Logs
Found it after a bit of wandering. Coords were a few m off. Log book is wet and needs maintenance. Tftc
App was telling me it was 15m further down the hill then where I found it but managed to get it!

Out this way picking up something from Trade Me. Called in here for the cache. Very wet so GZ was deserted. I read the logs and could see GPS was way off. Up the bank I climbed and looked in likely spots. I soon had cache in hand. TFTC.
We are camping tonight at Tapapakanga and we have collected a number of caches during the day today. This was the first. It was a bit of challenge at GZ but after reading the logs we knew we had to be looking out a bit further. We used the 12M suggestion and up the hill. It did not take long once we got there but it was quite slippery on the leaves and pine needles
Found a while ago on our trip back from the miranda holiday park before we went into level 4 this yr just realised now that im going camping close by and looking up the local caches that i ddnt log these but we did sign the log book. Cool find, felt as though we wernt allowed there but the ranger didnt say anythng so all was good

Nice one!
Enjoyed finding this cache whilst out exploring this new area.
Got to one point and decided to see if we could get to it from there… “No” said one of our team - but one of them was so eager that they hopped the fence and ran over to GZ.
However, the two (sensible…) ones decided to enter through the correct way and after 5-10 minutes the sneaky and nicely camo’ed hide was located.
All in good condition here, thanks for maintaining.

Found whilst out with keylev, laval and NZ Travellers exploring the area.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Out for the afternoon with NZ Travellers exploring this area. All the main roadways are open so we were able to drive and park relatively close.
Completed the walk across the paddock avoiding all the gorse and trying to work out where the path actually went (being geocachers this didn’t much matter as we are well used to going the direct route!).
Scrambled down and started the search when I spotted something green aha there you are...piglets home - nicely themed!
Thanks for the cache - all good here.

After a decent amount of walking around the park I headed for this one on the way to a WP for the virtual. Nice placement here and a themed final was all good. Signed and replaced as was,
My original aims for today were quite lofty, and not really achievable but one can dream eh? I planned to get the last missing aspect of the Virtually anywhere in Auckland at Waitawa Regional Park, go up to the top of the Clevedon walkway to the lookout to complete the Adv Lab there, do the Duder Regional Park walkways and get 'all' (lol) of the Maraetai caches. Well that was a mission too far and I willingly dialled back the targets as the day progressed. As it was I managed over 20 caches and had a great day so that was awesome. Thanks to all COs for their caches.

big downhill stroll to gz. found quickly looking in several good houses first. continued downhill exploring the park. thanks for bringing us here.
No go for me today, even after looking thru previous logs saying check up the hill from GZ, still couldn't see it
Unfortunately it got late and dark as we visited, so we decided not to but we will be back!!!
Took sort of the wrong route to GZ but eventually got there. Then spent quite a while checking & eliminating various spots. Finally earned the smiley. TFTC
We visited Waitawa Regional Park today to do the tasks here for the new 'Virtually Anywhere in Auckland' virtual. Once the tasks were completed we took a short walk to check out Piglet's Home. We checked a few places before we knocked on the right door. Nice hide. TFTC.
Another cache that I happened to be at with Kiwicouple today while we were on other caching business. Had to laugh at reading Bennett's log as we know now what they were looking at when they were here in Jan. Had a little trouble with this until we read previous logs about how far away from GZ we needed to be looking. Mark came up with the goods and we were on our way. TFTC
Mrs B suggested a walk on a stunning afternoon so we decided to check out this regional park that we had never been to. We stopped at a couple of places to see where to access this one and was curious to see what the disc golf course looked like so parked by the road and took a walk around to the start of it. Having walked around a few of the holes to get to the cache we can say it looks like a very challenging course!
Took a little look around the area to find the cache but is quite easy to find once at the right spot. All good here, TFTC.

Great regional park for a combination of walking, geocaching and exploring. Found cache about 12m away from where GZ was being indicated so widen your search area if necessary. Lovely cache too. Spend some more time exploring Waitawa and then doing a couple of caches in Kawakawa Bay before having to return here on the search for my sunglasses that I had managed to lose during my morning. Very keen to back track and find as this would be the third pair I have lost while geocaching. Very relieved to find them hanging out in front of Piglets home.
Last day in New Zealand before I go back to Ireland. Glad I found this geocache before I left. Thanks for the cache!
I was in the area for the day with Jag50 and Supernanny. Part of the track here was very muddy after the recent rain so we climbed the fence to avoid it. Once at gz we spread out and after finding nothing where co-ords had us we used geosense and then made a quick find in an obvious place about 12m away from where our gps had us. Very cute cache
We were in the area with Merlot58 and Supernanny. Stunning park which we had pretty much to ourselves on this sunny winter day. Extended our search at GZ, and soon spied an obvious spot for a Piglet to call home. TFTC- I remember these containers when they were being distributed by BP.
After enjoying the Sunday morning in the local farmer market, I made my way out to Tapapakanga Regional Park for some exercise. Found on my way back home before the rain started. TFTC
What a cute and lovingly made cache! Found it almost immediately in its well hidden, but typically geocaching hiding spot. Very nicely made and well camoed. I like these kinds of caches very much, being a scenic cacher who also likes the fast success. Found together with Greenkiwikids and signed as Piraten. TFTC
Yep, worlds worst cachers right here... looked for ages but couldn't find. Read everyone's comments and GPS was not helping us either... we will try and find another day. We did have heaps of fun looking though. Thanks!
On our way to Kawakawa Bay to meet up with friends for a spot of caching and walking, we were a little early so decided to detour to grab this cache. As luck would have it we parked in the right spot and after a short walk past a couple of frisbee golf "holes" MrNZT jumped the fence and made a quick find. Enjoyed the cache container and everything was in good condition. Gorgeous Easter Sunday and the views were wonderful. Thanks for bringing us to this secret regional park! TFTC!
Found with help from others and the cache name. We had a park over spot to ourselves last night. Great views. TFTC
I made a bit of a loop, but got to GZ without having to gain too much elevation. I looked at GZ, but then spotted a place where the cache was likely hiding. I wish I had read the other logs before I went! TFTC.
Albert and I stopped in here on the way through to Kaiaua as I wanted to stretch my legs, Albert, having four legs to stretch was also keen on a walk. We had a peer at the sign on the way in and saw that dogs on a lead were welcome which is a bit of a treat for a farm park so off we went to grab a geocache.
We noticed that this area is a frisbee golf area. Man, some people have weird hobbies...
The GPSr wasn't super accurate here for some reason so had to engage the geosenses to find the cache. Saw something that fit the hint and there it was. Nice container and nice park. The views over the bay from the car were beautiful. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us to this lovely park.

8.35am - This weekend was going to be all about cache numbers.
With a semi plan made the squirrel and I hit the roads around south Auckland.
Also along the way a few puzzles that we had solved we collected.
Also one puzzle with a starting point at certain address which we have passed numerous times we thought we could wing this and find it.
Much to our delight we got it. great haul of caches this weekend ,and some very interesting locations.
A couple of misses and with some areas cordoned off we missed a couple more.
All in all a successful weekend. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... In Auckland for a weekend of caching... It's all about the numbers, baby!!!
This one gave us a lot of initial grief... We trusted our iPhones which were zeroing out much lower down the hillside from where the cache was eventually found. In between our extensive searching, Gap received a call from his daughter's partner, asking for permission to marry... That was special! This cache will definitely go down as memorable.
We eventually found the cache about 11 metres uphill. We were drawn to this higher point by a recent comment about frisbee golf. We took the TB. TFTC.

Finished an adventure race nearby, waiting for prizegiving so thought we would grab this. Jandals not the best footwear. Loved the cache. Left donkey here as it seemed a good place for a donkey to hang out. TFTC
I play discgold myself, but I also have a bad knee (still recovering from surgery), but I wanted to try this course.. after hole 4, I had basically given up - I am not a young person anymore and the steep hills here are a bit too much for me.. I had actually tee'd off on hole 5 when I saw that there was a cache here, so I doubled back a bit to find it - in good condition too.

We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Thanks for placing the cache.
We're heading to Ray's rest but have all day. Thought this was a park we hadn't visited but realised we have cached here before. A convenient place to park meant a short walk seemed a good idea. NINO TFTC
We were out with an oldies walking group , and we sneakily hoped to get 4 caches too !!!!!!
As we got close , Ric darted up the hill to Piglet's Home to do the signing while I made sure to keep our group in sight ! Thanks bach57

My GPS was a little out but checked the obvious places and soon had it. Lunch stop just around the corner. Tftc
Made this one a little harder to get to than it should have been. Didn't quite park at the horse park but a little further up the hill which at first, looked easier but it sure wasn't. Everything was easy at first until we hit a gully which looked swampy. Rather than head back and find another way over, we decided we'd just carry on and find a good place to cross. Well, it was indeed boggy and i got one very wet and muddy shoe but we were over the worst of it and just a short uphill to GZ.
We spent a couple of minutes walking around in circles trying to figure out the correct interpretation of the hint. I spotted something a few meters away from where the GPS was pointing and it was the cache nicely tucked away. Thanks for an interesting walk out to here and also TFTC!

After a bit of a pit stop mountain biking with the kids I thought I leave them resting under a tree while I walked the short distance to this cache, what I thought would be a quick cache was actually quite a steep incline up a hill from where I was. My GPS seemed to be a bit out but I soon spotted what I thought would be 'Piglet's Home', and sure enough there was the cache. Love the pot! Signed the log sheet and swapped some swag before heading back to the kids in the shade TFTC!
Out and about early this morning for a nice walk before heading off to my appointments. I have been meaning to make a return visit to this park for some time now. I have driven past on a few occasions on caching missions, but always with time up on the clock. Today I made a special effort to visit again. Nice little walk to GZ. Took a couple of minutes, but soon came up with the goods. Novel hide; I like. Dropped a TB. Cheers for the cache placement and the exercise!
Second day checking out south east Auckland...bit of hunt here, gpsr all over the place, got there in the end...TFTC
It was a bit windy when we parked at the horse float carpark but once we decended into the gully it eas a pleasant walk. Great little hide in an unusual area TFTC.
This was our second caching visit to this park and last time campers were not only allowed to continue on down to the carpark but also allowed to stay so what has changed as no vehicles over 5 m can now continue?

My route in lead me past a bit of the disc golf setup which looked interesting, but the wind today would have ruined any score.
Like others I fooled around too long at the given coordinates before looking further afield for a more likely spot. It would help to update the coordinates as determined by sp8sm8 - he knows his stuff.
Returning to the car was more direct, with a track all the way. Cheers!

Only realised I'd forgot my pen halfway from my car to the cache and winged it hoping a writing implement would be in the cache. Coordinates were a bit off but after a wander about the cache was soon spotted, and it contained a pencil inside! YES!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Heading north for Christmas and taking the scenic route and grab a few caches on the way.
Jumped on the bikes to grab this and another cache. It made things slightly quicker, thou we did bike right past this one and had to walk back up the hill to get it. GPS was putting my a fair distance out, but had a bit of a scout around for the hint item and soon located a likely posse, and came up with the goods. TFTC.

Stopped off at the top of the hill for some afternoon tea with a view. Parked in the shadow of the stables so we could go for a wander to get this one. Circled out, much more direct line back. It wasn't until we saw the second one that we figured out what the disc golf "holes" were. Must come back with some discs on a not-so windy day, and give it a go. Thanks for the cache.
Nice to explore the new park abit though it was rather muddy and wett today, neat container, TFTC.
Came in on the MTB trail but cut one corner to many and ended up a little low. As others have commented coords a little off, but knew where we might find the clue and soon spotted the hide. Averaged a new coordinate while we did the cache administration.

A new regional park to explore….. very busy today, so glad to find Piglet Home, many thanks for the cache.
Saw two new caches pop up in this park that, to be honest, I'd never heard of, so thought since it wasn't too bad a day, I'd head out and take a look. I parked by the entrance to the horse area and headed down to this cache first. I did kind of go the wrong way, following the trail markers along the top of the hill, but that left me about 50 metres above the cache so I crossed the fence in the corner and made my way down and back to the cache. I was watching the distance count down and it had gotten down to 15m when I turned around and though "that would be a perfect spot for a cache" and there it was. I won't say the coords were out by any distance because I stopped looking at the GPS when I found the cache, so it may have counted down even further, I wouldn't know.
After this cache, I continued down the hill and around, past a large group of people testing out the new frisbee golf course, and up the hill to the other new cache. And after that one, continued down to the entrance road and back up to the car. Along the way I encountered the Park Ranger who was busy planting trees beside the road - struck up a conversation about the planting work going on, and we might try and organise a tree planting CITO out this way. She was very keen for that, and perhaps an afternoon where people can come along and learn a bit about geocaching.
Anyway, an enjoyable stroll in this new park and {FTF} #1509 TFTC!!!

Came in from the Barn at the start of the horse trails and like FMZ ended up above the cache. Dopped down to GZ but after a bit of looking found its place, about 15m off but not too hard to find. Great little container. Have been waiting for this park to open. Will be back with MTBs. T4TC
