Day ten of my Three Corners tour, visiting all three of Queensland's remote western corners over 12 days. We are on the home strait now heading for home!Last night we stayed at the Noccundra pub and today we have a long drive to St George - all black top thankfully. Along the way, I managed to collect a few interesting caches including this one. A nice quick find here thanks to the clue. I did enjoy walking around the displays. Many thanks Speedmistress. Coming from Tasmania where hydro power is what runs our lives, this spot was a must visit on our itinerary today. Having made a find at another of the first hydro electric stations in the world at Duck Reach in Mr Tardis' childhood backyard (Mountain Goat's Multi GC540KE) some years ago made this a perfect partner. Thanks for bringing us here to soak up more fascinating info on the power of water.
Picked up Moosetashes yellow coin, drove away and then turned back in frustration, found in 30 secs!! Lol*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
A quick find here at the excellent facility. What an achievement by Thargomindah. The self guided tour was also excellent. We came back and had a glass of wine on the deck while watching the sunset. Left a PT. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
This is our first stop for this morning, having stayed in Thargomindah overnight. We are headed out to Camerans Corner today, though whether we get there is still a question mark. There's been unusually high rainfall lately, and the channel country, being what it is, is flooded in places. It's been interesting driving around. There are belts, or strips, more correctly, of intense green neighboring desert; flooded roads, neighboring dust storms. Sometimes, these strips are only a couple hundred meters wide. The roads are developing corrgation, and the pot holes are something you don't want to hit. So far, we've jammed brakes on for cattle, goats, kangaroos, emus, and flattened a lizard. This cache, however, was in good condition, and proved an interesting spot surrounded by yesterday's equipment. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin Towing the caravan with geodog Peppa and geocat Levin in the car. Stopped in here as we travelled through Thargomindah. A lovely hide in an interesting location. Tftc
A welcome break on my way past today. Headed to GZ and made a quick find. Log signed and all returned as found. Enjoyed the display and lunch before continuing on my journey.TFTC
13209 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 0605. Early start this morning as we need to be in Quilpie by lunch time. Cache in good condition and now ready for the next finder. SL Tnx Speedmistress. A FP from us.
Woo hoo!!! Finally made it to my first ever QOGM, was so sad to have missed the earlier ones, but this one was great! Loved the musters and the creative activities. Sadly its now time to head back home. Taking a bit of a roundabout way to pick up a couple of extra counties; Barcoo, Quilpie and Bulloo that we missed on previous travels. So glad that we have made the trip it has been such an incredible adventure, full of amazing scenery and incredible wildlife! Great to be out travelling the countryside again with GLISS! Signed as G! NRC or our individual names. Thanks to everyone who has placed caches and enabled this wonderful adventure! It will certainly be one i will remember for many years. Thanks for the cache!
Found with Nibletricecakes on the drive from Quilpie to Cunnamulla via Thargominda. TFTC
Nice quick find here. Arrived in town and off to find some acomodation for tonight. Tftc
Travelled some extra KMs to get this beauty, chasing some missing LGAs. Interesting location, thanks for bringing us out. The cache is all in good order. Snuck in just before the muggles arrived. Tftc
What a nice tidy little town. Found the cache, signed the log and replaced as found.
Thanks Speedmistress for the hide.

After the flight from birdsville this morning into Windorah, and an afternoon of driving we stopped in Thargomindah overnight. Stopped at this location first though, with the hint this was easily located!
Greyhams and I have been on a mission to see as much of Australia and visit as many of the LGA's as possible for some time now. This trip was Queensland, flying into Brisbane and a full 8 days on the road stopping for as many of the caches of interest we had time for as we passed through.
Leaving Brisbane northwest was our direction, as far west as we could go all the way to Birdsville. Of course, it is a Geocaching trip so it zigged and zagged as needed to cover the areas required. Yulaba, Charleville, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe, Longreach, Windorah, Birdsville, back to Windorah, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, St George, detour to Moonie for a FTF, Wyaga, Warick and the home run back into Brisbane for our flight home.
Love the driving as we left behind the trees and entered red earth and sparseness, always a surprise though passing through areas of yellow grassy plains, although generally open flat land in all directions was what greet us. Wildlife was in abundance and never have we seen so much. Emus dominated for 1000's of km, cattle as we passed through their grazing lands, but also pigs in numbers we didn't expect. Echidnas, goats, horses, a giant goanna, foxes, and birdlife that does well on the overnight roo casualties. Still no camels though, they have to be out there somewhere!
The country hospitality was a highlight, great friendly people, Queensland hotels full of history and character. They all were great but the Wellshot in Ilfracombe needs a huge shout out for being the stand out of this trip. Leaving the car at Windorah and flying into Birdsville not only saved a day of driving but the scenery flying low over the countryside was spectacular and memorable.
Also memorable was waking up on the second day with the best case of laryngitis I have ever experienced... no voice, none! To top it, it lasted the full trip only returning by the end, I'm not sure if I pity GreyHams for having to deal with me squeak in an attempt to talk and silenced, or he had the best trip ever!
The days were full, either full of km's or caches but never dull with so much to see or do. The caching grounds are rich thanks to the QOGM events, it's definitely a great location to hold them. Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that helped guide us as we travelled through Queensland on a great trip.

I love that these little towns get their power from water!

How to get all the counties, or councils, or "LGA's"?....... well, I have learned the hard way, albeit quickly, to do the "hardest" ones first!
We could have just driven from Canberra to Perth to get the amount of kilometres, but instead we thought we would push ourselves a bit harder, drive a bit further.....and do the south west corner of Queensland!!
It has to be said now....Queensland is a bloody large state. I mean ridiculously large! We drove east back to Brisbane for almost three full days! Yes, we stopped for a series of letterboxes, and all of the 'county' areas, and even a FTF, but it was ludicrous!
After our flight from Canberra, and collecting our rental, we head off west from Brisbane, on a mission to collect every LGA we could get.
Aquilus1 lost her voice after the first day, which made the rest of the trip much easier for me....I had to do all of the talking, and it helped I could argue both sides of every argument....and I always won!
Outback town hotels and pubs are so cool, and I love stopping at them. When I started caching I was wary as I only knew city pubs, which are very, very different.
I tried many a schnitty, and the odd steak, pizza or burger.... this truly was the outback pub tour of Queensland.
The Qantas museum was a special highlight, as I am a proper Qantas fanboy......I have done waaaay too many miles on the red roo!

Very quick find, which I am very glad about. A very long way to come. Great little town.

Annual Rogers Clan road trip throughout wherever the map takes up. Initial plan was Beaudesert, Nindigully Pub, Charlotte Plains, Bourke, Lightning Ridge, Walget, Hebel, Dirrabandi, then home. Unfortunately Bourke flooded so we ended up going Beaudesert, Nindigully Pub, Charlotte Plains, Charleville, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Yowah, Cunnamulla, Nindigully Pub home.
We didn't grab every cache, instead targeted selected ones for a reason or just to break up the drive. Thanks to QOGM there's what feels like literally millions.
The only cache in Thargomindah, it would be criminal not to try and find it. Fought a few spiderwebs but once they were cleared out, the cache was in hand.
Cache logs are either stamped, signed with Rogersclan13 or just RC13 for space. Thanks for the cache **Speedmistress**

Day trip to Thargomindah and a great day with friends and scenery, nice find at GZ.
Out on a road trip with the gang. Loved this location. We spent some time checking out all there was to see. Thank you for the experience
Day 3 of the 2022 Munna Culla Snack Ninja revival tour… Time for breakfast and a couple of caches before attending the event at the Cunnamulla Visitors Centre… now we’re gotten all the way to Thargo …
This cache was just a “maybe” for the trip, but having driven to Lake Bindegolly the decision was made to continue west to visit here too…
A decision that wasn’t regretted… an interesting spot and we spent awhile looking around, before starting back to Cunnamulla via Pelican Point….
Thanks for bringing us here… this is now my new furthest west cache…

Road trip to Thargomindah to pick up some caches we missed last year! Had a look around looked amazing can’t believe they were the third in the world to complete hydro power..Signed the log as Munna Culla Snack Ninjas.
Found with the Munna Culla Snack Ninja's on the third day of our Roadtrip from Brisbane to Cunnamulla .
Made our way back here after not quite getting everything last year.
After a catch up and cuppa at the Visitors Centre this morning we are back out on the road caching to Thargomindah and back
So glad we made the decision to drive all the way out here to pick up this cache. We may never be out this way again so definitely worth a visit to see the local sights.
Thanks for the cache

Easy little park and grab whilst on our tour through Thargomindah, great experience. The cache is in good condition, signed and replaced. Thanks Speedmistress for placing the cache.
Day 5 at Cunnamulla catching up on last years QOGM caches that we missed out on due to border lock down restrictions.
We started the day looking at the caches closest to Cunnamulla but unfortunately these involved dirt roads that were not at all friendly so we took a drive to thargomindah. We found a wide variety of cache types, 23 caches in all today with 0 DNF's. You have just got to love these types of days. The rain cleared overnight and the day was sunny with light winds. Not much seen in the variety of animals today mainly goats. emu's and lizards sunning themselves on the road and of course the birds of all sorts to keep us company.
All the caches we came across are in good condition, even the one that we found floating on top of the vegation, to our surprise the log was dry. Today hubby wore his crocs to give him access to the caches and boy did he need them.

My first ever geocache find! Had an experienced geocacher to help me. Exactly what I was hoping it would be - thank you Need more geocaches in and around Thargo!
Out for a Waltz or two in Outback Queensland.
The roads meander, we explore and enjoy
We had never thought about travelling out this far, but once we found out about the Science Loop, we were hooked and on our way.
We met Cooper the Titanosaur back up the road, a rather interesting story if you are interested in the scientific history of the Land that was.
Thargomindah, a quaint little old historical town, great to be able to see the hydroplant working, it’d be amazing if the artesian water was also used for a borebath pool here
We are travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

And my last cache on this trip, hurriedly searched for before my plane took off ahead of the approaching storm fronts. I wish I’d had more time to explore the town, but I enjoyed what I saw. Found while visiting Paroo Shire for the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster 2021, with DisSister and Dragonsky. Heading around the Natural Sciences Loop after attending QOGM in Cunnamulla. This was our second stop. We purchased the tour from the information centre and visited the old gaol and hospital as well as the hydro plant. Wow! It’s beautiful here! So much history to get into. Including the cache. Logging with DeafCat, Deafphantom and DutchAus
Adventure Way is delivering for sure, this morning saw an early start after 2021 QOGM at Cunnamulla and the beginning of a new adventure with Liz & Bruce and Wollaston heading to the SA Millicent Mega.
Today’s leg was Cunnamulla to Dig Tree with refuelling and last minute groceries and coffees at Thargomindah. We crossed countless cattle grids and floodwater dips, saw lots of cows, calves, crazy big stock yards, clocked the biggest eagle we’ve ever seen, passed a few rusty old car relics abandoned on the roadside, pulled off the road to allow others to pass on the single lane sections, and were entertained by a podcast ‘no such thing as a fish’. Of course what is a road trip without a few far flung caches ticked off along the way. An earth cache at the amazing Lake Bindegolly, Thargomindah for a trad on pioneering water and power history, Noccundra for a trad and a fantastic fresh cooked crumbed chook burger and fuel top-up, then a meandering drive through Ballera gas & oil fields for a trad at Jackson. Our good deed for the day was helping a fellow traveller limping along with a broken vintage caravan and how to get to Innamincka. No snakes, emus or kangaroos spotted out this way today, we did see quite a few lizards sunning themselves on the road, and YAY finally saw ???? CAMELS ?? ?? . Our day was finished off with a stopover at Dig Tree to tick off a very old bucket list destination and an earth cache done under the watchful eyes of turtles bobbing about nearby. At least it’s not Johnson. The Chiming sundial at the Palace usually explodes around noon. May also fall over.
Today as part of the TEAM TIP - TMZ59, Imbunda and Patrol14 we headed west to Thargomindah mainly to get a cache in Bulloo Shire and also I have never been there before.

Ventured out from Cunnamulla today to Thargo for a look around before the QOGM starts. Visited this interesting spot and found the cache quickly with the help of the hint.
what an awesome place, thankyou for adding to our adventure and adding to our amazing geocaching tales. We have travelled from SA via the outback trails and what an amazing place to travel.
TFTC checking out the history of Thargomindah, very interesting. Making our way to The Big bash at Birdsville
I have been to this hydro power station before, but when I saw there was now a cache there, a return visit was scheduled. The cache was found after a short hunt. Love Thargomindah.
We stayed the night then went to find this one. Such an interesting place. Then headed to fill with fuel. Oops it's Anzac day and petrol closed and their card machine wasn't working. Thought we were here for another night so we followed people to Anzac parade and service. Got talking to a couple of locals discovered she works at BP and it would open at 11am. Off to the next cache. F given tftcav pt
Out Quilpie for work and decided it was time for some site seeing and why not some caching as well while out in this gorgeous part of the world. So day trip it was. Great little cache.
