4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

It was easy to spot as the container was exposed. But to grab it we had to climb further on to the rocks. Got some nasty scratches all over legs before got to the tin. Replaced to a likely place it should have been hiding before.

The big move from Townsville, QLD to Mandurah, WA. After thousands of km's and lots of caching to keep us entertained, we are on our way to Newman to spend a few days with family.

Thanks for putting caches along this route to give us a chance to stretch our legs and escape the car for a while!

Found easily. Although beware that there are some vines around the hide location that present a trip hazard which would be treachorous , so take care.
Interestingly when we did the Gibb River Rd last year there were quite a few caches hidden in much the same spot and one caught the geo wife unawares as a triple roadtrain passed overhead and scared the (cough) out of her. So now she has vowed to not do "troll" caches again....hahahaha.
No choice darling on this one i drove right up under the bridge....hahahhaha

That took a while and I was on the verge of giving up. Coords had me down the bottom which didn't make sense given it would be washed away in a flood. Finally went back to an obvious spot again and looked down to see an eclipse tin hidden in the rocks. I think it must have fallen so put it back in a more 'obvious' spot. Thanks for the hunt Chris.

Maintenance check and all is well.
You can drive right up under Ground Zero but 4x4 necessary to do that
ps you do need your own pen

After driving into town heading the other way yesterday it was time to drive back out of town today and this cache happened to be on the 'right' side of the road for me to find.

Was enjoying the road trip so much that I'd overshot 12mile, and before I knew it , here was another cache to find Smile. Warm sunny arvo, some wildflowers providing thin patches of a crimson/pink in the sandy riverbed - no doubt making the most of the moisture left over from last weekends unseasonal rains.

This was another find in Western Australia while crossing Northern Territory and Western Australia from Darwin to Perth on Gibb River Road through the Kimberlys. During this 8500km journey we've met many nice and friendly people [^], visited countless marvelous places, saw lots of interesting local wildlife (and plants), took some 2500 pictures home and logged some 300 Caches Cool.

One more bridge cache Big Grin.

Thanks for the cache, we've enjoyed it very much [^].

Found this one yesterday with Rotors on our way back to Port Hedland but forgot to log it! Our last one of the day. TFTC

We checked the more obvious places first, then found it in the last place. While we were there a big eagle attacked and killed a white faced heron. Very brutal but interesting to see. TFTC

Mrs Ski sat in the car while Mr Ski went for this one. The traffic was fairly heavy, with road trains and R/V's/caravans in the majority. Some mining vehicles (including a 5 metre wide heavy dozer on a truck) and private 4WD's, but not one single plain ordinary sedan to be seen!! An indication of the conditions usual encountered out here.

A wandering GPS made it a challenge, and the cache was 9 metres away in a very logical place.

FTF Well, good heavens, another unfound cache right on the highway. Hard to believe but we got another FTF after this cache had been published for quite a while. The wind was howling with a growling ferocity and blowing like a gale as it had done all night. Mr M and I decided if it was too difficult that we would leave it because it seemed quite dangerous in the wind as it was blowing us off our feet. We could also see some massive roadtrains heading for us from both directions and that is never fun. As it was, the cache was not too difficult to retrieve and it was quite safe. We had a tailwind getting back to the geobus so it was a very quick return. Not bad to start Friday the 13th Smile TFTC and TFTFTF
