We spent today caching around the Laidley area. On the way back to Brisbane we detoured via this cache. We remembered seeing similar stone walls in SA many years ago and this one was just as remarkable. It would have been amazing to see it back in the day when it was more erect. The cache was all good.TFTC
Tools some teamwork to open the ca he but we got there. Interesting to see the heritage listed stones. Tftc
Today we decided to cache in Ipswich, but nowhere near the city. We wanted to go to the far flung corners of the local government area to see if there was any gold and we found it at this cache. It was a nice drive up and at one corner we looked out and said we had to come back to enjoy the view on our return. Well that view was overshadowed when we turned around at GZ.It was kind of like we had looked at Medusa because we were set in stone looking out at the view. I think we had found the best part of Ipswich tucked up the end of a dirt road. tftc
Out exploring Minden and Laidley area today and found this cache. What a great piece of history with this wall. It reminded me of the country roads that I drove around when I last visited Ireland. Although thankfully the walls were not on both sides and the road narrow so that only one vehicle could travel at a time. Oh I so enjoy the great roads we have albeit with pot holes. The cache was a quick find. I tipped some water out of the cache so everything was and still soaked. I could not leave the TBs in this cache so have taken to re home. TFTC
This will be seen to asap. If a future finder can report if it dries out in the meantime, please let me know.
Hi. We visited and found cache today. It has been raining and water has entered container. All items wet. Sorry for bad news and thank you for a lovely view and history lesson.
**Found Saturday 04-November-2023 at 17:07 Smiley #2290**Wow, I have slowly just been finding caches, signing logs, logging drafts and simply forgetting about these and never actually logging them. My sincerest apologies to the relevant CO's, especially if I found issues with them and didn't do anything about them.Unfortunately my drafts were also designed to jog my memory about the cache to assist with the logging process. Doesn't work when some of them are over 2 years old. Here comes some generic comments. Once again, I apologise Nice easy find. Dropped many TBs. Which have all been discovered by others to continue their journey throughout their life.Cache logs are either stamped, signed with Rogersclan13 or just RC13 for space. Thanks for the cache **GeoScrubers (Adopted by SaintsMadHouse)** Rogersclan13
Interesting stone wall here. Nice that it has been preserved.Dropped off a trackable TFTC SMH
A quick find at GZ but the beauty of this cache is in the location. Having lived nearby for more than 20 years I had no idea that this existed and even more it was built by people that share my surname! I love geocaching for this very reason - it takes you to new and interesting places. Thankyou for placing and maintaining this cache. A fav point from us.
This geocache recently found it's way onto my to-do list, just in part because it sounded like it's at a historic, interesting feature. And I think now I hoped to find it on my way home from Toowoomba twice, but always been too tired to do anything but get home already! Combined with my vague attempt to get out for a little adventure even when it's not the weekend, I decided on it this afternoon. Though, plenty may argue Friday evening is the weekend! And why not drive an hour each way for a single geocache.
But truly, this turned out to be a delightful couple of hours. I skipped the highway traffic and followed some back roads through Rosewood, and into the sunset before heading up this road. Perhaps the most welcoming road name in all Queensland? And just as I flicked on my headlights, the road turned to dirt. My little hatchback likes a bit of dirt!
Getting near GZ I parked on a convenient little concrete platform and hopped out. I spent a decent bit of time watching the sunset across the vast valley. I love the colours of the sky of a late sunset, and turning the distance ranges purple. Eventually, I remembered I was here for a geocache and followed the phone and matched the hint quickly. Shining my torch about, and not touching any rocks, I couldn't find anything after a few minutes.
A scroll to the last maintenance log has a different hint; "behind tree". I repositioned according to that and quickly had the hefty geocache in hand. No muggles about, and a quick signature in the logbook at 17:45. This is why I love geocaching. There is no other way I'd end up looking at this heritage listed, 150-year-old wall in my vaguely local area without it. And a perfect excuse for an evening drive, chasing the sunset. Thanks for this geocache, GeoScrubers, and the ongoing love, SaintsMadHouse

A day off sees us cruising down to Laidley/Grandchester and surrounds to do some car caching.
Continuing east, we found ourselves here with this interesting bit of history. We pulled up right next to the cache and made a quick find.

26/4/2023 Find #6058
A Wednesday Madness day out today with SaintsMadHouse, we had decided to head over Laidley way and see what we would find, and with our rather delayed start, our first stop was to be at a cabinet makers before beginning any caching.
With business there undertaken, it was time to begin caching. This cache was not far away, and would mark the first cache of the day.
Although SaintsMadHouse couldn’t claim this cache as a find as she has now adopted it, it was her first time here, and we were rather pleased with this “Coul” spot. Some great views, likely the best of the day today considering the weather his most of our other views from us. Loved the character of this wall, an interesting aspect of the landscape, and pleased it is heritage listed to stay here.
The cache was quickly found, without needing to do anything to the wall, and was given a quick freshen up before we headed on our way.
Thanks for the cache GeoScrubers, and for its ongoing maintenance SaintsMadHouse.

I adopted this before I had found it so today we came to check it out. Added a new logbook as the original was dead. Great view from here. Love the fact it is a heritage listed wall. Hint changed to Behind Tree
Today it was a drive around the country towns and areas of Rosewood, Plainlands, Laidley and more. Oh my this area has just boosted along. A huge big shopping centre where it was just an old corner store and a small service station.
Wow this is not just a wall of rock it does have some significance and history. While the council sign is on there maybe they should clean the area a little more. Awesome place to visit, thanks.
I really enjoyed my drive around, collecting a few caches and general sight seeing. I found this one easily, I signed the log and returned all as found. Thanks for the hide, all good with this one.

Found it. Was a challenge unfortunately it was water damaged and we were unable to sign the book. Beautiful view tho
This one had us stumped for a while, the wall was very overrun with weeds and grass, and going by the hint we weren't having much luck and slowly running out of hope. After 1 last look by fellow cachers millikins2020, success! Also not what we were expecting for a medium size cache! Unfortunately this cache has been a little waterlogged and the log is now unuseable.
Didn't have a lot of time on the way home through the area. Viewed the gallery for this one so knew what we were looking for. A lot of overgrowth like most areas at the moment, but still we think we managed to search out the few possible spots (based on the hint) to no avail. Will keep an eye on this one.
My wife and i were on a day trip of the area and took the trip up the country road to this cache. I parked close and headed in for the search and spent way too long looking in the wrong spot before looking elsewhere and then had a DUH! moment when I spotted the cache.
Thanks for showing me this interesting spot. GeoScrubers We loved the views from here as well

Found our way up to The Bluff today. What a beautiful little township. Neat piece of colonial history too. Was tempted to take a rock. Picked up a trackable. TFTC
3rd find out with Peppa for the day and what a lovely spot. So much here for me - history, a beautiful view and bubbles. Decided to leave a Trackable as it was such a perfect find - I’ve always been more than a little fascinated by Dry Stone Walls so this is a great spot for Freedom Dog Tag to start his journey. Please help him on his way and look after him. Photos appreciated️
After visiting Tallagella Cemetery this was the next stop my Friday road trip with PirateLinda...
She may or may not have blown bubbles at this location...
This was a nice place to stop... left Some Filipino coin and Dactyl high flyer Tb to carry on... tftc...

Such a surprising road/track to get to this cache. Had no idea there were so many houses tucked in here. An intriguing piece of history well deserving of a cache. Thanks for bringing us here. Lucky enough to pick up a trackable too that I just noticed is almost at 100,000kms travelled! TFTC
Out on a country drive today and so I found myself wandering along this beautiful country road looking for a wall. Ah, that must be it I thought pulling up along side a 'suspicious pile of rocks'. Crikey! hope it's not under a rock. I wandered along the structure before the GPS had settled properly only to realise I had parked right next to it. Ah, there you are, how did I not see you earlier? Anyway log signed and I added a TB to continue it's travels, After leaving and heading back down the road I was going slowly(luckily), along the dirt road and as I rounded a bend there was a large snake stretched out across the road. Swerved and slid with the car trying to decide if it wanted to go into the side gully not. Luckily it decided no. Love my Subaru. Pulled up and looked back, the snake hadn't moved despite the close call. "Bugger, someone must have hit it already". Got out to take a photo, as I approached it suddenly did an about turn and zipped into the long grass nearby. Was obviously enjoying the sun too much to be bothered by one lousy car. Anyway the point of the story is, it might be winter but the snakes are not hibernating, so be careful out there fellow hikers and wanderers. (P.S.) It was a brown. Thanks GeoScrubbers for the adventure.
IolantheK and I., both half full of head colds, decided to go for a drive.

Both T-Tech and I have a lingering bad cold, and are suffering cabin fever, so today we went for a drive to relieve the boredom, and to collect caches with gemstones for the Mystery at the Museum souvenirs.
Love the drive in this area. The old wall is quite amazing. I was a little worried that the search would be tricky, but it was great to see the container in plain sight, thereby avoiding damage being caused by geocachers [^] TFTC, GeoScrubers.

A nice easy find in a beautiful part of the country and to top it off a beautiful autumn's day.
While signing the log we heard footsteps and got caught out by a couple who were baby sitting their family's dogs. Ended talking for a long time. They may now be converted muggles. All good with this cache. Thanks geoscrubbers

My great great aunt was Elizabeth Coulson. Her children built the stone wall! TFTC on a family pilgrimage Easter Sunday.
Had to bring a friend to Gatton to see her sister, so I had the choice of either listening to the two of them 'cackling' to each other all day, or take my geodog Scruffy out caching ... ummm ... 'What to do ??'
Was getting worried when 1st saw the wall, not another micro hidden inbetween some blind hole or gap .. but no it's a nice easy one [^]

Wow just wow. Left some fairy dust. All is good with cache. Thank you so much for being us here. Amazing
This is a cache I have been meaning to get to and not the intended target for today's "fill the calendar" but due to a previous DNF due to muggle interference I ended up here. What a great little historical spot. I did have an "oh no" moment when I thought I wasn't going to get the lid off but it didn't end in tears...log signed and cache returned as found. Thanks for bringing me here GeoScrubers.
We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.
Now in Rosewood, today we headed out to do a short cache tour before the expected 40degree heat arrived and yet another visit to the local Telstra shop. [:(!]

Very interesting piece of history. I have seen many of these walls in northern Scotland, and the sign here provided a good explanation of why they were not used here. TFTC!
Such an interesting remnant of years gone by and great to see that is being maintained and an information sign available to read about the wall. Thanks so much for bringing us here.
What a great spot for a cache. These rock walls must have taken some work in those day. Nice to see they are still there. Had no problem locating the cache. TFTC
Once again I was out this way training my pigeons, and in need of my daily cache I drove to this one
This geocache is certainly tucked out in the back blocks so to speak, but interesting farming area to come and visit [^]
This dry stone wall here brought back memories for me, as where I'm originally from the early pioneers (my ancestors) also built stone walls around their farms
I'm unsure if those particular walls are heritage listed though, but I think they certainly should be!
Anyhow, the cache hide was found pretty quickly here, so the log book was extracted and dutifully signed and dated. Then everything replaced back as I'd found it in readiness for the next visiting geocacher to come and check out the history here [8d]
Thanks for the interesting Geocache GeoScrubers, and thanks for bringing me here

What a stunning view and precious piece of history! Quick find as the four legged guardians greeted me, followed by a wallaby and native bee . Arhh the serenity. TFTF
Third and finally find for my calendar run from Toowoomba. This one has popped up on my map several times over the last few years but haven't gotten here. Finally enough time to squeeze in just one more! Found this one quickly at this quirky little place. Great hide and TFTC GeoScrubbers
We wondered why we were being bought out on so many side roads but wow that wall was impressive for such an out of town area. Unfortunately the cache was lying out in the open, we tried to rehide better but guess it doesn't get much passing traffic. TFTC
Quick find for us today as it was left in the open, what a great view from this area. TFTC

Today's target area is between Ipswich & Toowoomba.
Let's see if we get some gold on our map in this, so far, unvisited area for us.
We enjoyed the drive out here today, a lovely area indeed!
A nice quick park & grab here as Geo-Mamma spotted it from the Geo-Beast as we drove up.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
All good with the cache.

what a fantastic place! I have never been up here before. Cache is in great condition and the wall is very impressive up close.Took a iron sparrow and left a path tag. Tftc
We're staying at the cottage down the road and just had to come and find this cache. TFTC!
What a fantastic view from up here, the people living near by are sure lucky. The wall must have seen some sights through it's many good years of service, we wonder if the local historical society will ever return it to it's former magnificence. Cache is in good condition . SL TFTC

After Mountain Bike Riding from Mulgowie and across to the back blocks of Rosevale I decided to pick up a few caches along the back roads. Now some days this can be just a few drivebys, some days a nano on a road sign or worse still something in unmentionable places.
This cache however it NOT one of these. This no doubt has to be one of the better caching experiences available. First it is a pleasant country drive along the back roads ( sure beats the highway), second there is even a little bit of history – but wait there is more.
As I started driving up of the main road I was thinking there might be a good view into the surrounding hills (check another box on the caching experience list). Glancing off road as I drove upwards I noticed the views were a little above the ordinary, well made fairly good , no make that sensational.
This is certainly a favourite point from ruzzelz, I could not believe the views, I was a happy cacher this afternoon.

Today we explored Marburg and Rosewood and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. This was one we found on a loop in the area, enjoyed the country roads and picturesque views. What a different, interesting historic spot, made a quick find.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Wow! The view of the mountains is great - so clear today after the rain.
Thanks for the history. Always more interesting when we learn the background of historical cache sites such as this. What hard work it must've been lugging those rocks into place. Without knowing this it's a rather ordinary pile of stones otherwise.
Cache is in great condition.

Lucky the ground was dry as the road was steep soft gravel. Cache was easily located. Wall quite unremarkable looking so thanks for the history lesson and bringing me to a place I would never have ventured into. Cache in good condition.
cache find #2815. Boy oh boy, we made getting to the cache so much harder than it should have been as the GPs was taking us all over the place. We eventually found our way to GZ, just as the sun was setting. Great views. Great wall. very interesting area. Great size cache container. TFTC.
Was out and about in this part of the world, collecting a nearby power trail and picking up caches around Rosewood today. What an interesting piece of history. It made me observe the surroundings a bit more for any further walls. TFTC GeoScrubers
I can't believe that people steal the rocks. [:(!]
I grew up in Scotland and I am very familiar with "dry stane dykes" - aka dry stone walls in the Queen's English. I have even helped build one, and it is quite a skill. Sad to say that maybe some skill was lacking in this one as it is not exactly still standing.
Thanks for the hint that made for a nice quick find. I swapped TBs here.

Nice cache to find, grew up near by and never new the significance of the wall.
An interesting story behind this wall, thanks for the history lesson... [^] Let's hope that all the interest in GZ does not raise any eyebrows with the locals, we don't need the cache being muggles or anyone being bailed up...
I spotted the cache nice and quickly and having parked right on GZ, I tucked myself behind the car for business. All done, I dropped the container back in place, added suitable camo and made my way back down the road.
A good size container given the location. Nice work...
Cheers GeoScrubers.
