a cache for my dot day on my geocaching calendar. I thought I had found the cache, and almost ripped it off....but then decided to explore further and found it very quickly.
Sorry, log book is very damp. Very hard to write on it. Sorry, didn't have any spare paper with me to replace it with.
Out for a Saturday afternoon adventure picking up some gaps in the eastern suburbs. Tftc
I was passing by so stopped off to make a nice quick find, thankfully not on one of 'those' boxes!
On a flying visit to Orakei today, so had to try for a couple of caches as well. This one was close to the address we visited, so was a logical choice to look for it.
With the good clues provided, it was a quick find. Didn't realise how narrow a lot of the streets around here were.

The map was bit wrong! Seems located in a private property, but not! Please put it upside down so water won't get in!
Found it after I realized the big obvious thing wasn't in the right spot. Loved the poem and the story thank you.

We looked for ages and couldn't find it, the pathway is pretty new so may have been removed.
Gps Is good for this one.
I don't think putting a road through someone's cemetery is a great idea.
Respect is for all. dead or alive.
But anyway Tftc.

The coordinates were a bit out and both from my GPSr and Google Earth would place the cache in a private property, so the search took a little longer than it should have. When I finally decided to forget about using the coordinates it was a quick find. Unfortunately I didn't think to note the coords at the time, but I've logged with this ones from Google Earth which should be reasonably spot on. TFTC. #93
Nice quick find here. Cache was full of water but log was still quite dry. Signed and returned safely. TFTC
Searched the wrong thing at first, it pays to read the description sometimes. Thanks.
So I met this beautiful, amazing girl. I think I might have fell for her...& now it's over. But this cool cat introduced me to Geocaching, which is pretty great. And this was my first cache!... I love the theme of a letter to a friend. Like I am leaving a note here that she will probably never see.
Anyway, thank you - great cache, nice to learn about the neighborhood!

Coordinates changed to:
S 36° 51.596 E 174° 49.038
Distance from original: 278.8 feet or 85 meters.
The tree it was originally hidden in got cut down so I have had to move it to a new hiding place close to the original location.

Had to move cache as the tree it was in was cut. Coordinates and description updated so should be up and running again.
Sounds like it has been muggled. Have temporarily disabled until I get a chance to check it out.
Pretty sure we were looking in the right place. Did not find. Thought we'd give this one a go since its so close to our house. Tree has had a major hair cut and looks like GC has disappeared with it! This one might need to be archived.
With kiwi dropped back at work scottie and kiwiscot decided a couple more caches just to feed the habit. Slight detour from visiting friends nearby and we were very quickly at GZ. Cache located , signed and returned without encountering any other soul TFTC
As an aside to the poem, Scottie looked after an elderly lady who had been moved into her daughters new home as she was not looking after herself. The mother keep looking out the window telling her daughter about the people she could see coming out their graves - her daughters new house was built on deconsecrated land ( the previous residents having been uplifted and moved!). Put shivers down my spine, all the details that she went into, all those years ago!

See we put in the wrong date on the log
We were here in the rain, hiding under the umbrella, having a discussion who had the longest reach!
On our way to Mission Bay for dinner, and before dark, made our way to GZ. The area has such a sad history, thanks for sharing the poem.

Tukua te wairua kia rere ki ngā taumata
Hai ārahi i ā tātou mahi
Me tā tātou whai i ngā tikanga a rātou mā
Kia mau kia ita
Kia kore ai e ngaro
Kia pupuri
Kia whakamaua
Kia tina! TINA! Hui e! TĀIKI E!
Allow one’s spirit to exercise its potential
To guide us in our work as well as in our pursuit of our ancestral traditions
Take hold and preserve it
Ensure it is never lost
Hold fast.
Secure it.
Draw together! Affirm!

Thanks for the poem. Cache was easy to spot from a long way off - could possibly do with some green camouflage.
Awesome poem. Log is full . People have had to start writing on the back . Easy cache though thank u
I was nearby last night, but I can never find much by torchlight. However, a quick park n grab on the way to work. Thanks.
In Auckland for a few days work so decided to use some spare time to find some caches. Last cache found for the day. An interesting back story for it too. TFTC, Biggles.
Thought we would pick this one up as we were in the area for the kite festival. No one around to see us retrieve the cache. TFTC
Out walking around Orakei before heading over to the Kite Day at Orakei Marae so stopped in to pick up this cache. Nice quick find. TFTC.
I decided to take advantage of the sun and collect some caches as I made my way home this afternoon. I parked up and made a super quick find. Interesting tidbit of history. I'm not sold on the artistic merits of this piece. But, each to their own. Cheers for the cache placement!
Ryan promised me a day's caching now he has finished uni for the semester so we had a great day picking up caches that have appeared over time. Nice easy find. TFTC
Street fairly quiet so no problem, I have heard of other cemetaries being removed for progress, so not surprised here, though bet they couldn't do it now.

An interesting piece of history in the poem. Easily found for my find for the day. Thanks!
Surprised to think that someone built a road through a cemetery, but probably shouldn't be. History is built of (on?) bones in any country. And it won't stop--just read world news. Cheers for the cache and the backstory.
Walked from home. A Sunday afternoon excursion on an increasingly fine day. We had known about the graveyard - it looks in even worse shape than the last time we saw it. Thank you for printing "the letter". Interesting indeed. NINO TFTC
Rather surprised to learn about the history here, sister use to live quite close by on Rautara St and don’t think she was aware of its past. Thanks for the poem and the cache.
