Motorhoming around in winter and finding a cache here and there. We are staying at the RV park overnight. Lovely spot. TFTC
Find # 15823Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 5. After a cold night at the Maggea Oval.. I was off on another days hunting. But decided to turn things around as I started in Loxton (after getting supplies) and tackle the trail backwards from original plan. TFTC Moneydork

As the sun rose over Lameroo Lake, its golden rays danced on the water, casting shimmering reflections. Sarah, an avid geocacher, tightened the straps of her backpack, excitement bubbling within her. Today, she was on a mission to find the elusive "Lameroo Lake Legend" cache, known for its intricate clues and beautiful location.Sarah had read about the cache on her favorite geocaching site. The description mentioned hidden trails, serene views, and a touch of local folklore. The first clue led her to an old oak tree near the lake's edge. Its gnarled roots twisted into the earth, and a small metal tag was nailed discreetly to the bark. She noted the coordinates and moved on.The trail took her deeper into the forest surrounding the lake. Birds chirped overhead, and the scent of pine filled the air. At the second waypoint, Sarah found a small cairn of stones. Hidden beneath the top stone was a small scroll. Unrolling it, she found a riddle: "Where the waters meet the sky, look for the guardian with the one blue eye."Pondering the riddle, Sarah made her way to a quiet cove where the lake's surface mirrored the sky. There, she spotted an old statue of a fisherman, worn by time. One of the statue's eyes was a striking blue gem. Carefully, she examined it and found a hidden compartment at its base containing the final set of coordinates. With the sun now high in the sky, Sarah trekked to the far side of the lake. She reached a secluded spot, where a large flat rock jutted out over the water. Beneath it, she found a small, weathered box. Heart pounding, she opened it to reveal the logbook and a few trinkets left by previous adventurers.Sarah signed the logbook with a flourish, adding her name to the list of those who had found the "Lameroo Lake Legend." She took a small, hand-carved wooden bird as a memento and left a shiny new compass for the next explorer. Sitting on the rock, she took a moment to savor the tranquility of the lake, feeling a deep sense of accomplishment. As she made her way back, Sarah couldn't help but smile. Geocaching had once again led her to a hidden gem, and the adventure had been well worth the effort. Lameroo Lake would always hold a special place in her heart, a testament to the thrill of the hunt and the beauty of nature.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -keep the Long weekend free- June 2025 Can't wait!!2464
Arrived in Lameroo early for the JLWE so an early start to caching before the event. Cold, no power last night and a soggy puppy. Getting brighter as the day goes on.The logbook here isnt a log book anymore. It is shredded paper. Found a blank piece to put my stamp on.TFTC.

Sparkie and Goldy are back for a special Christmas catchup caching session today. We are targeting the Lamaroo/Pinnaroo area today. We met up in Mount Barker and decided to drive express to Panitya in Victoria. The border is only 5km away from Pinnaroo, so we decided that we might as well go find a cache on the other side of the wall while nearby. We then stopped in Pinnaroo, Lamaroo and Parilla grabbing caches before heading home.Another fun day together with perfect weather. We found a total of 15 caches for the day. I also made a find in a new LGA, as I hadn't been to the Southern Mallee region before today.A nice quick find and sign here today. A few locals are enjoying the lake.A nice spot. Thanks! Thanks Trigger_Fish for this traditional cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3902 on the 22nd of December 2023.This also brings me to day #413 of my daily streak.

With murmurings of more covid-19 community transmissions and the possible need for another lockdown in Queensland, I decided to high-tail it out of there and found myself in South Australia earlier than expected to attend the Mega Event in Millicent After a week in Adelaide, it was time to pick up a little camper van and explore further afield. The Barossa Valley was great for a few days followed by some time in Berri and surrounding areas before heading down towards Millicent
After leaving Loxton and completing the Wandering Heroes - Fishy Tales series, I headed to Lameroo for the night. After a good night's sleep, I started the trek down towards Mt Gambier, selecting a few caches along the way to break the journey [^]
The cache was located easily enough and with my name added to the log book, I continued on my way
Thank you Trigger_Fish for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Getting to this cache was a little complicated by roadworks. Thankfully, the accurate coordinates and a very exposed cache led to a quick find. Thanks Moneydork for the cache.

This weekend, I visited Bordertown for the community celebration event. During the morning, it was a trip to Ngarkat Conservation Park, before joining everyone at the event while it bucketed it down with rain. The afternoon was spent visiting Wolseley and Mundulla. The following day, it was a trip north up the SA border to Pinnaroo, and an exploration of the vicinity via Mootatunga, Karte, Billiatt, and Lameroo. A return home via the highway allowed stops in Geranium, Jabuk, Peake, Sherlock, and Moorlands, arriving home well after dark.
Today, I headed out solo north of Bordertown to Pinnaroo via Senior and Ngarkat. A longer journey that I had anticipated. I decided to keep heading north along the Browns Well Highway, and find some of the out of the way geocaches in the vicinity through the back roads, including visiting Mootatunga, Karte, and Billiatt. I found the civilisation at Lameroo a welcome change, before continuing my westwards drive home. My final stop was at Sherlock completing *the Great Detective Series*, taking two hours all up I looped around those geocaches as it went dark.
A nice little lake, and I enjoyed admiring the cool pelican birds with red beaks. I don't think I had seen them before. It was a quick find at GZ, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Moneydork/Trigger_Fish for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
