What are the chances the last person here before me was my mugglemum. Muggle husband and I are camping near for the long weekend and popped out for a hit of exploring. Answers sent, TFTC.
Thanks for bringing us here. Awesome view. Thanks Net88 for the cache and interesting area.
Found on the first day of a 3 day trip to Stanthorpe. A bit gloomy and rainy but still some lovely views. Enjoyed a walk around before answering the questions.
Headed south to Stanthorpe today for a spot of caching. Originally, I had planned to attend the Mega Event that was held here 10 years ago, but due to life inspired hurdles, had to cancel at the last moment. So a lot of mystery caches I had solved back then needed finding today. Awesome spot and views from the lookout were great. Thanks for broadening my geological knowledge. TFTearthC. Answers sent to CO. TBs Prado Owl ; The Great Leap Forward Geocoin ; Bee Croc ; Rawhide ; RobS72 2000 Finds GC ; Forest Hill Ear Tag ; Iceland Geocoin ; and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 2263.
This was a great location on its own, but the Earthcache gave us reason to linger longer and enjoy the view more. As usual when we come across granite we think of benchtops as we have granite benchtops at home. not the same as this granite though! We made out observations and had the usual discussions before finalizing our answers.Answers sent.Another very cool day today, but the sun was out much earlier and at least the day seemed brighter even if the temperature wasn't.We decided to have a quieter day so the emphasis was on the Lab in town and some sightseeing and whatever caches that took us near.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Net88.**SKI Pair****

We called in here a few years ago. We forgot what a great spot this is. Timed it right this morning to be here. You can see for miles today. Thanks for bringing us here. Sent photo and answers to C.O. tftc An AFP from us.
Enjoying a weekend in Stanthorpe with legend and out looking for a few caches while we are here. Found some new geocaching friends, snigglepops.
First visit here was September 10th but I have been up several times since to appreciate the most spectacular sunsets!TFTC ...
Found with Chrisval7. What a fantastic spot overlooking the countryside. Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed visiting this earthcache. It was a highlight of the area. Without the caches/S here we would not have visited, so thank you!
On a windy Sunday afternoon, why yo o but go out and do an Earthcache!

We had the opportunity to spend Easter in Stanthorpe so took advantage of the days off to find some caches while we were here. Great view from here. Answers have been sent to CO.
After a hike in Girraween NP, there were still a few caches to collect. Nice views from up here, answers sent. Tftc Net88
This weekend, an overnighter at Girraween National Park was planned with the aim to tackle Mount Norman. An early start on Saturday had me attend Warwick parkrun and visit Warwick, Leslie Dam, Stanthorpe, and then Girraweeen to walk to Underground Creek. On Sunday, it was a walk/hike through Girraween's south vicinity visiting Mount Norman, Castle Rock, and Turtle Rock, before venturing across the NSW border, and then heading northwards via Ballandean and Stanthorpe, detouring past the *Elementary* series and *Stan's Apple* series.
Today, my plan was starting out the day with Warwick parkrun at 07:00 hr, and subsequent geocaching within the Warwick area. I also visited Leslie Dam which was a nice picnic spot, before then detouring back through Warwick for a late breakfast, and continued my onwards journey south along the New England Highway to Stanthorpe. I found a few of the *Snow Flakes* granite geocaches, partially conducted the *Fruit Run*, drove east past Stanthorpe Airport finding some of the *Stan's Apple* geoart, before then visiting Mt Marley and Quart Pot Creek. We then took a late afternoon walk in Girraween National Park to Underground Creek, before establishing our campsite for the night.
There were some great views from this lookout, and I got to appreciate the cute township of Stanthorpe from here. The landscape continued to be shaped by granite, and this EarthCache provided a good overview of its composition. Answers collected and sent to the CO for verification. Thanks Net88 for the EarthCache placement and maintenance.

We are heading south from Brisbane in 2023 and picking up as many new LGA’s as we can.
Cracker of a view!!
What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.
Net88, I found Stanthorpe Rocks! today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Great lookout that we wouldn’t have gone to if not for the geocaches - both the earth cache and the old cache from 2008 nearby. And now I’m on 592 finds! Need to convince hubby to let me find 8 more caches today (unlikely).
He did put the binoculars on two spots he thought I’d like to look at - the thermometer in town & the Anglican Church sign that reads “Jesus is the Gift You Won’t Return”.

Chasing some attributes for the November challenge, so we started road tripping. Drove past what felt like thousands, just to chase certain caches for the Off Road Attribute.
Awesome lookout! Very cool views, not sure about the binocculars being powerful enough to look into peoples backyards but it was cool to be up so high. There was a mountain bike race of event on, so there were a lot of people of varying ages riding or pushing bikes up the hill, that's dedication!
Thanks for the cache **Net88**

During our recent stay in Stanthorpe, we visited this lookout and worked on the answers for the earth cache. Our answers were sent to CO.
It was a nice spot, and we enjoyed also our brekkie high up there. We had to defend our sandwich against couple of birds, but they weren't able to get it off us.

Albert (full name: Alberto Malich the Wise) is Death's servant. He has been living in Death's Domain for the last two thousand years, but because time does not progress there, he has not aged. Alberto Malich was once a seriously powerful wizard and founded Unseen University in Ankh-Morpork.
The final day of PirateLinda’s and my Stanthorpe weekend away… After the delightful event last night, we caught up with Beardman75 and Captain Vimes for breakfast… some possible caches for the morning turned into a plan and we were off with Beardman75 at the wheel, Captain Vimes up front, and PirateLinda and I fighting over the armrest in the back…
I normally avoid Earthcaches… but groups make everything more entertaining…
Tftc… Captain Vimes submitted our answers… normally too…

We where up early and the cloud cover made for a spectacular photo.
We decided to come back and watch the fireworks later at night from here.

Heading down to Stanthorpe to the markets - just in case we needed to spend more money this side of christmas. Took the old highway through the villages, buying cherries, apricots and apples. As you do. Caching along the fruit run. As you do. After lunch in the park, we headed up this steep hill. Did I say steep? glad we were not walking.

Took today off work because it's my birthday and I didn't want to work on my birthday. Was hoping to see some snow today, but not quite cold enough. If it snows over the weekend I might head back down. Great lookout. Will send answers when I get home tonight.
Heading to Stanthorpe for caching. Took two extra days of. Yippee. Now day two.
One of my main things today was trying to complete the Unique Difficulty/Terrain Challenge. Of course one was for my next D/T loop, still one to go on my 5th loop.
The funny thing is I did try to keep records of what I did today, so hard doing by yourself.
As I log everything hopefully everything works out and I kept good records.
Todays haul 43 and the breakdown is 5 traditional, 33 mystery, 3 Earthcache and 2 Letterbox. Lots of fun finding caches or learning stuff about the local area.
Thank you CO for bringing me to outback Queensland.
Sorry for the generic log

While spending Easter in this area, I had a day of caching including visiting this lookout and learning about the local granite. Found the nearby trad and tb visits too. Answers sent to CO. Thanks for the EarthCache.
We're currently staying at Tenterfield and I had to go to Stanthorpe this morning to run an errand. I could have spent all day here, there's so many caches on offer, but I satisfied myself with this just one as I figured the view would be worth it. And I wasn't disappointed, the view from the lookout is wonderful.
After gazing out across the valley for quite a while, I then took some photos and notes of the granite covered hill so that I can compile my answers to the questions posed by the CO, which I've now done.
Thanks very much for providing me with a reason to detour up the hill Net88.

We decided on the way into town that we would walk up here in the morning, its funny that I just saw two caches up top on the map and saw a walking track so decided that but didn't actually notice the road on the map at all and was a little embarrassed to discover it after the walk. Still, just a quick climb, nothing tricky, though last nights beers surely haven't helped things.
Great view from the top, and some great information in this listing to ruminate over as we played with the telescopes. We came up with some likely answers before retreating back into the shade to find the other cache up here.
Thanks go to net88 for the information here and helping me explore all the cool granite up this hill. Well worth the walk, I reckon the sunsets up here would be *chefs kiss*

Found while on a weekend mission with Chamad, Willis007 and Nayfee. We came to get the Stanthorpe Apple, but couldn't drive past any of the others. We were there to flood our maps with smilies. The boulders in this whole area are amazing pieces of nature's art.
What a lovely view from up here! A weekend trip to Stanthorpe wouldn't be complete without heading up here. Must admit I was thankful we could drive rather than hike up that hill. A great spot for a quick bite to eat, rehydrate, and plan the next few caches.

Out today for a quick drive to Stanthorpe for a couple of particular caches to finish off my 4th loop and grab a couple to get me closer to my 5th loop.
It was just a quick trip into the area today as I had to be in Ballina by 4pm, plus I could not wait till next year to finish my loop, lol.
Today I grabbed a few puzzle caches, a couple of trads, a couple of earth caches, a letterbox and a couple of challenge caches. It was a nice drive down at this time of the morning with no one on the roads, gave a good chance to stop and do some sight seeing along the way too.
This was one of those I found today. What a great place to visit and the views were great today. I made good use of the free telescopes and got a good look at the town, got to come back here. The questions and answers have been sent to the CO, thanks for bringing me up here.
Thanks the placement and with the log signed and cache replaced as best as I could, I was on my way to my next target.

Out caching with friends No_Tomorrow and Seemyshell, trying to complete the Apple GeoArt in Stanthorpe. Took a break from the puzzle caches to grab this Earthcache. Out caching with MattyRx and NoTomorrow, we had started these puzzles about a week ago. Some were very challenging. This Apple had some good DT ratings and filled some good gaps.
All caches were found in good order with dry log books. Although a few took some extra time.
Cheers to the COs.
We will be back to complete the series.

Mrs Woodyrothwell and I have a love/hate relationship with EarthCaches. When the subject is interesting it’s All G, but when you need a science degree or rocks are involved then divorce proceedings are just round the corners and the lawyers start circling like vultures.
This one was just a little bit different because we drove up near sunset and underestimated how bright things would be. We needed something to distract ourselves from thinking about our burning retinas.
In fact Mrs Woodyrothwell was surprised this was the only EarthCache we did in town after seeing granite on every corner. She feared we would be doing hundreds of them. Answers emailed. tftc

Reaching the top of our walk we enjoyed the view over the town, what a magical spot. We looked around and snapped some pictures before taking in all the details we needed to answer the questions.
We were up there for around 30 minutes, the whole time someone was in a ute and he kept his motor running the entire time, when we left he was still there but never got out to look at the view. Maybe he was keeping warm unlike us wet, cold, soggy buggers.

Heading south to find a few caches and earn the Old Year and New Year souvenirs. We managed to dodge the nasty storm cells that passed through the region and I found a number of caches on my 'to do' list.

Found 9 November 2017 at 4:07 pm We have travelled up from down near Canberra to see hubz' terminal sister in Bundaberg. We stayed in Stanthorpe a couple of days to collect many of the caches. What a beautiful location. If it wasn't for geocaching I would have missed out on coming here, and especially learning about this feature. I love Earth Caches, we have many new ones down home of which I am yet to complete, all much to do with volcanic activity. Thanks for bringing me here. Today is our rest day. After a nice breakfast in town my riding partner suggested a walk to Mt Marley, who am I to turn down a gift horse (knowing there is a cache there).

I found this with my boys. WillPunkey spent 1/2 an hour with the telescope Thanks for bringing us up here. will give answers soon
A visit to the lookout certainly gave us a panoramic view of the Stanthorpe area and the opportunity to take a close look at some of the granite boulders. The information collected, we have sent the answers to the questions to the CO. Thanks Net88 for an interesting Earthcache.
I decided to do this Earth cache today. The required email has been sent. Thanks for the cache I learnt a bit more about granite and how it was formed.
The information was collected on the first day of our Pilgrimage to the Red Centre. To get time to do all the computer work for travelling while travelling has been difficult. Hence the delay.
Lovely views and thanks for bringing us (austrees and I) to the lookut for the panorama with this cache.

After spending the weekend with NyssaFlutterby and Wombles&Co in Girraween completing another Earthcache, we were on our way back to Brisbane and made a quick stop here to grab a couple of caches. A nice spot, and it was rather quiet here today which is always good for Cachers. This was a nice end to a great fun weekend. Thanks for the cache Net88.
