Walked by here today with hopes of having a look for the cache. The GZ area is currently roped off to provide space for a mama sea lion and her pups. Will try again later in the year.
168th PMO cache logged by basic member. Co'ods lead us straight over to the GZ, sensible eyes spotted right access through the weeds and cap avoided low branches from scalping me as cache was drawn from hide. As all the other premium members have stated few times, the field puzzle has seen better days since Dec'20 and is quite worn out to open. Some premium hands have destroyed what used to be a novel cache and now you see them everywhere, and some in same big fisted condition. PMO has not saved this cache from stoopidity. A dry logbook in a holed baggy was dry to sign log, just like what the cache tells finders to do. Bring your own pen to SL since there isn't one in cache. A little more patience was employed to close the cache onto the original track to seal it. No images in the cache gallery, have the 1st one by a basic member. Even without premium we found this cache easily with so much history along this drive trying out the archived multi up by the bricked tower, another short lived multi nearby was poorly thought through as the black nano behind the dots kept getting muggled. Returned PMO cache back under some clinker to keep it hidden from plain view, and sand drifts. We watch the ongoing carousel of red tail lights turning around at the gates of wrath most evenings from up high at our residence on the hill overlooking most of South Dunedin; sometimes those red lights gets shafted along by red and blue lights but not a lasting effect as there are still plenty of beer bottles littering the GZ down the slope from the mouse hole tree. Have the first photo in the gallery courtesy of a basic member. 101 logs. *High fav **14favs** 2nd Favorite Fan! Heart challenge **20pt 35th** mystery **550pt***. TFTC
It took me a while to find this one. The hint suggests looking on the wrong side of the hint object.
As others have noted, the field puzzle is worn. Still a find is a find when you are able to sign the book. TFTC Stegan.

Quick find with a bit of scrabbling in the bushes. Field puzzle not working very well, though.
I sent Mr C in for this. He braved the twigs and sticks. Field Puzzle not 100% functional. Would have been a very rewarding solve. TFTC
Sadly the plastic has worn as it is a much loved cache. It was a bit of a maze trying to reach it without being attacked by the bush that was guarding it.
Jude_E and I are on another road trip. We stayed in Dunedin last night. It was a bit rainy yesterday. That hindered the caching a bit. It's just blowing a gale at the moment. Thanks for hiding this cache Stegan I appreciate it.

On a caching trip to the Dunedin area with Nosynel. Third day and we wanted to get this one so did a few others then returned when the bollards were removed at 11. The puzzle container has become worn sadly so not as much of a challenge to access the log book as it once was. Many thanks!

Beautiful day at the beach... found cache quickly... couldn't work out of puzzle was still functional as opened easily. Pencil inside needs a good sharpen.
Very cold up on the road today - ice cream headache material just from the wind - and also the hailstorms didn't make it much fun either. That didn't stop all the dog walkers and other pedestrians though! I found the cache and extracted it without too much problem - in fact it was probably too easy; perhaps the puzzle is getting a bit worn. Apart from that all good here. TFTC.
Oh that one of fun. Got some strange looks when back on the street, but having found a ball next to the cache, everyone probably just assumed I'm an over caring dog owner. TFTC
Approached GZ as the barrier was being closed for the day. Plenty of cover to work out the field puzzle & sign the log. It was then just a matter of timing my exit from cover so as not to attract unwanted attention. TFTC
Decided to give this one a go, having found a couple of others up this way, and thought the coast would be pretty clear given that it was a cold, drizzly day. Pulled up and found another car parked close by (of all the vacant spaces for them to be!), but thankfully they pulled away soon after I arrived. Found my way in and headed for the hint area. Soon located the cache and managed to solve the field puzzle without difficulty (I'd come across one of these up on the peninsula high road, so knew what to do). Discovered that another cacher had signed the log today too - quite possibly the occupant of the car that was here when I arrived. Lovely views up here. TFTC.
Finding the best access point and a gap in the muggles proved to be the most difficult part of this one. Have come across a few of these containers so didn’t take too long to get to the logbook. Tftc
Came this way for another puzzle and decided to stop for this guy, quickly sorted what was required and log soon in hand and replaced as found. tftc
Visiting Dunedin with grandson as attending an event tomorrow. A wee bit of caching around the 'burbs today to fill in time and grab a few targeted caches on my list. Great to have my offsider to quickly solve this field puzzlean easy place to be able to grab in between walkers on the track tftp
Visiting Dunedin with nana as attending an event tomorrow. Finding a few caches this afternoon. I really want to do a cache like this! Quickly sorted and signed log tftp
I amazed myself with the speed of solving this. Out caching today with Debsnz, two Stegans in one day!
This was fun! Easier to find than we were thinking. The puzzle takes a little fiddling but was nice to sit with. Thanks!!!
After a wet day yesterday (and an ankle deep wade to the Elton John concert last night) we are pleased to have nicer weather for caching in Dunedin today.
One of us spied the container from one side, then crawled into the bushes from another to retrieve it. Nice little field puzzle, thanks.

I scrambled through Bush and got my leg smeared with some type of poo. I spotted the cache and went in from a different angle when the muggles weren't watching. A very cool cache.

Good I by accident dropped it down the hill but got it back and it’s in a good spot
At a recent gathering of southern cachers, a plan was hatched. We need favourite points
..but where to find them????
Dunedin was the decision.
I had to work on my A game to convince the co driver that attendance was compulsory.
So a day of caching and we have keep a low profile so let's see what to day brings.
A great start to the day.
Only a few seconds to open up this one as it's not my first of this type.
Found with Annielin

Down in dunnas for the weekend "caching up" with kjr Sunday morning walk along the prom nice quick find and easy open tftc
Out and about for a Sunday stroll along John Willy Drive with BCD. Not many people about first thing but there was on our return. Found this along the way and really enjoyed the type of puzzle which I've never come across before. TFTC
We'd seen something very similar in a new cache further south, so this was a piece of cake to solve. Great idea!
There's a new one near Winton like this, which after 15 minutes i gave up and haven't returned to yet. This one, took about 15 seconds. Thanks.
Nice walk along the top looking down at the beach. Worked out how to access (although regretted the flip flop choice of footwear!) and with a little wiggle I was soon signing the log. Good container.
Thanks for placing and greetings from the .

Not a good start to the day. No luck here though I didn't look that thoroughly as there were far too many people walking past. Maybe if I had got out of bed an hour earlier I might of had a better chance. As it was 8ish seemed to be a popular time to walk a dog.
Hopefully I'll have better luck next time.
Hopefully I'll have better luck next time.
Found with Dirtyhelmut. After we visited the City, we make a stroll to the Beach from the nearly Caravanpark. Nice Mystery. TFTC
Doing a little walk from the nearby campground to the beach watching the sunset and making a few caches ! Thanks for this one !
#14696. We spent a very enjoyable day in the Dunedin area caching with KiwiChris and Mrs KC. GZ was hard to get at, but once the cache was retrieved it didn't take long to get at the log book. TFTC.
StreetWalker braved the bushes and came up with the goods this time. Opening the container was straight forward, so we all signed returned everything to their rightful places and went on our way.

Found with StreetWalker, KiwiChris and Charlotte on day 6 of our road trip to the Oamaru Geofest, taking the scenic route, of course. Today we are exploring Dunedin and surrounds, on a beautiful spring day.
The trickiest bit was finding the cache, the field puzzle was straightforward. A lovely spot on a nice day. TFTC.

Found with Kerynz on a lovely winters morning. Would be difficult in the summer with more people around. TFTC!
I thought this puzzle would be beyond my ability but at GZ grabbed the cache pretty quickly and got hold of the log. Cool container. The hardest part was getting the container securely closed. Log all good. Found with Frame Family. Tftc
A forty minute walk from home to get there. Puzzle quickly solved and like many others had found out it took a bit longer to put back together. This cache is a great one to do at this time of the year for the January Spelling Challenge cache (GC5HD7J).
Out for a wander on a windy night. Quickly found and figured out, using the tree as shelter. TFTC
Heading south for a wee family holiday. Family caught a cheap early flight down to Dunedin this morning...and will spend the day exploring Dunedin attractions...whilst I drive down to meet them...and find a cache or two along the way!
Made it to Dunedin roughly at the expected time (4:30pm)...met up with the family; settled in to our overnight cabin. Came out for a quick walk to find a couple close caches. Nice spot & field puzzle. Pleased it was evening, the road was closed and I had the place to myself in the cool wind of evening. Cheers.

Out for an early morning walk before the muggles arrived, had this cache on my radar as a must do! Back home we have made some puzzle caches similar and because we make them we never have a chance to solve them! At gz found the cache unfortunately upside down with the lid off and contents still under the container! Grabbed the puzzle and it was only one step away from opening signed the log and relocked the puzzle and replaced in container all dry for the next person! Loved the concept of the cache haven't seen a puzzle this this one thanks for the cache!
Well this was an experience, the road was fairly busy so I waited for a gap with nobody about then entered GZ. Found the cache and opened it without much problem replaced the cache, but then came the fun. I slowly crawled towards the exit and looked around a dog walker was approaching so I ducked back inside only for two dogs to run over to me and start sniffing around. Luckily the dog owner walked on as I emerged from GZ a fairly disheveled 50 year old man on his hands and knees on to the road. I quickly got up and walked away trying to look as casual as possible TFTC
I thought my days of being embarrassed were over after my kids grew up -then we discovered geocaching - which gives a whole raft of situations that you struggle to explain.... in NZ with djelibeli in a camper van.
Needed a mystery one today, had a few planned but weather wasn't playing its part so glad to claim this one.
Our mission day today and this was to be one of many. But that didn't end up as planned. Was good to get this one at least. Nice container. TFTC
Down for the Highlanders Game and we decided a brisk afternoon walk was required. Parked up the hill and wandered along Johnny Wilson quickly found the cache and had the log book in a jiffy. Man Dunedin is lucky to have so many clever Stegan caches! Thanks for the cache.
A quick and stealthily grab with Survey Base. Haven't come across one of these types puzzles before so good job Stegan! TFTC
A slightly sunnier day than what we're used to while walking along here, made brighter by virtue of this find - a nifty idea, and after a brief heart in mouth moment, the log was duly signed...cheers stegan.
What a neat wee container!!!! Solved the 'puzzle' pretty much by accident, but still gave us a laugh It was blowing a friggen tornado up there today, very very few people out. So actually the hiding spot was quite a relief from the wind. Coming back out was quite interesting. Managed to poke my head out and see that the coast was clear before we drunkenly stumbled out
found it ok Stegan

Upfront a fav from me.
Loved the container. It was a lovely evening and at 8.45pm I thought it would be low muggle numbers by now. A gap in people and I managed to duck in without anyone seeing me. Light levels were still good enough to work through the puzzle. As I was signing the log a dog walking muggle stopped outside of the bush on his phone. As quietly as I could I stated putting everything back but had to stay in the hiding spot for 5 minutes for him to move on .... lol. Took a lovely walk along the beach as the sunlight disappeared and the waves to get lit by moonlight.
Everything in good safe condition when I left.

It was a very wet day so filled in some time waiting for the gates to open and then made the drive along here. Nice and straight forward field puzzle and great to get another smiley to our map. TFTC
In the only mad walker out here today. Had more trouble putting it back than retrieving
Enjoyed this one which was something different to what I'd seen before. It didn't take too long before the log was in hand and signed. TFTC!
Given the string of DNFs I'd had on this puzzle run, it was good to actually find something. And find I did! What a clever little puzzle, and in a great spot to boot! Had to time everything just right, though, because it was the middle of a Sunday afternoon...! Thankfully, I found my muggle-free windows and had no issues. Cheers again Stegan - favourite for the puzzle!
I am over here from Brisbane for the week, so I spent the day out collecting caches with GPSmith and Rocket_Candy. This was quite an easy puzzle but very cool nonetheless. A nice walk to the cache as well. TFTC
Was having a driving lesson out this way and thought I may as well check it out. Managed to get to the log fairly quickly and actually had more trouble putting it back. Thanks
Was heading for another cache when we literally stumbled on this cache location. I had looked at this puzzle here in ChCh before are trip but with limited time discounted this one as a cache to get because of the onsite puzzle requirement (never been any good at field puzzles) but since we found it thought we would give it a go and got it in short order and managed to sign. Great puzzle in the end.
Park and grab? More of a park, stroll, check dogwalkers in distance, junglegym grovel and grab! Got the first attempt to put it back together again wrong. Had been wondering what stegan was planning for that last spot on JWDrive; now I know!
Today was a magnificent day! Much better then we had expected for our weekend down in Dunedin. We quickly found the cache and worked out how we needed to retrieve it. Thanks for the puzzle!
Found with Chosen1978 on a day trip north to help clean up Signal Hill and grab a few caches while in town. Enjoyed the field puzzle. TFTC
Granville86a had this one found and solved before I got around the other side. Great container, TFTC
On a glorious sunny morning we were biking on JW Drive with our GPS/Smartphones. We'd used the excuse of needing to exercise the dog to check out Natalie247's multi which we wanted for an August souvenir. Seeing it was a Stegan puzzle, we hesitated to attempt it without significant preparation, but the phone told us it was on the way home, so PC Sniff suggested a recce ....
PC Sniff reached ground zero before me and spied a likely cache location. "I'll hold your bike," he offered as I arrived.
PC Sniff stood guard/played decoy and controlled the dog while I braved possible dog poo to retrieve the cache.
PC Sniff made suggestions as to how the puzzle was to be solved as I actually did the experimentation.
PC Sniff provided helpful warnings like "I wouldn't sit on the grass, dog's wee there all the time," while I sat down to persevere with the puzzle.
Finally PC Sniff crowed "That's what I told you to do," as I revealed the logbook.
So I'd like to express my gratitude to PC Sniff for his invaluable assistance, along with a big THANKS to Stegan from both of us for placing another fun cache.

Real easy find and puzzle with some help from my obedient assistant. Although it was a puzzle in itself holding two bikes and a dog while watching not only for muggles but hidden dangers like the wet patch a dog leaves behind. TFTC
Have been meaning to come along here, and today was the day - great company and mild weather, what a treat! The drive was very busy with people enjoying a bit of sun, but we managed to find some breaks in the flow of people to investigate the location. Nice field puzzle, not too bad to open, took longer to close Thanks for an enjoyable cache that requires a bit of thought/skill!!!

I had been planning to come down to Dunedin on this weekend for quite a while! And what wonderful luck that it happens to be the weekend of no events in Chch, and an event and a CITO in Dunedin! Worked out absolutely perfectly!!
Went out in the late morning after a leasurely breakfast to go and collect some specific caches with mum and my fiancee.
Found the cache container pretty easily, and yeah I loved the puzzle!!! Totally gets a fave, and a very quick solve from me! Didn't take much time to nut this one out! And luckily managed to do the ducking inbetween muggles, as this was a very very busy morning out here today! This has become like the Hagley Park of Dunedin!!

Not many people out here this afternoon. Found the cache quickly but getting to the log took a little longer and then replacing it took just about as long. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Nice to find some cover at GZ as it took some minutes to get to the log. Found with debsnz
We found the cache fairly quickly, despite a large number of walkers in the area, and the field puzzle was quite straightforward. Worth a favourite. TFTC
Oh well here goes... favorite walking place during a break in muggles, on hands and knees under the bush, praying there is a pencil and I am not kneeling in dog-do and that no one spots me coming out.
Yes!! Had this one sussed out for a while, just had to wait for the right moment. The joys of caching I guess! tftc
