Currently out of reach again due to light rail construction... will keep an eye on it
4 pairs of eyes, along with phone cameras, over a substantial amount of time, but we couldn't find it. Lots of the area is cordoned off though for construction work
In the city to do a few caches before the Open Air Movies.
I have been here before and returned today with extra eyes and hands. We all failed.
My GPS had me in the corner near a garden box. Even though it had a suitable hide, there was no way this was correct.
Tried all the places that could be accessed outside the fenced area and can only wonder how good a hide it is if it is there.
I will add to my watch list and see what others and the CO has to say.

Late log. Got many to catch up at the moment. Found this one when I was up for three days in September for a work course where I stayed in ultimo. This trip was also the first time I discovered the nearby safe city cache which was amazing and worth the favourite points it's received.
The cache is currently out of reach due to the light rail works. Hopefully it will still be available when the work is done.
Wow!! How were u able to place it there!!?
It took me a while until I was able to pull it out!! Hehe
Great hide, and lots of fun (despite the spider webs!). Fav point

I walked past this one earlier in the week, after picking up a nearby mystery cache, but had already resolved never to attempt it as, due to my muggle phobia, I am not comfortable caching in such places. However, YGAT is not so afflicted and, as we were nearby for lunch, she strongly urged me to overcome my fears by attempting it.
We soon realised that the GPSr was next to useless in the cavern-like environment. We used the satellite map to determine where we should concentrate our search and it was not too long before I spotted something promising. A special tool helped to retrieve the cache.
Thanks for the challenge isolation, I think this test is an indication that YGAT’s therapy is working.

Found amid the muggles in one of my most favourite natural things. I think we got away with it. SL TFTC
Out for a day doing multis in the CBD area with Little Roo and Bryzee, we came around to do this one, too.
This cache having couple of DNF's didn't deter us. The smartiephones and GPSr were jumping and adamant we should go across the street. But relying on a map in the app led us into the right path and after a few minutes I spotted something that's been added afterwards. Tried my luck but was left empty handed. Roo got a boost and spotted something worth inspecting better. Her caching bag has a magnificent collection of handy tools and soon she was poking and pulling and managed to fish out the container! [^]
We signed the log and returned the container so that it hopefully it a lot easier to get out after a find.
All good here. TFTC, Isolation!

Down from the Central Coast on a geocaching adventure with the Little Roo and Tdimdad. This cache had us looking at several locations because the GPS and the phone were bouncing around a bit. Tdimdad spotted a possible spot and with a bit of team work and some fashioned tools we managed to get this cache in hand this was a very satisfying find indeed TFTC isolation
out geocaching with Tdimdad and Bryzee . Had a great time finding this cache TFTC
We spent quite some time in the rain with, what we thought would be the correct TOTT, but we couldn't get our eyeballs on the cache today. Tried many options as the needle was jumping around madly and was completely unreliable. Will try again when it's dryer.
I must admit that I have been out here a few times previously searching for this cache. There are just so many places to check around this spot and I think I have checked all of them. A more thorough inspection of one particular feature eventually did the trick. A very well placed cache that has baffled many I am sure. TFTC
Finally!! This cache has been driving me nuts for well over 6 months. I could see where it was but was unable to get it no matter what I used, so I spent a LOT of my lunchtimes here poking around instead of eating. Today steelpaw and I had to change trains at Central and luckily for me she suggested she should have a crack at my old nemesis "Posted". After a bit of fiddling and poking with a magic magnetic poking thing she had it!! Whew. I am very happy to get this smiley. Thanks for the challenge!!
After a super lunch at Jazushi up the road we called in here. A snogging couple on the bench made our task a bit harder but gave us the chance to check the previous logs. We narrowed our search area right down and by elimination ended up with the right structure. Then we saw the evidence of cacher interference and finally found a locally sourced, all natural TOTT with which to hoick out the cache! Hurrah. Great hide, must be entertaining at work spotting the cachers scratching their heads! TFTC.
Just too many muggle eyes. Will have to do a Sunday search on return after the renovations to the building are finished.
Ah ha! Third time lucky. Arrived with Mrs A who provided a slight diversion. Because it had turned cold we didn't have many muggles to contend with.
I have pork sausages for fingers so I had to fall back on my trusty TOT for retrieval. Signed the log and carefully hid. TFTC isolation .

#2904 (4 of 5 today) (Streak day 321)
Today was dinner with friends down in the Shire. Good food and wine - and a few caches beforehand. Wins all round.
Then afterwards I decided to go home the long way via two previous DNFs. Got both - darkness is my friend!
My roundabout way home got me to a RBT location, but as we drink early and not *too* heavily, no problems. Drink responsibly people.
All up, made five finds out of five attempts - HUZZAH!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
OK. So this one has taunted me for a while. All the previous attempts have been during the day when it was muggle city. Got here around 10pm, so not only are muggles much thinner on the ground but paid parking has ended. Double win.
I recently discussed this one with a previous finder and, after I provided details of my search, they confirmed I'd been on the right track at my last attempt.
So today, I walked there from my nearby parking place and concentrated on the spot I'd previously identified. First up I started with the TOTT I'd used last time. Still no joy. Then I employed a different TOTT and suddenly I had a result!
Finally!
Took away to a bench to complete signing duties, then back for the replace.
Glad to finally have this one converted to a smiley. Still don't know how the cunning hide managed to evade my previous attempt.
I can stop grumbling about it now.

I hadn’t planned on doing any geocaching today, as we weren’t in need of a calendar gap cache for today, but being early Easter Sunday morning I thought it was the perfect opportunity to revisit this one. So I decided to stop off on my way home, after a night shift, to see if I could avenge my DNF of some four months ago.
Parked the geomobile right alongside GZ, in Devonshire Street, and then went straight to the “structure” that I was sure this evil one was hiding in. It was 6:45 AM, and still quite dark, so I was searching by torch light. Thankfully GZ was deserted and I was able to do a thorough search without any muggle issues.
Having read through many logs I had a good idea at what level I needed to be looking, and after carefully examining the “structure” in great detail, I suddenly spotted something that would not normally be found on this type of “structure”. Aha, so that’s where you have been hiding, but it wasn’t yet CIH.
Retrieval was going to be nearly as tough as the detection process had been. Unfortunately, as I had not intended to do any caching today, I had not brought my trusty caching bag with me and therefore didn’t have any TOTT at my disposal. But luckily the geomobile has all sorts of junk in it and I was able to “manufacture” a suitable tool to help retrieve the cache container, which did a sterling job resulting with CIH. Signed the log and then replaced as found, ready for the next intrepid cacher to try their luck
Thanks isolation for this very challenging cache, worthy of more than it’s D2 rating. I'm so glad to finally be able to clear it from our DNF list. And now it's off home for some much needed sleep.

Wow! What an effort to retrieve it! After reading previous logs and knowing it was still in place I thought I'd give it a crack. The pin drop is off on my smart phone which id confirmed once I read the hint. One of the photos taken also gave me an indication of possible GZ so I enjoyed one of the nearby park benches and sussed out the scene before me. Sunday afternoon found very few muggles wandering around making it easier for me to investigate the possible hiding spot. After poking around I saw two objects in a space which made me ponder "what the hell are they doing there?". Using my phone torch I peered deeper inside to see something else that didn't make sense. Seeing a wrist band glow stick on the ground I picked it up and used it to fish out what I could see. After 5 minutes of tip toe fishing I retrieved the silver suspension bison. As soon as I had CIH I dropped it back into its home. Very interesting hide! TFTC!
Sorry I could not find this one my GPS would not settle I it the coords had me on the other side of the road. Not a good way to start the day. Next time.
Just checked on this one as a previous finder, it's still in place. I had favorited it a while ago. Oh, and visiting TB's
Returned today to make the find. I was here last October, however I couldn't attempt a find then due many muggles.
Unfortunately no luck again today. I looked with torch and felt around using a TOT (Tool of Trade) but nothing found. I even did PAF to a previous finder who confirmed I was looking in the correct place.
I am told this area is ear marked for some renovation work. I am wondering if it has been discovered during the survey work? Or maybe I'm just blind today.

Had a peek today, looks like its still in place. Try using the torch on you phone to look in the hide
Unfortunately, it's a second DNF from me, despite receiving a bit of help. Hopefully we'll be back soon and rectify this! Thanks, isolation
I've spent far too long looking for this cache over the last few months-if you can see it and/or retrieve it you're a better cacher than me! Maybe some of the cachers going to the leap year event at the Strawberry Hills might have better luck-I will, again, keep a watch on it. Good luck!!

Difficulty should be higher due to the muggle factor combined with the retrieval.

After reading logs was a bit apprehensive in doing this on the weekend. Sun 1pm I arrived few muggles but coffee shop closed. I sat, I pondered, I waited until the phone zeroed in on the target, waited 10 min and was signing log.. My pen had two uses on this occasion. Tftf
Well today we were in need of another calendar gap cache, so I thought I would stop off on my way home from work, after a night shift, to pick one up.
Parked the geomobile right alongside GZ and, being early on a Saturday morning, the area was reasonably muggle free. Looked for about 15 minutes, in all the hidey holes I could see and reach, but nothing found. Will try again another time. TFTH anyway.

aaaah purple's new nemesis cache that is near her Sydney work - we come from the north coast of nsw.
Purple has searched for this at various lunchtimes (muggles galore) and finally purple and darkness were in Sydney on a Sunday afternoon - a time I thought would be good for the search.
Well frustratingly I think we spied it but could not extract it - so this will not be the last you hear from us but today this must remain a DNF.

Just a note today:
I was in town today doing some caching. This one was just up the road from where I was visiting. Plenty of muggles, so I sat down and cogitated on this one using the clues. I became aware of where it is located but because of the high muggle count and a number of people facing me from the nearby coffee shop, I didn't want to expose the cache location. So its back another time....maybe on a Sunday? TFTC isolation.

"Hmmm. Won't be back without another find or CO action"
I'm not sure what action you would like me to take???
I have been extremely diligent with any maintenance to the cache, and the cache is still play.

In the city on this holiday Monday to attend a friend's birthday party. A good time was had by all, and while in the area I managed to snag two caches - with one DNF (again).

Back here again , but with a long thin extraction tool.
Didn't even find the bottom of the crack. Certainly didn't feel a cache of any sort.

Enjoyed trying for this one. but no luck today. However I got a kick when poking a stick into a hole and up popped a mouse to see what was going on.

Today, I was in the city for a meeting and had time in the evening to pick up a number of caches in the area I have been eyeing off for quite some time. I walked down to Surry Hills and first started at Harmony Nano. From there, I traversed my way by foot through the streets and laneways to Frog Hollow next, which I particularly enjoyed visiting because of the history of the location. I continued onto Posted, which I found okay but felt the rating should be higher than what it is listed as. I headed towards Ultimo and picked up the Safe City - Bug and Coin, which was chockablock full of trackables, so I took a seat and noted down all of the codes. On the way back towards the city, I stopped by the Quarry Street Troll @ Ultimo as my final find for the day. For all of the caches, I Signed Log and Took Nothing Left Nothing. A successful day out in terms of find rate! Thanks For The Caches to all of the respective Cache Owners.

Found with the C4 group (central coast caching community). I had been to this one before but the cache was unreachable. This time spotted the cache give away and the cache was easily grabbed TFTC
Had a tough time getting it out of its hiding spot, but when I looked down I saw nature had provided a suitable tool. Tftc!
No luck for us here today. We were in the area during lunch peak hour, which definitely made it harder for ourselves; however, as advised, nobody was paying attention! We spent a good fifteen minutes searching following the description and logs (whilst hoping the CO might make an appearance!), but weren't able to spot anything. Both of us being less than 6" doesn't help! We'll be back in a much quieter time, thanks!
While in Sydney for the day this one was next. I had been looking for a while and not having a lot of luck when I noticed someone else looking a bit sus. So I wondered over and sure enough he was a fellow Cacher. Alfieboy soon joined me and after a bit more searching and a bit of wire he had in the car we had the prize in hand. Nice hide. TFTC.
Was in the area and parked right near GZ. It was a wet and cold Sunday morning and muggles were walking around. I started looking at spots, but GPSr always wanted me on the other side of the road. After about 5 min, someone approached me and asked if I'd found it. Hey, another cacher, been a while since I've been 'busted' searching for a cache. Good to meet you Hiltonclan. We teamed up and kept searching the same spots over and over again. Then I checked something different, and sure enough saw a sign. Uh, here it is I called over. I needed to use a tool from the car and managed to extract the cache. We both SL and I replaced it again. VERY happy to find this one. Tricky. Thanx for the search Hiltonclan and thanx to isolation for the cache hide. A FAV from me.
On my third visit I tried something different, thinking it was a long shot, but I spotted something I hadn't noticed previously. It turned out to be the remains of a previous suspension system, but made me look more closely and spotted something else.
Then came the challenge of getting to the cache. I managed to 'adapt' some office tools in my pocket so after several hours, I eventually had hold of something with my fingers. It was then difficult to extract the cache without looking too suspicious, but eventually the timing was right, cache was extracted and I completed the formalities.

Far too busy for a proper look today especially if the extraction is as tricky as the logs make out.
I would never, ever have found this without help. Fortunately, whilst I was poking around here again, I ran into a former colleague (I used to work around the corner). We had a bit of a chat, he asked what I was doing, and I explained it to him. I said that I was sure that there was a cache "in there" somewhere, but I couldn't find anything. He had a quick look, reached in, and said "Is this it?" I was looking in the right spot, but was not tall enough to see the anchor point of the suspension.
Another night, another attempt and yet another failure (even with the assistance of some height-adjusting equipment). Perhaps we need to try this in daylight.
Found this one but if you are vertically challenged you may find it difficult. I am 6'2" and was on tip toes. Extraction was the hardest part. Cheers
I needed to go into the city today, so decided to grab a few caches closer in to the CBD.
Decided to target Marrickville, and so grabbed one cache there and bussed in.
Went for a previous DNF in the city, but it appeared to have been muggled. Finished off with two more caches before visiting my mother.

Came by here again after my last DNF, hopeful of a find. Took a few minutes but then I spotted something promising... But the cupboard was bare.
So another DNF here. I highly suspect it's gone, but I have been wrong before.

Got it this time, right where I thought it would be on my first visit but didn't have a proper look last week due to so many muggles. As I walked towards GZ some guy sitting in the bench seat was staring at me so I faked a phone call for a few minutes untill he walked away. Cache is very hard to see, without having a good and propper look, and even more difficult to retrieve. No way could I get it with my relative slender fingers, had to use the handle of my telescopic mirror to get it out of there.
Thanks for a challenging cache.
Thanks for a challenging cache.
I found the broken piece of string attached to a screw that others have mentioned. I was a bit discouraged after that, it was cold and getting dark, so I went home.
Checked cache today... The cache has not been muggled and is still in place. It was a little jammed, so I freed it and adjusted the suspension. A tool will definitely help with retrieval. Don't fear the muggle!

Didnt spend too much time here, I hope to have another go at it before I leave Sydney.
I think I spotted the prvious hide. Perhaps? No luck in making the find today though
Thanks, mom and dad, for my short fat fingers (as an American I have a mom, not a mum). I thought I had a proper tool along but even that didn't help. But I know where it is! I might be able to rustle up a better tool, or I might not. I'll be back if I do.
Well we found it quickly but retrieval was tricky. Found a hair clip and managed it. TFTC
Visited during my trip from Czech Republic to Moscow, Bangkok, Pattaya, Kuala Lumpur, Singapure and Sydney. TFTC !
Popped in when I had to go to work nearby on Sunday. Great hiding spot. Difficult to locate due to the number of muggles there even at a quiet day of the week. Glad we had a pen handy for catche retrieval. TFTC!
Working my way up to Sydney via Woods Point, Jamieson, Craigs Hut, Mt Howit, Wonnangatta Station and Mt Buffalo. Then into NSW via Lithgow and the Blue Mountains. As well as seeing the sights. I wanted to knock off some of the caches along the way. With a lot of rough km's ahead of me i was unable to stop for them all. But i think i found a good few in my journey. Thanks all for placing them.
First tried this cache at 2am after coming back from a party but no luck. Way too many people on the street. So this afternoon we passed by it again. Great cache. Easy to spot and very tricky to retrieve. Two sets of hands and a pen were required. But we managed to get it in the end. Thanks.

Knot 1 person looked at me. Found easy, retreval was a bit harder. I love how "weirdos" r just ignored in the chitty. Fav point i must give.
I found this a few weeks ago but with fat fingers had no chance of retrieving it. So armed with a tool I was able to work some magic and soon had CIH. Thanks for the challenge.
I have just commenced a TAFE course at Ultimo so am taking the opportunity to collect some city caches. I wandered over here after Why Alfred? and had a pretty good idea where to look. With the GPS jumping there were a few options to go with. The good thing about City caches is you can act a bit bizarre and nobody blinks an eye. I decided if anyone asked I'd claim to be undertaking a botany course and was investigating the local specimens. I watched a poor lady try and do a 24 point reverse park and eventually offered my assistance. Once she was safely in I was more easily able to approach the cache. It was a bit tricksy but my long slender fingers were all I needed despite having brought my you-beaut brand new cache extraction tool.
SL returned the cache to its hidey hole and off to class.

Streak Day #576 - Found this at 1am this morning. Turned out to be the best time to do it. TFTC
Some cachers have suggested the clue may be old or not relevant to the updated hidey hole. The old position had no clue due to the name of the cache, the current clue is 100% relevant to it's new position!

Not a happy cacher. Needed to go into the city today & there were two caches nearby for me to find. For different reasons I found neither. So no cache for me today!
After failing at the first attempt at Why Alfred?, I came here.
And it was muggle hell!
While I'm fairly certain of the method of hide, I could not confirm it as there were muggles leaning out the pub window looking in my direction, a muggle on a nearby bench was staring right where I believe GZ to be, not to mention the muggles in and at the coffee establishment facing GZ...
The cursory walk pasts I could do weren't sufficient to track down the placement - and I'd even brought an extraction tool with me.
Gave it up, and won't come back unless it's 3 in the morning when the muggle numbers may be slightly less.

Found it but was unable to retrieve it with my fat fingers. Will need to come back with an extraction tool.
Really liked this cache even though it was difficult to pull out with just my fingers. A violent squall hit just before I reached GZ so the muggles were all running to avoid being blown away and soaked to the skin not noticing a mad Englishman strolling around with a GPS! I did get very wet but worth it for an interesting cache hide-out!
I'd had a good look around GZ some months ago at the time when the furry residents had made off with the cache, and had found only a big red back spider. Nevertheless, this meant that I had a fair idea where to look when I pulled over and pretended to fix my bike for a quick minute, and I discovered the suspension system for the cache pretty quickly. I looked about and saw muggles everywhere, especially sitting in a pub straight across the road. On this Saturday evening, I decided that discretion should prevail - I didn't haul the cache out but left it for another time. I'll return.
Came by in the afternoon with Smigglepot on the way home from the city.
This one is a toughy - as another logger mentioned, made more difficult due to the title and hint.
I guess those were relevant to the original location of the hide, but no necessarily the present.
Got there in the end with me 'reeling in' the cache while Smigglepot kept a look out.
TFTC isolation.

Yes, as I have mentioned, the cache is harder to retrieve. This is a mean, hardcore city cache, not some lunch box under a tree in a park! This cache has been molested numerous times, and has had to steel itself against further attacks!
I also believe the resident that shares the caches' home may be making things harder lol
I checked the cache today, and with a jiggle and pull upwards, it is retrievable.
Cache on you limp wristed lightweights lol

Companions: None
Muggles: A few
Weather: Warm Afternoon
Cache condition: good
I attended a work function nearby, and on the way back to the office noticed that I would be passing by this location. I had a look around to make sure that no muggles were paying me any attention then went in for the search. It didn't take too long to find a likely spot containing a container - nice work! I signed the virgin log, replaced the container then headed back to work. TFTC

Ok, so I have upgraded the suspension system and the cache is back in place ready to go. The cache is harder to retrieve, so small hands, tippy toes, and maybe a pair of tweezers or a stick will help the process.
