Seems to have gone missing again, so we are calling it a day on this spot. Thanks to all the visitors and fun we have had with it over the years.
Something big ran out from under the rock. Must of been cool under there. Cache all good. Tftc
I was with Tram Boland noticed I missed logging this cache not sure how .. had a great weekend in the Coromandel saw lots and did lots of walking.
Thanks for cache.
Thanks for cache.
Team BOP have reunited for a two day journey up to the top of the Coromandel. We were pleased to be tackling these not long after a maintenance run as it's nice to know the caches are all in good order. They all seemed well placed with adequate parking and in spite of the repetitive nature of power trails - it was quite and enjoyable run.
This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward hint. Cheers Darby&Joan, TFTC.

On a weekend road trip with Team BOP - Heading to the top of Coromandel but completing this series first. With so many caches in the series it is hard to remember each one. It was great to see maintenance being done on the caches and thought done when placing them for parking. It did start to rain as we began our journey but by the time we finished the sun was shining TFTC
Team BOP were heading to the Coromandel west coast and we had to knock off the 309 Road first.
Another quick find thanks to the good coords and hint.

3081 It has been a long time since I have driven the 309 but these caches were a good incentive. Managed to find 32 with 8 DNF. Some were quickly found while others I spent some time looking. All part of the pleasure.
A quick find. Was surprised with the container though. Thanks for the placement.

Road trip around the Coromandel with lots of caches to find. Checking out the back roads. This one reminds me of driving though the forests of home in the Far North. Quick easy find. TFTC.
Due to a traffic jam on the SH1 north off Auckland and a lot of road construction sites on our way from Warkworth to Whitianga we arrived at Coromandel rather late in the afternoon.
Hence there wasn't time enough to do a lot 309 caches unfortunately.

On holiday in NZ with Higsters. Staying in Hahei and took a drive out to Coromandel. Thought we'd try and pick up a few of these caches on our way back (won't have time to do them all) so doing them in reverse order. Good hint led to a nice quick find. TFTC
During our vacation in New Zealand we also did some geocaching. We already found geocaches placed on the year 2000. Now we are heading to Coromendal and there we also did some caches. We found some and also didn't found some. But we had a lot of fun, and that is what geocaching ment to be. We loved the route 309. We had the speed of a pony, so after a long day we finally found the last one. We had no idea what to do with the letterboxes, so we didn't found them. Randsom we ad some FP's.
Darby&Joan hartelijk dank voor het leggen en onderhouden van deze cache.

Found instantly. Nice coice of cache container. Have not seen one of these before. Quickly signed and returned and finally off the the last one!
While spending some quality-time together with my Manaia588 in Whitianga I thought that we could collect some nice caches. Thx for the nice trail.
With MUEZ (aka "the driver") on Road 309 from Whitianga to Coromandel: Thanks for showing us this entertaining and historic "shortcut" from the East to the West Coast.

dneska jsme si užili tuto cestu, jen 2 kešky jsme nenašli, některé ležely jinde než měly a některé nám daly trochu zabrat... ¨počasí bylo střídavě deštivo a slunečno, ale stálo to za to
už jsme podobných cest projeli dost, takže pro nás nic nového, ale přece jen byla nejdelší

Had time to quickly grab this cache on our way back from the Water works. Hopefully we can come back one day and try for some more.
The seventeenth one of this series today in the second take at this road in our rush to claim them all before heading back home.
All finds are now considered night caches, just without reflectors to help...non the less a quick find here enabling us to move onto the next one...
Cache was quite wet... added a new log and plastic bag to be able to sign the log...
Thanks to Darby&Joan for all the work that has gone into this series.

Decided this was a must do while in Whitianga. Drove the 309 and braved the rain. Lunch at Coromandel and back over the Kopu- Coroglen Rd. Very muddy. Found with bkj97. Excuse the repetitive logs.
Soggy log. One of many caches found while on a mission to grab some caches on the 309 and the tapu-Coroglen rds. Found with little blue hen Enjoyed the challenge despite rain and mud. TFTCSL
The long and winding 309.
We were in thrall of the variety of cache containers and the extent of the ingenious recycling and re-use deployed. Also, clearly a large amount of the country's quota of waterproof paper was put to use.
We dodged mud, puddles, muggles, gorse, and assorted trees and their branches to access these caches. But it was a great road trip experience, all of it, east to west. Thanks for laying this trail.
All in order here; log signed, then cache safely re-hidden just as found.

As we would like to have a little adventure, the_ kc and me drive the 309 to our next accomodation. And luckily there are a lot of stops to do! Thanks for hiding and maintaining this caches! !!!
When I planned my four week trip to beautifull NZ at home in Germany, I had the idea to visit this powertrail while I'm here. Today I arrived but I realized that I don't want to spend so much time with it. To much lovely things around. But I picked up a few Caches and if I come back one time (I really hope so!!!) I'll do more.
Thanks a lot for the Caches.

Came back to finish the 309 route as it was too dark yesterday. Found it quickly with Skyryser. TFTC The-Shredder
a lovely day today to hopefully finish the 309 which we started the other day in horrendous weather and abandoned. We were rather mystified by the waypoint given at the previous one which applied to this one. But the cache here was a quick find even if it was different to all the rest. TFTC
Definitely a really interesting road trip! Bit surprised to find an open egg in place, but I see that it is a replacement and the log only just fits in, so the egg needs to be firmly closed. Nice waterproof log. Easy find. TFTC
Found with team SEAC OF A 50 to find day. TFTC. Stunning day in god zone. Now it's an egg.
We formed a team of four, keylev, thebrownehornet, He of HeMaLuDy and me to try for 50 caches that are separated by 1km or more all in one day. This is to meet the requirement of one of the GIO challenges. We missed a few on our original list of caches, so we added this one to return to par. We signed the log as SEAC. TFTC.
Working on the Geo-Licence series and needed to find 50 caches in a day a minimum of 1km apart so a plan was put together to take a trip to collect them along with Agazo, Mrs HeMaLuDy and thebrownehornet. I left home at 8am and returned just after 10.30pm clocking a total of 476km on the car. The scenery was awesome and reminds me of all that is great in New Zealand.
Had not planned to get this one but as we had already encountered a couple of DNF's we decided the short trip was worth it to try and catch up a bit.
Thanks for the cache.

Keylev and Agazo hatched a plan to collect 50 geocaches 1 km apart for their GIO licence, and thebrownehornet was also going along for the ride. At the last minute Mr HeMaLuDy said he could manage the kids and school pick-up, sports etc so Mrs HeMaLuDy decided to tag along too - I'm not sure he was expecting us to be home quite so late as he tried to keep the kids up until I got home but finally put them to bed around 9 (we were home around 10 pm).
We drove pretty much around the Coromandel Peninsula to achieve the goal, and collect a few extras as well. A great day, amazing weather, incredible scenery and very few DNF's. Logs signed as Team SEAC or just SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) as we often cache together as a group, and it saves room on the logs.
A nice easy find here.

Found it but just the paper, there is no more pill box! Anyway thanks for the cache!
Thinking about how many Cache we actually will search on our way a long 309! This was a quick find!
This was our 15. and last find on our trip along this nice road (with new gravel). We found many of this caches very easy, on some places it is not so easy to stop so we "skip" some places. But finally we found 15 boxes.
I found the "object" from the hint - but there is no can anymore... But I found the "logstrip" in the gras, I think I will post the picture asap - but I can't log my visit, sorry.
Thank you for all the work on this "power trail" and sorry for this "standard"-logtext

Today: caching-tour on road 309. Thanks for all the caches! We had a great time Greetings from Franzi and Jonas
Found only the logbook and no container.
Found only the logbook and no container.
Sorry, this is one of the caches I don't remember! I had a system going where I used C:geo for the journey. I knew that cellphone coverage would be a problem on this road, so I saved the cache pages to the cellphone prior, and when I found a cache, I deleted it of the cellphone, so I knew at the end of the day what ones I found and the kept ones were the ones I DNF'd.
Forgot to log at the time. On a geocaching weekend with my favourite geo buddies, we hope to get loads of caches this weekend. We've decided to sign the log sheet as - day trippers CNSZ in order to save space on the log sheets. Cache was soaking wet and in a puddle. We replaced log sheet. Thanks to the cachers who hid these caches for us to find and make our weekend such fun.
Log soakinmg wet, in an eggshaped container in apuddle. We replaced the logsheet and put it under a rock. Didn't see any concrete block anywhere.
Signed as CNSZ as a geobuddies team out for this power trail.

Can not believe I missed this last time, did not even find the clue item, but straight to it today completing the series. Thanks for a great series, found lots of interesting little spots I did not even knew existed.
Pulled the steed up to a halt and found this cache quickly. SL'd with a green squiggle, as pen wouldn't write properly, and jumped back into the saddle.
I am sure I looked here last time I visited. Cache was behind not to one side of clue item. TFTC
I joined forces with yorkshirekiwi83 for a couple of days caching around the Coromandel Peninsula. After a very early departure from Auckland, we then drove around the Peninsula anticlockwise, calling in at Pauanui, Tairua, Hahei and Cooks Beach, to find caches in those places, before taking the 309 Road to Coromandel, where we stayed the night.
Nearing the end of our day, YK83 took over driving duties at the start of the 309 Road as she had previously done the Pony Express cache trail - leaving me to dash out and find the caches for myself! Most of the caches were nice quick finds, with only 1 DNF for me in the series. Thanks for taking the time to place this trail and apologies for the copy and paste logs!

Nothing, zilch, nada, nowt. DNF cache despite finding a concrete block.
Decided today was ideal for doing this series on the motorbike. As the temperatures rose I was starting to wish that I had brought the car with its air conditioning but, hey, geocaching is about the adventure. Got most of the series but one or two seem to be missing so didn't waste too much time on them. A great series, thank you Darby & Joan for setting it. TFTC

With the good hint it was a quick and easy find.
Today we decided to go to The Coromandel Peninsula, and why not take route 309 and find some caches too. We started from the Whitianga end, as recommended in the description, and we were quite happy, we did that, as it was a lot easier to make safe stops, compared to driving in the opposite direction .
We had a very nice trip towards Coromandel Town, and we found all the caches in this series, except one. Thanks to Darby&Joan for all the caches and for making this route even more interesting (for geocachers, at least ). We apologize for writing allmost similar logs, but it is hard to remember all the caches, and we have written a little bit to some of them.
Greetings from Denmark
