Had another attempt at this one today armed with some CO clues. I couldn’t work out which end was which and I believe they can travel in both directions anyway so I checked both ends.
I checked high and low, left and right band came up with nothing.
I’ll watch and wait.
I really want to get this one.
Thanks 3LG

Maybe I'm losing my knack, not sure, shotflames and I spent a while at GZ trying to locate the miniature cache and came up empty. Will have to try again another time, thanks Linda.
Thanks LiB for this cache. This is a real toughy. I can sympathise with others who have tried and failed. I have had a go at this one twice before. Tonight after a cache maintenance run I rewarded myself with another attempt at this one. Go figure. I had lots of time, I roughly knew where it was, and yet it was still playing hard to get. My hands were dirty with rust, oil and dirt. The other hand was holding the torch shining this way and that. Finally I saw a shadow, of a width that would suit a nano we are all familiar with. I had the torch inside out and caught a glimpse. It took a good reach around and sure enough, the little fella was at my finger tips. Woohoo, a nemesis found. I said a few words (like nana-na-nahna-no) to the little blighter and then realised I still had to get him open and sign it, with one filthy hand. Business done, rewound back into its case and back on board for the next red rattler trip to no where. So pleased with this find, a frowny into a big big smiley. Now off to the exceloo to clean up.
Third visit and with another hint from CO, still couldn’t find it. going to have gelato to console myself.
I spent half an hour looking but no luck. There were just too many places it could have been.
When i got back to the hotel and told Mrs Smash that I had failed, her face went ashen.
"B-b-but Piston," she stammered, "how can that be?"
"I dunno, Babes," I said. "It's just one of those things."
"Noooooo..." she cried and began to rock back and forth until she was actually ululating in distress.
Takes things very hard, does Mrs Smash.
Thanks for bringing me here. Interesting bit of local history.

Well ... I came, I looked, I climbed under.
I looked, I searched, I felt here, there and everywhere.
No spawn of Satan discovered here today !

DNS - Had limited time in Glenelg today before heading to the airport - so opted to skip this one. Next time
Found on my first day out looking for far too long.
Had an idea of where to look and managed to lay hands on the SOS in the third place examined.
Bloody Nanos! Spawn of satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who sells Nanos.
Thanks LíB for the cache

I had a good long look at the CO advised location on the Rattler on Saturday afternoon, and was unable to find the cache. So many places to look, I easily could have missed it. I will keep an eye out for any future activity on this one.
The fence is down and this cache is now accessible again. Gould the CO please re-enable it. Alas, despite that, Munja and I still could not find the cache
Waiting, waiting waiting for the fence to be removed. The cache and hide are all good. The fence is for the old Buffalo ship but unfortunately it has surrounded this hide
No sure how long the fence will be up, still cannot be accessed until the works here have been finalized
Did not attempt as rattler is behind a fence, which, according to a sign, will remain until April 14th.
I'll be watching

Kids were too impatient to wait for me to keep looking like an oddball tram fan will come back again and find it!
Found with GagaFan and the help of some fellow geocachers who just happened to be in the same spot doing the same thing...bit tricky but spotted after a few minutes searching....TFTC
So many places to choose from but this sneaky one was found in the end - joint effort with another couple of cachers who turned up while we were hunting. TFTC
I am here in South Australia for the 25th Australia Scout Jamboree AJ2019 which is being held at Tailem Bend.
The AJ is now over and the rear party is spending a couple of days in Adelaide before flying home to Sydney.
Today GeoFriend Sandy and I went to Glenelg on the tram to check in out.
I searched and searched for this one and just could not find it.
Not having much luck in SA.
Oh well, off to the next one.

Unfortunately we had to leave Adelaide already today to go to our friends place in McLaren Vale. It was a short night after celebrating new years eve at Elder Park. But before we left we were heading to Glenelg to explore and meet other friends surprisingly once again.
On our way we were able to turn a couple of boxes in to yellow smileys.
Thanks to 3LG for placing the cache.

Sadly we had to leave Adelaide
heading off to McLaren Vale. We took a few boxes on the way. We also strolled around in Glenelg.
Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining the caches.
Found and logged together with Swerik, Mikaching and GPS-Wickie.

Maybe I need to raise the difficulty on this one? You are looking for a nano, front end, under & up... good luck
Thanks 3LG but we couldnt find this one last night. Had an attempt but too many ppl around so we headed off for some others and returned when there were no ppl around. We searched and searched, there are so many hidey holes here. Finally KTPops decided to do a run from back to front right through the centre of the carriage while I watched from beside. Still nothing. I certainly do not have much luck with these train ones. The locos at Tailem Bend, Murray Bridge and Kadina all have eluded me. Merry Xmas 3LG.
With help of Andi Colombia we found the cash at this nice place during the Lifesaving World Championships.
Great easy find. Doing well this morning.
Being from Victoria our old red rattlers were the trains just the odd 40 years ago!!

We searched and searched but couldn’t find it- even with the hint. We will try again when in Adelaide next.
After visiting here yesterday without luck I was able to get some much needed information at an event last night. Well that always helps and today I got to see the ‘red rattler’ from a completely different angle. We can now add trams to the list of objects I struggle to find caches on. TFTC
Had mum crawling under the tram to find this one. Luckily it didn’t take her too long, but she looked a bit suspicious. A pretty cool place to sit and relax while out caching. Tftc
After visiting Glenelg to catch up with a friend over a coffee, the partner and I headed out for a walk along the waterfront. We ended up here as I saw there was a cache nearby and couldn't resist having a look. I spent quite a while looking for the cache, and I had actually given up before deciding to have one more look. It then ended up being a straightforward find once I thought about where I would hide it. I was quite pleased with myself. TFTC

Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Cool autumn evening
Cache condition: Good
I was in town for my annual trip to visit the SA-based portion of my team. After a dinner with the team I decided to find a few caches on my way back to the hotel. There was no-one around after 10pm, which was helpful for this cache as it allowed me to search fairly rigorously. After a while I had CIH - phew! TNLNSL, thanks for the cache.

Nice to get a DNF off the books! Found after a group of cachers from a nearby event ascertained that it was indeed missing and a replacement was supplied (with the CO's permission).
not having much luck this morning our second DNF in a row.
Lovely area enjoyed seeing HMS Buffalo and the old tram. But for me there were
just to many areas to search for a tiny cache and two many muggles around so
we admired the tram and then walked away.

Had a quick look for this while we were here for a BBQ. We are well out of practice caching so didn’t really expect to find it. Great spot
Insanely hot today. Took shade under a tree before logging this find. Thanks for the hide.
After searching all over the tram, I eventually managed to find it. Good hide

Went to grab a cache for the day, picked this one as had been trying to do it for awhile. Found cache and was looking for a spot on the log to sign when I saw our team name. Turns out Miss Ness had also found this cache awhile ago but forgot to log it. Now we have both found it and it has been logged

Confirming the cache is still there. We went to check on it since the last log was a Dnf and we were in the area
In Adelaide for a few days, a little to good for us. Great place to stay, trackable visited. Cheers diggers09
We once experience a ride on a Red Rattler.

As we approached GZ our first thought was oh no we will be here for awhile and yep we were right. Had to end up PAF as we struggling to find this sneaky little hide. After the help it wasn't too long before CIH. Awesome little bit of history as well TFTC
Took us a while but we persevered. Didn't know what a buffalo was but reading previous posts helped tftc
Woo hoo, after several previous attempts at finding this TINY cache I finally have my name in the log.
I was thrilled to be there with others who had some intel as it certainly made the task much easier.....
Thanks so much for the cache 3LG!

After attending the Ahoj it's a Boy !!! event I decided to do some more caching around the area.
Grabbed 1/2 the CO for this one and Chrispy89 came too. We all had a go but in the end Chrispy made the tricky find!
Was nice to finally get a find on this one [^]

A few months ago I had an epic fail here. [:(!][:(!]
Today whilst at a nearby event a large gaggle of cachers headed towards the old red rattler. Time to join that queue. But as usual I couldn't just stand back and soon found myself on my back under the old chook. AnyMules joined me and we both had bits of rusty grease falling onto our faces.
What he neglected to say was he had put his fingers on it and passed it out to the masses and left me looking.
Revenge as always will be a so sweet. [B)] Eventually after everybody else got their signature on it, I finally got to put mine. Damn..and of course I had the job of rolling the log back up again and trying to put it back in the lid. Which of course leads directly into the Freddo nano rant: [8]
Ban nanos, burn factories, commit homicides etc etc. Doesn't anybody ever think of the kittens[?]
Thanks 3LG for the cache.

Found at 11:47 with Olga. It's been here before, but wasn't in the mood for searching such a large item for a nano. This time, I was given some pointers at the nearby event. It still took a couple of minutes to find though.

Cache # 1537.
It's a windy Sunday morning, I went to Glenelg to attend a geocaching event "Ahoj it's a Boy!!!" (GC78NWH). Since this cache was close by, I had a try. Fellow cachers (Uni and Medusa) found it first, and I just write my name on the log sheet. Log sheet is full now.
Nano is not easy to find, especially with so many possible hidden spots.
For the topic, I still remember I took this kind of tram to Glenelg, several years ago. Then it's a mix of old and new tram. Then all new trams and no more old style. I like the old one, but maybe the new one is more efficient, comfortable, and safe.
Thanks for the cache, 3LG.

Out for a caching day with bluewrentit, he has done this one before, and decided to 'help' by watching, and hinting, after a shorter than usual hunt for a nano on a train, cache was found and signed.
Joined the throng of caches heading this way from the nearby Ahoy its a boy event.
We had some clues & directions as to where the evil nano was hiding.
Later to find that the direction was incorrect.
Always good to watch the boys, certainly entertaining.
Thanks for the cache 3LG

Checked this one and found it in the first place I looked, cache is still there, just remember not all put a cache back in the exact spot they got it from.
In the area with 2 prior finders and rang a more recent finder in case it had been moved. More likely to be just missing, but searched a bit wider, just in case, with no success.
DNF Spent only about 10 mins looking due to 3 previous DNFs. Loved the old Red Rattler though!
Woo hoo the stars and planets have aligned and myself, Mrs M&M and Andy C. all have the day free to go caching. Andy C had to inspect some properties down the Bay way so we headed down thataway.
Damn you 3LG. Thirty minutes of wriggling on my back and still no cache
Thanks for the search anyway

For the past month or so I've been exploring all that RADalaide has to offer... And while I moved about, I found myself a cache a day to keep the doctor away.
Time has gotten in the way of logging with any kind of expedience, so apologies to any COs reading late and repetitive logs... I really should start logging as I go
Back in Glenelg today I had picked this cache out for today't target... Before moving here I had always known the "historic" tram went to Glenelg beach, but when I first came to Glenelg I was a little more than confused by the not so historic trams I was seeing on the line.... but this cache filled in the gaps in my understanding nicely.
As I approached GZ I read through the cache page again to make sure I knew what to do when I got there and was at first I was again confused.... What the hell is a "Buffalo" around here?! Deciding it was the ship (which I later realised my asssumption was correct) I used it as my reference point, and after quite a bit of a search my hand finally landed on the bugger.... at which point I had to feign more interest in tram parts than I would have ordinarily so that the muggle tourists didn't think I was too weird
Thanks for the find and the history lesson of sorts

Not an easy find because it was so damn small!! Searched the whole train without reading the hint. Finally Geodad said "read the hint". Geomum read the hint and the cache was in hand! Thanks for the cache 3LG!
After a cracker of a day around Glenelg we came here to see if we could add our names to the log. After a muggle soccer dad walked passed we soon had the cache in hand. Tftc
Kenare, Mippy05, Sean.75 and I headed to Glenelg for a day of fun and to see if we could find a few caches. What a cool place for a cache!! Tftc
