The tricky series has been in for a couple of years now. Time for some cache recycling - thanks to all who enjoyed the Christchurch Tricky experience!

Nice spot. Went directly to cache. Cheers. Found at 1600hrs

+ Donald Duck
- nil

Looked in area specified by hint, not much luck, however, search was somewhat hindered by suspicious looks from DOC volunteers under the supervision of John! Talked to him, he knew about the cache, but didn't know if it had been moved.
Quite possibly still there - combination of DOC volunteers, long grass and a distaste for putting my hands into places I can't see somewhat hindered my search!

Beautiful day (the first day of standard time.) The coordinates were pretty well spot on.Bit od water onthcache so dried it out. On the way back lingered in the bird hide, and then meandered off the track onto a nice piece of grass that turned out to be wet, and 300mmm deep. Still smiling though. Smile
Cheers, Rod M

easy find some one has been out with the weed killer it would be a real bitch it the grass was long

12-Dec-03
This was a fabulous spot to visit in the evening as we did, birds etc all flying around and nesting for the night. Found the cache after a few false alarms - and reluctance to put hands too far into nasty flax bushes in case of spiders. Will hold off doing anything with the code clue until more Trickys are found.

25-Oct-03
Papa Bear got frustrated crawling around by himself, and so went off to do t2 and t3 before returning with Mama Bear.
More crawling and then Mama Bear snatched it from under Papa Bear's very paw!
Some quite large Pukekos and an interesting white-headed bird paid us no attention whatsoever as we walked in and out again.
Now, off to do some decoding! ("1 plus 1 is umm...")

08-Oct-03
Easily found the cache once I realised that the co-ords downloaded into my GPS differed from those on the instruction sheet.
Looks like I've got some work to do with the clues and 3 more caches to find.
Maybe on my next trip to ChCh...

27-Jul-03
2 attempts to find the right entrance and then GPS took us right to the right spot, but no amount of hands and knees searching was successful. Will have to have another go at this one at a later date. The bonus was the great walk around the wetland. Thanks for that!

19-Apr-03
CoolGot back to Tricky1 after no find in November. Wish we hadn't bothered after looking at the clue. Binary - yuk - off, off, off, on, off etc etc. Looks like the instructions for a complicated train set.

Spot on coords- no clues used. Nice hiding spot, nice spot for a walk. Fascinated by the pictures of the lookout on the far side. With any luck it might be near the Angela cache.
Brought John and Sunny ( two Korean boys that we are looking after ) to have a go caching.
Had to leave Hg in the car.

We found this first cache without difficulty - must have been lucky with our entry point. Accompanied by Varuna from Australia. Now to decipher the clue.

27-Feb-03
Accompanied sp00k and Ciotach to the first cache site without any difficulty. They are now onto tricky 2, 3, and 4. I returned to Oz.

The hardest part for this cache is finding the right entrance. We were close but on the wrong side of the river. Once we were at the correct starting place the GPS took us straight there. Found by Jordan (8).
Thanks Guys

Good cache hiding spot. Found it eventually after finding the correct entrance to the wetland. Now onto tricky 2, 3 and 4

14-Jan-03
Went in to visit today after noticing cachers having trouble finding it. Cache is still there and in good condition. I've adjusted the coords for this site slightly - should be a bit more accurate now. I've also upgraded the hints a little.

Searched and searched - never want to look inside Tui food ever again. Pic is a screen dump of our search around the waypoint.

Nice spot though.

Finally had some free time to get this last one but no luck. Partly since my botany knowedge is very limited. I need to research the plant mentioned in the hint. Then I may find it. Oh Well. I will be back to try again.

Well we've conquered this one! Thanks Tim for the hint - it did help and this time we went straight there. We've enjoyed the series but now it's up to Rodney to solve the problem and get us to Tricky 4!!

Well we found Tricky 2 & 3 and this seemed to be on our way home so thought we might as well get this one as well, but it just wasn't to be. We know we were at the right place, even looking in the right place but 40 minutes later, getting colder and darker, we decided to give up for today. We'll be back!

Found it after about 20min, GPS took me within 10m, which left me with quite a few bush's to look around. Nice spot, heaps of wildlife was out and about today. Took the clue, as I think I'll need it Wink. Off to find 2 & 3.

Cheers guys.

First to find it in the new position. Spent a while looking near the right sort of thing, eventually Andy stumbled upon it. Cheers tim for this cache, off to decrypt the clue - hmmm binary. Shouldn't be too hard for a couple of electrical engineers.... Smile Nice spot, took a couple of photos, might post one if they're any good and don't give things away.

27-Jun-02
Found it after looking under umpteen cabbage trees. Very nice spot, lots of wildlife. Noticed they had started to weed the first part of garden, so they might find cache. Took clue (no 3) will decipher and get the last one now?
Cheers Steve & Ruth Smile

By now we knew we had been beaten to the punch by Gavin and BaldEd, but it was still nice to go somewhere we had not been before. Even after playing golf a number of times at QEII I did not even know this place existed. Now we just have to work out the clues Twisted
Cheers

Good to see you all found the cache ok. 'tis a nice little spot - my brother designed the 'bird-hide' nearby.

07-May-02
Came here after hunting for tricky2 and tricky3. Tricky3 proved to much, so I thought the trick would be to find tricky1 in the meantime. Took about 10-15 minutes to find. Noted that BaldEd had already found it this morning. Another nice spot. Grabbed the code - no hint and decided to have another go at tricky3. Cheers Gav [73]

After a brief unsuccessful search at the base of the spicky plant at the cooordinate (my GPS) a slightly expanded search within the displayed EPE soon disclosed the cache. First to visit at 11.27 am. Off to visit tricky 2 and 3.
