We did phone a friend on this one as our Gps was all over the place. Gotcha. As the weather was good, we took the time to walk a bit of the track and what a spot it was to check out. Tftc
Home from our trip away and getting back into caching. An event in Beaudesert and a challenge to qualify for has brought us to the Scenic Rim.Found and returned. Will the cache outlast it's host.Caching with RoddyC and Imbunda.TFTCache Herbz
Today RoddyC, Hatzofff and I had an early start to cache our way to Beaudesert for an Event then cache after the Event too. Hatzofff was trying to get enough caches in the Scenic Rim for a certain Challenge.Found this cache, signed the log before replacing as found. TFTC
What a popular spot to go for a walk this morning. It was a warm summery day and the shady path was the perfect place to be. We really enjoyed the lovely scenery along the way, particularly the palm groves. We were going well until we paused to find Big Log and the whole thing crashed. Instead of starting all over again, we reached out for some help from a previous finder who kindly provided the numbers we needed. At GZ we were inundated with muggles but that gave us the opportunity to enjoy our surroundings as we waited for the perfect moment to make the find. Thanks Herbz
This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), baby Cottontail and I had planned to spend a night in Tamborine Mountain. On Friday, we walked Palm Grove, The Knoll National Park, had a browse up-down Gallery Walk, and visited a winery. On Saturday, we participated in the local parkrun followed by a walk to Witches Falls Lookout. Overall, we had a terrific trip with great accommodation and excellent hospitality, so a return visit in the future is likely.
Today, upon arriving at Palm Grove, we targeted the [Palm Grove](https://coord.info/GC58GDA) Intercache and used that to walk a complete circuit of the area. We must have been lucky with the weather as it only started to rain after we returned back to the car. After having lunch at Gallery Walk, we scoped out our accommodation and while baby Cottontail had a nap, I visited a few geocaches. The afternoon was then spent visiting Witches Falls Winery (recommended!) followed by a walk in Knoll National Park to Cameron Falls Lookout. The day concluded with a fantastic pizza dinner and beer.
Regarding our hike at Palm Grove, we set out on this walk departing from the trailhead just before 10:00 hr. We walked a total distance of 4.5 km across an elevation of 158 m, with a moving time of 1:10 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/8612342943). Despite that, we ended up getting back to the trailhead at 11:40 hr.
This was the first Intercache that I had done, and I had heard a few stories about these / this one with the problems of exiting and then losing progress. I guess that is why Adventure Labs are good. Subsequently, to have a backup, I had [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) run the Intercache on her phone also, and we progressively followed the circuit around. I actually thought that the platform was reasonably stable, and perhaps I then became complacent, as my reluctance to exit the browser was short-lived, and I started to take more photographs of the scenery, and then access other apps. Alas, the progress from [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) was lost first when we were finding the Big Log, and then when I thought it was mission accomplished, my progress restarted... I think I was at the penultimate waypoint. Distraught, I reached out to the CO and another recent finder, and I soon had a set of coordinates back that I could then complete this mission. My initial search around where I had those didn't yield anything, so a final request for help was sent, and I eventually uncovered the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Herbz for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

This was a most enjoyable walk. This is the second intercache we’ve done and had no trouble with it on this walk. What a pity so many of the info signs along the track are missing. We do like stopping and reading about our surroundings.
We did get a bit ‘lost’ at WP7 - ‘continue on the main right track’ it said…so we did. We took the right track there at the fork but kept getting further and further from the next WP. We were hoping the track would turn back on itself but it didn’t. So back we went and we kept left at the fork this time and the numbers started counting down. Great!
This cache was so very nearly a dnf for us. We believed the final intercache message and searched ‘all over that’. After not finding anything we made our way back to the car, resigned that this cache was missing. As we were leaving Mrs W had a look at the hint. Hmmm… quite different from the final intercache message so we parked the car and went back for another look as per the cache hint. And there it was. Phew!
Log signed. All good here.
Thank you.

The walk was beautiful and enjoyable but I had some technical difficulties as I always seem to with Intercaches. Thankfully a PAF was able to help me out. Thanks for the cache
Day trip up to Mount Tambourine and we chose a lovely day to do some walks. Thanks for the workout for our group and the cache was found after a short search.
Thanks Herbz and a FP given.

Second time I’ve done an intercache. I won’t be daunted by these again. Awesome walk and clear clues. These are my new favourite types. Smashed the walk out in 1 hour including finding all the clues and the final. Great hint in the final intercache post!
Great walk in the forest. Beware of ticks!!!

Find # 21000.
Picked this walk as something close to home and memorable for this milestone.
Enjoyed the rainforest and all the palms, the game worked flawlessly. Extra glad that it has been updated to match changes to the track.
Usually, I try to do something special for my milestones;
For 1000 I attended a 10years event back in 2010.
2000 was nothing special, 3000 was a good D/T combination. 4000 was a field puzzle type of cache.
Number 5000 was one of my best cache finds ever, an urban exploration in an underground WW2 gunpowder factory. Nuber 700o was in Bangkok. Number 10,000 was a cache high up on a bridge that I had been wanting to do for years, called "Deathwish?"
Climbed Beerwah for #18,000. My plan for this year was to har my find #20,00 at GC HQ for the 20 years block party, that did not happen, instead, it was a roadside find in Western Queensland.
And now I have passed 21,000
Thank you Herbz for a fitting memorable cache

This was a fun cache. Very similiar to Wherigo caches.
Ended up making it to the end and finding the cache.
All is good.

Sorry for the late log (15/05/2020) but only found out last night when talking with Snickersallan, that we had found but not logged this cache on 4.11.2018. Now rectified!
After attending a nearby event, a group of us decided that we had enough daylight left to allow us to complete this interchange cache within the two hours as suggested in the description. Our team consisted of RoddyC, hatzofff, echocage1, Team DIEL and armed with six phones that quickly went down to one phone after about an hour. It was very enjoyable walking around to all the waypoints and answering the questions & the scenery was quite stunning including the very tall thin palm trees that were in abundance in one particular location.
The final WP was great with a very good hint provided which made for a very quick find for the group. All good with the cache and a favorite point from me, well done CO.

Did this cache in the company of the RoddyC's, Hatzoff, Snickersallan and team Diel after an event at the gardens and it was lucky for me that I did. Last week my other phone was an early casualty in the battle with solar flares and zombies and had fried it's innards on the excursion to TEOTWAWKI.
We had 6 phones between 5 people and only Mrs RoddyCs made it right through the intercache to the end. Everybody elses had failed by waypoint 3 but the rest of us were able to plug in the new coords at each waypoint to give a metric distance to the next waypoint and make sure we didn't miss the trad on the way.
We found the cache and completed this cache in 2 hours and five minutes. The palm grove was impressive and I always love seeing the big old trees.

Reloaded my prepaid Telstra sim for this walk as I was worried my Vodafone one won't work. So we started with 6 phones. My Telstra was the first to cark it at 1st wp! Not sure if having 2 phones close together did it or maybe the iphone 6 is probably too old for this intercache job? Anyway, at wp3 we spent half an hour already and only 1 phone was working. It didn't worry me as I can admire the forest and the walk much better and I could monitor the distance to the other traditional cache in the area. (Didn't want to do a separate trip for that one ). Glad we could pick it up with this trip.
TFTC Herbz. I've said it before, I'll say it again, I love finding your caches and the adventure that goes with it. It took us 2 hours from start to finish. Glad it was not too wet under the canopy. And extra glad to pick up a stick at the beginning of the trek, my legs are sore but my ankles are intact. I rolled it a couple of times but was able to get my balance.

The sign at "Jenyns Falls Circuit" waypoint has gone missing. So the question requirement here has been removed until we can check it out. You will now be directed to next waypoint without the need to answer a question.
Went out today for a little walk with Fangsoki, Crew153 and Kaibrya - we chose here. A Herbz T less than Mission Impossible Seven, something different in an Intercache, and, well, it sounded nice. So - off we trundled down to Mount Tamborine. Found a spot for Suzee to chill out in, got our bearings and headed off a million feet or whatever. I don't do feet. I have two, no need for any more - this became somewhat of a challenge for me to keep doing divided by threes mentally as we trundled. I think Crew153 was more comfortable than those of us under a hundred years old.
Rightio then, got to the first 'waypoint', at the entrance to the grove area - proves the thing is working ...and off we went into the deep dark ancient forest following ancient imperial measurements on a 2017 era smartphone (or three). It is a very pretty grove - plenty of palms along the way, although at various times the predominant flora changed around. Plenty of downess that entertained the mobsters, but the walk is truly lovely. And quiet. We weren't that early in the morning, but it was some time before we saw another human, and only a few of them really until right near the end.
Zeroed in on our next clue (no worried), and another and here and there we think the clues might be missing - managed to work out all bar one without assistance. It is good to do these electronical gadget caches with a few others because one phone always conks out. Mine managed to get to the end though, we only need one. The tree canopy did play a bit of havoc at times - one particular one had me going bush and leaning over a cliff edge before the phone suddenly said I needed to head back towards the sign where the others were patiently waiting for me to sort my stuff out. Patience and persistence in these moments. Meant we all got to enjoy that specific piece of bushland more than planned.
At some point we realised we were going back up hill again I think a couple of the others were not taken by surprise, but I think I was halfway back up before I realised. The walk is truly gentle, albeit not the same as a suburban cache-and-dash. We got to the point where the cache container was to hand and happily inscribed names therein.
Then all the way back to the car (thankfully not as far as having to fully backtrack the way we came). Suzee happily took us off for ice coffees, cokes and cold waters - and ice cream - to celebrate a wonderful half day out.
Thanks Herbz for entertaining me at this location.

A group assault wit Fangsoki, Pprime and Kaibyra was arranged for today and we hit the mountain in the Suzee.
We started down the track and noticed the large amount of green leaves on the path. One of the storms in the last couple of days must have included some decent size hail.
We worked our way through the waypoints. We starting with 3 active tracking devices and along the way Fangsoki's decided that it wanted him to start again.
We struggled with finding the answers at a number of points and deferred to the CO for the answer at one point and then used some lateral thinking to deduce the correct answers at a couple of others.
the day had started out rather cool at the top of the walk but as we descended the air became still and the humidity increased and we were rather pleased when we started the climb back up the path.
My body was starting to feel the effects of the exertion by the time we arrived at the final location and it was Pprime who managed to locate the cache. We then headed back to the car for a well earned rest and headed back homewards after a strop off at the Curtis Falls Cafe for lunch.
An enjoyable day out with fiends. The type of hike and hunt that I enjoy. Definitely deserves a favourite point from me. Thanks Herbz

Crew 153, Pprime, Kaibyra, were all picked up Mr Pprime in Brisbane and we made our way down to Tamborine especially for this cache.
We started our walk ambling along in the beautiful rainforest. I was thankful for the shady canopy of the forest as it was noticeably hot and sunny today. Then there was a gradual bit of down happening. I'm always wary of this "down" caper - because it means - at some stage - I'm going to be have to be going back "up".
The first few waypoints in the intercache we had no problem. But then we got to one.. and the place for the answer was nowhere to be seen. We looked and spread out. Nada. I put in a call to Mr Herbz who kindly supplied us with the answer. Yeah none of us were going to guess that one
We made our way on. My phone decided it had enough and the browser running the intercache froze Thankfully, Crew 153 and Pprime's phones were still running the intercache okay.
A few more areas.. and then we hit another one where we could not get the answer. Hmmm. Thankfully, Mr Pprime guessed this one. Crew 153's phone nearly froze like mine but came good. We continued on.
The others peeled off to get a cache that I had gotten many moons ago. I didn't complain about having a seat for a while.
At the second last waypoint, Pprime was having problems getting in the "zone". So he traipsed all over the show trying in vain to get his phone the signal it needed. He finally got it, answered the question.. and we were off again.
The walk up was not nearly as bad as I thought. I just plodded on. I didn't need to stop.. just strutted along. Wish I had a walk like this at home. It was then back to the car and to Curtis Falls for lunch.
Seems pretty unlucky two bits of information seemed to be missing for us today. But as always - we were thankful to Mr Herbz for his help.
Oh yeah. We did find a cache somewhere along the way out there. It took a while to find it - but Mr Pprime came up with the goods. It was in good condition. TFTC and for the nice walk, Team Herbz

A bit of déjà vu here but I can’t complain because it is a fantastic part of the world on a beautiful afternoon. I love whereigos and intercaches and this was no exception. Have a FP from me. All good inside the container (a few bonus items added?) so TFTC!
An inadvertent find resulting in our names in the log book under initial confusing circumstances. When we reopened and discovered what we had found it doesn't feel write to log this as a "find" so will leave this here in the hope that one day we can return to the area and complete the walk. TFTC Herbz.
I loved this walk, it is an amazing ecosystem here. I heard lots of different bird species - kookaburras, whipbirds, fruit dove (wompoo) and a cat bird too. There were also quite a few pademelons bouncing around in the undergrowth, and some ancient trees.
The intercache worked for me pretty well although the compass was a bit undecided at some points.
It was quite a struggle retrieving the cache too, it is well hidden in its hidey hole. Log signed and now I can drink my tea that I brought with me.
TFTC! Fave point from me

Awsome, my first mystery cache! Should have bought a back pack with supplies....drinks, food, etc etc
Okay, so this is the second closest mystery cache to where we live but Jarrahtree and I have noticed it time and time again when we have frequented the shops nearby, so today we decided to make it a target cache and hopefully a smilie.
After we started at the parking coordinates, we started this inter-cache pretty successfully. We were able to manage the interactive zones pretty successfully, with walking backwards and forwards at the target zones. The tree cover did make for things to be a little difficult, but we did come out successful.
Today we passed many a walker, mainly elderly folk who were enjoying a morning walk. We started with a nice alcoholic beverage, but we ended up totally sober by the time we finished our 2 hour walk.
Definitely recommend this cache to others. It was awesome to finally start checking out the National Parks in the area after moving to the area a couple months ago.
Thanks Herbz, a favourite point each from Jarrahtree and I ...( I made this her first Mystery cache)

Am here at the bridge, waypoint 6 and my phone reset the intercache... Can anyone help please?! Waaaaah! Lol
Woohoo! Found it!! I was having big crankies about the phone dropping out vut we decided to use the geoforce...and found the geocache! I am very very happy now, as I had chosen this cache for our 100th and thought it was going to slip away unfound. Signed log, took a little something and left a little something too. Thanks so much for this, what a great walk we had.
Day five of our week in Coolangatta and a trip to Mt Tamborine to check put the sites and experiences. Had a great day sampling a few of the things on offer and finished off with a 4km walk through the rain forest. - to compensate for the sampling and a geocache reward at the end.
This was our first Intercache experience and was generally good. The technology worked OK on our Telstra iPhones with only a couple of WPs taking some circling to connect, but all connects were made and answers made. We had a very enjoyable 2 hr walk, just making it back to the final before dusk. A quick find was made of the cache and log signed and we left one of our tagz as well. Overall a positive experience and will look for other caches of this type in the future.
Thanks for the cache Herbz [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry .
This was find # 5 of 6 and 0 today giving us a total cache count of 3260.

My first intercache. I used samsung s6 galaxy. I had trouble with the strangler wp. Had to keep walking backwards and forwards. Got the green light but then the question wouldn't pop up. Got to the last wp and got the green but again the question wouldn't pop up. So had to move around and keep hitting continue. Nice walk.
T-Tech and I are staying at Eagle Heights for the weekend, and this cache was on my hitlist. I was delighted to discover it fitted the bill perfectly for this weekend's souvenir from Groundspeak [^]
It's a lovely spot for a walk, and when we set off about 9.00am it was really cold under the canopy Very glad we had decided to keep the jackets on! We both had the Intercache running on our phones, but T-Tech's managed it much better than mine At every WP his phone connected straightaway, but I had to do a lot of wandering around to get mine to play nicely. I was pleased it continued right through to the final. One of the WPs caused us a little grief as it told us to take the right path there, but that was definitely the wrong way. A couple hundred metres of backtracking brought us back to the intersection and we went the other way to reach the next WP. Had to laugh at where GZ was Lots of fun and a pleasant ramble so have a favourite point. TFTC, Herbz.

Down from Brisbane for the weekend celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary
Decided to get some exercise, a Geocache souvenir, and a couple of caches [^]
IolantheK seemed to be having issues with her phone as at each and every WP she would walk around till she "arrived" and could move to the next stage
All went well and despite a sign we took it on good authority (from the CO) to continue a bit further beyond said sign and collect another cache for our efforts
The cache is dry and in good condition [^]

This cache was one of the primary targets for the Bromance today. It was only my second intercache and my first time walking around Mt Tamborine.
As a result of some dieting and the odd hill climb since Christmas, I have relinquished my position as Chairman of the *Federation* of Fat Bastards (FFB), A nasty chicken parmigiana backed faction of members, admirably led by my bromance buddy, Swellerlump, led the coup that swept me out of office.
The FFB has a strong aversion to exercise. Indeed, this aversion is one of the strongest forces in the world, stronger even than a teenager shirking homework. So, in true FFB style, Swellerlump found all and everything to complain about as we walked around this circuit. If he wasn't whinging about his telecommunication provider or a life threatening ingrown nose hair, he was complaining about this new fangled intercache technology or Seffnlost's considerable inadequacies in both stature and navigation competency. By the end of the hike, Seffnlost and I were both considering performing a tongue *amputation* on Swellerlump to stop his whining.
As we navigated our way around the scenic circuit this morning, the usual bromance banter and heckling persisted. Clues were gathered, the technology cooperated - mostly - and despite Seffnlost's best efforts to take us down the wrong track (perhaps he was trying to secretly trying to get Swollentubbyfungus to do some extra walking?), soon enough we were at the final location. (Should have looked there to start with!). I made the quick find whilst Swellertummyfungus distracted some muggles.
Time for a coffee back on the strip now. Regrettably, the coffee was *frosty* cold - usually this is how I prefer my beer and not coffee.
All this may sound like it was not much fun, when indeed it was another classic laughter filled bromance hike along some easy tracks amongst some magnificent rainforest palms. Many thanks Herbz. Have a favourite point.

I was up at Tamborine Mountain today for a day of caching and was joined by a couple of members of the Federation of Injured, Sickly, Troubled, Ill and Nauseated Geocachers. While I was a picture of rude good health, my usual compatriots in the Bromance were rather under the weather - Snifflefungus still suffering the effects of a recent bout of flu, while the harbourer of the most germs today was Crookedpetriedish. I only wish I had managed to give myself a heavy frosting of Glen20 before I left this morning.
Despite their infirmaries, they had joined me at the bottom of the mountain just before sunrise and made our way up, grabbing some caches along the way. It was a bright sunny morning by the time we arrived in the empty carpark and, after firing up the website, headed off for the walk. While the technology did not necessarily play nicely the whole way around, we managed to navigate our way around the walk to each of the waypoints. With no tracks shown on our GPS we only had one navigational issue with choice of tracks - I guess the righthand track depends on which way you are facing at the time of reading the sign. Despite putting up with their constant snuffling, snorting, coughing and sneezing all morning, they decided not to cut me any slack on this minor error with a torrent of whining and cruel tormenting soon following. I offered to give them each an amputation from the neck down to relieve their suffering but they sadly declined.
Our expedition soon took us to GZ where Crookpete made the find. It was signed and replaced just in time while Swellervirus began chatting to another couple also out for a walk here today. TFTC

Big fan of Herbz Caches, and this one didn't disappoint. This is a great spot for a walk, and a place that I had never heard of before. Being ever so slightly (ahem*) out of hiking form I was grateful for the gentle slopes as a training regime.
Having previously been bitten by the use of Intercache technology I MAY have been a little negative and pessimistic about how this trip was going to turn out. Using the Optus Network gave me even less confidence in a successful outcome, and I MAY have mentioned that once or twice. Even though, in the end, I successfully finished the walk with the program clunkily getting me there, I am still not a fan. I MAY have continued to discuss this for some time after finding the final. Oh well, at least we made it, and thats in no way thanks to the major malfunction of the J.E.F.F. App, which saw a breakdown of the mapping function, and self starting 'whining/mumbling/moping module'. It was decided that we would need to 'punch-in' some new coding when we get home.
Thanks for bringing us here Herbz.

A weekend away with Mrs Gunnie gave me a perfect opportunity to give this cache a crack and I was keen for a gentle walk as well. I started off with a little technical difficulty and as it was my first intercache, I quickly contacted the CO to ensure I was not missing anything.
With all options checked and confirmed, I put it down to a software glitch and was fortunate it only happened at the second stage. From there, it was mostly smooth sailing and I made my way through the waypoints while enjoying the stroll... [^[
All answers gathered and inserted, I had a set of final coords and had to wait out some muggles before moving in for the hunt. As I waited though, I could see the cache so grabbing was easy when the coast was clear. I quickly etched my name in the log, then tucked the container back in place.
Thanks for the exercise and a cache with a difference, it was a great excuse to get out here again.
Cheers Herbz. A favourite for the location and the effort in compiling the cache.

For our trip to QLD Mr TiedyeSmileys did the planning for where we would go and what we would do. Mrs TiedyeSmileys then looked up caches and solved puzzles in the general area.
Mr TiedyeSmileys today plugged in to the GPS the start of a walk he wanted to do.
Mrs TiedyeSmileys said there was just one cache we HAD to do in this area (this one). Turned out that wouldn't be a problem at all as the walk and this cache were the same.
Our second intercache. When the trail kept on going down down down we were just thinking how much back up hiking there was going to be but it turned out not to be a problem at all as it was so gentle back up it was hardly noticeable ( unlike the Adelaide hills back home where the tracks go near vertical).
A scenic walked we really enjoyed (except we blinked and missed the waterfall)
The only problem we had is that both phones at some point froze the page ( you could not scroll the page up to select the continue button, you just saw the photo. Trying all sorts of things didnt work. Once it went off after selecting swedish and the page wanting to translate back to english. The only thing that worked on one phone ( both àndroid on chrome) was to select the big house looking up arrow at the top left next to the address bar that toilet is up a level to the home screen then pushed the back button that freed it up.
Loved the experience

Great fun. Couldn't locate the middle cache in the closed trail near the seat but found the main cache no problem! My daughter and I loved the walk. Thanks!
We SOOOOO loved this. We were looking for a walk to do today to wear off the Easter eggs we ate yesterday!! Found this and set off. Found the first 5 waypoints easily and then missed the one where the track was closed!!! Ended up back at the car! Didn't think it was that far back in - oh how wrong we were!!! Added another 90mins! Probs needed the exercise tho! Now 3.30pm and haven't had lunch yet!!! Great day. Thanks SOOO much for all your work on this cache.
Beautiful morning for a walk, and I've never done a cache like this before, so much fun. I didn't even know you could do it that way. So cool, thank you for the lovely educational walk. I grabbed your other cache along the way as well. Another favourite point from me, TFTC Herbz.
We are in Queensland for a couple of weeks and having a quiet day today. We wanted to do a walk and this cache provided the ideal starting point. We thoroughly enjoyed our cache-guided walk through the park. Hopefully you live nearby as we dropped a pathtag in the container for you. Thanks for putting in the effort to make this cache.
I had been looking to give an Intercache a go for some time and just had not been able to get to one with enough time to give it a try. Today however I was in the area early and decided to take a look.
I loaded up the test and all was well and soon was loading up the first stop. I was off and visited a few WP's all going well, I almost thought I was going to lose reception at one point, but managed to have no problems.
I remembered two spots I had previously visited for caches in here, and quite enjoyed the walk, which end up recorded at 4.6km for me today with a slight detour or two. The whole walk was quite good and except for a couple of spots where I end up getting in the zone a long way before the needed information, but all in all it worked out in the end.
Soon I arrived to the last spot and sure enough the container was not to far away. I got my name on the log and all replaced, before looking for the way to the car.

I visited the mountain the day before and was thinking of trying this cache but the weather Gods were not being very nice. I decided that smartphones and rain probably don't go too well together.
Back again on Sunday arvo and by the time I arrived I knew I would be battling the fading light. I set off at 4pm and grabbed my LED headlamp because I was certain I would need it.
At the first clue and old bloke said "You ain't going to make it around before it gets dark" and his wife assured him that I was young and could do it faster than him. Little did they know that I had technology to deal with. The original plan was to run two different internet browsers on my phone as a fail-safe in case one closed like it had on the last attempt. This ended up causing even more problems as I had three different apps trying to share the location data and at one stage it was telling me I was 9000 miles from the next waypoint.
After half an hour of swearing at my phone it was time to reset it and return to the first clue. Just the one browser running and all the other applications closed did the trick. It was now 4.30pm and I was glad that I had the headlamp. I decided to get a move on and the answers came quick and fast as I made my way around the circuit. I made it past the clue that had caused my troubles last time but came to a bit of a stop at the next clue. The phone kept telling me that I was 86 feet away and I needed to be with 30 feet. I wandered back and forward, up and down and eventually it decided to play nice and let me move onto the next stage. It was definitely dark under the rainforest canopy at this stage but still a bit of a glow on the horizon.
After a bit more of a wander the cache was in hand and the log was signed. Thanks for the cache Team Herbz. Definitely a unique caching experience and a favourite for me. Cheers!!

This cache was quite the long story for us. We were lucky enough to meet the CO's today and there wonderful dog(s?) at a hinterland event during which we were able to finish the final chapter! Great to meet you both and this cache was a blast.
We first visited this cache last year in our early days of caching. We loved the idea and with family close by we thought to tackle this cache. And tackle it we did, diligently following the path and answering the questions in our phone. Until disaster struck. The coverage dropped out two checkpoints from the finish. Ohhh nooo. Now we have to restart! Maybe we can email the CO and see what to do?
The CO was kind enough to reply with a hint to the final location and we put this on the back burner until today when we were again visiting family in the hinterland. Almost six months later we are thrilled to add a smile to this intercache! Thanks for placing this cache in a beautiful part of the world and it was a fantastic experience (just like meeting you today). Favourite from us. Tftc

Today there is an event on Mt Tambourine.
So I left early to find a few caches on the way.
Only a couple of caches to go before the event and this being the last before the event.
I have been into this area for the other cache here but went the direct route so it was great to 'get the tour' this time around. [^]
Once at GZ I could not find the cache and contacted the CO. They mentioned they will bring a new container to the event and I could sign it there before they replace it onsite.
I had no problems with my phone using Telstra.
Thanks for the cache.

There had been some heavy rain on Friday so on my Saturday afternoon visit I found lots of water flowing down the creek and over the little waterfalls. The little pademelons were bouncing around and the birds were fluttering about.
About half way around the technology decided not to co-operate (my fault for having too many apps open on my phone and being distracted by photography) and the browser closed then told me to start from the beginning again. It was starting to get dark and a restart at 5pm wasn't going to end well because the light from my the LEDs in my hat just were not cutting it.
A very enjoyable DNF and I will be back to complete this intercache with a bit more focus on the intercache next time.
I will upload some photos of the waterfalls....... Not much luck photographing the pademelons in the low light but maybe next time.
Thanks for getting me out of the house and into nature. Cheers!

This was a special cache for me. Not only was it my 1500 cache but my 115th puzzle and a new experience for me with an inter cache. I was a bit worried that my phone's battery wouldn't last the distance or that I would fail at some point along the route.
It took me a while to work out what I was doing. I even went back to the start after the first stop as it kept saying start of trail. This added about 600m to my trip but it was worth it so that I could understand how it worked.
I was moving swiftly but came upon a problem and found a help button. It told me to maybe turn of my wifi which I did and that sorted things out......until I then came across something that I had to count. Count I can, but it was rejecting my answer! Is there a trick I thought. After all it is a puzzle. I messaged a friend to ask if there was a trick. My auto check thing was sending her all sorts of codes but the one I wanted to describe where I was. She thought that there wasn't any trick anyway not that she could remember.
In the end I decided to sit and think about what the alternative could be. It was a very simple error on my part. This thing is very specific.
The rainforest through here is wonderful, such large buttresses etc.
I encourage everyone to come and do this as, if I can do it, then I have no doubt that you can too.
My phone lasted the distance.
Thanks so much Herbz for presenting me with something that made for a memorable 1500th cache. A definite favourite.

I'm a fan of intercaches. I'm a fan of Herbz hides. So I was pretty keen to head out and experience this listing. The only issue is I don't own a compatible device, otherwise I would have been all over it soon after publication (I was spending a lot of time up the hill around that time as it was, by chance).
Net88 and I were headed south for a camping trip and I insisted we grab this along the way using her smartphone and Telstra simcard. Our trip down was a little delayed and she convinced me that putting a tent up in daylight was more important than doing this geocache. She makes sense sometimes. So we made sure to stopover on our way back home.
A hurting ankle on Net's behalf made us iffy about it, but we went to the parking co-ordinates 'for a look'. It seemed alright - I even recognised the area from a past geocache hunt. We realised that we a lot of phone battery, but we'd see if we could suss out a waypoint or two, thus left the water in the car, not expecting to be gone long. Well.. you can see how far we got..
We motored along, taking in the magnificent area in here and following the path through a place I'd not fully visited before. I was most in awe of the vastly vast size of some of the trees in the area - some standing, others not so much. The waypoints ticked by, the phone battery held up, the track was relatively easy going and we were enjoying ourselves. We even made a game of trying to guess what the next answer could be.. often to find ourselves hugely incorrect.
Somewhere along the way we both were getting pretty knackered, largely due to not having water, but we were past halfway. I could write a novel on what I saw and the things to see along this walk, but I'll let others find that for themselves. Very close to the end, after a lot of walking and great success, Net's phone gave up. The 'app' just would not continue. Oh.. !@#$%
A quick call to the CO who was lovely enough to give us some help for the last waypoint (missed it by that much!). We took a little bit of a shortcut back to the car and gulped down some water before making for the final. You know it is a proper Herbz geocache when you swear upon learning where the logbook is.
I dashed in to make the find and it seems the local scrub turkey had moved it. All in good condition though and we added our signatures after reading the other log entries. Some photographs were taken as this is my 100th Herbz find! A milestone I was looking forward to for a long time and very happy I achieved it with this geocache! The container was replaced in a suitably hidden fashion and we headed off - slightly exhausted and satisfied. An excellent intercache and a favourite from me! TFTC Herbz

TFTC Herbz
Will I see you at the.. GC4X31B Queensland Geocaching Mega-Event - Stanthorpe 2015!
Captain Terror and I were on our way home after a few days camping and before we drove too far the Captain really wanted to get this cache. He actually wanted to get it on the way down but I convinced him that putting up the tent in daylight was a slightly higher priority of mine.
The day before we had gone for a walk and my ankle had started hurting again after twisting it a few weekends ago so I wasn't sure if I could get around the whole circuit and my phone only have 58% left so we decided that we would just get it started and see how we go.
Neither of us had high hopes of getting past wp2 so we left the water in the car, grabbed the phone and gpsr and headed down the path. I was really enjoying the walk, my ankle was only slightly throbbing and my battery was hardly going down so we continued. At every waypoint the Captain would ask if I was ok. "I'm in pain but I'm good to keep going" ended up being my standard response. You see the Captain was once dragged to a grave after climbing to a wreck for me so I feel like I owed him walk that hurt me
We kept answering the questions and walking, it was such a wonderful place to spend time. At the second last waypoint my phone stopped playing the game! I called the co and he was nice enough to give me the last set of coordinates that I needed.
We got to GZ and the container was found quickly. We signed our names in the logbook and made the trek back to the car for some water. Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Out and about tidying up some fairly local caches. Time for a quick trip up the hill to round up another batch of "new" caches.
The start of this one seemed like a good place to stop for a cuppa. Not too shaby a view from here.
I have been round this walk before. Last time I did it in the opposite direction. Last time the might giant was still majestically standing. So sad to see it gone.
It was a bit wet underfoot today, but no leeches this time.
I had a bit of trouble at each WP, but a bit of walking back and forth got the green light to come up. I had to try a few times at the end of the walk to get GZ to reveal itself. I was a bit worried that the intercache was going to reset itself, but it worked in the end. A nice quick find at GZ thanks.

**FTF** with stairman1 .
I had been watching Herbz new intercache for a while and suggested to stairman1 last night we should head down to Tamborine Mountain in the morning to grab this one. I poked my head outside this morning to see a miserable cold and rainy day. Great day for caching . We said goodbye to geodog and headed down. The traffic was very light and we arrived in an hour and headed off. We had attempted an intercache cache once before and had no trouble so I was quite confident with this one.
With my phone charged to 100% off we went. The walk through the rain forest was quite pleasant. The rain had stopped and there was only a slight wind. We arrived at each waypoint and answered each question with no trouble. My phone was playing nicely and we only had trouble with one of the waypoints being slightly out but a call to the CO confirmed we were in the right spot.
We were 3/4 of the way through when tragedy hit us. My iphone died . No matter what I did I could not bring it back to life [xx(]. The only thing was to go back to the carpark and call it quits.
We headed back to town for a bite to eat and to charge up my phone. Stairman1 and I started chatting and decided we would try to finish this one again.
With 100% charge on my phone we headed off again. The CO was kind enough to lead us back to where my phone had died to continue our journey. . After grabbing the next 2 waypoints tragedy struck again. We had lost phone coverage . We weren't going to be beaten by modern technology so we persevered walking backwards and forwards, standing on one leg and jumping up and down until we finally had enough of service to proceed to the next waypoint . On the way out there were a few branches crashing around us. One dropped quite close to me which gave me a scare .
Eventually we arrived at the final waypoint and another fail. We contacted the CO again and after a correction we got a green tick of approval. We hunted around and located the container. We saw Monkey Maker's name in the log book and read his little story. We were happy to claim the FTF prize by completing the whole challenge 1 1/2 times .
My telco server is Optus and the service in some places were very dodgy but it managed to get us through to the end albeit one hiccup.
Thanks Herbz for a fun and challenging cache. We enjoyed it even though the weather was miserable.

***FTF*** with goldielover. A fairly early morning start for us today. The weather is not too flash, but seeing as this one has still to be found thought it was worth a look. Have already done one of these types of caches so had an idea how it worked. So armed with goldies Iphone, my GPS and wet weather gear we started along the trail. The rain had eased a little but it was still a little cool. Soon warmed up a little as we made our way along past the cool way points gathering and answering questions. A little over half way around the circuit we struck a little snag. We just could not get close enough to gz to get the go ahead to the next stage. We carried along hoping the trail would turn back on itself again as it has a few times already. Unfortunately it never happened. A quick call to the Co had us retracing our steps quite a way. We persevered a little more at the area and further afield before we finally got the go ahead button again. Now to the next stage. Got there and again got the go ahead but had to do a little detour at this point. When it came to carry on goldies phone had lost track of where we were. About now the whole thing shut down. FLAT Battery. Nothing left now except to carry on out and sulk about what has happened.
Sitting having a coffee and snack we recharged the battery. Contacted the Co about one of the issues and had it corrected. We again put our wet weather gear on and headed back to the problem area. All fixed this time and the go ahead was quickly given. A couple more waypoints past befoer we struck problems again. My GPS had us at the correct spot, The Iphone agreed with it, but the Optus network would not play the game. No coverage. We wandered around trying all sorts of things and finally we were in the zone and had just enough coverage to again get the green light. Off we go again cleaning up the final way points and made the GZ. Another little hiccup here which the Co again fixed before we were able to finally complete the Palm Grove Circuit. Our names now in the book along with Monkeymaker who managed the find.
Note. If attempting this one make sure you have a very full battery and shut down all apps. You may need all the battery life you can muster.
Thanks team Herbz for the great adventure. Glad we could help out along the way as well.

After a dismal effort on finding this one with the Intercache website (no coverage from my vodafone network)I retreated to the car park and enjoyed the sun rise instead.
The CO has kindly allow me to log my find. Definitely not the way I wanted to but it happened as you may read one day.
This is a beautiful part of the world and a great place for a walk so please don't let my misfortune deter you from trying it for yourself, even if you have vodafone as your telco.
Thanks Herbz, hopefully I can try this the way it was intended one day.

Nearly two full days and still no FTF log. So last night I charged up my torch with a plan to be here nice and early and hopefully complete it before headed off to work.
I arrived in the carpark gathered my stuff and took off towards the archway at 5:30am. I nearly had a heart attack before I started as there was an elderly gentleman sitting on the bench seat waiting for sun rise. I didn't see him until I was at the bottom of the steps as it was still fairly dark. We said good morning and a few words before I headed in. God knows what he was thinking about me going for a bush walk this early.
Anyway I made my way down the well worn dirt track towards wp1. All the way down I could hear pademelons jumping away in all directions at the presence of a stranger. For such a small animal they sure don't jump lightly. I remember the fallen tree from my last visit, it's still such a shame to see it lying on the ground. It took a few minutes for the web link to zero in on wp1 but eventually I got the green light. Pressed continue to answer the question and the dreaded no internet screen came up, nooooooooooo!!!! I tried everything I could, I even climbed up on the huge trunk holding my phone in the air like a scene out of the lion king but nothing. Birds took to the air from their nests as I shouted "Damn you vodafone". So disappointed. I was looking forwards to trying out this new type of cache. It wasn't until I was about 260m away from wp1 on the way back to the car when my internet kicked in again. Hopefully it's just mine and everyone else can try it out. At least I got to see the sunrise on the return to the car park.
Thanks Herbz

It seems that your service provider may have a say in whether you can do this one or not.
When we hid the cache we used Telstra and had good signal all the way round, but we couldn't check it with other carriers of course. Our apologies Monkey Maker who had issues with Vodaphone....maybe a joint effort with other cachists who have Telstra is in order?
Feedback welcome from anyone with other networks so we can update the cache page accordingly.

Very cool! Unfortunately I'm away on business, will have to get to this when I'm back home. Good one Herbz!
