Reperio 15:38Day 2 of my little escapade towards Albury for the weekend, and after spending the night at the Henry Angel Flat campground in Tumbarumba, it was up early to tackle the remaining caches along the Hume and Hovell Walking Track. Once back at the car, I made my way towards Albury for a fun weekend of caching and found plenty of caches along the way.Gratias wackyweedosAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
TFTC, took us on a lovely walk in an area of Albury weve never been before! Saw many kangaroos around and many birds! Zach & Jack
I'm guessing this area has changed a lot since it was first hidden. Lots of new houses popping up
Found with geocaching family, staying a few days in the area. Nice hide for a smiley. TFTC
fitzy_1965 and I headed towards Albury/Wodonga last night. We camped at the Ettamogah Pub before joining the rest of our friends in Albury today.A great day was had with us picking up lots of trads, multi's and pre-solved puzzles with the day ending in an event in the heart of Albury and a nice hotel room thanks to a Red Balloon voucher. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.
Day 2 of our Canberra (plus 3) Invasion of Albury. It was a beautiful sunny day as we set out in search of presolved mystery caches as well as any others we could find. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches that enticed us down here. Cache found and log signed as CIA
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and CIA23 cachers on a quick Albury invasion! Thanks wackyweedos!
Day 2 of our Canberra trip to Albury and a few extras in our group today. Signing as CIA for Canberra Invasion of Albury. Tftc
Day 2 of our Albury Trip. For the last few weeks a group of us sat together and solved lots of puzzles for this weekend.Today, SmittenGranny, barb2e, Kittykatch, albida33, FurfacesLL, Joolay, Sol de Lune, LuckyL1On, MinnieK, Fitzy_65, Tankengine, DTY73, Aykayem and me went around Albury and found puzzles, multies, trads, ALs and a virtual etc.To save log space we are signing as CIA (aka Canberra invasion of Albury). The puzzles were all quite interesting, the hides sometimes hard. Sorry for the generic logs. Caching in the group makes logging hard.TFTC
Day 2 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL.Today we started to the north of Albury and headed towards the CBD, grabbing caches on both sides of the freeway as we went. Lots of pre solved puzzles, along with a number of traditionals, were found during the day. Unfortunately we had a few DNF's as well. Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...and the fun we had over the weekend. Logs were signed CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury)...
#18947; Day 2 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend, which had been preceded by much head scratching and puzzle solving to prepare. Our merry band comprised of Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e and isopeda, along with yours truly, were joined by dty, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for a day of action today. Started the day to the north of town and then worked our way south, east and west as we gathered caches. Some finds were difficult as were some of the puzzles and some were easier. Some we didn't find at all! All up 103 finds, one event at the end of the day and nine DNFs for me today. Logs were again signed CIA23. Most of the caches we found were in good order. Apologies for the generic logs, but by the end of the day, like the body, the mind was slowing down as well! Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity. TFTC wackyweedos
we have crossed the border
a few years ago, this crossing would have been accompanied with a jail sentence
for us not breathing in the border bubble, it was a no-go
thankfully, we could make it legally now
as easy as a quick wave to the cops at the checkpoint
we're off to experience new south welsh bush
the trees are starting to look like giant metal sculptures
have we been on the road for too long?
or do they really look like warped iron sculptures?
either way
we're enjoying the scenery
and hoping the new south welsh snakes don’t have a taste for southerner’s flesh

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache wackyweedos

Another cross country ride with logs hidden in the tall grass making it a bit of an adventure.
Thanks wackyweedos.

Good time on the prowl with JTreeTrack2! Accidentally left in my drafts for a few months!
After a couple of days of camping and caching in the Albury Wodonga area, it was the day to head home. Muggle Nephew has now become Simplylookin, and I look forward to caching the Australian Capital Territory with him in the future.
A few caches are to be found in New South Wales before heading South and back home in Victoria, and a cache or two there as well.
The weather wasn't as good as the last couple of days, but that doesn't stop caching. It is amazing how green it is; we have never been in the area when it has been this lush.
The cache is in great condition.

Headed to Albury, for a caching day.
Did a few labs and their finals, and a couple of other caches on our travels.
Started early with a beautiful day, but it got tougher as the temperature rose.
Thanks to all the CO's for a great day out..
A quick find, signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, wackyweedos, for us and others to find.

In the middle of lockdown we struck out for our first geocaching experience. And we found it first try. Two happy campers.
Quick walk through here after work to grab these couple of caches, never new about this little pocket of nature. Lovely walk thanks for bringing me here. Both caches found in good condition.

Thanks Zane3012 for letting us know the logbook was wet. It has now been replaced.
Lovely walk in the bush. The dog Amber saw some kangaroos but she stayed on her lead so was safe from those big buggers!
South NSW trip February 2021. Day 2. Fitzy_1965 joined me for a two day jaunt to Albury and the area to the West north of the River. We covered a lot of ground, but as we have done a lot of caching between home and there it has become the next area to spend caching time. There was a variety of caches scattered around, but the most interesting section was Monday morning spent in the Quatta Reserve, quite a few challenging caches and a wasp sting to remember it by.
Thanks for the cache wackyweedos

23,646. Found during a caching run to break-in albida33's brand new Geomobile.
Day 2 of our trip south. With a brand new Geomobile to test out, albida33 and I headed down the Hume cherry-picking caches filling in many gaps on our maps. After swagging overnight in Corowa, we hit our target for the day - Quat Quatta Reserve. After we finished there, we started the haul home grabbing a few more as we went. Next stop for the day. Parked at the gate and did the warm walk in. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list.
Thanks wackyweedos !!

What a lovely place that we had no idea existed in our home town of Albury. Love geocaching for taking us to new areas. The challenge of COVID is can't go far so working on all the ones around Albury.
Quick find. TFTC

It was a dreary winters day and we had just found a mystery cache close by that we decided to go for the 2 trads nearby, how hard could it be? Well the rain started a slight drizzle but wasn't to bad. Master Lost Wanderer made the find on his own and was so excited!
TFTC... saga continues

Found on a seriously rainy day with a mate and his dog. We ended up cutting back across the paddock to get home as it really started to pour.
Thanks for the cache.

On my way south for the last events of the Oceania Orienteering Champs, I took some time to find a few trads on the eastern side of Hume highway before crossing the border. A pleasant short walk and a quick find. Got swooped by a magpie soon after leaving the car. TFTC.

I had just spent a fair while up on the roof at home cleaning out the gutters and engaging in hand to hand combat with the wisteria that is hell bent on world domination, in readiness for the rain that didn't eventuate, and after all that fun, I decided to go out for a while instead of doing other chores.....
It was a nice stroll to GZ and the cache was spotted quickly for the find and sign.
A nice quiet spot up here today.

It was a family race to the GZ with the smallest geocacher struggling to get up the embankment LOL TFTC
Found while continuing a meander around this little reserve, and after the other hide here.
Enjoyed admiring the textures of the bark and logs in the area. Many signs of human and animal interactions with the timber. Some gums flowering and a few species of native bees, beetles and flies were enjoying their nectar, despite the cool-ish weather.
Thanks again wackyweedos for both creating and maintaining this cache, and encouraging visits to this little woodland.

We are staying nearby at the Lake Hume caravan park and headed out today collecting a few caches and this was one we found. A nice stroll in very dry bushland. TFTC
Took some friends on their first caching trip, a bit of drama with some kangaroos but a fun trip
What a lovely location. Rode a bike from dads to this one along the hume and hovell. Got to corrys road and then oops went the bush way to get to this one via the trig tftc
After a break from geocaching for most of 2017, the XYL and I decided to go searching around our new residence of Thurgoona. The cache was close to one of our regular walks and, with a little off-road excursion, found it without too much effort. We left nothing and took nothing. TFTC.
Enjoying the wander. Ah - a few caches to make the Albury dentist visit really worthwhile! A really lovely tucked away Park and at this time of the evening a gem. TFTC

Quick trip to Albury and for a number of reasons just a one night stay. It was still great to take an early morning walk near to where we were staying and check out a few caches. This was my first of three finds in the area on a chilly but pleasant morning. Tarbit had scoped things out earlier in the week whilst introducing a couple of friends to geocaching so I knew this one was here. After a DNF at the puzzle I headed to this one and as I closed in on GZ I spied a likely target and soon I had the cache in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache wackyweedos.

Get in quick before next door becomes more of Albury's suburbia. Great little spot - easy find - a favourite for finally dragging me out here
6544. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1500. Having found the cache near the track it was time to go bush. The stroll to the dams gave us views of light aircraft both landing and taking off and headed north. The location here was quiet obvious from the rise. SL Tnx wackyweedos
Nice walk this morning before it got too hot. Not far off the road but lots of webbing spiders protecting the area on the way to the hide. Thanks wackyweedos.
Found at 1026. Found at 0825. Last day in the border region so we are on a mopping up mission. Tomorrow we leave for Canberra it should be OK there I think most of the pollies have left for the Christmas break. We decide to tackle this one and it's brother on our mopping up mission today because the were bothering us sitting there in the bush teasing us with their presence. The problem we had before is finding a way in to them. Today we managed to get the car to within 150M's, so I trekked along a newly made vehicle track came across a fence climbed it only to find a sealed road on the other side, crossed it then bush bashed the last 30 or so M's into the GZ and found cache number one. On to the second brother, another 300M walk into the wilderness which proved to be easier than I thought Found it. Now where was the car again. TFTC's

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. We went for a bit of a walk today in an area we had never visited before to collect some caches. Thanks for briging us here. TFTC
A great sunny winters day for a walk..mister 5 happily made the find.. thanks wackyweedos
A spare day saw us in Albury, cleaning up a few caches we had passed by before.
Some really nice walks and bike rides on a very mild day.
The main thing endangered here is the Woodland! The suburbs are not so slowly creeping closer.
The sounds of heavy machinery followed us to GZ.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 10620. The forecast was for a reasonable day so Robmc and I loaded our bikes and headed over the border to find some long-solved puzzles, do some walks to more remote caches, ride to find a few and then back south of the border to grab a few relatively new ones in Wodonga before heading home.
I remember doing some caches up this way at the Mega in Easter 2012 and I was able to drive up Corry's Road right to the top - well dammit not now; it looks like a brand new fence and gate has just been put in. Red and white warning ties were flapping from all the wires. An extra long trudge up the hill and down to GZ and oh dear, such a lot of new development going on here to drive the wildlife away.
We found GZ easily and then continued further into the bush away from the noise to find Hogwallow.
Thanks wackyweedos

Dropping off a trackable in a great patch of bush that is home to a decent mob of kangaroos & a few threatened species. Safe travels as you leap around our great country.
