Some blood was shed to get to this one but the lack of closed toe shoes were to blame. TFTC
Given I couldnt be at last weekends events in Canberra, I made sure I was at this Saturday event (GCAV8M4). I did it as an overnight trip. I left straight after work on Friday and arrived at my motel. After my night sleep, I headed off for Bfast and then over to Fyshwick to find some caches over there. This also included a great Earth Cache. Next it was time to head to the event. Another nice fun event to attend. I also finally got to say happy bday to Toy Hunters. After the event I found a couple of nearby caches. From here I headed off to get lunch. After lunch I headed off to find some caches around Bowning along a quiet back road and a couple of others along the way to Boorowa. Now time to head home. It was a great overnight trip away. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE and TFTCs! A nice quick find for this one. Thanks
This one was very easy as we followed the flattened grass up and was able to see it on approach. Thanks
Found It!I had a DNF on this one last year then today I came back for another attempt. It the meantime it had moved a bit but that meant that this time it was a quick and easy find!TFTC
I picked this one up in the middle of the day after lunch nearby with a girlfriend. The trees were full of fairy wrens that didnt seem too bothered by my presence! Thanks for the cache, Tankengine
Crushing our leap day finds today! Sadly we missed the days efforts, perhaps next time we will see you things in action here TFTC

Had a wander around - the bulldozers have been through here and flattened GZ. I suspect the cache has been crushed as well. Found a few pieces of rubbish - tyres and petrol tanks but nothing resembling a cache.
Out with Tankengine and Dty73 just roaming around the Fyshwick area. TE had no trouble finding this one. Demanded a favourite point. So welldone,, kutgw

Impressive crushing sounds and oil smells indeed! Photo of log attached as graphite doesn’t mark this log paper very well
Didn't hear any cars getting crushed today but did see a giant pile over the fence, interesting... Would love to come back here when they are in action. Cache quickly found in Tankengine style. TFTC Tankengine!!
Sadly no car crushing action today. Found this one after a bit of hunting around. TFTC!
The car crusher was putting on a show when we arrived. Flicking bits with the pendulum motion of his grabber. Tftc
Really liked the walk to this hiding place. Before turning left into the back of graveyard we found some abandoned tallboy piece of furniture that has some R rated vintage magazines.
An extra funny find

Never been up here before! Out and about with Baristayan before an afternoon of shopping. Nice cache Tankengine!
Was a little tricky given the number of potential spots, but in a fairly likely place once uncovered. Cars in process of being crushed as I type.
My pencil didn't work very well on the waxy log paper. Can provide a photo of the log if needed.

Filling in some time between events, I found myself out Fyshwick way this afternoon. With the quiet of a Sunday it was an easy park and short stroll to the GZ. It certainly would be interesting viewing in operation. Cheers Tankengine.

Came back to have another look, just to find the Tankengine performing maintenance. The original cache has indeed been compromised, so while TE is replacing it with my signature in the new log I am logging online.
There is quite a bit of crushing going on beyond the cache.

There has been some recent "landscaping" done here and GZ is a tangle of compacted trunks and branches as well as some ex fences.

My partner was at the music store nearby buying music stands, so I ducked off for a cache. I was originally aiming for South Shunt Siding or Fyshwick Choo Choo, but both entry points were blocked off with water works. I found the path I needed, went for the short walk. I was surprised that cars were being crushed at 9:15am on a Saturday, but the machinery was hard at work. I found the cache with relative easy, and headed out quickly to get away from the squealing and crushing noises. Thanks for the cache Tankengine!
Found tonight while the crushing was occurring next door, wow that's loud! TFTC
Reasonably quiet here on Sunday afternoon but still machinery going, and some welders doing repair work. A messy, industrial area - luckily a straightforward find in the obvious location at GZ. Thank you, Tankengine.
Found on a great day for walking around, cache in good condition and plenty of room left in the logbook. Glad we had gaiters on to protect the legs socks and shoes from all the grasses. TFTC
Would have walked past this a few times but I didn't look behind me as I did. Gps sent me about 7 metres away in the middle of a bunch trees. All up spent 15 minutes longer than it should have. Tftc
Found with McCosker. Going during a weekday had is feeling rather exposed and the excavators were doing their thing. It'd be preferable to the this one on a weekend. TFTC
Out about with Scotty, the big machines were doing some crushing, interesting to see them at work. Tftc

Very quiet here on an early Sunday morning! Quick find, thanks for hiding.

I was surprised that there was activity at the car crushing business at 0800 on a Sunday morning. I guess there are few neighbours in this part of Canberra, and therefore few complaints about early-on-a-Sunday noise.
It was a wonderful, marvellous, near-perfect morning to be out caching and I wish I'd had more time for it. C'est la vie.
I parked about 150 metres away and walked along the trail to near GZ. There were several options for hiding places so I checked the hint, which was very helpful. Excellent coords as usual were also very helpful and I was soon signing the log book.
Thanks TE for another geocache!

Another place I didn't know existed. Some of the machines were working today and they're noisy and smell like burnt diesel TFTC .
Out and about in Fyshwick. A quick find, stopped and watch the cars getting moved around for a while. Thanks Tankengine.
Wow - there was some serious heavy machinery action going on here this afternoon. Lucky this was an instant find as I leapt into the air at one point as I was scared a car was about to get dropped on my head. Tried to stay and watch for a while, but very noisy!
TFTC - had no idea this place was here. It’s just the kind of place I used to take my boys when they were younger that they would have watched for hours!

Was very busy inside and close to the cache. So I really appreciate the hiding location.
After attending dawn service on this ANZAC day, we decided to go out for a few hours while the roads were reasonably quiet and do some of those high muggle areas. NIce mornings smileys achieved.

Enjoyed the walk in. I was out by about 4-5m so just checked the vicinity with hint in mind. Haven’t seen one of these containers before. Tftc
Enjoying the Mega and increasing our cache count. Thanks Signed log as T.I.N.S
An early start. Left home 5.15am. Grabbing some targeted caches. Once at Gz a quick find was made. With the rain last night there a strong smell of the pine trees.
There a lot of crushed metal here.

The only redeeming thing about the location is that the walk in reminded us of the Garbage People from The Walking Dead. At GZ there was so much rubbish, rusty wire and ants ..so many ants. Cache found none the less and log signed. TFTC Tankengine.
This dirt track is a dumping ground. What your step! The machinery was is operation while I was here for a quick find. Tftc.
I did't know if I'd be allowed down this walkway today. The men are working at the end of the street on the electrical wires, but all ok. Glad I didn't attempt this a couple months ago at night when I collected the opposite side of the hwy. Got to the location and what a mess! This spot seems to be turning into the local junkyard. Cache found in good condition. Tftc
Easy walk and find over a lunchbreak, the machine was active and very noisy on the way past. TFTC
I didn't see any cars being crushed but there was definitely a lot of activity and noise nearby. I just hoped that no one would see me walking along here and enquire as to what the goodness was I doing. But it was fine, nothing to worry about. What was more difficult was finding the cache. There were countless possible hides here and I was briefly distracted by the discarded tank and other odds and sods. But in the end, the cache was found in good condition. Day 61 of my current streak. TFTC
We are in the area for Easter and took the opportunity to grab this cache whilst we are here.
Cache took a while to find as GPS was very jumpy but we got there in the end thanks to the Cat.

Oh yes there was a lot more going on here today, with the noisy work going on right next so that felt fully immersed. Not so much the crushing today though but the sorting the crushed pieces into an upright standing 40 foot container- see picture! (Possibly for overseas?)
Well cache was a nice and easy find. Thanks TE.

With some jobs to do in Fyshwick, I took time out to wander down the path to find this cache. Spotted as I turned off towards GZ. Thank fully a quick find. Interesting to see the crusher and it's pile? I wonder where all the escaping fluids go? Thanks Tankengine.
Found with nissan 65 on a few days away caching Log signed and returned to its hiding place. Thankyou for the cache.
We took a wrong turn on the way home and ended up at a dead end. A quick check of the geocaching app told us that perhaps it was meant to be. TFTH
Not a very salubrious area but found it okay. Was just grateful I didn't have to cross the fence - that would have been really crushing! Going full bore late on a Sunday.
The tree coverage played havoc with the SATs but all good in the end .
Plenty of cars have made their way here over time including one of my previous trade ins at Jeep around the corner .
Many thanks to tankengine for the sneaky hide . Found Sun at 4.40 pm.

#2232 I had a spare moment today to cache. This cache was a quick find. The noise from the machinery was unique. TFTC Tankengine.
