Logs
A bit of off track required but ache found. All very wet but log sheet still sign able. Replaced plastic bag. TFTC
#366.Heat was getting to me approaching this one;The log was not signable. Attached photo of log as proof I found it.TFTC.
I'd been talking to matagouri about doing a walk here for a while now, so when I woke up to a beautiful sunny day, we decided today was the day.The walk was lovely, even with all of those steps. And although it was fairly windy, other than having to hang on to the hat, it wasn't an issue. We decided to do a bit of a diversion to pick up a couple more caches, before doubling back and continuing on with the loop.No problems making the find here, but the log is fairly wet. Still signable though- just! Thanks for putting this here
Great view from this spot! Geocache is very soggy and could use a replacement container. TFTC
Out for some exercise on Colonial Knob. This is as far as I'm going today. Found the cache after a short search, full of water. Tipped out to sign WP log. Returned to hiding spot upside down, see if that helps. Tftc!

Almost walked past this one, but was glad to have remembered, since this was a nice cache location. The cache itself was a bit gross, being filled with gunk, but the paper was still healthy and surprisingly unaffected by its environment.

Thanks CaligulaNZ for placing this cache
It has probably been more than 15years since I last rode up here!! And I wasn't a cacher then... just a muggle mtbiker!
Cache all good thanks to the waterproof log

Many thanks
Many thanks
We emptied the water out of this one and added a piece of waterproof paper as a log as the one in the cache was sodden. Found on our way back down the hill. TFTC
Found on our TA thru-hike. Love the premise of this series! Unfortunately though we weren't really able to sign the log as it was full of water and rust.
Found the cache quickly on my walk up over Colonial Knob today, a great day for a walk. Nice spot to sign the log book in the sun, TFTC
Spotted the hiding spot from afar and cache soon in hand. Log getting a bit damp but still lots of life it.
Successful morning completing a loop over Colonial Knob nabbing a few caches along the way
Legs didnt like the extra little climb but i pushed through. TFTC!

No problems with the find and it was enjoyable to head off away from the track for a short while. I was up in the clouds at this point around the loop track and it was very atmospheric.
The inside of the cache was somewhat damp but the logbook was fine.
Thanks very much for the cache.

thanks for the placement, will need to come down this way more often.

Came a few hundred metres past the top of the new mountain bike trail to grab this. A very exposed spot in the chilling north-westerly, but luckily I could see the hiding spot as I left the road. Grabbed the code even though I have no idea where the other caches in the series are. TFTC.
In Wgtn catching up on family and friends. Sunday to myself so its a walk around Colonial Knob to keep me busy.
Another quick snag and tag. Cheers. But forgot to get the extra info. So another trip here. Yeh.

Spent a good few hours with The Wandering Dragons (doing a maintenance run), BruceWWNZ and TharnTheHulkan today starting from Rangituhi up to Colonial knob and down again to near Farm Road. Some of the areas were pretty treacherous and others were really dry. Thanks for all the caches..Bit of a slog up here but great views from up here.
Cache in good condition. Sat and had a snack and admired the views before heading down. TFTC
I went for a walk up Colonial Knob this afternoon to grab some old ones and new ones. No worries here. TFTC
The weather seemed to be clearing after a rather damp start to the day, so Mrs gonefishing and I thought a stroll up Colonial Knob might be in order. It's quite a while since I came caching up this way, so there was an abundance of caches to find.
Oddly enough, this is the first in this series that I have found, so I had better get a move on and grab the rest as well. Took care to retrieve the extra info.

Wasn't quite sure where the GPS was taking me but when I got there there was only one place to hide anything. Yep. TFTC.
#2604. After a very wet Saturday, cabin fever had set in and I needed to get out for a walk. Still had a few caches to pick up on Colonial Knob so headed off late morning for a nice strenuous uphill climb. The ground was fairly greasy underfoot after the rain. Lovely tall kohekohe and pukatea trees in this reserve. Headed uphill from the track and enjoyed having a seat to sit on as I signed this log. Gathered the code and covered the cache better as it was totally exposed when found. In April I visited a number of the Allied forces and German war graves and memorials near the front lines in Belgium. It was a sobering day seeing the scale of the carnage caused by WW1. Especially as most men disappeared into the mud never to be found again. Thanks for the cache remembering this tragic period in human history.
Found easily enough once I finally got the GZ. An interesting and terrible period of history thats worth remembering so it won't be repeated. TFTC
I came up here for my traditional Xmas afternoon walk and on checking my phone for nearby caches I suddenky remembered my Premium Membership had expired. What to do? There must be some premium caches up here I can't see... So I sat on the hillside with my phone and credit card and renewed it there and then. Isn't technology wonderful! The cache wasn't quite where I was expecting until I spotted the hiding place from the path. TFTC!
Took a short cut at the right point and found the cache quickly. Gathered the code, even though I have no idea what it is for ! TFTC !
Thanks for placing the cache. A quick find and I see it is part of a puzzle so I have a new adventure ahead of me.
A bit of a romp around PSR on a fine Sunday afternoon. Bring on more spring and summer caching weather. Yes please.
Thanks for the history and commemoration. A bit of huff and puff to get to here.
All in order with this one. Straightforward cache find. Signed the log and then safely re-hidden.
TFTC found with my team cacher Sweet P too

Cache # 2,492 - Finally grabbed this WW100 cache that has been tantalising close to my home for so long. Easy find once I got there, and left a TB. Grabbed the code needed. Looking forward to the puzzles when they start to come out. TFTC!
It's ANZAC weekend and decided to complete some of the WW100 series. A big walk up the hill and it was really blowing up top. Thanks for the history of the great war. TFTC
Nice walk with Just-Lookin
Good site for the cache, not much view today as in the clouds!
Had some food and drink here to fuel us up for the next part of the walk.

Another midweek walk up in the hills with tmann421 today.
Lots of cloud cover so we couldn't get to appreciate the views. A great place for a cache and after a re-fuel we continued on up the hill.

Could see from quite some distance where the cache would be.
Quick stroll up the hill, and a find was quickly made.

Pleasant afternoon walk up the hill. This was one of the few caches I haven't done up there. Reasonably straightforward find. #744. TFTC.
Find #2230. Yet another walk up here - did the circuit this time. A very pleasant day but hot climbing. Quick find. SL TFTC
Haven't been up this way for a few years which made a trip up here worthwhile, given all the new caches that have been placed since. Also making good use of a spare day and took advantage of a pleasant but cool day.
After slogging my way uphill it was nice to be on the downward leg, cache found in between passing muggles.

This cache was my focus for today's activities as, due to its nature, I want to complete this series in sequence. It was a bonus for there to be a good number of other caches that had been placed since my last visit to the area.
The cache was easy to find in its very nicely selected hiding spot. TFTC.

#1109 Walked to the top of the hill this afternoon with a muggle friend. She was interested in the hides but not converted. Yet. Found this one on the way back down from the top of the hill. Great spot. TFTC!

WOW, another joint FTF with agcnz, , saw this cache when it was published yesterday and thought that I would leave it till today as I really didn't want try and go up to this walkway in a middle of a rain storm especially in my work clothes.
After having a chat with agcnz last night we set a time to meet up at the parking area, having being up this track a few times and only being up here two days before for another cache it was a bit obvious which route that we were going to take.
After finishing some early morning work at a nearby customer managed to get to the meeting spot with a bit of time to spare, arriving at the car-park on a beautiful Wellington morning, but not sure how long this weather was going to last as the weather forecast was not too promising.
After a bit of huffing and gruffing following the mountain goat on his happy trails we soon made progress and soon made it up to GZ in good time, was quite surprised that the weather was behaving but it was starting to get a bit windier now and I can see the weather was going to close in shortly.
Arriving near GZ, and after checking on Google maps last night it was a bit obvious that the cache was close by, after a small detour we arrived at GZ and managed to find the cache in the first spot that we looked, was wrapped to find a pristine logbook and wrapped to share another joint FTF with agcnz.
Thanks CaligulaNZ for placing another cache up here and definitely thanks for doing so just a day after I was here [B)][xx(], wow that was just coincidences I am sure or was it . Thanks for bringing me back to this lovely walkway that I really do enjoy visiting and placing another cache here, looking forward to the next one in this series. TFTC TNLNSL (8118). Yeetrees FTF craze also decided to visit the cache as well. decided this cache deserved a favourite point as well.

Joint FTF with Yeetrees Decided to head out early in the day for this in order to beat the predicted rain, and met up with Yeetrees at the bottom of the road. A pleasant walk and the cache was a quick find with no problems. Signed log, recorded code, thanks for another in this interesting series.
