Red belly black not far from gz I was worried walking thru the snakey grass to get to it . Oh no now to walk back. Be careful peeps. Log was disintegrated. Tftc
We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in North Western Sydney, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Holidays Avina BIG4 Holiday Park at Vineyard. Planning on exploring the suburbs of Lalor Park, Kings Park, Marayong, Glenwood, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, Scheyville, Agnes Banks, Yarramundi, Hawkesbury Heights, and Castlereagh. Hoping to collect some more previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some more Adventure Labs and SideTracked caches, and accumulate some more "units of fuel" for the "Cosmic Quest" souvenir challenge with a view to scoring the 100 point Ultra fuel souvenir. Our final day will have us going via Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside, for some more caching and a visit to the Nurragingy Miniature Railway, before taking the M7 & M2 Motorways back to home. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base.Today (day 3) we started the day with a ladder climb cache at Rouse Hill and then headed over to Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside for a visit to the Nurragingy Miniature Railway, followed by a nearby five stage Adventure Lab and associated AL Bonus cache, then a circuit walk around the northern end of Nurragingy Reserve between Richmond Road and the M7 Motorway. Ended our day with a previously solved Mystery/Puzzle cache and a Traditional cache in Melrose Park at Quakers Hill, before hopping onto the M7 Motorway and heading homeward. This was the 12th of 20 finds for the day (day 3), and 48th of 56 finds for the holiday. This one was next, on our circuit walk (clockwise) around the northern end of Nurragingy Reserve, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. Unfortunately the cache container was full of water and totally trashed inside. It was impossible to sign the log, so we took a photo instead. TNLN, and then replaced as found. TFTC dkmacca.Find #7031
After work, lets run some innings over here in Western Sydney Parklands. A soaked find here, also with my boots soaked. My fault for not paying enough attention . Now inching my way towards a big milestone next week. TFTC dkmacca
Made my way back to GZ through the wet vegetation. Cache was almost completely full of water. I dumped it out as best as I could but log book was competely soaked.
My third daughter found it, it was a good hiding spot but she covered it more to make it more of a challenge.
Found at nighttime with newbie team_johlee Filled up with small swaps for the goekidsTftc.
Wandered in off the beaten track and soon found myself sitting amongst the horizontal tree. TFTC
Found a path through the grass that led straight to the cache. Found it quickly but the box was empty
Found thankyou but empty. Walk to Gz was easier along the rock wall hugging the black fence
Empty box
Also I didn’t realise it was the cache until significantly after the fact, because we just assumed it was more litter

Found it And couldn't sign log as it was really wet but still left a surprise
I'm currently living outside this LGA and can't maintain these Caches while in lockdown. I will enable once I can get back into the area for maintenance.

We were not far into the grass when I saw a very thick black rubber hose. When the rubber hose started slithering we started running.
DNF - obviously.

This was awesome, our first one we have found and we are hooked! The note pad is wet and needs to be replaced so I might replace it tomorrow for the next group. Thanks
We approached from the path, making our way through the long grasses with ease until we got to the horizontal tree. I've never seen a tree so tenaciously trying to grow upwards against the odds. The cache was soon spotted after some monkeying around on the tree. Both the external and internal containers had water in them and the log book was soaked. We emptied it all out, carefully signed the log and replaced everything. Took a TB.
As we started on our way back, we spotted a red bellied black snake in the grass about a metre from us. A colourful exclamation and we backed off out of the grass. Then came the realisation that the only way to get back to the path was through the grass . A moment to compose ourselves and we started our very careful journey back, eyes wide and checking the grass carefully with each step. Fortunately we didn't encounter any more snakes.
We found so many great dkmaccas caches today and I have so few favourite points! I'm giving one to this cache because of the awesome tree and also because I didn't die .

YAY! After 2 or 3 previous attempts over the years i finally avenged this DFN . I must say, the other times i have been here, i was fixated on my absolute fear of snakes . I was too panicked to see anything, let alone a giant box .
When I got to GZ and saw the rating i thought "what?" and sure enough . I jumped up on the tree and panned to the side & there it was. Signed the damp log and took a photo to commemorate this achievement . FAV point because i strode through chest high grass, got clothes-lined by numerous giant spider webs (holy crap they were strong!), bush-wacked my way to GZ & back - and survived. TFTC.

The walk to the cache was very nice and the container is great. The log was a bit damp but still signed just fine. The tree is very cool! TFTC!
Chasing a few extra regular sized caches for some challenge caches and decided to come out to this one to make the only find for the day. A pleasant walk out to GZ before a harder than expected search, but in the end persistence paid off.. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition. Thanks for the cache dkmacca.

Great day of caching near the Hawkesbury River. Started in Ebenezer with the AL, unfortunately very unsuccessful as the location service on my phone was struggling and could not fix on the wp's I needed. Luckily I also made a good plan for other caches so the day turned out productive. Weather was really good, about 20 with a little breeze and nice and sunny. After finishing up in Windsor I had time left and went for a bike ride in this nice reserve!

OCW EverestHigh and Zelda the geodog to grab a few Ancient and Modern Wonders of the World.
Interesting tree. Unfortunately there was lots of water from recent heavy rainfall and the container was wet. But the log was signable. The CO was there to help dry things out. Dropped of a TB. TFTC

Great tree, nice cache. Sadly full of water. CO did some maintenance on the go. We had met the CO at a previous cache and he kindly walked around the park with us for a while. I'm giving a favourite point for this one. OCW Brewmaker and Zelda. TFTC dkmacca
I need to assess any damage to this cache due to the recent flooding.

This shows nature will find a way even if all is fallen. Without the M7, a nice quiet little retreat. TFTC.
Tftc. Found with Can’tFindAuntyM and the geo kids. Kids did a swap. Left a trackable.
found myself with some time available so I decided to try this cache. lots of Mozzies about & one spiky plant near the cache still it was an enjoyable find
Out today for a few local ones that I missed or have gone down since I was out this way last. 2 for the day. TFTC
What a great place, to find trees growing on a tree. Actually a tricky find considering the size of the cache but we got there

Geocache No: 673
Time: 17:11
Condition: Good
Experience:
This one was good. It’s really good to find some caches that are actually really good. There are too many caches that are just placed. Not bad cause we get the find count up but not amazing either.
This cache was really great. Loved every second of it.

#2325 well what can I say over the last few years I have come out to look for this cache a number of times always a failure from having difficulty getting to the cache due to water, long grass could see where I was going, then the times when I got to the tree it has been under water. Half the time I went after rain or after logs saying seen a snake.
Today was little exception there had been a recent snake spotted & it had been drizzling & raining spasmodically over the days. I stepped off the path to follow tyre tracks & first step went up to my ankle in water, not a good start, they weren't my waterproofed hiking boots either. Kept going and didn't find another hidden puddle after that. Soon got to the tree then started hunting in all the spots I had looked in the past few years thought I saw something at one point but checked again didn't find what I thought I saw. Kept on looking still without finding anything. In the end went back to where I thought I had seen something. This time came from the other side moved a piece of camo and there it was.
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache dkmacca. After all this time & experience finally a smiley

Was out here earlier today trying to finish this end of the trail. I stomped about, bashed the bushes and all but did the "Locomotion" in an attempt to discourage any slithering things
Our third find on our family geocache day today!
The kids loved finding this ammo cache! Took some swag and left some too.

I guess this one was too hard for us! We braved the bushy terrain, found the flat tree but not the cache
School holiday caching with MR AWTYOW, the junior geo-gangsta and Dwight Shrute!
Kids love the ammo cans, great spot for a hide. Came across a red belly black snake leaving so back-tracked and went out the way we came. Take care out there.
Was not thrilled when starting to approach through the high grass. But there are no snakes out in winter, right. Ended up in a nice spot with a horizontal tree, so all good. Thanx

Time is ticking by and I still need 40+ finds before earning the last of the Hidden Creature souvenirs. Was originally planning to do the Richmond Rd trail but spotted this one and figured it would be a great day for a bike ride.
Time to take the mountain bike off-road to get to this one. The dry grass was quite long but I managed to follow some car tracks that were heading in the right direction. Found the horizontal tree and shortly afterwards, a good sized container.
Wow - so Team Webguy have now been caching for over 14 years. Wish I would have found out about it back then. So many inter-state and overseas trips... Just coming up to my 3rd year of caching in September

we walked through the western sydney parklands through a dangerous river crossing, the men crossed first, the children crossed second, the dog was ferocious with bravery, lastly the women with the help of their fearless man. we then proceeded to march together to the unauthorised zone, cheating death 7x! we beat security! through the rocky path of the perimeter. we found the barb wire fence, with hesitation but persistents we beat the last hurdle pants got ripped, people got scratched, the women were carried over this dangerous obstacle and then the treasure was found! THE VICTORY WAS OURS!!
Nice easy walk into GZ with no water traps to get in the way, a sign of the dry months we have had over summer. Found where expected to. Replaced as found after signing the log. tftc
Found on May 1.
I really needed to declutter my house but when FBS asked to come Geocaching, somehow that seemed a much better way to spend the afternoon. This geocache has been om my list for a long time as it's the only one I hadn't done in the westerns Sydney parklands. So happy to see a smiley now. Master Q found a trackable car which will stay with us for a while as he wants to play with it. Will send it on its way soon

You can't fool us... This isn't a horizontal tree, it's just a vertical tree that is sleepy. Either way... Great hide. Tftc!
I've never seen anything like that. Thanks for showing us this tree. Also met a cow that had gotten out of it's paddock. It was friendly.
Geokid decided that she wasn't tired enough for a nap in the afternoon, so we decided to take the opportunity to go for a walk, and hopefully get her to sleep. Geokid had finally fallen asleep! Hallelujah!
As we followed the paved path, we found a path that looked like someone had been doing some off road driving on. Sent geohubby in, and after some time searching he found the cache. Signed and returned.

After our childfree evening and hunting, and geokid not wanting to nap this afternoon, we took the opportunity to go walking as a family and see if the outdoors would put her to sleep.
Following the path, brought us to a geovehicle path leading towards the cache. Not sure who created it.
Followed it close to the cache before following the GPS to GZ. A quick scout around and I couldn't see anything remotely cache like. I moved to the other side of the horizontal tree.
I spotted something out of the ordinary, could it be the cache? Yes it was!!
Signed the log, dropped off the Space Coin and picked up Travel Express coin.

Despite the predicted heat today, we made our way out to Western Sydney Parklands for a day of geocaching. Found an indistinct cacher’s trail into GZ. “Climbed” the tree like Batman and Robin used to climb buildings. Hello, Citizen, what have we here? Interesting location. An afternoon walk through Western Sydney Parkland; home of quite a few caches.
After Zoom Clunck Clunck I continued walking along the motorway until I could take a left turn into the parkland. The grass was tall, and I was careful as I do not enjoy an encounter with a snake.
The horizontal tree was found quickly and I enjoyed the nice bark pattern on the tree. Then I started to search for the cache and after a bit I noticed something suspicious. Great cache!
