Out and about out the back of Cressy. Stopped by to hunt for this long ago archived cache. Still hanging in there, still viable just a little damp. Not sure about the protocol of logging archived caches, however, I found it, I logged it.. thanks..!!

It was time to head for Hobart with the munchkins, with a few cache stops along the way to break up the drive Wink After taking a few photos of the area, the hunt was on. I looked here and there, then realised where it was. A bit of this and that and then the beasty was in hand. I signed the log and then replaced the cache as it had been found. Not sure why this one was archived??? Seems legit to me!

Thanks for the cache Angus88 Big Grin A fine spot for a cache.

Looking at all the logs not just the now deleted NA log I can only assume that this cache is not compliant with the guidelines as it has been mentioned before by a different finder.

Cache is being archived as a precaution as I cannot allow a non compliant cache to remain active but this may not be a permanent thing if you can prove that cache is compliant with the guidelines.

I suggest you take a photo of the cache in place and talk to your local reviewer, Tchingal, about the issues raised. Cache listing can then be unarchived if there is no guideline problems.

Regards
John

This cache was archived without authority. The cache is not IN a power pole. How does one do that? A number of people have enjoyed this cache without similar comments. Please do not archive.

A fairly quick find on a cold overcast day. Fingernails are not enough! Managed to reel this one in quickly. TFTC

What a great cache! Very sneaky! Love it!

Logsheet was damp so I placed a silicia gel packet in cache to keep dampness at bay.

As we pulled up to park I wasn't sure if we'd find this one as it was getting dark. Nevertheless thought we'd give it a go and luckily team S had seen one like this before and fingernails came in handy! Found at 17:37. SL TFTC angus88

Hi Angus88
Arrived at GZ and was surprised to find the cache in the location that it was. A caching friend had been told to move caches from such sites by the cache publisher - despite that, we enjoyed finding the cache and the views.
There was no snow on the Tiers and still a good flow in the tail race. The cache was in good condition.
Have fished Brumbys down near the ponds with some success.
Sainted this one at 1415hrs.
Thanks for bringing me back to the area and for the cache
Cheers OldSaint.

There was snow on parts of the Western Tiers as we drove towards Cressy. thankfully the rain storms at home had been replaced by clear skies and sunshine although there was a strong and cold wind. There was a very strong flow of water down the tailrace from the Poatina Power Station when we arrived. It has been a long time since we have seen such a strong flow although our visits are infrequent. When we saw the hint we had a short list of possible hide locations and when we looked at the area, our hunches were confirmed. The combination of the hint and accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. There being no other entries in the logbook, we will claim FTF at 10:23. Thanks Angus88 for a cache in a cache-spare area.
