WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 30 - Corrigin to Wickepin via Yealering. I woke to my first rain for the trip, and I had left stuff out, something I have not often done. I got a bit wet putting things away, before heading back inside till it stopped. I tried one cache in Corrigin and failed miserably, so went and bought a coffee in a very warm cafe, so tempting to stay, and got on the road. I managed a few caches along the road, including one tough cemetery multi at Yealering. Yealering also had a great range of caches along a sadly low lake and a great set of Labs, even if I saw no one around. The run to Wickepin went smoothly, but I missed the shop for bread for 10mins, oh well, lunch at the cafe before setting up at the caravan park. I did a few more caches in the afternoon, before sitting down and finishing solving the caches for tomorrow.I enjoyed my caches in this small lakeside town. The possibilities were high. Golf, tennis, water skiing, but the place was deserted so I wandered around collecting caches and doing labs enjoying the place to myself. Thanks for the cache Fernweh*47037.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2016 Bigfoot A#354**Albida**
Coords were way out, so we checked some of the obvious spots nearby and had the cache in hand fairly soon. What a great spot! Love these little country discoveries! TFTC
Full time nomads since February 2014, back in WA to visit family.
Staying in Wickepin now for a few days. Still tootling around the countryside picking up some smilies after WAGB, today we headed across to Pingelly and surrounds.

Out and about caching toda. After arriving at GZ and searching, finally found the cache and signed the log. TFTC
Visiting from the east and heading to the WAGB event and caching along the way and at the event and areas around Narrogin then on to Kulin and back to Perth via a quick visit to Albany. Thanks to all the various COs for placing caches (or EC and virtuals) for us to locate, learn and explore. Signing as Team East+2.
Kulin to Wickepin
This morning we headed back towards the last of the Kulin series
Some great Tin Horse sculptures seen today.
This afternoon after setting up at Wickepin free camp we headed out to Yearling .
Amongst our finds were an AL, traditionals & a multi. A good rural drive.
Thankyou to the CO's for placing these caches.

pug002 found it 15/3/23 tricky as GPS and phone were not taking anywhere near cache, about to give up as we had been going since 7am and geo pup was getting a bit irritable, 10 metres out and I thought one more try here and found it. TFTC Fernweh
Quick find in a nice location. Logbook is soaking wet have added a piece of paper TFTC

Out and about as Team RTA (Road Trip Adventures) on a power caching mission to the Wheatbelt! A successful day all round, with our target mission being Harrismith. Thanks to all the cache owners for their work in placing and maintaining all these caches; without your work, I doubt I would ever travel to these regional areas.
A plan for a road trip was organized with several other geocachers ( Geotrakka, Barnzy12, Cravo10 and Lachie 1.77). We signed the logs as RTA short for Road Trip Adventures. An early start for the day. Lots of laughs and funny moments. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining their caches for others to find , tftc
Heading past the area so dropped in. Very quiet. The cache was covered by spiderwebs and the shells of a type of insect so I missed it on first inspection. After 5 mins searching I went back and dug deeper to reveal the cache. TFTC
Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
I was a bit worried about this one, but she made a quick find where I first looked.
Thanks for the hide and Fernweh*.

On the road with megawat60 after our month camphosting at Cape Arid. After a couple of days in Wickepin we are heading north, with a first time stop here. I had a lucky quick find and signed log, last finder before us was jasenjanine…. TFTC!
In the area on another mission, i decided to grab a few other caches along the way. This place was a very pleasant surprise, and after taking WAY too long to track down the hide, i sent my drone for a flight over this beautiful lake [^]

We headed back out to Kulin for a couple of days to continue collecting some caches after enjoying the area in August for IGD, Happy to say we came up trumps here and walked away with a smiley TFTC
What a lovely place, which we would not have known about but for geocaching. TFTC Littlelisa22
Late log I found this whilst at IGD in Kulin. Thanks to CO’s for placing and maintaining.
Met up with Geotrakka for some laughs and giggles to collect some caches before Kulin. Was expecting this one to be a lot more difficult than it was, or maybe we were just lucky. TFTC ??
Met up with kimmorley in Brookton to team up and grab some caches along the way to Kulin.
Thanks littlelisa22 - Ive never been here before. Thanks for bringing me here

We stayed at the caravan park last night, what a fantastic spot! This morning GeoMum & I thought we’d go and find the one cache in town to bring us up to our 190 tally. Unfortunately due to all the wonderful rain we’ve been having the area is completely under water so we didn’t even try. We’ll def come back when the water levels go down. I’d also suggest the owner does a maintenance run when the water has subsided a bit.
On a road trip up to the Mid West. Homeward bound today taking some of the roads less travelled. We enjoyed the variety of hides, particularly those that were placed on or near signs that depicted the history of the area. Thank you to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment. Wow....what an amazing little spot this proved to be. The lake is full of water, which according to the locals has not been like this for two years. This cache proved to be very elusive. We spent more time than we should have searching. There are only so many places to hide a cache if it is still a 200ml sistema. Even so...it has not been found in over a year. Trees have been chopped and new plants planted in the gardens. After much consideration, we have replaced the cache with a new one at the listed coordinates. This area deserves a cache, as its a real attraction for visitors.
Find #4042 for us today.
Find #4042 for us today.
It's in the same area but has been moved due to construction. Hint small container look up.
Due to a large number of workers improving the waterfront area we decided not to stay after a very quick look proved fruitless
We came. We hunted. We did not find.
Thanks Fernweh* but we had no joy here today.

Found with richlink on a very blustery day. Even though visibility was quite poor due to a dust storm, it is a stunning location. Thanks for the cache Littlelisa22, it was found in the obvious location though the coords out approx 6-7m, try 677/601.
After an early morning trip to Hyden to collect some unfound caches, we decided to travel east of Kulin to grab some other hides before the super storm hit. Lovely location but the fierce winds were stirring up the dust making searching unpleasant. Thanks littlelisa22
It took us a few minutes to find this one, great hide, it was 6 meters off point for us. This one was tricky TFTC
We have travelled from A (our home in SW of WA) to B via the Savannah Way with a two week unexpected detainment in Mackay which has set us back, now sadly travelling back to A via the Outback Way from Winton through to Laverton thought we'd do it before it's completely sealed
I've been told to cut my list and not many finds today otherwise we'll never get closer to home
I took the note of a previous log and when my phone was saying 10m from GZ I started searching, seems I started in the right spot first time.
Took a screenshot when at cache location and it read S 32 35.677 E 117 37.601
with a reading of 10m from GZ
TFTC and sadly the last cache for our travels of over 13,000km

I had a job going to the grain bins up the road. So I took the opportunity to get this geo on the way home as it’s a new LGA for me. TFTC
No luck this time locating cache, spent a good 40 minutes looking.
we are planning on visiting Yealering again will have another look next time.

Stunning spot but sad to come such a long way and no prize.
We looked thoroughly around new and old GZ. Even looked under the trap door. Think it's gonski.

After a bit of a search no luck here today, although there was a large branch down from a tree right at GZ which made searching difficult. It was worth the drive here for the view. TFTC!

Found the Barnzy12 replacement, its bigger and a little off GZ, probably should update the coordinates if the new cache is suitable. I will submit a need maintenance as I feel fellow cachers will have the same distance issues, however its a great spot and I am glad you brought me through here,
Thanks Fernweh*

Finally!!! It is WAY off the original coordinates but like KrabiBoy I expanded my search. I had my muggle husband helping me look.
Had a good look for the cache at GZ but no luck, expanded my search a bit and found the 200ml sistema that Barnzy12 had placed. This was a bit away from the coordinates, so have taken a reading and they are attached to this log.
The final day of my Adelaide to Perth drive after heading to the Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs. Looking forward to getting home now.

TFTC! Last day of 2016, so what does one do? cleanup the last 2 LGAs they're missing on the map below great eastern highway. Grabbed them both,
Going to have to head to the northwest to cleanup the last of our missing LGAs of which there's around twenty to get.
Nice day out covering about 500kms for the day, some nice scenery. But with a time limit only 5 caches to account for. Thanks to the local COs for their caches!

We had a go at this one but stumbled across a few problems so PAF'd
Was told co-ords were out (abt 12m by my gps) so naturally we were in the wrong spot
and secondly PAF described what and where we should be looking and nothing was there that would give us a link to the cache
So not sure if it's been muggled
If CO wants to contact me I can send some pics and describe where/what PAF said we should have been looking for

A quick find and sign during my 2015 Road Trip. This is one of the best lake views that I've ever seen even though the lake is salt and only about a third full. Thanks to Fernweh* for the cache.
This was our first find & are now keen Geocache's. Great spot (we are biased as this is our home town!)

We were at Yealering for a Ulysses RV weekend away and hunted this one down whilst we were in town enjoying the area - not to mention a good feed at the hotel !
Our GPS had us a little way off GZ -------- ??
A good hide though. It's good when a little extra effort has been put into a cache. Thanks.

So yesterday I was telling my students about geocaching as we will be doing some on a school camp in a few weeks and to demonstrate I set them the challenge of finding the this one near our school. 3 or 4 of them have already found it and put their names on the log - I think this may be a new craze around here soon!
Anyway great hiding spot - cheers

Fifth cache on a caching trip today. Found GZ then started looking for tell tale signs and found it. Like the hint says its a tricky hide. TFTC.
