#963. Time to collect a few caches to build my numbers to the 35 required for the Museum Mystery (this is #24, last one for the day and just 11 more required). I had a nice walk with GB Leader around Porirua City, but now it is time to head home. Got 12 caches today, after a delayed start due to inclement weather forecast.
Solved this cache over two years ago, and now time to grab it. The suggested route to GZ was not really necessary as there is a direct path to the cache directly from the south. Lots of blackberry on the other side. Found the cache very easily, as it was lying on the ground exposed. Covered it up after signing the log, with appropriate material.

solved the puzzle a while back but today was the day to find the cache, enjoyed the puzzle and it was a quick find, saw a rat while gathering pine cones nearby! TFTC
Solved the puzzle last night with a bit of online help for the ones we didn't know - another reminder for some of the 'I really should get around to reading that one' books!
Retrieving the cache this morning I was a bit wary about the busy road but once closer to GZ it was much more secluded. A quick find and sign.
(Sorry got my puzzles mixed up - first logged this mistakenly as Who am I #3!)

A quick and easy find. Solved before heading up for the MEGA. Thanks
Today we are heading home so it is a slow trip to the airport from Plimmerton. We cached on the way and were in plenty of time to catch the big bird back to Christchurch. What a great MEGA weekend.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Another fun puzzle to solve, and yes we do remember reading many of those books.
We are caching our way to the Wellington Mega, concentrating on picking up solved puzzles along the way. No problems making the find today. Thanks.

Day one. Part three. I decided to take two extra days off work for WENZ weekend. My flight from Christchurch was in the morning. Bbear44 arrives in the evening. (Hence Part One).
Geo Art is now complete bar one. It's time for some random caching.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

I've read most of these books, but had to resort to Wikipedia for the rest. No problems finding the cache, thanks to the excellent hint. TFTC Mrs SAROC!

I googled my way through this puzzle just a short while ago, and called by the GZ this morning for a quick find of the fresh log sheet. All safe and dry here. TFTC.
Finally!! I must have solved this one over 18 months ago and have driven past at least once a week, each time thinking "I must grab that cache at some point" well today was wet and windy and I got bored of housework so went for a run.... ended up going past this and grabbed it. Hoping I wasnt too conspicuous in my bright pink running jacket!
Cache had quite a bit of water in so I drained it and replaced upside down, and covered so hopefully won't fill up again. Logbook is dry enough to sign
FP for the puzzle and because I'm so glad to finally tick this one off!!

#3932. Needed a couple of caches today so headed out to Tawa to find some puzzles that I had solved a while ago. This one was a fun puzzle to work on and had all the family assisting with the task. Soon had the coordinates identified. Today (Easter Sunday) it was all quiet near the GZ. Headed over to the likely spot and saw the cache hiding place immediately. Signed the log and replaced as found. Nice to have another in the series completed. Thanks for the cache Mrs SAROC.
Lovely sunny Friday afternoon to collect a few caches with tmann421 and EK.spygirl.
Found this one straight away with the useful geochecker hint. TFTC and the fun of the puzzle SAROC

Cache all in good order and managed to collect a few pine cones as well which was an added bonus. Solved puzzle a while ago but good afternoon for a bit of a stretch. TFTC
Fun little puzzle, thanks! Cache easy find. If anyone wants to CITO there's a drier here!
Some of the names where familiar but to match them. Thanks google and thanks for a great cache
I had a rushed look for this yesterday just before dark and turned up nothing. I returned again today for another look before declaring a DNF, but this time at night with a torch and found it really quickly. Maybe I should give up caching in daylight because that's not the first time that's happened.
My third Mrs SAROC mystery cache of the day, easily located just out of view of passing traffic. TFTC
Solved ages ago. Was in the area this morning so I decided to go the final coords. A quick find and all in order. TFTC
I enjoyed the puzzle and the cache was a quick find. Thanks for setting up these great puzzles and the caches. Now on to the next one.
Enjoyed the puzzle and it is nice to make a find and get a smiley. Thanks for setting this up.
In the area today on a particularly pleasant spring day so decided to pop in and sign the logbook. A Nicely done hide, and all good with the cache itself.

Cache # 2,639 - a quick find of the nicely hidden cache today. Thanks to the CO for replacing it. Loved the puzzle. All is well in the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Took a few goes to work out this puzzle, kept making the same tiny mistake each time and not being able to figure out what I'd done wrong. Reading the logs helped though! found in the early hours of the night with LCBuilder, TFTC
It is disappointing to report that the cache with its uniquely themed log book has been muggled and everything taken. This morning I have replaced it with a temporary container which has camo tape around it and a 'plain vanilla log' so that it may continue to be found.
When we can obtain a replacement log book in keeping with the cache theme, we'll substitute it for the temp cache.
Hint in the Geocheck slightly amended as to where the cache has been placed. Please hide back with plenty of local cover which in itself looks natural when you leave.

Can owner please verify cache is still there. Lots of loggers said easy, but no sign of anything today...
Enjoyed solving the puzzle. Going to GZ today was less enjoyable. After two previous DNFs I figured I would have no problem finding this SAROC cache. Wrong. No sign of a cache anywhere near any of the hint objects. Hands needed a thorough washing after digging through all the debris on the ground in case it was buried - even closely examined some nearby rubbish, including some 2x4 frame and a large mat. Area shows signs of some regular use, as there are clearly trodden paths running nearby. Suspect cache is AWOL.
Nice themed hide! started a new chapter of the log book and read a few pages on. Thanks for the effort that has gone into this one! TFTP and TFTC
Well that was a pretty novel idea for a Novel Cache, cool container, signed a page on the logbook and another chapter is now completed. Thanks, we’re loving these themed hides, TFTC.
An interesting puzzle. I only knew a couple of answers without doing some research.
The cache was easy to find.
A novel idea for a log book. Very nice.
Thanks.

Great cache thanks very much. The book used for the logbook is one of very few that I can recite word for word. This is very worthy of a favourite point from me.

A novel cache indeed! Though I certainly didn't expect to see one turned into a log book. A great short NZ classic which until today I had never had a chance to read. A nice quick find in one of those places no-one would ever stop unless it was for geocaching. TNLNSL TFTC
I regret to say that I had to look up all of them!
I always look forward to doing a Saroc/Mrs Saroc cache as I know it will be of a good standard and there is likely to something interesting about the cache itself. I was not disappointed as this cache is of a good size and has a very interesting logbook. A bit disappointing that it had not been found for nearly a month, the puzzle isn't particularly hard!
Approaching from the suggested perspective meant that for me the cache was actually at the other end of the items than the last part of the hint suggested but this was not a problem as the coordinates are spot on and I walked straight up to the cache.
Although I was there around midday and there was a centre of muggle activity not far away I was able to approach without being seen and once at GZ there was good cover.
TFTC.

Nice and quiet when I called past early this morning and just light enough at 10 to 5 to not have to use a torch. Another well thought out puzzle. I like these ones. Cheers and TFTC
I thought I had worked this out sometime ago, if I did it wasn't on GPS until UlmusLynx sent it. A quick find on way to world earth cache day in Whitby. TFTC
I solved this about the time it was published, but only got the chance to grab it today. Another fantastic cache and logbook from Mrs SAROC. TFTC
#1209 Braved the rain late this morning to find some puzzles that I solved last night. This one was very well covered but the hint in the geochecker helped me track it down. Nice sized cache and a very clever idea for the logbook. Liked the puzzle- some classics in there!
Pretty cool log book.. Really enjoyed the puzzle and find.. Thanks for the cache. Did with Mycro Man on a dot day.
Making an attempt at winter caching. Hard going, the weather is not cooperating at all.
Something of a sad and unhappy place this at times.
Cache find was straightforward, all in order; log signed, safely re-hidden.
Cache was a novelty affair, enjoyed that thanks.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

A very well done cache, I had solved the puzzle some time ago and had been keeping this one as a standby in case I needed it. Was in the area today with Mrs agcnz so made it our cache of the day. A quick and easy find, right up to the high SAROC team standard. We loved the logbook, Mrs agcnz knows that one so well that when I missed a page as we went through it, she told me exactly what I had missed! Signed log, thanks for another great one and it gets a favourite point
Quick find, cache was a little exposed so have added a bit more natural cover. Had to chuckle at the log TFTC
Find #2006. A miserable day, wet & cold so great for picking up odd caches in the Tawa area. Worked this one out, checked Google maps for the final and added to my list to find today. Nice cache, love the log book. SL TFTC
Managed to pair up quite a few that I knew myself but had to rely on google to fill the remaining gaps. Nice to log my find while in the area this morning, gets a favourite from us. TFTC, #6654
Found this morning in between the rain. Nice puzzle having read some of these as a child (and avoided others). Some even read to my kids. Nice theme to cache. Left a TB brought back from a recent trip to San Fran who needed a little look around New Zealand. TFTP and TFTC.
Another great wee puzzle and final. The log book is very cool. Very pleased to have this one off my list. TFTP
A beautiful winter's day, so a perfect opportunity to catch up on a few local caches. This was a fun puzzle to solve, managed to get quite a few from memory before having to resort to further research.

This cache formed part of our 2 day assault on Wellington puzzle caches (with a few traditionals thrown in as well) whilst we prepared to attend SAROCs Winter Solstice event and pick up Grunta1's Bakers Dozen challenge.
Cache took a while to find (searcher error!) , after a walk down memory lane with the puzzle solve. A favourite point from us for the journey back to my childhood - had read several of the books! Even learnt about a new geo tool as part of decoding hint!

#5540. Had solved the puzzle earlier in the week, but decided against coming out at night for this one. Came around today. Still all quiet ... and a quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Solved a while back, but saved for a quick find when I was in the area. TFTC - I love puzzles!
I was not surprised in the least to discover that this was another fun puzzle to solve. I was able to make a bit of a start from memory before I had to undertake more research.
To find the cache, I had to visit a spot I hadn't been to before. I took a moment to work out the best way of getting to where I needed to be and then remembered I already had this information. It was very thoughtful and helpful of the cache owner to include this in the geocheck result.
Our foodle, Biddy bears some resemblance to Hairy Maclary.

I was working in Christchurch when this was published, and was glad to find some time yesterday to solve the puzzle. I knew a few but most of the answers were googled. In the area today and approached GZ as suggested by the CO. Some evidence of geo-scrabbling was obvious, and it initially put me off looking in the correct place. Had to return to the car for a pen, as I had left mine in the previous cache. Dropped an appropriately-colored, if not correctly-themed pen for future finders. TFTC
This should have been a cache for the wife (once something of an expert in children's books) unfortunately few children actually read these titles anymore (with an obvious exception). By myself I could only come up with two answers luckily Mr Google was very helpful and in fact I knew (of) every book in the end. The final cache was up to Mrs SAROC's usual standards (although a certain American my be subverting the theme). The real problem is I now have to go out and do some ordinary caches to earn a FP.
Note about S. I was always a good boy and did what I was told so calculated S without looking for shortcuts. I suspect this may not apply to Yeetrees .

Quick pick up after school drop off. Puzzle caused a few problems as I was in a hurry to solve and forgot my capitals on the first attempt.
Familiar with a lot of the books, but still needed Mr Gs advice for a few characters.
Another nicely themed cache logbook and contents.

Added my sixpence worth to bkj97's solving last night. He said the cat helped with some of the answers but I doubt the validity of this. Yet another short detour on the way to town. Another quality puzzle and a well themed cache container that had me reciting all the way back to the car. T4TCSL favourite added.
This one popped up too late for a detour on the way home yesterday so a quick detour this morning was in order. Not surprised to see a few usual suspects had been visiting. Glad there was a specific instruction in the geochecker as the gps was as confused as I usually am. Well themed final that got the chicken going. Worth a favourite. TFTCSL
A nice quick fimd this evening after a quick solve but still too slow for the FTF. TFTC
Whooppeee; another FTF, (19:00). Saw this cache when it was published and thought to myself I wonder who has published this cache when I saw the name of the cache oh no, not another one well what do you know, crap not at home, lucky I had my laptop and was able to access the internet [B)][:o)].
Reading the cache page I wondered to myself what the [:(!][8)], oh no, Uhmm!!!!, oh yes I remember reading some of these the best book that I still remembered reading was as follows
the sun did not shine.
it was too wet to play.
so we sat in the house
all that cold, cold, wet day.
i sat there with sally.
we sat there, we two.
and i said, 'how i wish
we had something to do!'
too wet to go out
and too cold to play ball.
so we sat in the house.
we did nothing at all.
so all we could do was to
sit!
sit!
sit!
sit!
and we did not like it.
not one little bit.
and then something went BUMP!
how that bump made us jump!
we looked!
then we saw him step in on the mat!
Finally after a bit of work and toing and froing I finally got something that made sense, I decided that I would check it on my GPS before trying the Geochecker, after I was happy with it I decided to check it and got a tick on my first try , Yah.
Was at the other end of town in Kilbirnie when I solved it and wondered if I was going to make it back to GZ before the FTF was gone, probably not, but I needed a cache for today and decided that I was going to give it a go anyway.
Arriving near GZ was able to find a carpark not too far from GZ and I noted that there wasn't anyone around, so managed to check if I had my torch and found it was there, after a short walk I soon arrived near GZ but misread the hint a bit, approaching GZ I kind of took the wrong approach and started to get a bit too close to a hazard spot and nearly fell in [:(!][xx(] balancing on one foot I manage to retrieve my composure and saved myself . Finally getting to GZ after a short search I managed to find the cache in the first spot I looked, opening the cache was rapped to find an empty logbook, after signing and replacing the cache I decided that I would take a more-less disastrous route back to the car, thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this very interesting spot, have been pass this spot numerous times but this was the first time I have ever stopped here, thanks for bringing back some early memories as well, and a very well themed cache, TFTC TNLNSL (7948), Yeetrees FTF Craze also decided to come along and check it out as well, I think this cache also deserves a favourite point just for the adventure alone.
