Hi Just-Lookin
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

All quiet at GZ, so time to have a search in likely spots. No luck, though. Recent landscaping evident. Could the CO check it out?
Thought this might be a time filler find while waiting at Adrenaline Forest.
Unfortunately coordinates took us to the middle of the turning space, and we came up short with our hunt

Stopped on our to catch the ferry. Placed a new waterproof log. Thanks for the cache.
A nice sunny evening for some caching. Have called by here once before but the area was full of people. All quiet tonight and no problem locating the right place to look. Container definitely missing a lid and and the log paper hasn't got a lot of life left in it. TFTC.
Found it! The lid is missing but the log is there, it was out in the open. It seems that it had been muggled, we placed it where we believe it was previously hidden. Lined up with GPS. Tftc.
Easy find, lid missing, log book being nibbled, in need some love. TFTC . Lovely area, tuis warbling away. Did not realise garden were open to the public, thanks!
Container is missing the lid, although previous logger has covered with a brick. I've put the log into a plastic bag, but not sure this will last too much longer.
Quick find in a beautiful spot. Cache is dry but the top is no longer on it. I wish I had an extra in my car. I put a cement block on top for a quick fix and found the top in bits a little ways from gz which I have put in the rubbish. Cache will need maintenance asap. Thanks for bringing us here.
A nice quick find in a very pretty area. There was a council worker nearby who was just leaving as I arrived, which was good timing. The cafe was closed today (I guess because of covid-19) but I had a little wander around the grounds and admired the view. The logbook is pretty damp, but still signable. TFTC
Beautiful day out around town. I remember doing the high ropes next door and being very terrified. This cache was much more peaceful to acquire. Tftc!
Found with aeshna_uk. We were only in the area because we'd noted a nearby road had the same name of a friend back in the UK so we drove over just to get photos of the road signs then noted this was nearby. Quick, easy find, log was damp but, unfortunately, I had no desiccation sachets left on me. TFTC!
Found on our Te Araroa thru-hike, day 83. We're not really sure why the trail goes through here; but it's pretty!
Tftc! Introduced working group to geocaching today by taking a lunchtime walk out to grab this. Took a few mins but got there in the end. Log has dried out.
Quick find while visiting the site to collect Mrs banian who was here for non caching activities.

Third dnf in a row! Found a possible hiding spot but there has been tree felling or cutting in the gz.
I need to locate and sign off three caches for my personal challenge today.
This one was the last. A nice old house, pity it was closed when I was here.
Cheers for the cache.

Found on a cycle ride Ngatitoa Domain, Cannons Creek, Whitby and back round the Inlet. Cold, sunny and no wind made for an enjoyable day. We have not been in to this place before and what a real gem it is. It may be even more so as the spring flowers, already in evidence, start to flower. Unfortunately the log book is sodden. TFTC
What a beautiful grand old house. I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while. Thanks for giving me the nudge to get there. Tftc!
A nice quick find. The log is very wet and mouldy. Just managed to put gf into the log.
TFTC.

Great day to enjoy a coffee and a bite eat before grabbing the cache. The views are superb, well done on getting the council to agree to allowing a cache to be placed here. TFTC
Out for an early evening walk before dinner. Had spent a great day in Wellington with our grandson doing exciting things like 'The Bugs' at Te Papa, climbing wall at shed 6, cable-car, and the inevitable ice cream from 'the 2nd best ice cream shop in New Zealand' (according to Max).
Had to go round the lawn and come back as there was a family having 'posh' photos taken and I didn't want to be in shot.
The real reason I came out this evening was to check on the availability of the caches in the area so that when Max, our grandson, comes out with me in a couple of days time I can be sure that the caches are there and there won't be any disappointments. As I'll be heading home shortly thereafter I may leave the rest of the TBs I brought with me from UK.

I didn't know this area was semi-public so thanks for the excuse to explore it a bit. I didn't want to go poking around too much in this area so I carefully considered where the cache might be hidden while taking some photos then homed in on its hiding place straight away. In, signed, out, no one got hurt.
This is the sort of cache we love - not too tricky but in a beautiful setting that we would not have visited if it wasn't for the cache. The kids were very intrigued by the high ropes course we drove by on our way out and want to come back and give it a try. Will have to look into that. Thanks Just Lookin and Princess-Emily.
After climbing the trees in the rain, and knowing a cache is so close by I had to go for a wonder and find this little gem, found pretty quick all in good order, thanks for the placement it was nice to see the lovely old house.
Scared a fair few rabbits off the lawn as we approached cache site. Thanks for the cache and another dot day gone.
This was a very interesting place to visit esp. as my husband grew up in Petone and I do remember the old Gears from our old 'engaged' days and visits to in-laws over the years. it is now the warehouse etc etc I did not find any old plan of the house or even info about the house at the site so I was pleased to read your noted about it.
Thank you for the straight forward find and another smiley face.

A quick find in a very nice garden. After I had found it I walked down the exit road and stood and watched the people in Adrenalin Forest; I was surprised how many people were already on the tricky equipment and how many were queuing at the start. Thanks for placing a cache in this area. I enjoyed a walk around the gardens and watching the Adrenalin Forest participants (I wasn't tempted to join them).
Oops got this months ago while spending a day at adrenalin forest - lovely spot TFTC
Quick find on a stroll from Redwood to Paremata. Have enjoyed some very pleasant sunny summer afternoons on the lawn here in good company (Find the recipe for hooligan soup!)
It was cool took a while but foubd it in the end. Now that i think of it. It was pretty easy!
Happy to be visiting this historic site.
Find was straightforward, cache all in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Despite attending Aotea College for five years I've only ever been here once before, but even then it was recognisable for me as I always enjoyed Bad Taste.
No problems finding the cache. TFTC

An amazing location, was never aware all this was here - thanks for the history lesson and for bring me here. #7881
#836. What a spectacular property. Fabulous old style house and great grounds. Must look up internet to find out a bit more about it and bring the family back here some stage. Didn't even know this place existed. Well worth the visit to see it. The cache was quickly found and a bonus trackable as well. Couldn't swap the one I have with me as its too large for this container. TFTC
Nice a quiet here this afternoon. Been a few years since I visited this spot. TFTC
Wow, beautiful homestead, lovely grounds and some impressive views, no wonder this is a popular place for weddings. Thanks for showing us the Gear Homestead, TFTC.
#1603 What an amazing place! Wish I had brought my big camera today. I'll have to return and get some shots. Nice easy cache and a photo stop before I was on my way again. Looking forward to a return visit. Thanks for bringing me here!
Took time off from watching daughter perform on the high wire at Adrenalin Forest, nice quick find with not as sole around. TFTC.
This was such a good reason to visit this place. It has been a long time since I came here and I had forgotten how beautiful it was. Loved the old fence. The flowers are looking good too. TFTC.
What a neat place this is.
Quick find to locate cache bu then took the opportunity to take some really great photos with the old wagon wheels and fences while we were here today.

I have lived in Wellington all my life but have never been here before Lovely peaceful area Quiickly located cache I had the place to myself this afternoon TFTC
There are approximately 100 Geocaches that I have found over the last month or so and have not found time to log, so I do honestly and sincerely appologize for the lack of originality in my log for this cache, as it will be the same as several others, I am just trying to keep my page up-to-date with my real-time caches (I'm logging my caches on the date-of-find, nonetheless), and since it was found so long ago I don't remember it clearly enough to write anything specific about it. [Log written on the 13/12]. Thanks very muchly for the cache!
Nice easy find today while in the area for the CITO event. Fourth Just-Lookin cache in a row and definitely my favourite so far. My next available FP is heading your way!
I've been wanting to come and take a look at Gear Homestead since going to see "Bad Taste" in 1988 just after it was released. For those of you who haven't seen the movie I highly recommend you do as it has reached a "Cult Classic" status and I still personally believe it is one of the greatest Kiwi movies ever made. It proves how far ahead of his time Peter Jackson was at that stage of his career, long before becoming the international super star he is today.
Until I read this cache page I never knew it was open to the public so thank you so much Just-Lookin, you have really made my day. Great piece of history too, a very interesting read. SLTFTC

Have been to a number of functions nearby! And have always enjoyed the Gear Potters open days. TFTC

Travelled back in time for stop No 2 on yet another perfect Sunday geo-outing with JardisLikeTardis.
Loved the history before us and was keen to explore further but we were due at the International Earthcache Day event nearby.
Well worth a favourite point ... TFTC
