I had a lot of fun creating this series, and have fond memories of building and placing them all. From the logs and feedback cachers enjoy their You Yangs outings as much as I do.
With just a single find during 2019 the series has seemingly served its purpose.
Thank you to everyone to found these caches over the past six years.

I reckon This would be an uphill struggle on a bike but Reggie and I quite enjoyed the walk up in the sunshine another crafty hide in this series. Tftc
I had a weekend free so I headed to the You Yangs for some mountain biking and ended up doing some walking and caching. After doing a couple of the more simple routes on the bike, I headed towards the back of the park (at least from where I started) and had a bit of a go at a slightly more difficult route. Somehow I ended up at the extreme tracks and knowing my limits I took the more simple route back and picked up a few caches along the way.
I had cycled past this on the way up, but stopped on the way back down to make the find. Thankfully a more straightforward one here. TFTC

Find # 7439
Found while out on a solo caching day. Plan was to, finally, grab the 2 mystery trails near Lara, as I've had them solved for some time now. And then to head into the YouYangs to grab some smilies around the Great Circle Dr and to finish off caching at an event.
Oh and grab the odd cache thay pops up on the GPSr.
With the stinking heat n gail force winds, it was quite the interesting day. A couple of snakes, lots of lizards, and quite a big fire near Little River to keep an eye on.
All making a memorable solo caching trip, around the area.

After the disappointment at the previous, the search for this one took forever!
Obviously cache blindness was setting in
I bent, I knelt, I prodded, I pushed, I dug ......'til eventually 'How Damn Obvious'
A great hide found at 12.10pm. Time for a snack and a relax and forget about the DNF!
Many thanx to ThePacman

Third day of my caching trip to Victoria. Today I started in Werribee, then on to the You Yangs ( including a parkrun) and back to Melbourne for the main reason off the trip, the parkville event. Again lots of caches, mostly easy, quick and painless. Lots of fun in this region, so a massive thanks to all the cahe owners!

On a most delightful winters day I was out enjoying the You Yangs area in the wonderful company of echidna44 and xambo4u. We met up early for what turned out to be an excellent day of caching and good company. The quality of the caches was outstanding due in no small part to the work that had gone into their construction. I found 38 caches and not a single DNF which was very satisfying. Driving up,was easy but those cyclists were having a struggle. Rather them than me
Thanks The Pacman
Thanks The Pacman
Out today with xambo4u & au.fait, we had a plan to cache in the You Yangs. We did a couple, then decided it would be best to do the 12 km one way circle drive first, as there was an event on for both cyclists and runners along the way.
This one was certainly a struggle for the cyclists.
Brilliant construction once again, thanks ThePacman

Out and about for the day with echidna44 and au.fait to do a You Yang trail. Picked a nice one with a little sun and not much wind. We shared the area with a cycle and running event so the area become very busy. Great to see so many families getting out together. Very suprised the condition of the road we are driving, The ruts seem to be getting bigger. Excellent camo, have seen these before but this one has been extremely well. Thanks for the cache ThePacman
We're out hunting for that last elusive hidden creature. Surely the You Yangs is the place to search?! More great camo! Thanks
Decided today was the day to complete the YYCD series. The weather was beautiful and very little muggle activity, made for a great day of caching up here. Glad l had the AWD as some of the track was pretty rugged in some areas. All caches located and coords very accurate.
Thanks ThePacman for a terrific series.
Managed the uphill struggle then found the sneaky cache. It’s definitely all about the approach.

Late last night (or was it early this morning) I was looking at the map and contemplating whether I wanted to drive to Geelong to pick up a part for my r/c car and then do some geocaching on the way back. My interest was piqued by the You Yangs series and the variety and so a plan was hatched.
Cut to 12:30pm and I have arrived at GZ ready and raring to hunt down the elusive tupperware containers!
8th cache - A nice find, especially after a challenging (no) drive up the hill!

The previous cache was an uphill struggle, not so much this one! The Chief had it in hand quickly. We were out and about today hunting down the final souvenir that had eluded us. Where better to search for a Hidden Creature, than in the YouYangs.
Thanks for placing YYCD #8 - Uphill Struggle so we could find it. Many thanks ThePacman for the caching fun.

The ebie part of calebie we’re out with 2littlecookies to find a few of this series. Polnevdol was there as well but he’d already found them all. TFTC and the series.
This one was very good. We first went to the logical place, couldnt see anything, looked around nearby but then on closer inspection we were right the first time
We had planned to go to Geelong for a day of caching - but a detour on the way to do a nearby cache with high favourite points got us off the highway. With the You Yangs visibile we thought it was time to finish of this series that we had sampled (the first three caches) way back in August 2016. We had been meaning to get back after enjoying the start of the series and so today was the day.
What a fanstastic series with such a great variety of hides, cache types and sizes.
Today the area was buzzing with mountain bikers which I suspect it is most weekends.
We had a fantastic day and managed to see stacks of kangaroos and even one koala! We also had a little scare with the car brakes but we lived to tell the tale.
The quality of these caches and camo is amazing. Thanks ThePacman for putting out and maintaining this fun series for cachers to enjoy. And a fantastic location of course.

We were travelling by shogunmobile today, so the ambulatory struggle here was fairly modest for us. I believe tidder identified the cache while it was positioned right in front of my nose. Nicely camouflaged 'twas. By definition, I guess, given I didn't spot it especially quickly myself. Thanks ThePacman!
Team T.S.B on a mission to complete 2 separate puzzles series, and of course to nail the YYCD PT. A NC in Lara to top things off - All accomplished with one DNF and a few extra hides along the way.
An awesome day indeed with awesome views; hides and mate ship along the way.
Many thx to the CO – nicely executed hides – shall recommend
Apologies for genetic logs

23/01/2018 riding with Team HurriKane on a beautiful summers day. Yes, a harder hill to climb but finding the cache made it worth it
Spotted this one straight away but left it for the 9 year old to 'find'. More clever camo. TFTC
One of the plans for our holidays in the area, was checking out the You Yangs, and when seeing this trail of caches, we thought we would spend the afternoon doing this trail on foot. We started at 1pm and finished just after 5pm, walking 13.6km and found 27 of the 30 caches.
After struggling up the hill in the heat with no tree cover, it was a relief when we could pause to look for this cache. Then seeing the huge amount of butterflies in the area we completely forgot about the hill and just enjoyed the area. Not sure how well the photos have turned out, because the butterflies just would not stop and pose for us.
Thanks for the cache The Pacman

#2802 Enjoying an afternoon ride around this circuit managing to successfully find all YYCD series caches.
"Uphill Struggle" is possibly the most appropriately named cache we have come across in 2,802 finds! Our lack of fitness found out here on our treadlies, but slow and steady eventually got us to gz from the previous hide. Once at gz we were greeted by hundreds of butterflies, it was so pretty. Or were we just hallucinating? Another clever hide was soon located here. SL and a chance to catch our breath before we continued upwards! TFTC ThePacman.

What a fabulous day we had, a beautiful location and an abundance of caching. 9km drive - 5 hours of caching. My family don't usually come with me which makes for many more DNF. We had snacks, enthusiasm, and the day to explore. We even went to a lovely B and B last night, knowing that the You Yangs were ready to explore on a nice day. Mr. Muggle found some sneaky camouflaged hides, Mr. six found some great swaps and Little Miss four loved exploring. A great family day out. Thankyou.
*8 = Nooks and crannies, fits like a glove. Guardian was a bit scary but I believe it had passed on (spider).

Wow, what a day. Down from Melbourne for a days caching showing amandjr the ropes. We found some awesome caches in this series with some hides that I had never seen before and hope to replicate. Overall we found 32 caches for the day with only one DNF. Thanks for the series ThePacman.

Another genius hide from ThePacman. Finally spotted a flash of silver as i was going back to where I began.
When we got here, a family on bikes were genuinely having an uphill struggle. Lol. To explain our "hanging around" I took some photos of the kids, who were climbing on a burnt out stump. It would have carried more credibility as cover if I hadn't had to wait quite so long for the cyclists to creep up that hill, but if what you are doing is essentially boring to observe, the observer tends to stop looking, and they wouldn't have taken much notice. As soon as they got out of earshot a quiet voice said "found it" and my youngest daughter showed me the cache she had been holding, waiting for the family to pass. She put it back afterwards, she's very observant and will grow into a fine cacher. I double checked the logs and it seemed that the location matched previous finds, so I was satisfied that it was correct.

On a mission with the geo-wife today to: 1. get day #241 ticked off the calendar: 2. to move the centroid a little closer to home: and 3. to pick up all the traditional caches on the YYCD trail, with a few bonuses from the Lower Picnic Area.
Like most of the best laid schemes of mice and men, this one 'gang a'gley' . We should have checked the Parks Victoria website before we headed out today. There was a major cycling event, planned to finish by 13:00 (or when completed) and the car park was closed to all vehicles until then. Which meant, a park outside the Park and walk to the Lower Picnic Area, then a drive around the Great Circle Drive. After all the detours to get to the Park and a lot more walking than planned, we basically had a shortened version of the original plan and fewer caches found. Still a good day's caching and an excuse to come back for the others another day, but I think we'll be bringing my car for the next run around the Great Circle Road.
This was the sixth of the YYCD series found today. Found surprisingly quickly as I was walking to an obvious looking spot when I saw something suspicious to the side of my path. Sure enough, it was the cache. Possible the best bit of camo so far.
The cache is in good condition.

Out on a caching trip With Zedaycee and Angelique Anja. This one was tricky. lucky Zedaycee found this one thegps had us all over the place
This one was far more of a struggle then it should have been... Ahh well... After some aimless wandering we soon had it in hand.
Funny, this wasn't much of an uphill struggle as the one in a few more ahead of us. The area was spotted quickly and log book signed quickly, which was very welcomed, considering our circling on the last one.
12:40, 14 Jan 17, Find #139, out for the day caching with OzHockeyChick and jimbo_80, doing the You Yangs and we were on a mission to do this series of caches.
This one had us looking all about and we were all getting different GZ's with our phones so we widened the search area and were about to give up when jimbo said look I found it. Damn we were all soo close to it in the first instance yet not where we thought it was.. TFTC.

We were so close to DNFing this one as we had looked everywhere. But "one last look" paid off. Phew!

OzHockeyChick's four wheeled chariot got us up this hill, so that was nice.
Very tricky, this one. Our GPSs were all pointing us to different directions and bouncing around, I kept being pointed to the main feature here but no cache at all. Eventually I spotted it in a not so obvious place, I don't know how I did it, as the camouflage is so good.

Found this afternoon in a joint caching run with a few other caching teams tackling this well planned and made geocache trail. We had not long finished the Christmas BBQ Event and decided to try and knock these caches off while we were all in the area. We all seemed to gravitate to the main feature but again Happy Feet spotted this one straight away...Yet another well hidden gem, TFTC ThePacman.
Attending the event and cleaning up some caches in the area with Happy pants, omegaman971 and Yoshi Warriors while at the event. Signed logs as DRAG Team. I was furtunate that this This was actually a quick find or we may have been here for a while. Another great container.

In Geelong for the Christmas Events and some caching with Happy pants, Happy Feet 1 & Omegaman1971. We signed logs as DRAG Team.
Following the Christmas BBQ Lunch Event, we set out to do this series. We managed to find all 30 caches. This is one of the better trail series I have done with quality hides, variety and well maintained caches. Thanks ThePacman for an awesome series.

Visiting from QLD with joojoo57 and whilst staying in Lara we thought we'd attempt the You Yangs Circle Drive (YYCD) Series and hoped to complete it before leaving town. As it turned out, it was a beautiful day with clear blue skies and with the great cache description combined with the co-ords being spot on, we managed to nab the whole series within 3.5 hrs.
It was most enjoyable finding all the different crafted caches and the types of camouflage was a great talking point as we went along. Thanks ThePacman for the great effort that went into placing this Series, certainly lots of favorite points from me today - TFTC

Staying in Lara for several days before heading down to the Surf Coast Mega on the weekend. Snickersallan and I decided today was the best to head out to do the You Yang Drive. What a fabulous series taking you around a diverse environment. The variety of caches was amazing and the effort put into the whole series must have been incredible. We only had time for the cricle drive and the nice weather meant it was a lovely drive.
The quality of the caches here were just amazing, you have certainly put a lot of effort into not only the hides but the locations.

Started this series today finding all of the first 14 along with Duffmmm and his family. Was great combining walking and driving to get to these, which were never far off the track. Some awesome cammo was found but all caches were located fairly quickly. Thanks for bringing me here, i enjoyed the scenery, the exercise, the hunt, and appreciate the effort put into these hides. TFTC !
Headed out today with the Geofamily and Ohm3 for some caching in the You Yangs . Began the YYCD series which proved to be great for the family with a combination of driving and walking. Geokid had an awesome time finding these caches along with spotting the odd kangaroo and wallaby. A great array of container types with an odd new type of hide for me here and there. We found the first 13 in the series before we ran out of daylight but are keen to return soon to complete this enjoyable and well maintained series. Thanks for bringing us to these great places and for the great caches!
We have come down to Lara for a family Christmas in July but we had some time to collect some caches as well.
We enjoyed finding these caches while dodging the formicating MTB riders. A struggle indeed - lot of tears here. Not ours, the little kids being yelled at to keep peddling.

Out on a caching adventure with South-West. Our initial plans were foiled, so now we're caching on the fly!
Returning to the You Yangs for the first time in many years, so looking forward to seeing what we can see!
So glad we're in the car and not on the bike- not sure if we would have made it up the hill!
Nice little spot to park and grab- cleverly camo'd cache was spotted quickly, log signed and replaced.

Took advantage of the finer weather to take my NT found trackables out and drop them off. With the Geopups in the car we headed for the You Yangs. This was the last of these I managed in sequence due to a couple of cyclists making their way up this hill... I didn'twantto overtake then stop right in front of them. TNLN. TFTC ThePacman
All I have to say is, the geokids and I were really glad we brought a car for this one rather than a set of mountain bikes. This hill would have made us sad.

I was keen to get out and do caches today... but I'd read about the nearby event 2 hours too late. Had to settle with chipping away at YYCD. Had Geokid 1 with me, who wasn't overly keen (he and I both coming off the back of illnesses). Nonetheless, got a tiny bit of enthusiasm out of him for this one. Thanks Pacman!
Enjoyed our walk to this cache find - good hiding spot as usual. A few muggles on bikes went by as we were walking back to our car.

With 2 events in Geelong we (myself, becca85, neisha07 & Muggle Dad) decided to go along and make the most of our day.
We spent the morning doing the awesome You Yangs series, finsihing just in time to get to te lunch time event. The arvo was spent catching up GemmaSistema & wozzle68 to grab a few challenge caches along the water. Muggle Dad had to climb some trees, was fun!
We finished off our day with a great evening event and one more cache by torchlight with a muggle friend.
A great day, can't wait to come back this way again another day!

A nice quick find here by one of the kids...I think... (Okay I admit, I can't quite remember this one for some reason. I can confidently say the camo was great though!
We (neisha07, boo09 & I) have had this series on our to-do list for a while and with 2 events on in Lara today, we decided that today was the perfect day for it! With a 2 hour drive to get here and a time restraint so we could get to event #1, I had made sure to solve the quick puzzles and the projection multi, loaded the Whereigo and packed the family stamp in preparation.
We talked Muggle husband/Dad into joining us (mainly so he could drive while I navigated, Sshhh!), packed a picnic lunch and set our alarms for 7 for an 8am leave here and 10am start. Yeah right. Anyone who knows me would not be surprised to find out we got to #1 at 10.55am.
We made great time though, completing all 30 and finishing up at 2.10pm including a 15 minute lunch break.
All up this was a brilliant series that we all enjoyed, even muggle Dad for the most part! We started bribing him with treats around about #18.
Huge Thanks to ThePacman for the hard work that has gone into the creation and maintenance of this series.

AutumnCS, kids the mutt and I make up team Autumn. 20 we out for 20 caches on this fine winters day. Nice easy find after failing to do the multi just before it. TFTC.
Find no. 952
Fortunately this was a nice quick find as a group of cycle muggles were close by, but too wrapped up in there conversation to notice us. Another super quality built camo, almost didn't notice it at first, but as they say something didn't look quite right.
