Went to find this one yesterday. Signage at gate stated Authorised access only. ?
I left my car at the entrance to this activity area, and then jogged to GZ to then make this cache a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, although the logbook's protective bag was completely split and not offering any protection. I left the cache upside down, so any water ingress could be allowed to drain. An interesting area; Thanks mearsb for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, a scheduled Lake Kurwongbah paddle by way of the [Kurwongbah Breakfast Paddle](https://coord.info/GCAH20P) event was the morning's plan, and I joined a small group of keen participants who braved the slight drizzle that occurred. Following a couple of priority geocaches in Petrie and Joyner, we parted ways with a bakery coffee and savoury/sweet.With no other definitive plans, I then took an anti-clockwise circuit of Lake Kurwongbah, travelling through Kurwongbah, Dakabin, and Narangba, before returning south and stopping off at various scenic vantage points over the respective lake and Lake Samsonvale nearby. It was then a final walk through Mungarra Reserve finding a few witches, and then I made my way south back home.
There was a plan… I was a late addition (gate crasher) to the group… after deciding that Lake Kurwongbah could wait for another day without whitecaps the group set out on a magical mystery tour of the area…
Pretending not to see the “Authorised Access Only” sign we made our way to GZ again considering the possibility of launching from here, but ultimately deciding it wasn’t the best idea…
Thanks mearsb

After our planned paddle on Lake kurwongbah got quashed due to windy weather, our group decided to go caching on land instead.
On our map it seemed we could drive to this one but when we got to the road we found the big gate baring our access. So had to walk past the gate then onto gz where we found the cache quickly. SL then returned as found.
Seems you need authorised access pass to get through this gate.

Our aim today was to do kayaking on the Kurwongbah Lake but when we arrived we had different view on it as the water was very choppy. I am terrified of water at the best of times but the whole 8 of us voted to veeto it until another day.
We headed of to find other caches instead as most of us are from the south side.
Short walk for us after finding a park then it didn't take long to find this cache, left our signatures Geo5, TBU and Peppa before replacing as found.

Hoped there were no water police down here.

mearsb I found your cache Ski Tree on 29/12/2022, 3:35 pm. This is my find 4598 and find # 11 today. A quick and easy walk by. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
It feels like ages since I'd been out caching, so as the weather was fair, I really didn't fancy stopping in the house (and tackling the many jobs to be done) and there was an Earthcache souvenir to be claimed, a morning out by myself was on the cards.
Spotted this one from the path. Once the log was signed and replaced, a nice wander along the water's edge before heading home.
Thanks!!

Got told off by the owner yesterday that it was private property. You might need to relocate this one outside the property.
Took the geopup for a drive on a beautiful winters day to collect some more smileys. Really enjoyed the walk down to the water to see the full dam.
Thanks for the spot to stop and collect another one.

Headed home after a morning of caching further afield and we were driving past the access road to this one so I decided why not pop down and find it as well. We followed the arrow down the correct track to GZ for a quick find. Thanks mearsb
Headed out for a few caches this afternoon and tried my eye at this one. # 4 for today. With the log signed, I'm off to the next one. TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Approached this one on kayak, tricky navigating the weeds and scrub but got there in the end. TFTC
After paddling on the Lake, we grabbed this cache and made a bit of maintenance.

Relogging found caches under the name Bonkersandshush to my other accountGAZKERSH.Thanks.Quick find while in the area Thanks for the cache
My wife and I had done a kayak tour of the lake and were almost back to our starting possy. We pushed in through the weed to find a place to begin our assault.
When we are normally wearing proper and safr caching shoes, we don’t care where we stand. Precious wildlife, species near extinction, butterflies that can cause a change reaction to the human race, everything gets squashed. In just reef shoes every step is careful, like pushing boundaries with a broken condom.
We slowly walked in through the trees and even after finding the cache, slowly walked back. I must remember to remember the broken condom thing because maybe we would only have one kid and life would be sweet (and a whole lot cheaper). tftc

Found it, pretty weather damaged, put back as best I could, pencil is also missing now so byo pen
Thanks for the cache placement. I have been wanting to do this one for awhile since hubby goes to the archery range down the road but for some reason have been unable to, namely early cancellations and rainy weather. It was good to see names of friends who have found this one a couple of years before. The log needs replacing.
This was a quick find after short stroll into the cache. TFTC from the IRT.
Enjoyed the walk down to the dam. Found quickly and kept moving. Great area of the world. TFTC
TFTC smile 4891 out and about on the water with Brislions at Lake Kurwongbah finding a few caches my first time in a canoe don't move fast Doreen
We don't want to go swimming as it's still cold at 7 in the morning I survived ? Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment

After an unsuccessful attempt to land based collect a nearby puzzle , decided this one would be s better option as needed a cache today ! Tftc
I had to take my dogs out for a walk this morning so checked the map for some quite locations..:I loved the views here and we followed a couple of the tracks to check out the dam. Tftc and for choosing this lovely spot
We enjoyed our walk down to GZ today we parked the car further away on the road and walk towards the water and then came back to collect the geocache on our return trip. What a beautiful area, which we have not been to before. We have enjoyed exploring around here. Log signed!

My third stop on this kayaking exploration of Lake Kurwongbah and a nice easy find once we'd walked along to GZ, leaving our kayaks drawn up high so the wind didn't leave us marooned. Plenty of people in the area enjoying the fishing on this sunny Sunday. TFTC, mearsb. =^.^=
Paddling by this cache area I was tempted to be lazy and not get out of the kayak but after a little prompting I did. La Kedi and I wandered towards GZ and soon found the cache. Thanks for this one, mearsb!
We parked at the end of the lane which seems to be used for romantic trysts as there was a used condom on the ground swarming with ants - eeuw... Had a quick walk to the GZ where the cache was an easy find.
Out caching for the day with 1Minniemoo. We decided to fill in an area of the map that our third amigo had already done.
This one was a break amongst the "shinys". A little walk to stretch our legs and a nice quick find.
thanks for the cache Mearsb.

Out caching around the area with Wombles&Co today, and having just done a nearby Oooh Shiny cache we drove down here for this one.
Probably the most walking we've done for our finds today. Was nice to stretch the legs a bit.
Saw the likely spot and made a quick find.
Thanks for the cache mearsb.

Well it's been a while since I have been out here. I got the old cache that was here years ago. Funnily enough, I don't remember getting it
I parked up near the gate waltzed on in. Mr smartphone told me which track to take and I was on my way.
Holy hot honking day. I'm glad this one was close to the parking.
I soon arrived at GZ and soon found the prize. It wants another container as the lid is starting to depart - but thankfully the contents were safe. I signed the log and re-hid the cache as found it.
Nice to visit the quiet area again. TFTC mearsb

A beautiful walk down through the bush towards the lake and a cache to find on route - lovely day out. TFTC mearsb
My muggle friend and I had a lovely afternoon paddling around lake kurwongbah. Found a couple of caches on the lake and saw this one nearby. We passed a group of pelicans and then exited our yaks for a nice walk to gz . Coords spot on . Thankyou for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
Always amazed at where GC takes us to. We have lived near this suburb for many years but never knew this road or spot existed. TFTC.
**# 16856** Found on the start of our 2017 winter escape trip.
A fine Autumn day for a drive a drive around on the north side of Brisbane.
A good quick find with no muggles around here thankfully.
Thanks for the cache mearsb,

Found out on a kayaking trip,,further details will be added when holidays are over.
I had put out the call for cachers to accompany me on a little paddle. Originally my choice was Nudgee Creek but a little research showed that would have been a rather muddy affair as the Sun and the Moon seem to have some impacts on that experience. In any event one of today’s party had already been there.
I had not cruised these waters before so an interesting day exploring commenced for our party.
While this one could be done from land why not do it by sea while you are on the water.

Out on the lake in the kayak and Ms Maddy said what about this one? It wasn't on my maps for some reason.
Nice area here. I assume this is a road you can drive down.

We had intended to paddle Nudgee but I was not keen to drag the yaks through mud. So we ended up here dragging the yaks through mud and wading in it up to the ankles
We took the long way round here!!! quick find was found where all is well
Definitely took the wrong way in here using google maps instead of the app.. We did the whole loop from the closed off driveway! Found the ski tree and cache, and took the easy way back to the car! TFTC
Finally made the time to get the kayaks wet!
My partner and I set off from Mick Hanfking park on a beautiful Sunday morning.
Skies were blue, air was fresh and the water was slightly cool.
Jumped a-shore and located the cache quickly and was back on the water enjoying the peaceful paddle.
Cache all good. TFTC

Nice walk down to the cache and a beautiful area to come out and enjoy the views or a picnic very secluded out here. My geo senses were working perfectly and found this cache in no time TFTC
We found ourselves travelling past this cache today so decided to stop in for a quick find in the most likely place. With our name in the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you mearsb for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

One rainy winter day we all went for a trip to ol Petrie town and found this one after a day at the markets it was all lovely views until the dinosaur chased us off tftc
I am heading south to Brissy today and I have time for plenty of geocaching on the way.
It rained a little earlier in the day but most things are now dry.
A short detour to find this one and another.
Good thing is was a quick find and the log book is dry. [^]
Thanks for the cache.
