Nice, easy find, tfth! We were a bit worried it may have been muggled with all the roadworks lately, but it's safe and secure.
Today I am making my way from Wanganui back to Wellington at the end of a weekend, and gathering some geocaches along the way. Some for a specific reason, and some just because. This was one of them.
A slight deviation from my usual path today as one of the specific caches I want is out in this direction. As I have plenty of time today I decided to gather up most of the other ones I passed along the way.
A nice short stop here, easy parking. Quite a bit more traffic than I expected, from all directions, but no one took any notice of me. Cache was found without any trouble. Safe and dry, TFTC.

We did a few circuits of the area before our gps settle enough to find a likely spot. Cache all good here. TFTC
Last one here for us before we head down to bulls for one final geocache for the day. This cache marks my 365th for the year but my actual goal is 366 even though it’s not even a leap year haha. GPS was all over the show here but found it at a likely spot. Love the smell of aniseed…..
Lovely smells! Had to move some rubbish but cache is all good. Heaps of parking. Nice to be safely away from traffic. This marks my 200th find! So i achieved my goal for the weekend. Tftc
A day trip to Nanas house. For the school holidays. While out and about and no rain thought it would be good to get a cache or two.
The gps was a bit jumpy but after some wet feet the cache was in hand. Very wet, with several cm of water in it. Dried everything off and put back in its aromatic spot

A quick and easy find once my phone made up its mind. As mentioned the log is quite damp but we didn’t have a replacement unfortunately.

Attended the Fielding event yesterday evening and today headed for Halcombe to collect some caches. Quick stop and grab. Very appropriate hint. Thanks
Heading elsewhere but with an eye on caches such as this. These that contribute to the 360 from home towards the All Around Cacher badge award. This cache fulfils a find in the 332°-333° segment.

Found on a club cycle ride - Marton, Lees Reserve for morning coffee, Sanson, Bulls for lunch and back to the accommodation. A strong northerly but otherwise a great day. TFTC
Thanks for this cache, great to visit this area whilst out and about enjoying the Manawatu. Quickly found by hubby. Cache damp but signed & returned as found.
Found on my trip north enjoying the caches. On and off rain all day so not getting all of the caches. Aiming for a certain total then stopping for the day. Nearing the end of my trip now.
Found 7.45pm
Day one of our Manawatu Road Trip.
Decided to aim for caches we had missed on our last 2 trips.
Caches spread over a large area but managed to get most of our target.
Sorry but as our cache collect was big, paste and copy had to be our option.
Thanks to the CO's for all these cache placements. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), and Mr Davidson (Davidson clan)... The weather was much improved, and it looked like we were heading for a cracker day. Our cache planning took on a bit of form as we spied a rather large 'S.H.I.E.L.D' on the horizon... We decided to skirt around the geoart today, and visit any hides still on the geomap. All logs were signed with our first name initial - BGH...
As time was getting away on us, we turned our attention to finding lodgings for the night. Since Marton was our closest option, we turned in that direction. Do we have time for a few more caches? This roadside stop should take a couple of minutes. A quick find among the fennel. TFTC.

Day 2 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. Flew up from Invercargill to Wellington yesterday and will end the day in Wanganui.
The local CANZ cache is now off my to do list so time for the last leg for today. My cheap rental hadn't as much get up and go as my usual car, and with a few cars behind me decided here was a good spot to pull up and let them past.
Signed the new logbook placed a few finds ago. Decided this wasn't a throw-down (I avoid them) as the previous logbook, in its dry but distressed state was in the new container.
Thanks for the smilie 4Tees.

#10,112. Park and grab in Halcombe. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache lid was broken and the contents quite damp inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Managed to stick the lid back, but it can probably do with a replacement.
Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to the site, and …

Stopped by for a quick park and grab on way home to Rotorua. Kids watched a calf being born in paddock across the road a bit early for a calf I thought oh well.

#4644. I had been planning on doing a big day out caching in the Manawatu for some months. On Tuesday the forecast for Friday/Saturday looked great and even on Wed it was still OK but by Friday I discovered you can't trust the Metservice to identify a rain band. Horribly wrong forecast with rain falling most of the day. Needed gumboots on all day long. By now I had booked a motel in Palmerston North so too late to turn back. Got rather wet getting in and out of the car to grab these caches with steady showers of rain. In the end I managed a respectable total of 65 caches. Raced over for a quick find. Bug caused a double take. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the cache 4Tees.
Stopped off on my way to Lake Wiritoa for a kayak race.
A quick stop and find.
Nice hide.
Thanks.

On a weekend mission with Cats&Dragons, for a bit of a numbers run along the new trails around the Northern Manawatu area, and anything else along the way. As usual these types of trips mean maximizing caching time and minimizing sleep time. So with a 2am start time Saturday morning we left home and headed South, and not getting back home til 8.30pm Sunday night. Some numbers for the trip as I know we all like caching stats are:
* 1450km traveled.
* 286 caches found (192 on Saturday, 94 on Sunday) with only 3 DNF's
* 4 hours sleep
* With a 3 hour each way drive to the Caching area, so about 32 hours of caching in the 42 hours we were away at an average of nearly 9 caches per hour, this isn't including stopping for fuel and coffee!!!
So a huge thanks to all the CO's for the placements, and for the reason to see some more of our wonderful country, we saw some pretty amazing places. Sorry for the copy and paste logs. We signed the log books HKCD, or HKCBC&D.

How do you take 4 hours to get to a place that a local has told us should only take about 10minutes.
Thats easy, when your out searching for flashy motor cars, along farming country roads while completing not a power trail,but as I would have called it a TributeTrail to David Bowie.
This was great way to see the area.
Thanks for placing this cache 4Tees

A nice reason for a short trip to Manawatu County from Marton. However, since I rode my bike, the fierce winds were quite taxing on my way back.
The travelling fox is exhausted, but satisfied. =~_~=

I had parked the caravan up in Marton and travelled over to North Fielding to pick up as many caches as I could.

On my way to Palmy North and thought I would grab some drive bys on the way. Decided to take a small detour to do this road circuit and pick up the small power trails here. Thanks.
It turned out to be bigger than I thought - in fact giant! Traffic certainly motors fast past here. tft- interesting-c.

#1856 As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

Cache # 2,993 - part of a massive 13-hour day, doing a blitz around Palmerston North wider area with team WITT (Wandering Dragons, Infoferret, Taybee and TaybeeNZ), ultimately resulting in 160 caches for me. The KAS trail was the heart of this effort, but we continued on past that to a number of points further north in Halcombe and Feilding to get our numbers up. TNLNSL. TFTC!

So down the back roads. Thanks for the cache!

This was our second find of the day. Hadn't had a chance to update the GPS so we were using the phone today, bit dodgy gps and a terrible screen to look at on such a bright sunny day, so at first we looked in slightly the wrong place. Pinpointed it eventually and made the find easily. I like the camo, thanks for the cache!
