After a day of 14km on the Vampire Series I teamed up with Scaphoid to do a bit more caches on the way home. Who can resist driving past all these caches. Quite a few we both needed this was one of them. Thanks for the nice company. We tried and failed to find this cache, gave the area a good search. The road and guard rail look quite new. This might be gone. Thank you DARKSIDEDAN. (Adopted from joeylovestreasure) for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
Dropped by this one on the way through. Wasn't in the guard rail as expected. but not far away. Nice and dry even after all this crappy weather.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.

Lockdown has bought a totally different approach to caching with the introduction of homework! Much time for homework in fact. Therefore many more puzzles solved, both as a solo and collective effort. Thanks to my fellow geo buddies for assistance when needed.
And in between there are still some traditionals, though not nearly as many of them left these days
Logs all in good condition unless otherwise noted.
Thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment!

Replaced in the new structure, as the road works have destroyed the original hide.
A great afternoon exploring the area with GLISS! Some incredible old cemeteries out this way, and beautiful scenery with full rivers and creeks and the spring flowers and birds out. Great to tackle a few tricky caches as well as exploring the trails. Thanks for the cache!

The original has gone missing. Replaced with a mint tin. Not sure how long it will last in the roadworks. TFTC
A much cooler summer's day today, almost autumnal, and so I thought it would be a good morning to knock over a few of DSD's Vampire series.
Noting the location of this cache on a tricky corner, I parked on top of the hill about 250m away and walked down. Once at GZ this cache was a very straightforward find in an obvious location, and was in good, dry condition.
Thanks for the series, DSD - most enjoyable.

I would not have stopped for this one had I been on my own! Gerriactive counted down the metres to the cache and encouraged me to park and grab - the quickest cache I have ever logged! TFTC but be careful here.
Made this one a quick find and log to move on from the corner in the road. Lots and lots of Flying ants keeping guard over the cache. TFTC
Out this way on a driving lesson with my middle daughter. We randomly stopped to grab caches on the way. A nice quick find, found with Chocolistick03. Signed as OK + CL3, TFTC.

Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
With a beautiful day to begin the long weekend, I was more than ever lamenting the necessary closure of the ACT's parks in these dangerous times. Searching the map for places I might still enjoy a good walk in the wilderness, I seized upon Gigerline Park, on the safer side of the Murrumbidgee and thus still accessible.
I've walked up and down the sandbar many times, so this time I aimed for a rather longer walk in wilder terrain. On the way I collected the park-and-grabs along the road (not so easy once it turned to a dirt track with few parking spots!); then I headed into the hills and made my way almost to the river side.
All the caches I collected belonged to DarkSideDan's extraordinarily extensive "Vampires" series. I had hoped to get to Tankengine's Murrumbidgee Meander, but found at the last that they were not reasonably accessible from up on the hill - I'll have to try another time, going by river in the off-snake season.
Thank you DarkSideDan for all your caches here!

Last find of the day on a quite a dangerous corner - this road had more crazy 4x4s drivers than I have seen in a very long time - clearly not having a restful Father’s Day

Out this afternoon for a few caches. I have been looking at the series up Smiths road. So I grabbed a few today. Cheers
Found with Maris4. Good walk getting some of the Vampire Series. Started off cloudy and cool, but ended up sunny and hot . Thanks for the cache
Today with Lola1983 we decided to do some caching hike. The final destination was the Vampire series. Weather was originally on our side, but after one hour, clouds cleared and the sun was roasting us alive...
Found with nissan 65 on a few days caching in Canberra. We headed up last night after work and stayed at our usual over night spot in Goulburn before heading out this way. Thankyou to all cache owners for placing these for our enjoyment
Nice quick park and grab. Was disconcerted to hear voices but then realised they were far below.no worries. TFTC
Out on a lovely day with Kittykatch and Smittengranny running around picking up missed caches and doing others. Weather was great and had a great day with great company. And sorry about the similar log. TFTC
Another fabulous day out on the caching trail today - this time with Kittykatch, Joolay, Aquilus 1 and dty73. We travelled in two cars but managed lots of relaxed chatting as we walked between caches. The Vampire Series were in our sights but we grabbed some smilies along the way. All caches attempted were found to be in good condition and now carry our names. Mostly mine is SG.

**This Cache:**
Was travelling in the CO's car, and were driving straight past this cache whilst collecting a FTF and an unloved cache up a hill. I still have a few caches to collect in the series, but this is my last one that is a park and grab. So may as well stop and sign it while he is present!
Thanks DSD
*see brief outline of entire day below*

**The Day**
Two events on the same day on a weekday! I'm sure I can count the number of events I have attended on weekdays on one hand, so to have two of them on the same day was a treat! Made plans with DSD who also had a day off work, and decided to make an entire day out of it, caching for three hours before the first event, and then a further 6 and a half hours between the two!
Was an extremely productive day, picking up **5 FTF's**, **7 Puzzles** , **3 Multi's**, **2 Events**, **Unloved Years**, **A Dozen Pathtags between us** and Traditionals inbetween!
Thanks to all the CO's and everyone who we met up with today!

Jazzy3008 and I were out for the afternoon to pick up a few caches since it was a nice spring day. And being a public holiday added to the incentive to be out and about. We headed down south to pick up a few more from the Vampire series...
I saw we were coming up to the cache and spotted an area I could pull over in. We decided it was a bit too far to walk, so I continued past the windy part of the road, then had to drive up the dirt part of the road a bit before I felt it was safe to pull over. Ended up nearly as far from the cache as the first place, but it was an easier walk.

Today’s weather indicated that spring has finally arrived. Given sumbloke had been wanting to continue the vampire series for awhile, we decided on hitting up the ones along Nass Road and Smith Road.
No problems locating this cache. It was rather exciting as it was the start of the dirt road. Dirt roads always remind me of heat, rugged terrain and dirt road racing Tftc!

As we were doing a country roads tour today, we decided to pick up some of this Vampire Series of caches - in the daytime, of course. We found the ones we looked for and signed the logs before moving on to continue the hunt. Glad we were able to locate these before the Vampires came out to do their hunting after dark. Many thanks go to DARKSIDEDAN for placing this series. We hope to be able to find some more of them on another occasion.
Have been wanting to get my Buffy Vampire Slayer on for some time on and slay me some of the two fanged blood suckers. Finally, the stars aligned, and the day arrived. Dam it was too cold for my Buffy Outfit so it was on with the caching pants and puffer jacket – my other fav outfit with added garlic vampire extinguishing accouchements. StrangeTrousers skidded sideways into my driveway for the pick up on our way to gather mtrax whilst daylight was with us. Then onwards to the country and adventures.
The caching was great and views stunning as were some of the vertical trampling up and down hillsides. Loved every minute of it and am very grateful the gallant guys for me not leaving on the side of a hill as I slowly walked up them. Thankful that I was not doing it in Buffy boots and a short skirt – freezing. This series is so worth it for the views it gives, most importantly caches and that we got out alive with no fang marks in our necks. We were not able to get them all as it was a challenging course in some crisp and windy weather. Hope to be back with more salt to throw down for the vampires to count every grain when needed to escape.

A great long day of caching that had everything in it. From city to country, from high to low, from warm to cold. We managed to knock off quite a bit of trails, drive trip, beautiful views and vampire series being the main ones. In between a few very nice single traditionals. Loved driving around this part of Namadgi and seeing snow today was great. Thanks to all the cache owners for putting the caches out, the quality was surprisingly good! Thanks to J+J.AU for taking me along today.

Today's cache is this one. I've loaded up the GeoSchnauzers and GeoCavoodles for a walk and a cache. I've picked this one because it looks like an easy walk. It turned out to be no walk at all, which was just as well, as dogs turned out to be forbidden. Never mind, I grabbed the cache, and went looking for somewhere to walk the horde of puppies. Ended up back in town, but they did get a walk. Thanks, Joey.
We'd both been unwell just after Christmas, so hadn't left the house in days. Today we decided we needed a New Year's Eve walk, so headed down to complete the Vampire series. Sadly, The Woofer had to stay home, but it didn't take us long to complete, so she wasn't sad for long. Left goodies where possible.
Luckily we did this as a drive-by and not come from the other side! A nice easy find. TFTC!

Drove to the top of the hill, the views down to the river and hills accross and quite nice and all is looking a lot greener after the recent rain. Quite a few cars along this section of the road, very busy. This was our last of this series today and was a good series along some easily accessible tracks. We were looking for something a little gentler after our previous days efforts and found this a good mix of park and grabs and walking. Even with the slight climb at the end it was all a quick easy walk along the river and through the wildlife. Thanks for the caches Joey loves treasure!
We drove to this after completing the rest of the trail. Liked the combination of park and grabs and walking from easy to moderate. This road was so busy?! Wondering where everyone was going? Parked off the side of the road to grab this one, but Aquilus1 couldn't get out of the car without being in a little danger being so close to the edge. So I grab, signed and replaced. Log has seen better days. Tftc JLT!!!
Because of the hot weather forecast for today, the BBC bushwalk was replaced with a short walk and swim from Tharwa Sandwash which provided the opportunity to find six more of the Vamp Trail caches. All were straightforward finds.
Thank you joeylovestreasure for this cache and the series of caches.

A quick find but not so quick to unwrap the torn bag without releasing little sheets of paper into the breeze. Nothing is wet, but this one could use a little attention to remove a multitude of crushed sheets. Thanks joeylovestreasure.
Having returned to the car from the initial trail, this was a quick drive-by and a nice reward after our walk to the previous caches. Log signed, and then we decided to tackle the last couple of this series,
Thanks joeylovestreasure,

Once again another stunning view greeted us at this cache. Nice easy find to go along with it. TFTC
Followed from another cache on trail, took us on uphill uneven track. Easy find once in location
This find could have been a quick drive by but in the words of geowife 'where is the fun in that?' So just like the story of the Grand Old Duke of York I was marched up the hill and back again! Cache was retrieved so alls well that ends well - I should be grateful it never turned into a Jack & Jill.

A tricky one to get to. I parked 430m up the road which was the first place I could find to get off the very narrow road. The walk back to the cache was worrisome with B-doubles passing by at breakneck speed. It may have been safer to climb up from the Tharwa Sandwash below. TFTC
This is the last cache of the vamp trail with a quick find with TheStormMan! Tftc
Out for a cache with JohnoMawbs. Thought this would be a convenient and reasonably quick trail to clean up. Last one for the trail. TFTC
Granville86a and dghoffy decided to hit the local area to bag a few more caches after attending the cotter meet and greet. But if a drive down to here but good to see this lovely river area. The day has warmed a lot so the rest of the series will need to wait. Tftc
Found with dghoffy. A chance to grab a few of the Vampire series. A nice drive out to the Tharwa area and have a walk along the river tracks.
Not a fabulous place to park, but paused 50m up the road and dashed back for a quick find. TFTC
Another seemingly random placement, but this one had terrific views across the valley. TFTC.
Decided to grab this one on my walk back to the car (rather than the lazy option of driving to it). It looks close, but its a bit of a climb!
Found quickly in the expected spot, then back down the hill.
Thanks for the series.

I have had my eye on this series for a long time. Every time I want to do it, I am exhausted as I am returning from mountain caching. Well, no different today. Totally worn out, I decided today was the day.
Found all the caches easily as the coords are spot on. All dry and in good nick. There was a couple floating down the river with tiny floats (people, not caches). They seemed happy enough but not sure where they came from. No car in the park.
I don't know if I would want to do this series at night because of all the wombat holes hidden in the grass. The vampires wouldn't worry me until they bit me.

I decided to head down to the wilds of Thawa to tackle a few caches around the Vamp Trail series. I have driven past most of these in the past so a visit was long overdue. It was a lovely cool day for this time of year.
I had a bit of fun finding this one. Eventually I spotted something & found it.

In the main we have no idea about most of these vampire names, but it's a nice area and we enjoyed the visit to the general locale. The nanny state has closed Angle Crossing, again, must be two inches of water dangerously flowing after the rain.
Road to Monaro Highway closed at Angle Crossing. Perhaps it is the two inch torrent of water flowing .
Cache was easily found. Thanks joeylovestreasure.

We have been meaning to do this trail for some time and today worked out well for us, all the caches were easily located with pleasant scenery along the way. Plenty of bird life, loads of fish spotted in the water and of course the Kangaroos. We enjoyed the series. TFTC
I admit to cheating a little and driving to this one, but only after walking to the others beside the river (and up the hill) and to Murrumbidgee Meander II. Easily found in its neat hiding spot. It looks like some of the paper materials in the cache have seen better days, but log was OK.
Terrific views from up here (but the whole area is pretty darned nice). TFTC

A Canberra Bushwalking Club amble up the Murrumbidgee and Gudgenby Rivers in the Gigerline Nature Reserve doing the Vamp Trail series. Plenty of water flowing. Trip report at http://www.johnevans.id.au/wp/8-august-2015-gigerline-geocaching/ . Found with ChifleyGrrrl. TFTC.
Today my mum and I tackled the Vamp Trail. We parked our car near 'Lestat' and made the short but steep climb up to this cache. We then followed the road for a bit before arriving at GZ. A few kangaroos hopped down the hill from us. The cache was in a nice hiding spot.

After remembering our fallen heroes on this significant day, I was in the mood to go for a drive and a hike I've been looking at this series ever since it was published so today was the day to tackle it.
It was lovely hiking along the flowing river and it is certainly a womabat's paradise as well!
Jumped back in the geomobile for this one to make the nice easy find
