To hike or not to hike was the conversation this morning! So over to this cache first which was quickly located by the nice visual scenery. And... yes, we also hiked! We've had great weather, and great caching in the Lincoln National Park. Great to spend 2 nights to give us a full day yesterday with the key into memory cove. Such a beautiful place to visit. So the morning we were to leave a bit of rain decided to turn up. All good as we had cached all we had time for and made the hike up Stamford Hill and with so much more in the area, it pushed us into the direction of Port Lincoln to return the key to the tourism centre and leave. Completed the AL, and grabbed some lunch before heading off on the way north towards Coober Pedy. Stopping for caches along the way gave us time to explore, Tumby Bay, Cowell, earthcaches and a few other places as looked tempting. It all takes its time, Cowell AL had us walking to the end of the jetty well after dark, it's quite a walk! Accommodation booked, it was late into Whyalla waterside caravan Park but still not too bad given all that was squeezed into the day and with bad headaches for the most part. Thanks for your cache that guided us through our travels.

Another long trip around AU over the top end with lots of detours. Now heading back east across the Nullarbor with a stop at Maralinga.TFTC. Was at Ceduna with Aquilus1 on the way to Coober Pedy when invited to dinner at Lincoln National Park at the bottom of Eyre Peninsula by a group of Canberra geocachers including Gliss & nibletricecakes.Camped a couple of nights and totally enjoyed caching through the most of the park including getting the Memory Cove key.Found a few unloved DNFs, lots of kangaroos, emus, whales, snakes wriggling out of caches and looking through caves.Well worth it.Interesting cache title as we contemplate the hike just after rain.

From 16 December 2023 to 19 December 2023, I and J plus the little one visited Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park, together with countless cities and towns on the way. We also found over 40 caches during the trip, including traditional cache, mystery cache, multi cache, virtual cache, EarthCache, and Adventure Lab cache.18 December 2023, Day 3, we found 11 caches. This was our first find for the day, also 24th cache we found for the whole trip.Cache has been found easily. Signed the log.We decided to hike to the top of the hill. But while we are about 150m to the top, it was raining heavily. We had to rush back to the car. However, we tried it again after dinner, and we made it. Great view on the top. Nice hike. Thanks for the cache, chrispy89 and trea.---- **South Australia will host a Leap Day Mega Event on 29th February 2024. GCA1DNA: The Great Leap Forward. Count down: 72 days.**

Definitely hiking! Out on trusty treadles exploring the trail and sights. Finally in Port Lincoln with time ahead to stop in this lovely well kept historic town. Day 17 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its a fab day. The Ikera- Flinders Ranges, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and a few in between caches are high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game.

One good thing that has come out of the Covid situation, is the need to holiday in your home state. With a week or so to spend away, we decided to head to Port Lincoln - a place we had not visited before. Our first day in the area was spent exploring Lincoln National Park, and what better way to find all the interesting spots, than to find the caches which had been hidden.

We will always choose to hike when it is an option, so today, we went not just to the top, but all the way across to Woodcutters Beach and around the loop. There were stunning views from the top and it is a pity that there is no longer a cache there. There were a lot of muggles having lunch when we first arrived, but the place was much quieter when we returned from our hike which made finding the cache much easier. Thanks for bring us to such a beautiful spot.

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

Off to the west coast for a Holiday. [^] Holiday Sal Style that is. Razz We are sightseeing - if there happens to be a cache there - great - get it. Luckily caches are in really interesting spots anyway. Cool

Day 8: Port Lincoln - Day trip to Lincoln National Park. Razz
This ended up being our lunch stop at the nearby picnic tables. [^] The cache was a quick find and then after lunch we had to make that decision. - To hike or not to hike to the top of the hill. [?] We hiked. And it is well worth it. RazzRazz

***Thanks chrispy89 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Away doing a lap of Australia with my family, we started in January and already have been to Tassy, seen the eastern side of SA, up through the Flinders Ranges into middle of Australia and in to the NT to visit Alice, Kings Canyon and Uluru again. Making our way back form through Cooper Pedy where we found some opal now heading down and along the Eyre peninsula. Sorry for the generic log, I seem to get myself behind and muddled if I don’t do it this way.
Thanks for supplying us with a cache to do on the way TFTC

We thought we could have a quick find then hike to the top, but we couldn't find it. We then messaged the CO for some help as there looked like there had been a lot of water in the area. We hiked it and what fantastic views there were. When we reached the bottom we had another look, using the helpful hint, we started digging around a bit and found it, YAY. All in good condition. TFTC and help.

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So after leaving Coffin Bay my next destination is Port Lincoln which is down the bottom of Eyre Peninsular off the Flinders Hwy.
I’m hoping for better weather soon I don’t mind it being cool just not rain showers when you are out and about.
So I set the van up at Surfleet Campground that is in Lincoln National Park yesterday and today is a new day so it was time to explore the South West area and the weather is finally looking good.
Made it back to the entrance of the NP to start from there and headed back in and it is very easy to park without the van on.
Since it was such a beautiful day and getting very warm I put off the hike till tomorrow morning but it is a shame there is no cache up there anymore.
I did locate this one and added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks chrispy89 and trea TFTC.
