The actual container is missing and the prickly tree has been removed (so the name doesn't make sense now). I may replace the series with others, but not in the near future.
Tried hard with this but it was hot and sunny and all we could think about were the snakes!
Even with specific clue, we couldn’t find it. I think the close encounter with a lizard (snake?) has scared us out of the long grass
No luck for me this time. Very specific instructions but I just couldn't make the find. Thanks anyway.
We thought the quickest way to do this set of caches was on bike. We parked down the GP end of the track and started the ride up. this one had us going for a bit before we finally spotted it, different spot than we thought with the gps.

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

Out giving L plater draggedalong some hours. This one has suffered with cache creep. Have fixed to a spot using what nature provided. Happy hunting.

*After a morning walk around Cape Woolamai, we set out to tidy up some unfound caches showing on our map before heading home on Friday.*
Third time lucky here for us, the prevailing conditions on the other two times dulling our looking senses, so it was a great relief to fill The Gap with a smiley token on this road.
Thanks tassieexpat for the communication and placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Until I can check it out. Due to commitments, it won't be until mid October. If someone happens to find it between now and then, I'll enable it. Cheers tassieexpat
Made geohubby jump over all the water while i directed lol as you do took a small search but he came up with goods tossed it to me to sign then it was replaced and we set off on our way for the next one tftc
Managed to knock over some caches along this stretch of the road and this one was soon found after a short search.Needed the hint and then still seemed to struggle but soon came up with the goods, thanks tassieexpat for the cache.
Been searching for 15 mins and had to stop due to rain. I notice this spot may be missing? I will try come back another time when i visit Phillip Island again.
I'm so glad we found that. Almost gave up but didn't want to end our Phillip island trip with a dnf
Suscoe found this one today.
Well we missed this one last visit.
Took a good look and there it was.
Thanks to tassieexpat for this hide.
All good at GZ today.

Well, not to let this one beat us, we stopped here today and made the find, but if you look for this one read the hint properly, or it will stump you.
Thanks to tassieexpat for the placement here.

A day out at the Island today and we decided to hit this part of the walk. We resorted to the clue and needed to work out exactly which objects exactly were being referred to. Got there in the end with the cache signed and onto the next one. TFTC.
This one took waaaaay longer than it should have. Even after resorting to the hint, I still poked and prodded, but the only success I had was poking holes in my hands. Plus, I didn't want to disturb (read: go anywhere near) that freakin' HUGE spider web when I couldn't see its owner/inhabitants. TFTC.

Dont know why I did not see this one in first place as I was there so DNF but today

A great day to be out on the island, enjoying the sights and finding a few caches. TFTC
We don't think these hides will be muggled in a hurry. Thank goodness the walking/riding track was deserted this morning, we would have copped some very strange looks as we searched. LOL. #4258 SL at 10.52am TFTC and the hint tassieexpat
Out with Yorsys today collecting a few PI caches. We found the prickly bush (ouch!!) but not the cache. Yorsys found it in a place I had looked but not good enough.

We had a bit of conversation as to which was the prickliest bush to put our back to!
After a few moments, we managed to find the right one, and make the elusive find.
Log given our stamp of approval and everything replaced as found . Onwards to the next one, with the roar of motor bikes around the race circuit in the background!

I gave Boris the instructions and he found it almost straight away. You can be lucky sometimes.

Found with my family - becca85, boo09 & chan02 as well as GemmaSistma & boys on a roadtrip for the school holidays. Sorry for the very tardy logging. TFTC
Found during our super fun roadtrip to Phillip Island with my Team Clarmensma family - becca85, GemmaSistema, neisha07, Adam & Lukey. We found lots of caches and saw lots of different animals- including a penguin in the wild! TFTC!
School holiday time once again which means Team Clarmensma is formed (myself+GemmaSistema+neisha07+boo09+Adam+Luke) and one lucky destination gets to hist us.
This time it was Phillip Island and decided to make a 3 day road-trip of it.
The weather treated us fairly well and we enjoyed the many beautiful views and landscapes that we were taken to. TFTC!

In Philip Island for a few days of caching with becca85 and our geokids - Adam, Luke, neisha07 and boo09. Ooh this one took ages! After getting the hint to work we had a smilie! Many thanks
I thought the cache title may have given me enough to find this one, but I still needed the hint. I am enjoying your hides tassieexpat.
Checked cache and where it should be. Read hint and follow directions if having problems
Found with WeRAmused. We backed up to the bush, turned this way and that, unscrambled the clue, then looked everywhere likely. Not sure if the clue helped or hindered. TFTC
Doing a bit of a drive and grab session on my way to doing some volunteer research work with the penguins down at Summerland. Hmmm, glad my first find for the day went better, couldn't turn this one up no matter which way I faced and how many prickles I ended up with, oh well another time
Very prickly spot but and a few minutes to unscramble the clue we had it TFTC
A nice simple bike ride for the littlest Morcs's and the rest of us athletic types who were recovering from a big long weekend night on the kitchen tiles. I didn't really find this one, as I was too busy drooling over the classic cars that were down for a race around the track. Thanks tassieexpat.
We biked this trail with Vanessa&Aodh and Mark&Kelly. Some of us were still distracted by all the classic cars driving back and forth from the track. However, a quick find by Mark after following Kelly's clear instruction. Tftc
Found it! Another joint grab with Vanessa&Aodh and Morcs4 on our mass migration bike ride towards Cowes. Still heaps of great cars going past but Mark managed to grab this one after Kelly gave him tne word and got his mind back on the job...TFTC...
A disappointing effort on this one today. Looked like it should have been a quick find, but like Kathryn Howard on my last visit to the Island I just couldn't to find it. My phone was mildly erratic, but not so much so that I wasn't working in a reasonably small area. Resorting to the clue didn't help and, as I was hunting in the late afternoon, the angle of the sun wasn't helping either.
Anyway, enough of excuses. Another DNF I'll have to work at expunging on my next trip to PI.
TFTH tassieexpat.

Found by Mary & David at 1610. This one took a little longer, but we found it right where it was supposed to be. Curious cows came up to watch. Our thanks to tassieexpat.
2nd attempt
I am getting frustrated with it as been searched everywhere for half an hour. so I give up and put DNF again

We had this on our site and completed the series this morning and some extra once along the way, there were some clever , some tricky hides. The weather was good to us and got all done incident free. Most enjoyable day. TFTC
Found at 2:37 PM GAFF3.
So many places to search and not much time left.
Thanks tassieexpat.

Down from Canberra for a MEGA geo-getaway geomission
Today's geomission was to head off to Phillip Island to target several Earth caches at low tide and to nab a whole stack of others as well
This one was one of a whole stack I found during my Philip Island geomission. Apologies for the generic logs-I can't remember them all but I enjoyed my day caching and sightseeing!
Thanks for the hide, tassieexpat

Decide to stay in Melbourne instead of returning for the weekend to NZ to be able to attend the Mega Melbourne event. Yorkshirekiwi83 and I teamed up again to enjoy our Sunday on Phillip Island's. We spend the morning collecting some earthcaches and the afternoon biking. The evening I decided to stay longer to experience the cute penguins parade and their young. In all it was a stunning day with perfect company, sunny weather, well done geocaches, good exercise and an awesome scenery. TFTC
Was at the Melbourne event and teamed up with fellow NZer Alpenmilch80 for the weekend, gathering some of the caches on Philip Island, had a limited time as I was flying out later that evening, but had a great time.
We were thinking of walkingt the trail but we saw people passing on hired bikes, OK that was a much better option, google showed onee option in Cowes e-bikes, awesome. This really helped us with the speed in between the caches and meant we got the ones we wanted to and returned the bikes within 4 hours. Most were quick easy finds, but there were a couple of tricky ones in the mix, had a fab time.

Another quick stop for a find on the way back to the hotel with LHE Duo, and this was one gave a little bit of trouble, especially when you find the prickly trees more so then the cache.
So many prickly plants how to find which one is right. But not to worry soon enough had the right one and a cache in hand. We got the log signed and soon moving along on our way, kind of hungry for dinner.

While staying in Frankston (waiting for the Melbourne Mega) we visited our Geodaughter and her partner who were holidaying on the Island from Adelaide.
While her partner attended a 'California Superbike's School' our Geodaughter (Karopi) accompanied us to a few caches during the afternoon.
We added a new log sheet to this one as the old one was full!
Many thanks for the hide tassieexpat[^]

It took us a few minutes and a very thorough search of to find this one, but we got it in the end. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Very sneaky this one, took us a bit to find as we didn't have any hints or the name of the cache. TFTC, found it after a third look. Thanks.
I love the hint. Found nine days before the MotoGP on a cold evening, meaning few people around. Tftc!
