pug002 found it on our trip for our State Square dancing 12/10/21 great adventure, glad the ground was ok.TFTC Diaboli-Kal
Staying in Kalgoorlie for a few days, we spent the afternoon driving around these endless tracks finding a great selection of caches… The sun is starting to go down now so we hoped for a quick find here! Master 10 found the logbook in a bag but no container was present… So doing a good deed for the day we headed back to the car to find a new container to keep the log protected for a few more years
TFTC Diaboli-Kal [^] Cache container is now a 1 litre sistema.

Out and about with ILT caching rural towns and dusty tracks - our kind of caching. Steep walk up to go. No container - just a bag with the log book. Thanks DiaboliKal
Found it… but The log book was left out in the weather might need a bit of maintenance.
Very proud of ourselves for getting here. The directions & way pontins are very good. Shame its only a couple of cliplock bags. Next visitor might like to bring a nice container to keep this one going. TFTC
Found 31st July 2020 Was our 1st catch, in a zip lock hidden with a great view.
A thousand places to hide a cache but think we located where it was supposed to be and nothing but a pile of rocks
It started with a set of stickers. obviously swapsies. We widened or search and found more and more swapsies. Just as we about to leave the area my partner found the log and rest of cache minus the box. We signed and put it back where it was meant to be. TFTC
No luck with this one found a smiley face badge under a pile of rocks guessing it was ment to be there.
Looks like we have an ammo can thief in our midst. I'll replace it with something soon. Cheers
Nice Sunday drive out looking for a geocache. Found the logbook, couldn’t find the container. Found a car toy about 3 meters away. Have placed logbook in a ziplock bag for a little bit of protection. TFTC
Hi there Diaboli-Kal.
We found your cache **"Gold Rock View"** at 12:03:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 22290).
We are heading from SA to WAGB in Northam. We stopped off in Kalgoorlie on the way through to have the car serviced. Now we've settled in to the caravan park we took the opportunity to back track a little and find some of the caches that were a little further off our main route.
We found 5 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia. Thanks also for not placing a mint tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find this "special" cache here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

This was our last day staying in the Kalgoorlie area, so it was out to pick up a few more caches this morning with ilook4geo. Some were found after negotiating some interesting tracks, while others were much easier to access.
We managed to park within 65 metres of this cache and then went on a slow and careful climb and scramble until we located the container. After finishing the signing duties, it was then a slower and even more careful descent to the car. Thanks Diaboli-Kal for this challenge.

Before we leave Kalgoorlie we wanted to find a few more caches. Drew up a list with goingplaces2 and had a good hunt for the morning. Names on logs, all replaced. TFTC.
Holland Track Adventure
This trip had been on my 'Wish List' for some years
The problem was Logistics
I had to get the timing right...…….So many Variables!
Weather
The best time of year is after winter to avoid the very worst of the cold and wet, and before the weather gets too hot in summer
We were very fortunate to get nice warm sunny days and mild nights with no rain, the track was mostly dry and the deep mud puddles could easily be skirted around on dry tracks
Company
I did not want to tackle the track on my own as my vehicle is not fully set up for hard core 4 wheel driving, no winch or high lift kit which would be advisable, especially after rain
Luckily I found a group of other geocachers who were planning to tackle the track and I quickly agreed to join in the group
Today was the day
After spending many hours the previous afternoon removing all my work tools and other stuff out of my vehicle and packing in all my camp gear, I was ready to go early in the morning
Stopping to fill up with fuel on my way out of town then continuing on to pick up my passenger Mistraluna
While we had discussed a rough plan of finding caches on the way to Hyden I was not prepared for the coming adventure that this day would prove to become
Luckily we had all day today and tomorrow to get to Hyden where we would meet up with the other members of our party
On the way we stopped to top up with fuel and headed for our first cache of the day
From the fuel station we drove east to Pinjarra then on Pinjarra - Williams road, through Dwellingup, continuing east until we reached the power line road just past East Boundary rd. We made a left turn here and started heading north
The road was quite good and I did not need to use 4 wheel drive
I was thrilled to see a great number and variety of wild flowers along the roadside which I had not seen before
Our journey continues
Day 6
A busy day caching around town today
Time for us to head out of town now, I know Mistraluna wanted to get every cache in town but we did not have time for that on this trip. At least we have an excuse to come back another time and mop up the ones we had to leave behind
we had a bit of fun negotiating to a spot close enough to GZ to have a short walk up the hill to find the cache
Great views of the surrounding area here
Nice to find an ammo can

It has been 4 years since I visited the goldfields with Chwiliwr on the way over to my very first Oz Mega in Murray Bridge back in 2014. We didn't have time to come into Kal and do any caching on that occasion, so I was keen to come and grab at least a few of the special ones around town. Found this one after traveling here from Hyden along the Holland Track with Team Red Roo, m4yb, megawatt60, SeabreezeOZ and ebenie rounding out the convoy. Amazing adventure, but nice to be back in "civilization" and having a few more caches to find. We were still on limited time, so a quick search with favourite points as a filter came up with a list of must do caches to target this morning. This was another one that was on the "Must Get" list for today, doubly so since my companion was having withdrawal symptoms after the Holland Track and needed to test out his driving skills around the rocky terrain here. We certainly had some fun getting to gz, but once there we made a quick find. Amazing scenery from nearby, with one of my fav pics from the whole trip being taken there - the colours were spectacular. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for the rest of us to come and find Diaboli-Kal
Hi there Diaboli-Kal - today is day 4 of our Holland Track adventure and with Geocaching in mind this cache was on the list. We are staying in Coolgardie for two nights and with no caches to find there we decided to target a few caches in Kalgoorlie. The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to Diaboli-Kal for this cache.
Out for a Sunday explore of the south KAL area with the crew. Thanks for the cache!
After an interesting hike (the colours are just stunning!) it was a group effort to unlock the container to get the cache. Really enjoyed this one. TFTC!
Didn’t drive to the top – on my own & it looks like many have become stuck – nice big holes – did the walk instead. Gee should have done my homework on this 1 – luckily GPS had the description. A nice cache location & design – a fav with me – thanks - TFTC / TFTH / SL
Nice drive up the steep hill, kids loved it, took nothing but left a red teddy bear that came all the way from cossack Wa 1876km away
I have been looking at this listing for a couple of years now, hoping to find it the next time I was in Kalgoorlie (how did I never realise there was a combination lock!). Finally, this time I found myself with a few hours to come out and clear up these few caches in the hills.
I headed over after finding the two towers, so took the tougher track in but enjoying myself. I parked at the suggested waypoint and headed up the hill to make the find. Thanks for the adventure!
Day 5 of my Adelaide to Perth drive after heading to the Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs. I stayed overnight with family in Kalgoorlie and hung around town for a few hours this morning to pick up a few caches that have so far eluded me in the area before heading for Esperance this arvo.
TFTC Diaboli-Kal.
Diaboli-Kal, KrabiBoy found your cache Gold Rock View on 7/5/17.

Chasing a number of smileys around Kalgoorlie today.
Quiet spot, walked up and found the well hidden container, TFTH.

Travelled and climbed for a great view back over the super pit stockpiles, cache container in good conditions, but unfortunately or fortunately for me a previous cacher did not arm the cache properly, i ran out okif daylight to disarm the lock and re lock as intended. Brilliant rocks here, fav point for the view
Took awhile to find the puzzle to open the lock quite new at this great walk and scenery TFTC
Directions are spot on. The Mazda 5 gave up at the bottom on the "steep" hill. Great view and TFTC
Bought a landcruiser ute a couple of weeks ago after selling the mighty black patrol. What better hill to test new 4x4 on? Turns out chance of success is greatly increased if the hubs are locked in. Anyway, made it to the top and quickly found the cache. Did some on the spot mental mathematics and signed log. Cheers for the cache
Took the hard road in! Great climb, found the cache, had the combination worked out, signed the log and slid back down the hill! Found the easy road out! TFTC
Went out on the bike to check the lock. It worked perfectly. Make sure your maths is up to scratch to work out the correct combination.
Decided to walk this In from the first waypoint for exercise. What a great walk! We live in a beautiful country. TFTC and the last minute surprise challenge. I suppose I should have read it properly! A fav point for this
We continue our slow trip home from the OzMega Event in Murray Bridge, but we have fallen in love with Kalgoorlie and have decided to stay for a couple of days. Due to time constraints we randomly selected caches to tackle today but we didn't have as much luck as we would have hoped clocking up 4 DNFs and 12 finds.
We eventually found our way to the designated parking area and climbed the hill to GZ. We weren't prepared for the maths puzzle at the end but our primary schools maths came to the fore in the end and the cache was opened and log signed.
Thanks Diaboli-Kal for the cache

A beautiful day for a walk in the bush (not to sure about a maths lesson while there). We got it first go

Thanks for the hide Diaboli-Kal! Yay a *FTF* Great cache. I saw this one pop up very early at 5.30am but left it to a more sane time in the afternoon to make the find. Enjoyed challenging our car and our driving taking the track in from the twin towers then heading out along the suggested track. The rocks at the cache have some interesting colours and textures. I can see why you called it Gold Rock Views. Great views from the cache thanks for taking us here.
