Lost the path a couple of times on the walk in, it’s a bit overgrown…maybe this will get sorted with work they are doing building mountain buck tracks. At Gz it took a little time to locate the cache with my GPS wandering about. Found after checking past logs. TFTC Left a koala for the next Geokid to happen along.

24-Aug-22
Can the next people bring replacement ziploc! The one in the cache has a hole but contents still dry!

24-Aug-22
Alas we went off track and the path very overgrown so we abandoned this one. My note is for the other cache in area Smile

16-Jan-22
After finding Big Sting, we - Kungfuchickendingo and I - continued on to this one.
Lots of wild flowers out at the moment. Not many wildlife out today, a few Wrens, Wood pigeons.
Almost lost the track at one point with a creek crossing and slight detour round a fallen tree.
Struggle up the hill, and very hot at this point.
Made it to gz. GPS was reliable.
Found in between 2 large rocks, with stinging nettle surrounding it.
Left a large bear, a Spiderman toy and a couple of little animals.
Took an Elsa toy.

The d/t on this is far too high, maybe a deterrent for some. There is a distinct path to gz from either direction. And find the cache wasn't difficult, just use common sense.

Found it… eventually! Not where you’d think! Veeerrryyy overgrown. Ended up getting scratched up by raspberry vines

Attracted by the d/t rating we picked this up after the oldie nearby. Yikes! Gympie Gympie galore!

Thanks for the cache and taking us here Storkers. Found on our way home (via Bell/Bunya Mountains) from attending the very enjoyable QOGM (Queensland Outback Geo-Muster) 2021 Paroo. Can't wait for QOGM2022 Murweh!

After finding a few more caches in Bell early this morning it was time to head to Bunya Mtns and a few detours along our way with E_Smiley.
After finding "The Big Sting" we ventured on further along and up to find this neat hide. Lovely landscape all along the way, thanks CO for placing.

7/7/21 found with snippyhippy while exploring the Bunyas

Nice. Recent rain means you need long sleeves or pants. All nice and green. Such a shame the western Downs council is putting a mountain bike path through Russell Park. All the pink tape. Land owner told me about it. They are using covid recovery money for it . Should use some to maintain the trails.

That was a tough walk up here from 'Big Sting'. Seems it doesn't matter which direction you go, it's quite an arduous circuit. It took me a little while to locate this well-hidden cache. The area is very overgrown and of course, everything at Bunya has thorns or seeds that want to travel Wink.
Before leaving, I noted the location of Fisher lookout, my location and the fact that it was a rather steep downhill no matter which way I went Sad.
So, after a drink and a biscuit or three, I set off to complete the circuit. As I entered the cool of the tree cover, I almost stepped on a python Surprised. After the obligatory hop, step, jump and loud expletive, I took a photo of it and continued on my way to the sound of distant thunder.
Oh goody, maybe it will rain. That will be nice [:o)].

A hot walk on the last day of spring. Awesome area. TFTC

Eventually found (look for large rocky area) Would definitely recommend this walk for winter!

16-Nov-19
Heading up Mt Mowbullum along the Russell park track, starting at Fisher's lookout & discovering that the "track" we had found to follow was apparently closed (after we'd walked it). It was getting hotter but bearable with sun interspersed with shade amongst the forest, even though very dry. Hot steep climb up to the peak & lookout - lots of flowering cacti were cool (not in temperature...).
Soon found the cache in between the rocks while everyone else admired the hazy view. Took spider, left princess.
Now for the downhill trek to the park where our other car was. We stopped off at the top of the chute on the way. Great morning walk but we struggled with the heat. Off to the village for lunch, then a big rest in the afternoon back at the holiday house, birdwatching, before more fireflies at sunset.

TFTC love this view! Challenging walk for this beauty though! Well worth it in the end

Thank you for the cache and the reason to come back to this spot to find the cache. We love it up here. All safe well and dry with the cache and it’s rather startling guardian.

Rummaged around for a while then read some previous logs and made a quick find.

We huffed and puffed up "Little" Mow - but certainly enjoyed the views from the top - another great location, again probably only found by a few. The cache itself was quickly found and the log book signed while we sat and pondered the fantastic scenery - TFTC.

Out and about in the Bunya Mtn's finding the last 8 caches I have left. Big Grin
All up I hiked very close to 20km. Surprised
Clear sky, very warm temps, and great views west were the name of the game today. [^] Then back to the car for more water and onto the next one. Cool
A not so gentle walk out to this cache from the main picnic area, then onto the nearby one and straight up to the road and the lookout there and finally down the road back to the car made for the longest and toughest walk of the day. Surprised
Unfortunately the waterfall was not flowing as I was hoping for a cool down from the spray. Twisted
Both caches were dry and in good condition. Smile
Thanks for the cache.

The climb is well worth it to find the cache! TFTC

Couldn't find cache this time, must have been close from indicated location. Next time.

A great hike to get to the little Mow Smile
Talk about getting me daily exercise Razz
The scenery along the way is speccy,
but at the top you get to see outside the forest,
and view the distant views Big Grin

On a hazy day the horizon was a blurry flat line.
Maybe the Earth is flat !!?? [:o)]
Nah !! Razz

Otherwise the TV towers on top of Big Mow would be able to be broadcasting telly to Perth Razz

TFTC and stroll.

What an adventure to get here! A bit late in the day to be doing these ones but we persevered and were rewarded for our troubles. No time to search for the other two though.

Oh my legs....they're burning...haha where did my fitness go?! I think its been hiding away like this geocache for nearly a year! A great wander up the hill from a nearby cache, collecting the few around here on a gorgeous sunny Saturday morning. Well actually its just turned noon so i might just catch my breathe and have a drink and bite to eat before continuing. Thanks for placing this cache, it is all in good order and n2iw has our signature in the log too. Smile

Quick easy find. Nice views co ords out by 8m.

TFTC. Beware of stinging nettles around the cache

Out walking with Menstrietash and glad its moving towards autumn as it would have been hard climbing towards GZ on a hot day, would still have liked it to be a bit cooler! a quick find once at GZ and set off down the hill to the next one, had a bit of a moment when I realised the red bellied black snake at the side of the path was not just a shed skin so gave him a while to move on Smile TFTC

We were in the majestic Bunya Mountains for New Years along with a group of friends, celebrating the new year in style! Today we headed out along with catscatscats22 and Captain Terror and this one was next up on the list for us Smile We continued along further from WOW and as we got closer towards GZ, the track became skinnier and a lot less warn then the rest of the trails in the area. The spikey things were poking us as we walked by, however the flowers which were in abundance in the open meadows were a great sight to see! We soon arrived up the top and at GZ, where Gaz soon had the cache in hand, and we added our names to the logbook [^] We shared around the water as it wa s alot hotter than some of us were expecting, but it was still a great day out to be walking around these ancient forests Big Grin Off to grab the next one now Big Grin

In all of the reading I've done about the natural areas and history of the Bunya Mountains I fail to see any distinction between the National Park and Russell Park here. Although, I did have to look harder for a map of the walking trails in Russell Park. With that though, it was decided to go for this walk today and by starting at Fishers Lookout, Gaz of Gaz'n'Kab, Catscatscats22 and I had descended down to WOW for a look at the tadpoles in the creek at Cunjevoi Falls and now ascending back up to this summit.

When back at Fishers Lookout, I could see the big bald to the west and pondered if we'd wind up there on the walk. It looked awfully steep on both sides and in the middle of the day, such things didn't excite me. As it turns out, that is exactly what happened. And despite the tourist advertising of the area being cooler than the plains either side, it is always darned hot when I'm bushwalking around here. However, I'm keen to get around to Chute Number 3 yet, so onwards it is.

The biggest issue was just that this is evidently the path less travelled. It was a bit overgrown, especially as we climbed up the exposed area close to the geocache and there was constant brushing against various pokey plants. The flowers on the way though were varied and pretty, dominated by paper daisies mostly.

By the time we got to the top, I am sure all three of us were pretty sweaty and looking forward to a break. After wending up the slope though, there was precious little shade. Gaz was sent forth to grab the container - all three of us leaving the track is uneccessary - and then the logbook was signed. We sat and looked back up at the road or out at the view to the west and discussed the Flat, far horizons, Bunya Nuts and how hiking in summer is silly. Also, there was a refill of water bottles from my camelback - I don't think any of us expected to get through so much.

From here though, it is mostly downhill all the way to Chute Number 3, which is a welcome change. Still, the plants are prickly and the sun unrelenting until the protection of the rainforest canopy brings relief a little lower down. Thanks, Storkers for this extra geocache along what is an enjoyable walk Smile

Well worth the FP this one is, and the climb up and down. The views thismorning were AWESOME! I found this one after a disappointing trip to the waterfall (not flowing) After a few photos I searched for the cache, signed and replaced. TFTC Storkers!!

Walked to this one after finding "WOW". This was a really nice walk especially when under the shade of the rainforest canopy on a warm day like today. Super views from the lookout. TFTC!

Another weekend caching adventure with Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and TCC, this time we were headed off to the Bunya Mountains. After camping overnight at Dundabah, Swellerfungus and I headed out to grab a couple of caches previously found by Crookedpete. After catching up on their beauty sleep, Crookedpete and TCC joined us on a few walks that they had not already done. A quick car shuffle and a short drive back to the jumping off point and we were off on our way. We were impressed by the quality of the trails but unfortunately we witnessed quite a bit of damage done along the trails from the rampaging wild pigs (would not be the first time on the weekend we passed areas of their destruction). We were careful around GZ to avoid any stinging nettles and soon had the cache to hand. TFTC

This cache was found on a weekend caching adventure with a lot of laughs and some good long walks at the Bunya's with SeffnJarah, SwellerFungus and my son, Tom (TCC).

An earlyish start, saw us knock over Carbines Chute, before heading towards this circuit for a longer walk. Having been WOW'd by the view nearby, it was time to head on up the hill to Little Mow'. About half way up, poor old Tommy's legs ran out of steam. However, he persevered and made it all the caches on this circuit.

Arriving at the top, we had a quick break whilst Fungus and Seff searched for the cache, avoiding the stinging nettle. They found it soon enough.

I enjoyed this 'Lil climb, to this mown bald with a big view. So a favourite point to this one. Many thanks, Storkers

We continued on the loop from the waterfall, across and up, up and up. A great spot with wonderful views. I could just imagine the aborigines of old hunting animals up the hill to some waiting friends. The local pigs seem to have made a fine mess of the ground around here.
Thanks Storkers.

After WOW, we headed off to this cache with dark clouds looming over us.

It was spitting a little, but nothing serious.

After making our way up the hill, Mr Parko retrieved the cache pretty quickly and just then down it pours.

We took cover under the trees, and noticed it was starting to hail Surprised

Very strange for this time of year, that's for sure. We waited it out and then made our way back down the path to see the sun trying to come out.

We headed back to the carpark to find a muggle family enjoying the views.

Thanks for bringing us here Storkers, a lovely part of the world indeed Big Grin

It was definitely not an easy walk for we to get this container but again a wonderful view and so much quiet nature.

Second visit to the Bunyas this week with Eskies5 hoping to turn all the green dots in this area to smileys. There were 5 caches to find between us and 5 walks to get there. Some short , some a little longer. Some down hill and some very great flat walks. One thing they all shared was great views!

Second find for today, turning off the path from the previous cache there was a fair bit of steady up hill walking to get to GZ. Again we searched in the wrong before Eskies5 headed in the right direction. After a short search I found the cache and the spider! Signed the log and returned the cache to its hide. TFTC Storkers

18-Apr-15
After heading all the way down to WOW we continued up to Little Mow, however, due to the low cloud there was no Big View here today. We wandered aimlessly around for a bit before stopping and thinking where the logical spot would be and sure enough a cache was to be found...which we discovered was described in a previous log. Kestal made the extraction and then threw the cache at me when she spied a spider running across the lid. Now to make it back to the car... TFTC Storkers.

Enjoyed the walk and the changes from Bunya forest to gums then giant cacti. Met some bulls on the track. Took some photos of the view so I'll try and load one when I get them organised. Thanks Storkers a favourite from me as this is geocaching just as I like it.

found the little mow treasure, fathers day 7-9-14 bush walk, great fun! thanks Smile

Found at 10.54hrs. Continued on from last cache and headed up the hill. Good views from Little Mow. Took some finding as there were many clues around.
Down hill now and back to the car.
There are pens in this cache but none work properly.

After a dnf a couple of days ago we were keen to give this one another whirl and almost immediately found the cache! TFTC!

16-Jul-14
I had parked at the suggested spot for the attempt on WOW and walked down to find it. I found this one on the way back to the car at 0945. Total walk to the two less than 4klm and I took 80minutes.

Good views from here but i have been up this little hill before. I found the container in the most likely spot to the NE of the steel picket with the yellow hat. My GPSr told me that I was within 3meters of the given co ordinates. The pens in here no longer work. TNLNSL TFTC and the re visit to the views.

Well we knew we were in for a search with the previous log so we easily found gz (the coords in the ftf log were miles away? ). Boars had been having a field day around gz and Geolze went 30m one way and I went the other. After about 3 minds I found cache or in the open in an area of upturned earth.

We returned the cache to gz (with 3m accuracy) according to the original coords. Magnificent views. Left marbles TFTC

**FTF** with stairman1. The temperature was starting to warm up which was good for us. We were being followed by the muggle family and they arrived shortly after us. We had to wait for them to leave before we started our search. We searched high and low but couldn't locate the container. We broadened our search and I went down the hill and stairman1 went up the hill. We weren't travelling all this way not to find it. Eventually I located the container 30 metres away from the original co-ordinates. We signed our names then enjoyed the views. We eventually decided to leave before the wind blew us off the edge. Thanks Storkers.

***FTF*** Found with goldielover, Our main target for today. We left Brissie early this morning to chase this ftf. Took our time getting here. Loved the hike down here. We arrived at GZ and checked out the views. Yes they are magnificent. Now down to business, we have a cache to track down. We searched and searched the gz with no luck. After coming this far we were not going to leave until we had this little sucker. A few muggles turned up and interrupted the search for a while. Now back at it. Re check everything again. Still nothing. Now getting desperate we increased our area, and increased even further. Still nothing. This is getting serious. A little further afield and Goldielover squeals out. She has finally found it. Now feeling pleased with ourselves we had a little break and drink before heading off again. Still a couple more to get while we are in the area.
The cache was found about 30metres from GZ. I think this is where the real difficulty rating came in. Anyway the co-ords that worked better for us were S 27 28.255 and E 152 45.305
