Phone sorry Sad

So ive been BULLIED into logging my Mega caches by an unnamed SSRAT Of tasmania.
I am useless at logging caches but here it is,
We had a ripping weekend together caching Goose&Egg and SSRST all the way from Tassie.
Its great they come to Australia so often to cache !! Between setting up and showing off my Lab caches and also caching with the ultimate FTF HOUND Hunter999 we got a TON of caches and even more laughs.
Cheers to another Fun MEGA.
Sorry for generic 'blahh' logs but its a while ago.

Two DNFs in a row now! There weren't many spots along the fence that are wheelchair accessible so I was able to eliminate many places, but I didn't even see a space where a bison tube could be.

Melbourne Day 3: Maribyrnong Trail and Museum Precinct

Day 3 started off a little soggy, with passing showers and gloomy skies. Still, I pressed on and cycled from the heart of the city to the mouth of the Maribyrnong and rose upriver as far as I could, collecting caches, most of which are solved Parkville Puzzles. Had lunch by the river and took the train back to the CBD, where I cycled a little more to pick up the last few for the day. Another productive day all round, and thanks for all the caches.

The following is the specific log for each cache:
What a nice leafy neighbourhood this is. I really like all the nice townhouses and the greenery all around. The cache was spotted easily and grabbed dispute a muggle who was sitting at a nearby bench. TFTC!

Find number 4476. Day 6 of my trip to Melbourne. Today was a walkabout. I caught the 57 tram to the end of the line. Then it was a walk back along the Maribyrmong River collecting caches along the way. Home at 4.30 pm. A long walk and 34 caches found. Time for a rest and as I sat in the shade have a drink I checked my phone to find a cache 4 m away. So while the couple sunbathing were looking in the other direction I was able to grab and sign. What a cool little patch of lawn. Thank you for the placement.

Time for another adventure to attend the MEGA in Parkville VIC. Plans were made with Rapidlywild to work on all the puzzles around the area before the trip and head down to this event together. Lots of fun was had collecting all types of caches over the long weekend/week which included puzzles, multi's, earth caches, labs, letterboxes, trads and even a couple of virtuals for good measure, (think we may have to invest in an e-bike).

Found and signed this one along our journey of many others.

Thanks for the cache sharkiefan and thanks Rapidlywild for the giggles and another great adventure.
Sorry for the generic logs

Well its MEGA time again and plans were put in place with the FurfacesLL ladies for another weekend of fun and trouble Razz Had the company of one of the ladies just for the weekend however was lucky enough to have the company of FFLL#1 for the drive down, across the weekend, as well as a week in and around the Gippsland area. We attended a number of events, visited a number of Earthcaches, virtuals and a nice number of caches. Many challenges collected and many multis completed.

A nice easy find here, signed and replaced.

Thanks for the cache hide sharkiefan and the ladies of FurfacesLL for another great caching adventure away from home Big Grin

Found on 18 Nov 2018 at 10:38 am.
When these were first published on a long weekend I had a few solved straight away but I didn't bother coming for FTF hunts because I was basically too lazy and i had to pay tolls to get here. I then finalised a few more at a puzzle solving event as well so at least we had a fair few to go and search for.
Today on the bikes Fleabag- and I cruised around for nearly 3 hours and met a couple of other teams along the way. Longest search was probably a couple of minutes at one of the caches, otherwise no DNF's and we also picked up 3 I hadn't solved just by guessing where they would be based on the hints. Love it when that happens. We also picked up a few trads that were along the way.
We then headed back to Mega HQ for some lunch and headed off.
Thanks sharkiefan for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

We were absolutely LOOOOOVING the ride down the Stockman’s Trail from Racecourse Road down to the Maribyrnong River. I honestly felt like I was cycling through a pretty suburb in Paris. Discovering unknown areas like this is one of my favourite things....usually it happens in other countries, so I was delighted to be brought to a place like this in the city I live in!
We arrived at this pretty park to find the owner of the most amazing house nearby busily tending her garden. “Are you looking for the little thingy?” she asked, and then delighted in playing a quick game of “Hotter, Colder” with us. We didn’t need her help but thought it was cute that she seemed so keen to be a part of our game.
Thanks for bringing us here. I aspire to live in that lady’s house when she moves on!!

16,945. Found during the Parkville Mega trip down south with minniek.

Its Mega time ! After knocking off a fun bunch of Lab caches we headed out for some more caching fun. We had solved a bunch of the Parkville puzzles so we decided to grab a few of them, plus any bonus caches along the way. Managed a park right near this one and made a quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and after a lunch break for the tribe we hit the road to the next one.

Thanks sharkiefan !!

Road trip to Melbourne for the Parkville Mega with fitzy_1965 and my 4 geokids, B0tmun, Lovetherabbitohs, death killer & my_name_jeff_1. Had sneakysquirrel3326 with us for the afternoon as well.

Day 2 saw us doing the lab caches then head off to find some of the new puzzle caches we had pre-solved.

A quick find then a stop for lunch in the park. What a gorgeous little area.

The first day of the Melbourne Parkville Mega event with the Godfather Freddo and gridge98, and we spent the day finding a few caches by car, learning about the SA Millicent 2020 Mega event, and then riding around the various river and rail bike trails collecting the Parkville caches. We ended the day by checking in to the Mega event, performing some lab caches, before having a nice cooked BBQ.

This community square was really nice with a cool centre piece sculpture. We were hunting for about 5 min until we made the find. Thanks!

In town for the MEGA and thought we would spend the day collecting caches along this trail, headed out on the train with our bikes 20kms ahead and many hides along the way. Two flat tyres and a couple of DNF's many, many muggles that snuck up very quickly.

Nice area to cache in. The plant around has died off a little leaving it exposed.

Apologies for the generic log below:

Away for the weekend with Freddo and Davidwazza to the Parkville Mega.
My first mega that I had attended and I had a really enjoyable time.
Some of the log books were signed with my name others were signed with just a G part of the group name, a combination of KBJGD.
We were happily joined by KB who was a machine finding a lot of the caches.
Thanks to the CO for all the placement of caches, the earyh caches answers will be sent in the coming days also.
We were very successful in finding majority of caches but some we DNF.

My good Mate Roostaman was down from Wagga Wagga for the Mega and staying at My place, A plan was hatched to meet up with Ski Pair and ride some of the trails today, Roostaman left us for dead with his new electric bike. We enjoyed the ride with some great hides found. Many hours went in to solving all the puzzles for the event. Thanks sharkiefan for the cache.

The Melbourne Mega has been and gone so now the hardest part for me is to log all these great caches that we have found over the past six days. We have had six days of full on caching which started with a few high D/T caches in Ballarat using kayaks, ladders, etc the assault started last Wednesday 14th November 18 but not without a few mishaps that included a tree fall, a number of bike mishaps and numerous bloodletting. Some of us look like the walking wounded but you just have to keep soldering on as there is always another cache to be found. I also have to include the stiff legs from all the kilometres walked.
Most logs were signed BABS which stands for brisal5, AnyMules, Bushfire and S.A Sewer Rats to save space in all the log books. This will a generic log owing to the huge number of caches to be logged so I would like to thank all cache owners for the time and effort it takes to place these caches and also for the maintenance of the said caches.
Again thanks to all the cache owners that helped to make the 2018 Melbourne Mega the great success that it was, so now to look forward to St. Arnaud next year where you will be blown away with the quality of the hides.
Save up your favourite points as you will use heaps in this area.
After the event we went for a long walk in the area and this guy was one that we passed.

I was over here for the Parkville MEGA with Brisal5, Anymules and Bushfire.
This was an epic trip, of 12 days and 10 nights.

Day 4 of our epic 12 day / 10 night trek to the Parkville Mega in Melbourne. Razz
The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire once in Melbourne. Cool So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space.
Time to test out the bikes we brought with us and ride the Moonee Ponds creek trail. Razz Then it was of to the Bowls event and then off for a walk around the area. Red Face We were joined by our new friend the delightful winged _kat. [8)]

Pretty easy to spot this one. Smile How does it stay here. Surprised

**Thanks sharkiefan for this cache. ** Big Grin

Another quick find and we were soon adding our names to the log, spotted the oddest thing looking down on us too.

What a great, no in fact a MEGA weekend!

Myself and gooseandegg had booked our accommodation and flights from Hobart many many moons ago and we both have spend late nights solving puzzles in readiness for the trip, a couple of days before we fly we still had no real plan other than having fun and catching up with cachers, but we got our stuff together and were as ready as we would ever be.

Leaving work early on the Thursday to get our flight we landed in time to grab a few caches before heading to the hotel to check in.

We were pleased it wasn't too hot on the Friday since we had a big bike ride planned thanks to Toolman we had bikes and a second car so we could leave one at each end of our planned route but this locked us into a ride from Paso Vale to Avondale Heights, with side trips to grab extra caches we signed most of the logs as "Team GTS' of "GTS" and must have covered 25Kms? By the end it was showing so we missed the last few so we could get to the bowls event as we were all starving hungry .... well this was where our plans went down the tube, all the ideas of having a nice sit down meal with fellow caches were off and it was only a chance meeting with some cachers we know that made us all fill a car and head off to a place we had passed on Racecourse Road while on our bike ride.
But as it turned out it was a great evening with 5 of us Tasmanian cachers on one table (unbeknownst to us some other cachers we know were in a another room) a great feed of streaks all round.

After a few caches on the way to the hotel it was sleep then up in the morning to head over to Parkville for a main event, we spent a far bit of time doing the labs and some local caches and the 2020 event before heading out to find a few more puzzles and challengers, this was cut short when the TOOLMAN got a call that one of his lab caches had been damaged so we rushed back via Bunnings so we could help fix it up.
The evening was spent grabbing a few more caches with us getting to sleep after 1am due to solving a couple of puzzles.
Sunday we spent a bit of time at the main site catching up with fellow caches before we were joined by 999Hunter and we set off to grab a few caches we missed on Friday, it turned out Hunter had the same unfound caches as us three so it worked out very well, we got back to the Mega site just in time for the closing event and then the loooong wait for a pork sandwich, every Mega I have been to it's been the same, next Mega I'm taking a cut lunch.
After a bit of a relax and more catching up we ended up doing a local tree climb on the spur of the moment since someone had a ladder to get us started after that we said our goodbyes and headed to the airport, we got home not long before midnight.
Thanks for a great Mega.

Like quite a few others no doubt we took the time and break from the Parkville caches to find this one. Thanks sharkiefan

A long weekend escape from the Apple Isle had stainless steel rat and I hooking up with 1tooman on Friday to ride the Mooney Ponds Creek Trail, then out along the Maribyrnong River all the way to Avondale Heights finding as many of the Parkville puzzle and challenge caches (thanks sharkifan) as we could, along with some of the traditionals, a couple of multi caches, and some ‘ring ins’ (that had been there longer) as we passed by their hiding places. We rode from just before 9am through to 6.45pm with a very short stop for a ‘dirty bird’ lunch, and then headed off to the bowls event.
It was a big day riding with lots and lot of laughs, around eighty finds, a few catch ups with other geocachers along the way, and a very sore ‘you know what’ Red Face

Thanks sharkiefan for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Our third cache tonight - Bunadoorian and I decided to walk around the area after the Barefoot Bowling Event for the Mega Event. Bunadoorian found it easily and while retrieving we saw Little Blue Wren and Aussie Fun Seakers coming towards us. I had been having trouble with my new phone as it didn't like this cache for some reason. TFTC sharkiefan. It was so nice to see how well this estate has been set out with so many lovely little parks when they redeveloped the old Newmarket saleyards and abattoirs.

I had no real plan for today, other than to head in towards the city with my bike and grab a few more of the Parkville series. The meandered along the bike paths, was very enjoyable but I have a very sore backside and knees, by the end of the day. It was also good to run into a few other caching teams along the way.

Parked nearby and after unloading the bike, rode in and make a quick find., with a little help from a lady, who obviously knew where it was.

Thanks sharkiefan for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

We were in our car and the group of five we’d caught up with at the last cache walked. They beat us the 150 or so metres to this cache. It is surprising this cache is so easy to find and visible to those who care to look. It was found in the dark with Team BABS and a cacher from Hobart. A great and friendly team.

So I had just finished exams the day prior, and Sinornithosaurus and I had planned to tackle some of the Parkville area caches before the MEGA event on Saturday, but probably not Sunday because its my birthday Smile) We stopped for coffee and were on our way to find some caches and spend some time outside, even though the weather wasn't in our favour... We found some awesome caches, thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches for us to find and enjoy Smile) Visited some trackables, #468

After driving to another location, we soon arrived at GZ, and after waiting out a few muggles we found this surprisingly obvious geocache right in plain sight, not to say we didn't have fun with the search!! thanks for the cache as always Smile

Prob needs a new log due to extra traffic about to come through this way soon. Sorry I was a bit behind in time, and didn’t correct this .

We headed down to the big smoke to tackle some of the Parkville hides we had worked so hard to solve and help out with a maintenance run - not that many of them needed anything.
We jumped on the bikes and headed off on the trail - they sure made it easy.

Loved this area, we spent quite a bit of time pottering about in here.
Thanks for a terrific weekend sharkiefan

Catching up on late logs

Just having come home from the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster we did not want to waste such a good day typing logs so we decided after weeks of work with our little puzzle group we should head out this way and find some of these puzzles as well as some of the traditional's

We did a bit of driving and a lot of walking but had a find at each one of various different sorts which made for a very good day.

This one popped up on the radar as we re going from puzzle to puzzle and of course we weren't going to pass it by with out stopping to look for the cache which was found quickly and our name was added to the log as the area was muggle free today.

Thanks sharkiefan for the cache.

Today while my wife was in the city doing sport, my daughter and I decided we would go caching and collect as many of the Parkville Puzzle caches as we could and any extras in the area. Today was her first real caching day, of signing the log as herself.

Lovely area here that had a lot of people when we arrived but they all soon left and allowed us to search in peace. Didn't take us too long. I am actually surprised that it seems to be out in the open so much, but with the setup, that must be the correct location. Signed and returned as found.

Thanks for the cache Sharkie Fan

The last few week we have been working with a few like minded people working through all of the Parkville Puzzles and with today being a free day Ausfox; and myself decided to make the journey up and grab a few to turn the hard work into smileys.
What was meant to be an easy and relaxing day turned into a massive amount of walking. Luckily it was tame terrain for the most of it with load of kilometers covered for our finds.
Between some puzzles we found a little time to stop in here and also grab this little fella.
What a busy little place with people coming from all direction make it challenging to grab the prize. With a slight break I took my opportunity allowing me to get my name in the log book but had the same delays before I could return it to it hiding place.
Thank you sharkiefan for the hide

The second of three finds in a lunchtime circuit from/to Kensington station.

This was a fast find due to spot-on co-ords, and despite the glorious weather there were no muggles about to make searching/retrieving complicated.

Signed the log, visited a trackable. Thanks for the cache, sharkiefan.

We found this cache today at 1:00pm as number 1 of 13 on our Parkville Pathways Tour I. We thought that the first sunny weekend day in quite a while was reason enough to head out to make a start on the Parkville Series' of caches, first of what will no doubt be many trips over here. Started with a trad in the local area in a park that we have geocached in once before, back in 2011. Looked for the wrong type of container for a while before spotting the hide. Thanks from D & HA B-A.

In need of a couple of caches to fill a calendar slot, keep my streak going and work towards a challenge I decided to pop down to a suburb not terribly far away from either work or home and find a couple of closely grouped caches.
Given the nature of GZ (which was, to this city slicker's eyes, very appealing) I wonder whether this cache will survive the influx of cachers during the Mega. Hell, I even wonder about the traffic to and from the nearest parking to this cache and how the residents will take it. Ah well, as long as the police are aware it is a Mega weekend all should be right.

It is good to see inner city living in these nice townhouses and not in the highrise rubbish they are building around Moonee Ponds. Good that they have preserved some of the old saleyard infrastructure like the fences. Gives the place a lovely atmosphere.

So many different entry points to the area that it's hard to clock where the next muggle will come from! Got a minute alone to grab the cache, then sat for a while enjoying the park and waiting for another quiet moment to put it back! Log is mouldy, but works just fine. TFTC!

Getting motivated to go out for a walk took most of the day, but it was worth the effort for another handful of caches and a nice jaunt along the river.

This was my first visit after getting off the bus, and I was having second thoughts when I arrived and the seemingly permanent basketball match was in session. However, they ignored me, and I took a close interest in the local flora for a smiley. Thanks, sharkiefan, for bringing me back here.

The teenage son of friends from Sydney had a go at the skate park in Kensington, then asked me if I still geocached and if there was one to find nearby. This hide was perfect. Thanks!

I do not usually get over to this side of the city but today I had arranged to catch up with ZQX and do a few of the T5 caches on the Werribee River. As usual I was way too early so I decided that I would take the time to wander around the area an grab a few caches before picking up ZQX to start our journey.

At the GZ there were a couple of people around but they were minding their own business so I started skirting around the GZ when a voice asked me if I was a geocacher...busted! I 'fessed up and after introductions I started the search under the gaze of a previous finder. It was a quick search. After signing the log and replacing the cache we bid fare thee well and I went on my way.

A bit tricky to get to this cache - narrow streets and many of them marked on the car GPS that weren't roads at all!... The development in this area probably hasn't helped - I seem to recall this area before so may have tried and failed to get here previously... Anyway, we did finally get the car to near GZ and by some miracle there was a parking spot left for us, despite an Australia Day BBQ kicking off in the park. Luckily the muggles were all away from GZ so lochb, G' of GJMMelb and I didn't have much trouble searching, G' making the find. TFTC sharkiefan!

Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. We parked nearby and noted the number people already in the park enjoying Australia day. Fortunately no muggles were too close so we started to search and I soon found the cache. We discussed how this place might have been times gone past. Thanks sharkiefan
