Well August has come around once again, that means off on a camping trip chasing Yellow Faces ??. Lucky enough to find several ?? but have encountered a couple Blue Faces ??.Either way the experience has been rewarding due to the Geocache locations and the beautiful Late Winter days in the high teens. Many thanks go out to all the COs and the maintenance crews around the remote and country regions that make travelling more enjoyable.TFTC
Both logsheets are very wet, the cache container has a split in it.I'm sorry I could not replace as I used up my last emergency container yesterday.
I won't be repairing or replacing.I'll collect the container when next passing by...
Today we targeted the boat geoart plus any other caches we came across. This is the one piece that was around when we last visited but we ran out of time to grab it.All caches were found today, in some cases two were found in the same location. Apologies to the CO's for the cut and paste logs. If there were any notations, we will mention them. tftc#7447

More of our annual birthday caching trip, Purrfect Di, Mattycat and Jack too coming along for the ride...
This year we've cleaned out Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park and then some surrounds. Something I started back on new year's eve 2012/2013 with two of my sons!
Now we're expanding across some of the peninsula's foot. While also sightseeing and relaxing a little too!
The weather has been quite mild for January, only one snake sighting, some emus, a roo, foxes, bunnies, and two bulls on the roads! All making for a fun trip.
And... we found your caches. Signed the logs. Made the smileys on the map .
A nice monumental rock, but not much school left!
Heathen children and "coasty" sheep... an entertaining article indeed!!
Much thanks to Hurtle for planning and maintaining this cache on our ever growing SA cache map!
---
Travelling all over wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Heaps of the luck stuff really !!!
*Most of the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course*.**
---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]

Very wet looking day but there are caches out there. So jackets and beanies on we started to do the south west of Yorke Penninsula. Tftc.
What an epic journey we have had, just returned home from the holiday of a life time, we managed to catch up with PP2 for some caching at times, oh the memories and laughter!! Now it's time to catch up with the logging, thank you to every CO who has placed caches for us to find along the way TFTC
Stepped back when the cache guardian appeared. We are pretty sure it's a skink but we only saw its head. Seems to have made himself at home anyway. TFTC Hurtle
Was in the area mainly for the geoart but wasn't going to go past this cache without having a look for it.

Have had a fantastic week exploring the YP with the help of geocaching. This hobby is more than finding a piece of paper, it’s discovering places you would normally pass by without a second thought.

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Having a holiday on YP and catching up with relatives we looked out on a very threatening sky and some drizzle.
Sal decided she was going to stay in, stay warm and give caching a miss. [8)] Being a tragic I headed out anyway looking to make my way around the coast from Point Turton finding any I hadn't previously.
I wanted to avoid too many geoart because I just knew I would be back doing them later.
Wow, not much left of the school today. Lucky there is a plaque and cache to know it was even here. I quick find for me today in the drizzle.

Day 202 (Wednesday 18th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Warooka today. A total of 1 for the day and 4605 for the trip. TFTC
This was the start point of the " geo art ". Also one of the few trads found today. I think i am more surprised this spot didn't get sucked in to the vortex of the fishy tales puzzles. quick find.
All logs today were stamped as " Mystery Randoms ". The team was sir_spectre, mogni, allister w, Aussie M & M, JJ52 and Gizmo Gang. We did the whole geo art in the one day finishing the last 11 under torch light.
This was mogni's last calendar day to fill with 10 in every day. Since it was the 29 th of feb she wanted at least 100 cache finds for the day. We worked out that the geo art was a good choice. She wanted to do 100 caches and maybe some more. I thought all 588 caches was a better idea ( all the geo art ). I recruited some people. I talked to the fishy tales group and got permission to pick up all the caches and replace them. They gave me 300 new caches and enough new logs for the whole trail. Also strict instructions to pick up all the mint tins on the trail so freddo could recycle them. We found 61 of which 49 could be recycled. We ended up using all the given containers plus more and CITOed 4 milk crates worth of old/broken/brittle containers. Over 600 cache finds for the day. With 3 weeks to the 29th mogni decided to expand what she wanted. She wanted as many cache types on that day as well. We got a multi, puzzle, trad, earthcache, event, wherigo, virtual. We started in the dark and also did the last 11 caches of the geo art in the dark, it was a big day.

A big leap day with the Mystery Randoms. Sir Spectre, mogni, JJ52, AussieM&M, GizmozGang and I had a big day from a event in Adelaide to finding all the geoart at the bottom of Yorke Peninsula. We were tired by the end of the day. This one was found along the way. TFTC
Mrs Gizmo was invited to join mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, Aussie M & M and JJ52 for a big day starting with an early morning event, then some different cache types in the city before hitting the road to the Yorke Peninsula to complete the geo art.
We stopped for this cache before starting the boar geo art. A quick find and we were off.

A huge day out with Aussie M & M, gizmos gang, JJ52, sir_spectre and AllisterW. We had a mission to complete all of the geo art on the base of Yorke Penninsula and complete it we did. In the process all caches that needed some love were fixed and all mint tins spotted removed.

A big day was planned for "Leap Day" with mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, Aussie M & M and Gizmo's Gang heading down to the bottom of Yorke Peninsula to complete the geo art and find as many different cache types as we could as this opportunity only comes around once every four years.
We had a fun day/weekend and achieved all our goals, starting with a very early event, then some different cache types before we left the city for the drive down to Warooka where we started in earnest.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
After veging out (non caching) at Daly Heads for three nights, it was time to move on and find some caches, if we are reach #5000 at Millicent.
Camped in Warooka, and doing a few caches nearby. Lovely drive through the farms and past the ocean.
Found on our way home...Thanks Hurtle

Spending 2 nights in Point Turton we came to do some geocaching! Great to find this cache highlighting the history of the area. Cache was found in good condition.
A nice change to find a cache that wasn't broken or just a log in a plastic bag under a rock, the geo art is certainly in poor condition, a straight forward find with some history, left a TB

After the disappointment of the shark geoart we were so glad to find and sign a cache today. All in good condition. Thanks for the history too. Tftc
Today was a day to tidy up some unfinished business from our visit a couple of years ago. We aimed to finish off some incomplete geo art with the ship feature and the starfish art both needing attention.
We also wanted to add some more T.O.Y. series caches to our score, as we really enjoy finding so many large size caches.
There were also a few other traditional caches to add to the list. Ilook4geo also helped in the quest.
It was great with the day starting out a lot cooler than yesterday's heatwave conditions and the number of successful finds made the day well worthwhile.
Thanks go to Hurtle for this cache placement.

It was time for goingplaces2 to do some catch up caching, so we went together to complete some geo art shapes from when they were here before. Also did some other caches around the area as well. Thanks to each CO for all our finds.
Found with dty73 and youban on our Yorke Peninsula invasion! All logs signed DTY (dty73/Tankengine/youban). Thanks for the cache!
On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. This is the day we are planning a start on the Geoart and some of the traditional caches. The ship is the first one we will attack. This is a generic log so we added any information relevant to this cache at the end. Thanks to Fishy Tales and all the other cache owners. Kutgw
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Admittedly we came for the power trails to make up some of our statistics, but we also wanted to check out some of the traditionals as well. This was obviously one of those we wanted to pick up.
A straightforward find here. Tftc Hurtle!!!

Today is our thid day staying at Point Turton and exploring this lovely part of the world. We have never visited the Yorke Peninsular before, and we really wonder why not. It’s so beautiful, with a mix of beach, crop farming, paddock grazing animals and natural countryside. The Yorke Peninsular has certainly turned on the weather for us. Shorts, tshirts and thongs when we’re not chasing the dreaded micro in 5h3 bushes.
Yesterday we started on the geo art trails, and today we are continuing that, but mixing it up with random caches spread across the countryside. The geo art gives us the numbers, but the random caches take us to some lovely out of the way spots. A great combination of the reasons we love caching.
Thanks to all the CO’s in the area for all the caches they have developed, put out and maintain for us to find. A mammoth job, well done. We appreciate your efforts.

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.
My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience.

After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.
We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days !
Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process .
After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!
The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!
Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.
We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.
Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.
Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.
As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.
We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.
Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!
Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!
Cheers

Cheers

Day 1 of our Yorke Peninsula collected. Collected the Boat and Fishy Tales artwork as well as a few other caches along the way. A very busy and fun day was had by all. Caches stamped with "SWAG-JJ" being the acronym of the cachers in our team. TFTC!
Travelling down from Queensland with my fellow cachers Snickersallan, Waz and Vik, Ardom, Gcoven and JooJoo57. We have planned a week long adventure to collect all the geoart, the fishing line and anything else we can get. Thanks for the cache!
Day 1: Today we completed the Boat and Fishy Tales and some of the fishing line and traditional. We took some time and found a few previous finders DNF’s, also located two GZ that had two caches so we took the spare and replaced a couple where we also had DNF’s with previous finders DNF’s too. We are well and truly stuffed and will sleep so well tonight. Planned out assault for tomorrow where hopefully we will finish the art

I LOVE the links you have provided on your description page! Very interesting!! A fav point from me.
ALWAY love finding a quick park and grab cache in an interesting location to break up the journey and stretch the legs. Found with the lovely feathertop whilst on a caching frenzy of the Yorke (geo-art and Gone Fishin powertrails).
Thanks so much for the cache Hurtle!

A perfect Spring day for more of the Yorke geoart trails with Tassie Trekkers.
Hardly any muggles around on these roads, and mostly good quick finds.

Day 5 and off to catch the big bad fish , a few broken caches with some missing logs. Replace what I could. Tftc sl tnln.
Day 2 of our mammoth week begun with a very early start to try and grab some caches before the Anzac Dawn Service in Warooka . We were in full geocaching beast mode today and signing cache logs like they were in short supply [^].
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to postiegirl06 for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Para Wurlie School today. This is my find #6648 and find #20 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again postiegirl06 for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today we had busy day with these puzzle caches. We got all but one of them logged.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland!

Visiting SA for a week before going to Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs. Out with joojoo57 and Snickersallan doing caches on Yorke Peninsula then back towards Adelaide. Thanks to all COs for your cache hides.
Before attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs we're spending 5 days in SA mainly around the Yorke Peninsular. Appreciated the variety of containers and places they were hidden - it certainly brought us to places we certainly wouldn't have stopped at. many thanks to all the COs for your time and effort in the placement of your caches.
Found on a great weekend at the bottom end. Interesting location and fun to find. Thank you.
An interesting as to how we came to find this cache, but will leave that to another time!
Love the history that I would otherwise drive by, TFTC

Appreciate the traditional approach and less 'snakes' location. These little schools were scattered right across the peninsula, really love coming across these sites. TFTC
I'm enjoying the YP scenery from the comfort of the push bike today
The olde skool was a good spot to take a break from the riding and have a bite to eat,
and a drink while finding the cache
The flies didn't get too much of me lunch
TFTC and another olde skool site !!

Yorke Peninsula 2016. This weekend I joined Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Luckyl10n for a six day trip to the South Australian Yorke Peninsula to get all of the geo art puzzles at the southern tip area. We had a great weekend and apart from about five DNFs were overall very successful. The trip started on Wednesday after work when Fitzy and I jumped in the car and drove to Narrandera for the night. The next day was a long day of driving to Adelaide via Balranald, Murrayville, Pinneroo and Tailem Bend. On Friday Fitzy and I went to Adelaide airport to collect Sol de Lune and Luckyl10n before heading to Port Wakefield and down the Peninsula to get started on the art. Thee days of art later we were all done by lunchtime on Sunday so went looking for another few short series near Port Wakefield. The trip ended with a two day drive home with all four of us via Mildura and Balranald. A fantastic weekend and I cannot wait till we can do another trip !
Thanks.
