Fortunately this was a faster find than some of the others this afternoon. A quick hunt around and Franklin was soon found hiding in his protective bush. TFTC
Beaten by both Franklin's, not good for the Wombat. GZ was extremely grassy, and I was reluctant to put my feet anywhere I couldn't see dirt in case I ended up in the drink with the turtles.
Looked but its freezing so we gave up. We will turn this from upside down another day.
Very windy, lots of waves out on the water and still weather warnings today . Due to these conditions Franklin was tucked up keeping warm but agreed to come out and say gday. Once signing duties were performed we tucked him back up to keep warm. Tftc
All A ok. this cache is in great condition and still in its original spot and all nice and dry and just waiting to be found again. Cheers.
We visit Swan Hill, Mildura, Renmark, Barossa Valley, Victor Harbour, Tailem Bend and the last night at Ballarat. Stopped for few caches on the way to South Australia. We had a lot of fun travelling these roads and seeing the farms and wildlife along the way. We found a range of caches. Many thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches.
On an west to east and back roadtrip... Today in Swan Hill to get a few things done. We headed out to explore Pental Island this afternoon, and then looped around via fish point road and the back of the lake... Interesting to be driving through so much farmland and then just pop out into this little holiday haven. A short stop and wander down the overgrown pathway, it wasn't long before Franklin yelled "hey...!" And I replied "Hi, Franklin!" just like all his friends. Thanks for the fun hide here Sparra0907
This was a very clever hide and the coordinates are about 5m off. The squashed down grass helped locate it. Mr P found it. Your hides are very good Sparra0907
Again 6 m away from GZ, not too far from the track!Only one other signature on the new log too, but the mascot is the significant marker!Thats all folks. Have a good day. TFTC
A plan was devised by Phetlern and Suscoe to do a caching trip around Swan Hill.
Geoturtle37, Papi4506 and ourselves were invited to go along.
Day 4. A lap from Swan Hill to the country side and back again.
Unless otherwise stated - all good here.
All caches signed as the 'B Team', 'DGP' or 'The Drovers'. Replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sparra0907, and for Phetlern & Suscoe for the invite.

Geoturtle37 and I are having a great time caching with The Drovers, Suscoe and Phetlern in and around the Swan Hill area.
We had looked for this one earlier in the day but to no avail. Armed with a little more information, we made the find this afternoon although it still took all of us quite some time to locate. Thank you for placing the cache for us to find.

Suscoe was out and about enjoying another beautiful day in the Swan Hill Region.
We decided to head south today to enjoy the lakes towards Kernag and then a little bit further before heading back to Swan Hill.
We saw lots and lots of waterbirds, great farming country and interesting rivers and lakes.
We also found some really interesting cache hides in great locations.
We signed the logs as "B Team"
Thanks to Sparra0907 for this hide.
This is another very clever hide that has kept us busy for a number of visits. We were able to finally locate this one today. A nice hide and another favourite.

Out and about on Anzac Day, in the great company of Geoturtle37, The Drovers, Papi4506 & Suscoe, we made a loop trip S. H. to Kerang and return.
We have looked for Franklin on a few occasions without success, today with more folk searching he was found, what a relief!
Satellites today had our GZ 6 metres south east of where we found the cache.
(With 5 teams in the group we signed "B team" to leave room in the logs for future seekers.)
Thanks to the Owner for adding this cache to the gameboard.

Out at boga to check on the water level. Checked on this cache and it's still there. Cheers. All nice and dry and ready to be found again
Again we went out to Boga to check on this cache, and it is still there. Keep looking. Cheers.
Went out again to check on this little fella, and he's still there. Cheers. The CO.
We stayed in Swan Hill for a few days and came down here to do the tourist thing and take a look at the Turtle Lagoon. Couldn't see anything at GZ and didn't want to poke around too much given the environment. Thanks anyway.

All we found here was a clutch of hatched eastern longneck turtle eggs lying all over the place.
Thanks anyway Sparra0907

Hi there Sparra0907.
This is the 4th of 5 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
We spent quite some time here but we just couldn't locate your cache, so here's a DNF from us.
Regards
Ian and Penny

Back again for another look and again we looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
Unfortunately this 2.0/1.5 didn't want to show itself to us today!
Anyway, thanks Sparra0907 for bringing us to this location.

I think Ms Maddy forgot to take her medication when she went to look for this cache. Please ignore all her rants as this cache is still there, all nice and dry and just waiting to be found. Thanks and Cheers. PS, the cache has been there in the same place for months.
Will check this one out later in the week, to see if its still here or not. Cheers. If missing will replace with a new one......again. Cheers.
String of DNFs and no maintenance, this one needs owner intervention of archiving
Waste of time stopping here.

Another sad post. Found turtle eggs so Franklin is here somewhere but no cache
I had a few extra days off work so BettyBoo3747 and I decided to nip across to Swan Hill for a few caches. Been quite a while since we have been here and there are lots of new caches to do.
Did a few caches around Lake Boga in the morning, then a few in Swan Hill in the afternoon.
For all the time we spent at Baby's hide, we found Franklin the Turtle straight away!
He doesn't look like a long necked turtle though.
We were pleased to see him though.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14726. Day 3 of our few days staying at Lake Boga and caching around the area. Not such a successful day for us with the DNF tally starting to climb steadily upwards. I did however manage to get 15 finds. It was tough going with several long searches slowing us down. By 3.00pm we called it quits in frustration and headed back to Lake Boga to relax.
After the last cache we were very pleased to make a quick find on this one. Nice little Franklin and a very pleasant drive around this side of the lake. Back to camp for some lunch before continuing the hunt this afternoon.
Thanks Sparra0907

Thanks to a long weekend (Happy Birthday Queen V!) we had the chance to make a Sunday day trip to Swan Hill where GemmaSistema & family were camping.
We left the muggle husbands with a couple of the kids and headed out with neisha07 & chan02 to cache our way around Lake Boga, Swan Hill & in between. An enjoyable day.
The kids and I had visited here once before with no luck. We were pleased that once we stretched right out, neisha07 managed to locate this elusive one. Happy to turn our blue frown into a yellow smile. TFTC

This afternoon becca85 arrived with her hubby and kids so we split the team (leaving 4 at camp) and headed out with myself, LukeSistema, becca85, neisha07 and chan02 (signing as Team Clarmensma) targeting Lake Boga and surrounds. Becca85 had DNFd this so we were determined to find it. Coords we a bit out but after hunting and looking in the same spot multiple times the 10 year old yelled the magic "got it" words. Woot woot. Nice to find this one. Thanks for the cache.
Oh what a hunt we had today, again. Finally, with the help from a geo friend, Franklin was found. I had even looked here before but not seen him. He is not visible without moving some heavy shrubbery. Mozzies were friendly as always, SL and replaced. TFTC
Lucky for big brothers and time to have a good look! Scotty.fam to the rescue today!
**Went out to Boga on Christmas Eve to check on Mr Franklin for Christmas, and we found that he is still there, all nice and dry and just waiting to be found and get some Christmas signatures. Cheers. The CO.
On a day trip to Swan hill and grabbing a few caches on the way
No Joy here
Not sure but searched all round GZ and area, tones of damage around, CO might want to look and check if its still where its meant to be.

Alas, we too join the DNF list.
We were time limited os had to give up after about 15 minutes of 4 of us searching.
GPS struggled to get a lock so both sides of the path were searched and we widened to a 10 metre stretch but no luck today. We will back next time we're in the area. TFTH

Called in to check on this little fella today and he is still there in the right spot just waiting to be found. He's lonely sitting there by himself and likes people to visit him. Cheers. Sparra0907
OH No 2 DNF's in a row - wish I had more time to spend here ah well back on the road
Sorry to say not today. I should say yesterday as I'm now several hundred k's away. Road trips allow little time to find interesting ones. Oh well next time, I will be back.
Bought the geo kids here so I could spent some time searching around the area for this little fella but I had no luck. Will try again when back in the area. Thanks anyway.
Well well well!! Patience and perseverance certainly paid off here. Took a long time to find this hide and nearly gave up many times.
When we did finally find Franklin we noticed that the poor little fellow had a broken leg so we treated him very gently and placed him back where he belonged.
Unfortunately no other Franklins were spotted during our time here though.
Favourite point and thanks.

Sadly we missed meeting him/her.
Maybe they were swimming given it is a warm day.

Back at Lake Boga to do the caches we missed on the way up to Mildura.
Beautiful but blowy day for caching around this pretty spot.
Thanks Sparra0907 for the hides,

After finding Franklin's Baby Brother, I rolled up to see if I could find Franklin again.
Apparently Franklin was on holidays last time I visited, today it seemed likely he was at home
But again,
just like the last time,
I poked and I prodded,
Peered and doddered !! [:o]
A full hour of searching,
and calling Franklin's name,
and I had to leave with another DNF
A real 'Turtle in a reed bed' type of cache

Poor little Franklin was muggled in May. He has been replaced now and is all set and waiting to be found again. Cheers. Sparra0907.
I spent a relaxed hour or more in this delightful spot searching for Franklin this morning
Franklin did not want to be found and seems to have withdrawn into his shell for winter
I'll try again to find him in spring when a young turtles fancy turns to ... er .... tadpoles (to eat)
Was I disappointed to not find him today ??
Nah !!
Franklin, my dear, I don't give a damn !! [:o)]

After having eluded me on an initial visit some time ago an opportunity in the company of 'Dylan 7a' came up to have another go.
Reading the logs of previous Cachers, we widened our search area from where our GPSr were indicating GZ could be and when 'deducing' that turtles don't fly we had the cache to hand. The well hidden little reptile did not seem the least surprised to be found with his (or maybe, her) expressionless face. Too, not as if turtles can 'flee' very fast anyway.
Very pleased to finally have this one logged.
Thanks to 'Sparra0907' for the caching challenge on this one.

Arggghhhh... Franklin hid from us for quite a while, until I spied him in his hiding-spot! Wish I'd seen a real turtle, but no such luck. On the way out I thought I saw a snake in a log, but turned out to be some honeycomb in a bees nest. Love nature! Thanks for the hide.
This is my second visit to this location. Previously I searched for many minutes before conceding defeat, even had the helpers with me on that occasion. Today however I had cache in hand within one minute, signed the log and was out of there. TFTC
... on the second visit. Beautiful conditions. No bees seen by us, though one or two flies were about.
Signed the log. Maybe I didn't look that closely, but logbook-wise Rampage's looked like the last signature there. Thanks Sparra!
