Gorgeous! Really appreciate you setting this up- wouldnt have known about it otherwise. Many thanks
A nice quick find on a lovely walk around the sanctuary. Hand straight on it helped! Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on another North Island tour, visiting family, art galleries and caches. Today we drove and cached our way from Masterton to Wellington, under fine skies for the most part.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
This is such a lovely reserve, we have been here once before and retrieved a couple of caches, but left 2 for another day. Today was the day, for another bush walk at this Fenshaw reserve. Amazed that the track is so dry, very little boggy places, so we zoomed through the board walk to find this cache. Cache soon in hand, so I could sign away, luckily waterproof paper, and then replace as found. We do enjoy a good bush walk to hear the native birds chirping away, and being so accessible to a local town. Thanks for bringing us back here.
Long weekend away in the Wairarapa YAY.
First visit to Fenshams Reserve - what a fantastic piece of bush.
Quick find - thanks

A day in the Wairarapa today beginning in Featherston, then onto Martinborough, over to Carterton and behind then down to Greytown for the night. 18 Ad labs, 22 trads, 22 mystery and 1 multi, 4 muggled out so didn't look and only one DNF.
Have had the John Fensham reserve in my sights for a long time but never gotten around to it. Today rectified that and really enjoyed the wander around the bush.
A quick find and sign. Thanks for the cache.

While doing some geocaching out in the Wairarapa area today, I decided it would be a good idea to walk around this reserve, finding the geocaches hidden in it.
This was the fourth and final cache I found while walking around this reserve today. I followed my GPS as it narrowed down the coordinates of this cache, soon leading me to GZ. I had walked to this cache down the track from the nearby lookout where I saw rainclouds approaching. I was hoping this would be a quick find so I could still get back to my car before the weather turned too bad.
Fortunately, I managed to find this cache very quickly thanks to the really helpful clue. I soon had the cache opened and the wet logbook signed before replacing back in its hiding spot, just before an approaching muggle runner rounded the nearby corner. I then continued walking, finishing off the circuit and making it back to my car just before the drizzle started coming down.
Thanks to the CO for placing all these lovely caches around this reserve. I have never been here before and would likely have not known about this area if it weren't for geocaching. Walking around this reserve was a lovely way to finish my day of geocaching in the Wairarapa

Found on a day trip targeted at the Maths Journey series and a few other stragglers nearby that I hadn't found to date. Managed to find the Maths series at a rate of 12/hr, so it was all done in just over 1.5hrs, leaving plenty of time for the extra caches I had my eye on.

Our final cache for the day as the kids and I completed the full loop. A good hint led to the obvious location and a slightly damp log was signed. Stoked to come out and complete what was a very enjoyable walk. The kids appreciated the challenge and completed it without complaint which makes it even better! TFTC
Last one on this fun walk! Could have been a hard find but luckily spotted it straight away. TFTC
After a days caching around the Wairarapa we took an evening stroll through this lovely little reserve which without geocaching we would not have known about. We left it a little late but enjoyed the walk and the birdsong.
What a lovely Reserve, we would not have discovered this area if it was not for geocaching. Talla64 and I came here in the early evening and had a very pleasant stroll through the trees enjoying the bird calls. Thanks very much for placing a cache here.
*Catching up on some long overdue logging*A group of Wellington cachers are staying for the weekend in the Wairarapa, courtesy of Twig's Tours - A fun adventure for all!!!Saturday was spent caching around Masterton and Greytown, while Sunday we had our sights set on heading up Mt Dick and grabbing some other caches around the Carterton area. As there was a number of caches around this walk it seemed like an obvious place to go.I had a limited time to cache before needing to head back to Lower Hutt. The walk took a little longer than expected but our group made good pace. This cache was a quick find in the obvious place. Thanks for the cache.
Wow. A really obvious cache and yet - apparently well hidden. This loop was a nice way to finish our tour of the Wairarapa, many thanks to the team and to all the COs out there.
I am spending this weekend in the Wairarapa, in the company of some great caching friends. So far it's been a great weekend of relaxing, caching, drinking, and talking complete nonsense (as you do). The weather yesterday wasn't the best, but this morning we woke to glorious sunshine and an appetite to just get out there and explore!
So after having a wonderful time visiting Mt Dick, followed by a treat of delicious ice creams, we decided that an hour strolling around the Fensham Reserve would be just the ticket. We decided to take the clockwise circuit starting from the eastern entrance.
Arriving at GZ in single file, the Seagnoid made the find quickly. No issues to report here so we were soon back on our way out after sorting out the log with our names.
Thanks for placing this cache. The birdcall here today was delightful.

There are a group of 10 us over here this weekend caching around and about the Wairapara. Today was a stunning day and having driven past here yesterday and been told it was a lovely bit of bush, once we looked at the 6 green dots it became a destination for our afternoon for some of us, before heading home to Wellie. The advice was right it is truly a lovely little gem to visit. We set off at a pace to do the loop. The last of our green dots in this bush today. Easily found thanks to a suitable title! TFTC.
TFTC. Staying in an Airbnb nearby. Nice little nature reserve. Very muddy though!
Container is full of water, the track is super muddy today, found it but couldn't sign the log.
This one didn’t take the microcachers too long to locate. Such a lovely little walk, thanks for bringing us here.
The grandchildren(8 and 5) were so excited to find this after lots of complaining climbing the hill. Once found, signed they were hooked and wanted to find more.
Found with Pat n John whilst on a cycle trip on countryside roads out of Carterton. Cache I good order. TFTC
Found with livingk while on a cycle ride with a group of friends from Carterton to the Mangaterere Roadend. A wonderful reserve. TFTC
We did not get here until about 3.00pm and off we set meeting quite a few other walkers on the tracks and introducing one couple into geo caching! this was out first cache and was easily retrieved and signed and replaced. I expected the wet lands to be fairly flat and low lying so i was surprised at the height to which it rose but despite this there was still plenty of water.
We went to masterton for the day to locate the few newer caches there i did not have , plus The walk around henley lake and the fenshaw wetland bush walk all of which we did although not getting home until nearly 9,00pm after starting off at 8.00am.
we took nothing and left nothing but photos and thankfulness to be able to walk freely around this reserve,

A beautiful fine day to go for a walk in this reserve.A quick find and a good cache.Wrote the log and re-concealed carefully.TFTC!
8yr old found quickly towards end of walk. Was told about this wlak from friend who came from this area. Container very damp, but log signable. We have very much enjoyed our time out before heading home. Tftc!
#1216. The Daffodil Express steam train still ran from Wellington to Carterton today even though the Daffodil Festival was another Covid-19 casualty. So there wasn’t much happening in Carterton, but JustlookingOO drove over the hill to meet us, and we had time for a little caching.
This was #3 find for the excursion into the rural countryside. This was a little more hilly than we expected but a nice walk along the boardwalk to find the cache. It’s very wet, but w/p paper meant no problem signing the log. I might have dropped a pair of sunglasses here!
Tftc jimmac.

A day trip to the Carterton area for me - met up with RogerW1nz and GB Leader who came over from Welly on the Steam Train. Managed to squeeze in a quick spot of caching before their train headed back to Welly.
This cache surprised us, not the flat Wairapapa we were expecting (heh, heh). The hint made for a quick easy find. Cache damp so gave the waterproof log paper a wipe down before signing it. TFTC.

We made this reserve the focus of our afternoon geocaching jaunt. And glad we did as it is a little gem. Such a variety of plant life in a small area. This was our first find and it was straightforward. TFTC
Thank heavens for the hint which made for a quick find. Another great waterproof log doing its job well. Really enjoying this little-known walk so far with a great variety of fauna.
The hint mercifully made short work of find this which might have been a tad laborious otherwise! I'm impressed with the amount of work gone into the extensive stretch of board walks on this walkway. Last cache on the walk for me except for having another go at Gang Of Five before I leave. Thanks for showing me a great walk!
Thank you for bringing me to the Fensham Reserve, it was beautiful, and a place I would never have found otherwise. Cache safe and sound, although a bit fiddly to extract. TFTC
What an awesome reserve to take cachers to and better still a very smart move by the CO to place a series of geocaches within this reserve. Despite the late afternoon being overcast and a bit rainy it didn't dampen my spirits as I gladly walked the trail picking up these caches along the way. It took me just over an hour to walk through this reserve picking up the series of caches.
Just before getting to GZ I passed a muggle and his two dogs - not what I was expecting as I rounded one of the corners and a muggle runner past me too. Luckily all this muggle action took place before reaching GZ.

#5990. Been looking forward to another outing in the Wairarapa. This time I am hoping I might crack the 6000 cache find mark. This cluster of caches at Fensham Reserve has been showing up on my trips to Masterton and beyond so many times. But was trying to get bulk numbers and didn't have time for the forest walk. Today I decided it was time to do the circuit. What a surprising bush reserve. I expected it to be all podocarp and tawa but no it is much more diverse than that. A really outstanding reserve with black beech and hard beech and areas of huge tall podocarps (kahikatea, matai, miro, totara and rimu). Some ginormous trees in there. Certainly glad I wore my gumboots today. Nice quick find here and a chance for a sing song. Not quite down by the sea but the mud and pools of water were doing their best to get into the spirit of things. Signed the log and replaced exactly as found. Thanks for the cache -jimmac-.
We were enjoying our walk through the reserve so much that we accidentally walked right past GZ and had to turn around and come back up. Miss 3Prettys was the first to spot the cache, but we had to work as a team to be able to access it. We made good use of a natural tool and one of our waking sticks to move it to within our reach, then had trouble getting it open as it was so slippery from the mud. We had to sign and return quickly, as a whole family of muggles was quickly coming down the track.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
In 2009 I had to walk the full network of tracks for three caches. This time I zipped around a fraction and got five more!
