Searched for a few minutes here to do before I put my hand on it. One muggle here today on the other side of the river checking out slip damage from recent rain

Found caching with alpenmilch80 on day #2 of a 3 day road trip to the Taranaki.
What a damned great spot!
Thanks!
What a damned great spot!
Thanks!
I arrived during the early morning hours via airplane from Auckland to meet up with Slieschke for some geocaching around the mountain. The weather was cloudy but luckily we ended up with a clear view of Mount Taranaki later that day. Thanks for showing us this Dam. TFTC
What a pretty little spot here.. The water looks clean. do people swim in the dam? I wonder.
thanks for this litle hide!

Out and about caching with davycrockpot in Taranaki today. Lived here for a while and have heard about the dam but this is the first time I have been here. Nice hide. Tftc
Found with Geco72 on the return trip to New Plymouth airport. Completing this cache reminded me of the Mangatepopo tragedy from a few years back. Hence treaded very carefully. Fortunately no flash floods nor deaths today.
Finally made it here. Lived in Taranaki all my life and I've never been here. Thanks for bringing me. Photo taken by muggles who interupted me signing the log but didn't see me replace cache. TFTC
Well worth the diversion, quite interesting to see. Still not quite sure what dam dropping is all about but unlikely to be my thing I suspect.

A cool location for a cache - thanks for bringing me here. It was too cold (cough) to go dam dropping today so it'll have to wait for another day [^].
A neat hide - well done 2 Bullbars. Not too sure what the muggle was doing just sitting in her car parked beside GZ. I was glad GZ was out of sight from her.

Off dam busting after all the rain the dam was impressive lucky I managed to get it in a spot of sun shine TFTC
Taking advantage of a spot of reasonable weather and the fact that it was one of the rare days that we had off together we decided a small road trip was in order. Checked out some likely targets and got going.
We had heard about the dam dropping experience but for some reason thought it was much farther up the river than this. We both ventured out and looked at the fall and separately decided that the pastime wasn't for us.
The cache itself was an easy find, but looks as if something has come adrift as there is an unattached nut in the container. The log was signed and we managed to squeeze one of our new pathtags into the bottom.
Thanks for bringing us here, it was interesting and educational. We wondered if the inflatable airbed that we found nearby was an aborted attempt at dam-dropping on the cheap.

So I can now say I have finally been here... Have been wanting to take the family dam dropping for a while and now I know where it is... Watch out next summer...
Thanks for the cache... Nice hide

Have heard about this place but not been before, looks like it could be fun SL TFTC
Showers cleared to give a great view of the mountain and the big volume of water spilling over the dam. A good hide. Tftc Bulbars.
