Please encourage the cachers who still need to log trackables taken, to do so. Our Dalfonteiners' Rhino is one of the TB's that have not been accounted for here.
We came along to a prelude event that featured something yellow a few weeks ago, but today it was all Bananas. We arrived in good time and minute by minute the crowd grew but with so many people around we all did just blend in.
The conversations were happening when the shouts of "Banana" echoed loud and the direction was clear there was a banana in the distance.
next thing we knew we were all heading towards a banana on the bridge. Eventually the crowd gathered and photos were taken before the crowd eventually dispersed and the lemon headed off for some caches in the city.
Our thanks to Sharkiefan for the event, lots of fun.

Late getting out the door, and taking a longer stroll around the MCG in a vain attempt to log a Letterbox Cache for this month's Groundspeak challenge, I missed the excitement, but caught up with the rest of the mob at the waterhole they ended up visiting. It was still great to catch up with friends... and gain the fifth of the badges up for grabs.
Thanks, º and sharkiefan.

Find #111. Found with Geo-Dad SirJ-Oz
I like the caching, not so much the logging, so SirJ-Oz is generically logging my finds for me.

Another August over and this was a great way to end it. Spent the day with a friend and ran around in a banana suit. Just your typical day really. Thanks to all who attended. Special thanks to the running cachers and "BANANA" shouters. Maybe I will find a use for this costume some other time.
During my work and travel year in Australia I'm trying to solve my 365 days of caching challenge. Having a moving home zone should make this definitely way easier
This event was definitely a fun one. I did not read the whole description, so I was quite surprised, when this banana walks up.

#6154 We had already achieved the 7 Souvenirs for August, this event was just a bonus whilst we happened to be in town for a nieces 21st birthday . After parking at Eureka, we walked down toward the starting co-ords only to see some familiar faces milling around. All of a sudden the call of "Banana" went out and sure enough the yellow fruit was spotted on the opposite bank. As we walked the bridge we got waylayed chatting......as you do . All too soon the flash was over and we had to bid adieu to our caching friends as we still had a ways to travel home. Our thanks to sharkiefan for the Flashmob fun, yellow is very becoming on you . Cheers [^]

More of banana rabble but fun nevertheless. Just managed to fit this in before got a plane home. Great way to end four days in Melbourne.
Had been saving this event to pull a last minute completion of my 7 soa challenge. A lot of faces I haven't seen before, a lot I have. Until next time, thanks for the event
My first event cache, great to chat with a fellow geocaches, thanks for the event
Second event, but this time with gildalimor. Great banana suit sharkiefan and nice lemon . Thanks for the event and nice to meet some different cachers
We attended the event two weeks ago to achieve the august souvdnir and were undecided about running thru the streets calling banana.. but in the end the geo kids convinced us to go. It was a great day for the last day of winter, and a enjoyable event was had.. the banana and even a lemon made an appearance.. than of afterwards to find a few more caches.
Hoping to avoid a parking problem, I rode the motorcycle in and propped myself at the bridge to await the banana (and everyone else). The banana appeared and raced towards me!! I got a few snaps, then the socialising began. I met people from WA, Germany, America, somewhere '4 hrs away' and a heap of the usual suspects. The weather was perfect and people were everywhere, we rather disrupted the flow of foot traffic over the bridge. According to one lot of passes-by, we were a bus group. I grabbed a couple of TBs and handed out a few pathtags. I seemed to end up taking home the TB's I bought with me. opps.
Thanks so much to sharkiefan for a bit of end of the month entertainment, I enjoyed it. I hope the banana makes another outing soon!

Perfect day for a brief little event, and it was great to have that excuse to come in to the city and enjoy quite a diverse afternoon during and following the event.
Nice to meet some old and new people - and I hope that one cacher who I was trying to help find a city mystery to finish off his August set was able to find one in the end!

About three years ago I was innocently surfing the web when I accidentally happened upon www.geocaching.com. My life up until then had been relatively normal. I had a wife, two kids, a nice house in the hills and a comfortable job. I enjoyed bushwalking, building things in my shed and quiet nights in with the family.
To give you an idea on how www.geocaching.com has turned my life around, today I could be found at the busy south bank strip, yelling "BANANA!!!!" at the top of my voice before chasing a person dressed up as a banana through the crowds.
Thankyou geocaching and thank you Philipp and Sarah for a great event!

We attended this event today at 1:00pm as number 6 of 13 on our Banana tour of Southbank. We spent a short time at the event before heading off for a few caches and lunch with a few old geocaching friends. At this event, we completed our souveneirs of August and notched up our 67th event - 2/3 of the way to 100. Thanks from D, HA & A B-A.
It was a stunning August day for finding a "Banana" strolling along the footbridge at Southbank. Did I hear the cry "Banana"? Ooohhh - this is the flashmob - yay I found the caching crowd. Thanks again sharkiefan for organising this event - it's helped me with my Souvenirs of August. And what a great turn up. Thanks all and thank you very much to our "Banana".
Great to meet more Geocachers
Thanks for my event
Also this is my 500th cache!!
great day

Find #1487. Attended @ 13:00 with skirrel.
I was umming and ahhing about attending today but figured I should get out and about caching over the weekend. As I was preparing to leave, skirrel decided she wanted to come with.
We arrived a little early and made our way to the rendezvous point via the nearby earthcache (for skirrel to do the research), then awaited zero hour.
We were engaged in a little social chit chat when the shout of "BANANA" rang out.
Skirrel and I spotted the banana and ran after her. It was only after the first hundred metres or so when I realised that we were the only ones running. Oh well. We managed to catch the banana on the bridge, and skirrel got the FTT (first to touch).
We then spent the next little while being social on Ponyfish Island meeting and talking with some old friends and making some new ones before grabbing another cache or two, and then home.
I was a little disappointed that this event didn't take place in Banana Alley (across the other side of the river) as it seemed a more fittingly named location. A missed opportunity there.
Took a few trackables, left nothing, signed log and visited some other trackables.
Thanks for the cache º mashed by sharkiefan.

What a great day for a flashmob. Such a good turnout too. I joined Day1976 in shouting "BANANA" but most were slow in taking off with only skirrel and SirJ-Oz and maybe a couple of others getting into the spirit and making the run. After some obligatory photo's, I joined The banana and others for a drink on Ponyfish Island.
Thanks to º mashed by sharkiefan for this fun event and well done to Sarah for dressing up to make it all happen.

A fun idea for an event. New to caching it was great listening to all the stories and meet others cachers. Thanks sharkiefan.
Parking was a bit of a worry but we managed a short stay and sight the banana.

Thanks Sharkiefan for organising this. I seem to have missed all other opportunities to get to an event this month so needed this to finish off my 7SoA. Got the train in and had a casual stroll to the well known rendezvous point (wasn't hard to miss the glut of cachers in vicinity). It was a beautiful day for it and the event was certainly well attended. retired to Ponyfish Island and discussed the limitations for accessing a nearby cache. Saw a few cachers that I knew and met a few new ones including a few visitors from overseas. Grabbed 3 TBs to move on and departed for the train home.
Ooppps, editing log to the actual event date!

Geo Puppy had a great time hunting bananas. Was good to catch up with new cachers and to see some familiar faces.
We kept this one to complete our seven souvenirs of August challenge.
Thanks for the event and the enjoyment sharkiefan.

Yeh !!! I have done my last souvenir for the month of August,
It was a beautiful sunny day where My family and I met up with happy chappies family,
We rushed off to do this cache, well walked over briskly to the yellow banana, I was wearing the minion mask most of the way, it was very hard to see out of it, after a few happy snaps and catching up with old and new faces on the bridge we were text quite a few times from our other halves who started without us at the blue train for a drink, and then a yummy lunch.
Thanks guys for organising this flashmob, we managed to turn it into a lovely family afternoon [:x]

We needed this one to complete the challenge, and we actually arrived in plenty of time for the flashmob, which was amazing for us. Spotted the banana and yelled and pointed and WALKED with a large group of other cachers to the yellow banana girl on the bridge. Great fun to catch up with everyone and a nice lunch with Monch's Mob afterwards. Thanks for organising the event.
We are in town so we will slide by and catch up for a chat with some fellow bananas.
Looking forward to the fun!
Cheers

Visiting from Perth and will just manage to sneak into this event before we have to catch a plane home.
I have changed the meeting point after the event to Ponyfish Island. Nice and close. The idea is for people to run but if you can't for whatever reason please just head there. See you soon
I wish I could attend. Sounds like fun but alas I am otherwise obligated at that time.
We will be there, visiting relatives in the big city.

Already completed the 7SoA, but heck this sounds like way to much fun not to be there. Besides Monkeys love banana too.
