Hi
It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.
While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Abel Tasman NP today! This morning we went to Kaiteriteri for a boat trip all the way north to Totaranui. In the afternoon little walk to some viewpoints with some caches, also a virtual. Also visited the Split Apple, answers to be sent! Favo for the earthcache, the highlight landmark here! Late afternoon we still had a nice walk on the coastal track with some more caches, but also some dnf's. High muggles area here... kids still played in the sea for a while. Now back to Mapua for our first family New Year's Eve dinner ever!!!
a wonderful holiday with 2 friends in NZ - thanks for all the great caches we found here
On our fifth day in Able Tasman National Park we walked from Anchorage Hut to Marahau.
Cache was quickly found, but unfortunatellly logbook is completly wet.

On our fifth day in Able Tasman National Park Feeeeeee and I walked from Anchorage Hut to Marahau.
Took a bit longer to find because it was hidden farther off the track than I expected. Unfortunately both the logbook and the zipbag were drenched and should be replaced. We didn't have proper replacement materials, so we added a smallish paper with our names, but we're not sure how long this will last.
Thanks for this Cache!

Found quickly. I have carried spare log and bags but not small enough for micros. Saturated log, but worthy of the walk. With cab165- TFTC
A moment of peace on the track meant a quick dive off the trail and an easy find. Phew after 2 DNF's, glad to get a smiley. Lovely day for it and the lack of wasps out here is awesome! Cheers
On our round trip through New Zealand we also passed by here. The logbook could be signed after a short search.

Yay! No crowds here today. What a great time to cache the track.
Dipped off the main drag for a quick find, although the log was too wet to sign (I *always* forget to pick up spares before I set out!)
Lovely location .

Visiting New Zealand for three weeks. After hanging around Auckland for a few days it was time to head south! After an early morning flight I looked for a few caches in Nelson and Richmond, then hitchhiked to Abel Tasman National Park for a short walk in the southern part, spent the night camping in Torrent Bay, then back to Marahau and a ride to Kaikoura.

Walking the Abel Tasman walk three days from Totaranui to Kaiteretere in style, staying here and there at lodges along the way, cooked meals, bars, showers and beds; definitely glamping.
Very wet log, too wet to sign. Too photo of log as evidence of find.

I was out on a 4 day walk of the Abel Tasman Track, from Marahau to Wainui. Day 1 was from Marahau to Anchorage and I took a look for this cache along the way. Headed off the track, up to GZ and made a quick find of the cache. TFTC!
Thirteenth find of the day with NZDi. It is Easter weekend and we have decided to take a break. Yesterday we travelled to Motueka in preparation for a day trip on the Abel Tasman track. Today we get picked up from Marahau by shuttle and taken to Kaiteriteri, from there it is on a water taxi to Anchorage and we then make our way back to Marahau, picking up caches along the way. And finally on Sunday we will head back home dropping in at the Mapua Easter Fair on the way.
Yesterday wasn't supposed to be a big caching day, but some bright spark at GCHQ dreamt up the Planetary Pursuit which put paid to that. Fortunately, I have almost 100 solved but unfound puzzles, multis and challenges in the greater Nelson area, so it was time to put them to work. All in all we ended up with 265 Planetary Pursuit Points. None of today's caches were any of the solved puzzles so were only worth 5 points each in most respects, apart from the odd one with more than 10 FPs, so todays tally was not as good.
After getting dropped off at Anchorage Beach this was our eleventh cache on the Abel Tasman proper. We had made a few DNFs on the track before and after here as we had set a self imposed time limit on our finds where minutes looking = Planetary Pursuit points awarded for the cache. As the DNFs were only traditionals they only merited 5 minutes of searching and once that expired, we moved on. We didn't log them as DNFs as we figured they were probably still there, so more like DNLHEs (Did Not Look Hard Enough).
This was a QEF with aa couple of groups passing by as I completed the paperwork. However NZDi was waiting on the track to distract them and I'm sure they didn't notice me. I found this one without reading the hint, so it is only now that while logging, I discover that like the previous finder, it is not located as per the hint. More like off the ground in a notch in the tree. Perhaps a future finder who reads my log would like to return it as per the hint.
This was the last find we made on the track today as the track from here on was like SH1 with no significant gaps between groups of walkers coming from both directions. So rather than compromise the remaining caches, we left them for a future visit.

Another step off the track to find in the logical (dry and safe) place. All good and replaced as found.

The big day has arrived, time to walk on the track for a ways at least, then water-taxi back from Anchorage. Gave ourselves plenty of walking time, despite a fairly late departure which allowed the day to warm up a little for us. We did all the side track walks too and all up walked around 18kms I reckon. Got to Anchorage at around 2.30pm after leaving the Marahau kiosk around 0900, not bad times with lunch down on Observation Beach (lots of up and down to get there)
This weekend is a four day weekend for us, Thursday and Friday on leave as we're going away for a couple of nights to Marahau for mrs capperz's birthday, walk the first part of the Abel Tasman walkway and visit out fellow quiz-team cohorts in their new house. The weather all week had been interesting and yesterday brought on torrential rain and storms for many regions, which continued through the night. The forecast was for clearing conditions and a great day for Friday, which fitted in with our walking plans. On Saturday we visited the split apple rock, marble quarry and came back via Riwaka resurgence, Ruby Bay and 'some' caches - of course.

On a week's walking and caching holiday with trifolia argentea we aimed for 100 caches. Thanks to all cache owners.
We spent a day at Abel Tasman National Park today, did a Kayak tour along the coast and hiked the trail back into town. On our way back we visited multiple Caches. This one was not so easy to find but we got it in the end. Logbook is wet and should be replaced.

With 7yr old grandson needing to run off some energy and always asking if we can go and find some caches we made Kaiteriteri and Marahau our destination today. This is his first walk in the area but I suspect he will ask to return. The track was busier than I have ever seen it on multiple visits so stealth was a priority. Even so we managed to make the find without being detected.
Thank you bumandworker.
Thank you bumandworker.
We were just a short distance from the track but nobody from the almost constant stream of walkers lifted their head so we were unnoticed on our quest. When something looked just a little to coincidental we knew we found the cache and so we did. Thank you bumandworker

I am a very proud mother! He did it!
But it helped a lot to find caches on the way... This was the last one...
We did not manage to find it - maybe we were just too tired...

Some way back from the track than we expected. Took a good half an hour of searching on the part of intrepid Mrs J while Mr G fended off muggles with friendly chat. Log very damp.
during our family NZ tour we found also this cache, great country, cool hides, SL, T4TC
We have been searching for quite a while, but unfortunately without success.

The plan was to hike the Abel Tasman Track, but not the normal way, just backwards. So starting at Totaranui, going to Whariwharangi, to Awaroa, to Anchorage and back to the parking lot. Went great.
Short before the end we could find this easily.
So far seen on this trip: Thailand and New Zealand.

While we haven't had too much issue on GPS with co-ords for any of the other caches found today, this one had us way off (must've been the trees), so after hunting high and low for a while, out came the cellphone and checked on the satellite map - changed our search area and soon had cache in hand.
Not busy at all today. Arrived here close to sunset and had the place all to ourselves. Thanks for the cache!
After missing on the way out to Apple Tree Bay, we found fairly quickly on the way back! tftc
Today we decided to do a day hike through the Abel Tasman. Great chance to find some caches!
Last cache of the day, because it already got dark and we wanted to reach our car. Nice spot on the way.

Down from Auckland for the weekend and our first trip into Abel Tasman, what a beautiful area, did a short afternoon walk on the coastal track and found this cache, thanks for placing
Together with schrek77 I traveled two months through New Zealand and Australia . First we traveled with a camper for 6 weeks the North and South Island of New Zealand . Then we went to Melbourne where we visited the city and the surrounding area . then we went to closing in the north of Australia . During this time we visited several geocaches and were brought to very nice places through this partially . We also had the opportunity to visit some very old caches , which extremely pleased us . We wish to thank Owner for nurture and cherish the caches .

We spent 4 incredibly wonderful weeks in New Zealand for vacation and
had a lot of fun to discover all the marvels of this country.
Day 19 - a lovely day out in the Abel Tasman National Park.
We took a water taxi from Marahau to Bark Bay and hiked back along the coast to Marahau,
which included a short side trip to swim in Cleopatra's pool.
It was an awesome 25 km hike full of scenery and elevation changes.
Besides we still found time for geocaching and picked up quite a few caches on our way.

From 19th February to 20th March Stadibast and I visited New Zealand. Half of the time we made a trip around the North-Island. After a short stay in Auckland we went to: Bay of Islands, Cape Reinga, Rotorua and the Wai-o-Tapu-Thermal Wonderland, the great Taupo-lake… We made a Rafting Tour in the Waitomo-Glowworm-caves or hiked the Tongariro–Alpine-Crossing and, and…
In the second part of our holidays we visited the south island, hiked in the Abel-Tasman-Reserve , went to the Marlborough-Sounds, the Golden Bay, the Oparara-Arch, the Franz-Josef- and Fox-Glaciers, had a great sight on Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman, relaxed at the Wanaka- and Hawea-Lakes,….
New Zealand is a very amazing country and with exceptional natural sites. We are very impressed of these great nature monuments and sights and we are happy that we met so much friendly and helpful people.
On our Walking tour in the Abel-Tasman-Reserve we passed this place.
Greetings from Germany.

To make the most of this hot and sunny day, I started early this morning to go to Kaiteriteri and on to Abel Tasman National Park...
Like on all previous days of my holiday I looked for caches when I stopped at lookouts etc anyway - often there were caches hidden in such spots. But every now and then I also stopped my car when my gps pointed out a cache and it was possible to park nearby.
Although my achilles tendons have been troubling me a bit recently I wanted to walk at least a couple of kilometers of Abel Tasman Coastal Track and and find a few caches along the way. All of them were easy finds and I never had to wait long untill all muggles had passed.
Would have loved to walk further but I guess I'll have to wait for that...
